Snazzy Sundays ~ Vitamix It

Jan29

I love when we hang out with my boyfriend's parents as we always have fun chatting and Paul's mom is an amazing cook who also does a number of demonstrations at Williams Sonoma! I love that when I hear her tell me how to make something it really is as simple as she makes it sound. For someone who runs around doing a lot, when I do get the chance to cook something it has to be easy and I want it to look like what the picture suggests.

I love Williams Sonoma when I was growing up in Indiana as I saw it as a place to get flatware, napkins etc but with his mom - I realized that this company is perfect for my style of cooking! I have made casseroles, lettuce wraps and more from many of their easy to cook meals that allow many items to be made in one pot! It's definitely a confidence builder! In addition, I love that they have a number of machines that do the work for you and love when she lets us know that she brought us a new machine that will become my new fave (although I'm not sure which I love more my Penguin which turns water into seltzer that I use throughout the day or my Vitamix)! So during one dinner she let me know about the Vitamix which makes smoothies, sauces, soups, desserts, coffee beverages and more! I was hooked and although the recipe book is thick, everything is super easy to make. We made a Whole Foods run yesterday as I am already in the mode of a huge health kick not so much because of resolutions but mostly because Fashion Week is a few days away and bikini season will be here before you know it.

Yesterday I made a strawberry smoothie for Paul and today I thought that I was going to make the Vitamix's Lemon Lime Basil-Ade but I realized that the one thing we forgot to get was basil so I switched to the Cherry Mint Limeade which contained soy milk, lime, mint leaves and frozen cherries. Since we were fresh out of soy milk I switched it for Non Fat Yogurt and as I'm not a fan on cherries in my drink (but I love eating them as a snack) - I opted for frozen strawberries so it was more of a Strawberry Mint Limeade. Above you will note that I pretty much lay everything out so that I am super organized. The recipe book guides you and generally whatever the list of ingredients are you simply place them in the machine in the order that it's written out. Then you select the "program" which could be Smoothies, Frozen Desserts, etc and press the Start menu. You don't have to decide how long it needs to be as its already programmed. So with a few ingredients, I had a tasty beverage and it was easy to swap one item for another (which I suggest that if you do this, you should swap for similar items). I loved the taste although it was tart but I loved it - perfect smoothie for a pick me up! Later this week I will tackle hummus and a few of the sauces which is a great way to spice up your meals.

Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Sister Closet

Jan28

Growing up, my sister's closet was always a gem to run through. My style was preppy and conservative while hers was a lot more fun. I wanted to merge my style (great investment pieces that are core to the closet) with hers (surprise pop elements) that would make my look one that was super comfortable and chic. Borrowing items continued until I started to build my new wardrobe which became the beginnings of my dream wardrobe once I arrived to NYC! I always think about my Sister Closet and the importance of remembering to balance the aesthetic. I would define my look with great classics, boho chic style and more. My sister and I don't borrow from our closets as I have amazing showrooms that have opened up my world! My sister and I now share business ventures with one another and I love when she shows up to my events (upper left hand corner I hosted a phenomenal diamond event, lower left hand corner my sister came by with the launch of my collab shoe line at Robert Verdi's and lower right she was there for the 4th birthday of Kitten Lounge) or will work with me on photoshoots.

As different as we are in terms of some elements of our styles, we love the idea of having core basics! Navy is always super chic and we love the blazer which can go from preppy to sexy chic depending on how it's worn! I love this J Crew blazer. A few times when I have been on HSN for my segments, Molly Sims has been rocking it out with her line right before mine or after - loving this lariat style pearl necklace which blends prep with a sexy edge. A fun statement ring is an essential in my wardrobe and I love that my sister also expresses her style in this way as we are both focused on accessories - this ring by Mark Davis Bea is perfect in blending of materials and really making the cocktail structure of this piece as an added bonus to any look that you're looking to complete. Finally, those who follow my social networks saw me tweet out about these YSL Riviera Suede T Strap Wedges that I saw in the windows of Bergdorfs! These shoes are drool worthy and are cute additions to any look that you're rocking - they're sassy, preppy and in a sense it's like taking the French Riviera with you wherever your heels go! My Sister Closet sense still drives many components of my look but now she knows her actual closets are completely safe from me!

Fashionable Fridays ~ Kenneth Cole & Sundance

Jan27

As we know, Sundance once again became center stage this month with their Sundance Film Festival which is all about film and continues to grow with music, parties and of course fashion. This year, Awearness and the Sundance Institute have come together to support the volunteers which total over 1800 people who ensure this festivals success. This powerful duo came together to create a short film which played in all theaters starting January 25th (dubbed as Volunteer Appreciation Day).

The film was written by Kenneth Cole Productions which is amazing as Kenneth Cole (in addition to being known in fashion is also a major social activist) has been creating the uniform that all volunteers have been wearing for the past 8 years and they make a fab appearance throughout. He felt it was important to showcase what the volunteers do in this vignette and to encourage others to thank them as well. As always, Kenneth knows how to make looks that are iconic, functional and stylish with his warm red down-filled jacket featuring channel quilting, welt pockets, and zip-off sleeves. Watch the above movie which stars a number of amazing volunteers and Derek Waters (who has been in Hall Pass and He's Not That Into You).

Trendy Thursdays ~ Beauty Weekends

Jan26

With the crisp and windy times that are heading our way, we know that there will be freezing rain as well as snow! This means, we need to use any excuse possible to get out to amazing weekends and hopefully those with sun involved. As you head out the door, it's all about getting the bag to house your fave beauty items - so we start with this fun tote from Balenciaga. As you run out the door, grab some of my faves! My foundation of choice is Dior Beauty's Dior Skin Nude Gel Foundation (my shade is 070 and I love how it feels amazing on my skin, creates hydration and dewy coverage! Never be far from fun Squeeze Lip Glosses by Mark which allows you to squeeze out the amounts needed to keep your lips fresh and snazzy! If you want to know why my photoshoots look amazing, I believe that no matter how many "good genes" have been given to me, I am never too shy to help them along! I love Borba's Firming Diamond Shimmer Contour which makes your skin look phenomenal by keeping it looking young and tight while also adding some shimmer which only makes you look more amazing! Make sure that you give your skin love with the appropriate cleanser by using Acure Organics Facial Cleansing Creme (loving the olive mint) - who doesn't love a fab look that's perfect for pictures. Finally, you know I love Butter London and when you're away and out and about, it's important to have fun beyond just taking some time for yourself! Butter has a fab 2012 Spring collection and for fun, I had to share Disco Biscuit which is a fun hot pink color with glitter within it which makes you feel relaxed and ready to have an amazing time!

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Dsquared2 2012 Fall/2013 Winter Menswear Fashion Week

Jan25

Fashion Week here in NY is a few days away and I have been immersed in Fashion Week coverage around the globe! It's only appropriate to highlight a fun show that took place during the 2012 Fall/2013 Winter Menswears shows earlier this month with Dean and Dan Stanton's line, Dsquared2! As we continue to bundle up, I loved seeing the line which rocked sexy suits which is always something that I can appreciate with classic and casual denim looks! I love that denim was accessorized with fun outerwear and amazing leathergoods (ladies this comes in handy as you can share a bag when going away on a weekend). Anytime Paul and I travel together, he loves when our items can fit in one bag which makes heading out easier! On the upper left hand corner Dean and Dan, the designers of this line, rock out a classic suit while their models hit the runway showcasing fabulous and flawless style!

Treasure Tuesdays: Event ~ Hosting Leibish & Co Diamonds

Jan24

Ah Kittens, we kicked off New Years Day talking about the Pink Prosperity Diamond which is phenomenal and decadent (more on that later); moreover, they are a family run business whose pieces are only available online! This diamond is one of many that is available at Leibish & Co! Valued at $1.6 Million, this is a piece that you will definitely remember seeing and if you have the opportunity to wear it, you won't want to put it down! With my love for all things glitzy and fab, when I was requested for a fun event - there was no way that I could say no! So after gathering fab influencers that should definitely find out more about fab pieces and picking out the perfect Theia Couture dress from their Spring 12 collection, I was very excited to host this event!

As an Accessories Expert, I have appeared on a number of segments, weighed in on articles and I always know the perfect item to complete a look. So when Leibish & Co asked me to come to the St Regis Hotel last Thursday to present their fabulous diamonds and World of Colors Fancy Diamond Chart, my schedule opened up immediately. In attendance was Leibish Polnauer, president of this company. For the past 30 years he has not only offered phenomenal diamonds from a number of price ranges but he just released a colored diagram that showcases the number of hues that diamonds can come in from various white, yellow, reds and more! This comes to over 250+ colors! Above, you can see a number of images from Leibish and I, their gorgeous model who rocked a number of phenom pieces - pieces that were actually owned by an amazing couple who attended sharing their story and how diamonds are an investment for them as they spent over $1 Million.

I loved being able to take attendees through a walk through of the diamonds offered and introducing people to those who have purchased Leibish & Co diamonds over the years. Being able to wear the Pink Prosperity Diamond was definitely something amazing and wearing a fabulous Yellow Diamond bracelet that was 54 carats and $160,000 was phenomenal - it was sad to take them off at the end of the night! Of course, at every event, it's a way for me to chat with friends and my sister (she is on my right above). See more about the event and those that popped by visiting, Leibish & Co's page! Mingling Mondays ~ Morning Sunshine

Jan23

Ever since Paula Patton rocked canary yellow on the red carpet during the Golden Globes - I have been looking for ways to bring this hue into my wardrobe. Now many of you who are connected to me on Facebook or on Twitter weighed in on Paula's bold look when I shared a way that one could wear it in a super cute short style by Cynthia Rowley. Some said that the color was still bold and that accessories definitely should be used to tone the color down. Today I present a muted yellow that is also layered with a grey tank. I am known for wearing tanks year around and am able to do so in the colder season by having layers! I love the burnout jersey tanktops by T by Cut 25. I would pair this over jeggings by Black Orchid Thunder (loving the side zips which add a little sass) and of course, I can stay warm by rocking T by Alexander Wang. The best thing about this cardigan is it travels well and it has a hood which will always keep you looking chic. Mixing the yellow and grey together ensures that any bold color you were concerned about - no longer becomes a problem.

Slip on these fab boots from Report (as you know that I am a huge fan of their shoes especially their thigh high boots - love the pair I have in brown) which will complete the look. I ADORE Melanie Georgacopoulos pearl and chain necklace mixing sweet and edgy together and adding a fun layer into the overall look. Effy Collection has a fun ring which is perfect for this laid back look whether you're catching a flight, popping into meetings or running errands. Slip on these stacked pyrite bracelets by Lisa Freede and end the entire look with Fendi's gorgeous satchel bag which adds another yellow but is playful and whimsical.

Snazzy Sundays ~ Settee Your Decor

Jan22

Although I have used beauty and accessories to establish the tone of your decor, there are times when decor inspires decor! I have been obsessed with this Louisa Settee couch available at Anthropologie for weeks. Partly because my sister loves her blues and also because I love a number of the hues that run through this couch that allows you to play with color within your home. This color is fab for your living room as you can include this fab lamp available at Horchow and can either maintain the classic look of your apartment or allows you to pop in a fun modern element for a chic apartment. Set your table in the dining room with the playful colors by adding in napkins in a fab navy available at Kohl's or visit Bloomingdale's fun crisp blue hue by Thomas for Rosenthal in Sunny Day with their fun dinnerware.

When it comes to outfitting your kitchen or bringing in this room into your living room with Le Creuset's teappot which has a fab whistle. Horchow has a fab floral series of pots which can be used for condiments or even flowers. Kosta Boda's vase is also a great way to pop in another element of fun while also adhering to the color scheme. Finally, after a day of updating your decor, head over to Urban Outfitters to deck out your bed in the most comforting of ways.

Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Pre Spring Vaca

Jan21

We're almost out of January, our first month of the year and already, I'm thinking of vacation in the spring! With that said, we have to think about the brands that are a must to bring with you when it's time to take some time for yourself! First off, when it's time for Paul and I to take some super much needed time, my bag isn't complete without Norma Kamali! I have to say that I am typically not a girl who would wear a one piece; however, this classic piece is one that I would wear as it brings an essence of old world nostalgia with a sexiness of what a swimsuit can bring. This emerald suit is definitely a stunner and I love that today's accessories support this look with one of my favorite stones being jade! What I love most about this is - if you're taking a vacation with mixed groups whether it's family, friends, etc this style of suit allows you to show off your assets without being as obvious as wearing a bikini if you're in a quandry of what you should pack in terms of being appropriate.

Emilio Pucci's cuff is fabulous decadent and the perfect item to compliment the fab swimsuit. Gypsy Explore has a phenomenal necklace that is perfect for the halter swimsuit which is a great way to showcase this piece. In addition, I love the tassel and the ornate quality that is bound to draw stares. A girl should always have her handbag, so I'm loving the large envelope clutch by Pour La Victoire which has fun hardware and picks up this fab color that I can't get enough of. Slip on Tuleste Market's gold and tiger double egg ring which is a great way to add a little edge to the look. Finally, rock the entire look with a fun shoe from Fendi which adds another hue but is the perfect way to make you look phenomenal when you're on deck, in the cabana or wherever your destination takes you.

Fashionable Fridays ~ Accessorize Your Dragon

Jan20

Next week is the Chinese New Year and of course there are ways to sport this through fab accessories that I have curated for you today! I'm in love with Daniela Swaebe's Dragon Horn Cuff which will look fab with any outfit that you're rocking! When it comes to necklace options, I'm always a fan of John Hardy's dragon pieces and love this necklace with the dragon encircling you and closing this piece with this fab ring. If you're not glamming it up and going for a casual look, Borgioni's dragon necklace sitting on the horn is a perfect look. Diego Percossi Papi's earrings are ornate and have a touch of feminine pink while I also love the dramatic Dragon Hoops by Noir Jewelry! Finally, you know that I love statement rings and Alsplendour allows you to rock the double dragon look!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Dragon Beauty

Jan19

I love that the New Year continues to cycle through as you have New Year's Eve, Ukranian New Years and additional ones that allow all of us to kick off the year with a fresh start and renewed senses. This year, Jan 23rd is Chinese New Year! I have been told that Chinese New Year or the Lunar year spans a number of days and in that light, today and tomorrow we honor this holiday on Kitten Lounge! This year is known as the year of the Dragon and today's beauty post focuses on all beauty products that have that dragon tie in. Some were named to be included within the holiday and to acknowledge it and others include the name and work well with this post simply based on the theme!

Around Kitten Lounge, I have fallen in love with Gianna Rose Atelier Soaps which has year of the dragon soaps in fragrants scents that incorporate a blend of Green Tea, Ginger and Bergamot. This box contains four soaps within in and I love that it is unisex as Paul has embraced these soaps as well! Cartier's Le Baison Du Dragon has a fab ornate bottle that incorporates this theme and as you're running around the streets and ensuring that your face is flawless, Sephora and Hello Kitty present a compact mirror in gold that honors 2012's Year of the Dragon. We always think about our guys when it comes to Jack Black which keeps his lips moist with this Dragon Ice and I love that it pulls double duty as the scents are just as fab for women!

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ David Beckham Bodywear

Jan18

The past couple of days, Kitten Lounge has posted about the Golden Globes and who I loved seeing. Since today is all about the guys, we go in a different direction with David Beckham Bodywear for H&M! Although I only have a few items shown here this line includes underwear, tanks, short sleeve tees, long sleeve tees and pants in black, white and grey. In addition to the fabulous campaign images, all eyes will be on the Super Bowl during the 2nd quarter for the launch of this collection with David's commercial which will air on Feb 5th (but his 9 piece collection will be in stores on Feb 2nd).

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Janina Gavankar Gown the Ultimate Accessory

Jan17

Yesterday, I shared how much I liked Paula Patton's look on the red carpet as it was a stunning Canary color. Although I loved many of her accessories choices, I had to pop in some other elements if you wanted to make it slightly edgier. Today, it's all about the dress being an accessory and I have to say that Janina Gavankar of HBO's True Blood wore this one of a kind silver sequin illusion dress by Jean Fares Couture to HBO's Post 2012 at Circa 55 Restaurant in Beverly Hills Golden Globes Awards Party. I love that this full length gown had nude sleeves and had sequin applique all over! This is one of those RARE cases where worrying about necklaces and bracelets becomes unnecessary as the dress in itself is the total accessory. I also love that this dress is backless and is stunning which she wore so well! I do love that she popped in a fabulously large ring which makes the look amazing and I believe she is wearing Jimmy Choo silver shoes.

Janina walked the carpet in this silver sequin illusion gown featuring full length nude sleeves with sequin applique. The gown is from the new Jean Fares Couture Timeless Collection which is a series of sequin and hand-beaded gowns.

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Rain Style

Jan17

Although we have had a seasonably warm winter with sunshine and fab temperatures, we know that we still have 3 months of unpredictable weather! Eventually, we will hit that portion of the season where there will be rain, sleet, snow and the icky period of slush that can eat away at your footwear. Fortunately, there are options to this problem and with a season still ahead of us, I had to share with you some of my fave women's rain boots that keep you dry but stylish. I'm a big believer in having more than one pair as I love being able to change from one style to another depending on what's going on or how I'm feeling.

There are always key staples that one needs to think about. For those days that are near blizzard conditions, you simply want a pair of boots that cover as much of the leg as possible and have the most amount of warmth. I definitely suggest Lauren by Ralph Lauren Shoes' which has a bold blue look but will allow you to trudge wherever you are heading! If you need the ultimate coverage but need something sleek and chic, BCBGeneration has a fab pair of white boots that bring the mod look to your inner snow bunny! Coach's Janeva boot is a fab pic when you're thinking of something that is not only chic but for a night out! Although you may have to consider cabbing it in these - you know that whatever sidewalk you meet is definitely easier to navigate with them on! With so many options, check out other pairs that are currently available at Macy's!

Mingling Mondays ~ Paula Patton Stuns at Golden Globes

Jan16

Paula Patton stunned as she hit the Red Carpet for the Golden Globes, which unofficially kicks off award season! As I watched the Red Carpet on E! I was pleased to see this sunny bold choice and although many celebs hit the carpet with limited accessories, Paula had a fab clutch by Judith Leiber, Kwiat Jewelry to compliment her Monique Lhuillier strapless dress.

Paula's look was super sweet but if you wanted to pop in some edge and bit more drama, I would have rocked the black and gold choker necklace with rope detail which is available at Luisa Via Roma and the fab cuff by Aurellie Bidermann which has fab lace detailing. Finally, I'd slip on this Le Vian ring which is fabulous in gold and diamonds and definitely allows everyone to take a second look wherever your runway happens to be.

Snazzy Sundays ~ Dishes To Go Your Get Together

Jan15

I love when you wake up and someone gives you a call asking what you're up to and they find that they will be in the neighborhood and they'd love to drop by. Another friend texts and hears that so and so is coming over and they haven't seen you or the friend in eons and all of a sudden you have a small gathering coming over. You definitely have to whip up a few things for your impromptu afternoon of fun! Although I'm not vegan, I do like a number of treats that happen to be vegan and since I'm all about spreads, dips and any type of condiment that has zing in it, today's post is all about gatherings (I mean this could be perfect for tonight's Golden Globe Awards) and thankfully, Maggie Talisman of Dishes to Go shared her Vegan Mayo recipe which is below. The fab color got me to thinking of a fiesta!

First off, it's all about making seating comfortable and I fell in love with the Patrizia Sofa which takes the leather couch and makes it more refined by having it in more of a bench structure which I adore - just add pillows. Get togethers should always incorporate margaritas and wine so I'm loving Mikasa's glasses and pitcher which will ensure that there are enough rounds for everyone. You can also keep your preferred wine bottle chilled in this chiller by Nambe which is artistic even when it is not in use. Whether it's chips and salsa or you have pita triangles and hummus, I think this Nambe platter and bowl is the perfect way to present them to your guests. In addition, pop in some orange by setting out bowls and plates that are also by Mikasa. This is perfect no matter what the gathering!

Easy Vegan Mayo

1 cup soymilk

2 ½ cups canola oil

1 tablespoon tomato paste

1 ½ tablespoon cider vinegar

½ teaspoon dry mustard (or ½ tablespoon prepared mustard)

1 tablespoon agave nectar

½ tablespoon hot sauce (optional)

¼ teaspoon chopped garlic

1 tablespoon salt

1 teaspoon pepper

1. Place the soy milk in a blender, and with the blender still running, slowly drizzle in the oil.

2. Continue adding the oil until it is all absorbed.

3. Transfer to a large bowl, and whisk in the vinegar, mustard, tomato paste, agave nectar, hot sauce, salt and pepper.

4. The mayo will keep in the refrigerator, covered, for up to a week.

Swoonfest Saturdays ~ W Magazine Golden Globes Awards Party

Jan14

Yaya Dacosta looks amazing seen here at W Magazine's 69th Annual Golden Globes Awards party. You may recognize her as the runner up in America's Next Top Model Cycle 3, she has been in a number of campaigns for Oil of Olay, Sephora and more as well as movies such as Tron: Legacy, The Kids are All Right and of course in TV she has been on All My Children, Army Wives, Ugly Betty and more! Just like yesterday we showed an amazing look an re-accessorized it, here I feel there are not enough accessories. During award season I am always shocked how this portion of the look seems to be left to the last minute or is not embraced as much as it should be.

I love the black dress and think that it makes Yaya gorgeous and I love that she popped in this fabulous green with her shoes and her bracelet - to add to this look, I would mix in white gold, gold and diamonds which creates a playful look. The dress is so dynamic that adding in a bit of whimsy will add to the playful look. I love Sethi Couture's pink and white diamond flower ring which is a fab cocktail piece that is perfect for a night out. Mizuki's triple crescent triangle necklace blends the two elements together and will play nicely with the off the shoulder dress without competing with it. Finally, I'm in love with Orlando Orlandini's white gold earring drops - such a decadent look and perfect to wear with a number of outfits beyond the red carpet.

Fashionable Fridays ~ DPA Gifting Lounge Golden Globes

Jan13

Tomorrow is the Golden Globe Awards which puts us within awards season as we watch who will be winning, what they're wearing and more - there are other events that are also attended around each of these shows. Above, Christina Simpkins is at the 2012 DPA Golden Globe Awards Gift Suite. DPA (Virgins, Saints and Angels so I would pair this ring with this look as I love that it picks up the tones of the dress that Christina is wearing. Plus it's an amazing conversation piece as well. I'd actually swap out the earrings (which are lovely) that she's wearing with this pair by Mizuki as it's such a dainty and beyond glam look that doesn't conflict with the eye popping necklace that I would put in by Stephen Dweck. Together this look is playful and glam which is what you want to go for even when you're popping into the gifting suites!

Trendy Thursdays ~ His & Hers?

Jan12

When you live with your significant other, you find out many things about him and one of the things that I found out about Paul was that he LOVES my beauty product - moreso the skincare obviously. I'm always getting items and can tell when he has begun to use them as well. I would have thought that he would have left many of my masks, exfoliants, moisturizers etc alone and gone for the items that are branded as a men's item; however, that couldn't be farther from the truth! In fact, if I use the product, he is more prone to want to use it as well. Above are a few items that have either arrived or on their way to reaching me that is bound to be a hit with myself as well as Paul!

I am a huge believer in a fresh face and one that looks as young as possible. I have been blessed with amazing genetics and look much younger then the age that I am super proud of being but I don't fall back on my genetic code solely, I help it along by amazing product. I am super intrigued by Glam Glow as any product that tingles while it works is always something nice for tired skin when I am in between meetings, tapings and so much more. I'm bound to love this as it has volcanic rock, french sea clay and green tea leaf pieces! This is a fun product to apply him to be sure. I have been a long time fan on L'Occitane and this Cocoa Shea Butter from their Limited Edition line definitely did not disappoint. I love that the coverage is not greasy but you definitely feel that you're skin is getting a decadent feel and being moisturized beyond typical lotions. He loves the scent which is always nice and yet another reason why he will attempt to try it as well.

I am obsessed with Caswell Massey from their soaps, cucumber slices etc so when RoseWater arrived the other week, I was beyond giddy. I am a huge believer in its healing properties and it feels so soothing as you can use it as a toner, refresher, etc! It leaves a nice light scent which is one that he can appreciate and you may be able to get him to try some from time to time!

When it comes to showering or bathtub time I have two favorites that I definitely want to try. Tokyo Milk's Nest Egg Bubble Bath seems like a fab product as we begin heading into the spring and want to rejuvenate our skin. I fell in love with this brand from the packaging as I loved the whole Apothecary meets Anthropologie vibe so this is a brand I definitely want to share more about from its various perfumes, candles, cosmetics, lotions, etc. Finally, Byredo Parfums has a line which has lotions, fragrances and shower gel under the title - Gypsy Water. I'm intrigued by the shower gel as I love changing it up every now and then. I love the image of this gypsy/boho woman that is the inspiration behind the scent and the fact that Bergamot an Juniper Berries are apart of this scent is even more alluring! It's yet another item that would be of interest to him to try when he hops in the shower.

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Rocks Slumber

Jan11

The other day I was chatting with my friend who is beginning the early stages of finding the amazing guy and realizing that there is definitely a future with him. She's in the stages of bringing items over to stay in as it's not quite the time to leave items over - according to her. It made me think about how we go into so much effort into our looks from what we wear in the day and then at night. If we had the opportunity, how would we dress our guy or in many cases, if a guy was thinking of how he should rock his slumber style, how would he do so?

I would think that he would want to keep it easy and comfortable so I have a long sleeve grey tee from Surface to Air and paired with these suede bottoms in navy from Polo Ralph Lauren which is perfect for sleeping in, staying up and running to the bodega across the street! He can also slip into UGG Australia's Byron slippers which will keep him warm and allow him to keep this fab casual look. I have to say that I love rocking a scarf indoors so I can't help but to pop in this portion on the easy look available at Luisa Via Roma. Stephen Webster's onxy signet ring is a fab way to round out the accessories. Finally, we love a man who rocks fab beauty and he can do this simply with his Jack Black kit which ensures that he has all the basic necessities to maintain his fab good looks!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Let's Dance

Jan10

We're not quite at the half way point this month but we're super close and I have been opening and closing projects at a whirlwind pace! With all of this activity, it's time to think about taking a mini breather and go out dancing! I love a night of just grabbing some drinks but dancing until your knees can barely stand. When I have one of those ah ha moments, I know that I have to dress up in something fabulous and just get out there! With that said, you have to start out with the king of fun pieces - Roberto Cavalli knows how to come up with a fab item. I'm loving this one shoulder dress that's black and has a pop of animal print which is definitely a signature of his. The dress is a statement on its own but of course, a girl has to rock the night in fab accessories.

I suggest, Judith Jack's fun ring which is a great wrap style, a bit of rose gold and I love the play of the gems to add a little dynamic pop in black and in grey. Continue with Free People's vintage twisted arm cuff (perfect for the arm that is left bare by this outfit). I'm loving the chandelier earrings by Pippa Small which is the perfect way to adorn your neck without being on it actually. Hold this Anya Hindmarch fun woven leather clutch for your basic necessities. Complete this look with a fab pair of Fendi pumps that let everyone know that whichever night this is being worn, will truly be epic!

Mingling Mondays ~ Crisp Accessorizing

Jan09

With new year wishes still being uttered we're hitting the half way mark of this month. If your week is anything like mine, you're going to be super busy and you don't know where it's taking you. So in my case, I leave my house prepared for those requests to grad drinks, a quick bite and more. I love the idea of taking a clean and simple look such as this white oxford tunic from Cold Water Creek - the embroidery is a nice touch but I am loving the leggings which are a mix of jersey and leather by Rick Owens. Dannijo's tiered Swarovski choker. Slip on Alexis Bittar's Emerald encrusted gunmetal ring which is so fabulous. Of course you can bring in a bit of the rocker chic by having Linea Pelle's wrapped bracelet which creates great layers. Slip on these fab caged heels by Christian Louboutin and to continue the fab pop of green - why not rock Ghibli python satchel.

Snazzy Sundays ~ Avocado Your Decor

Jan08

I think that Michael Craig from Dinette.com would agree with me as he is all about resolutions for your home that when it's time to bring light into the home - start from within! With less light being outside, you need to make sure that you bring it in so don't forget your citrus tones. This fun avocado color brings a lot of light into the home. Start with your kitchen as it will give you great ideas in terms of bringing people over and even Michael suggests that you should always have a bottle of wine or two in case people pop by! I'm loving the glasses from Diane von Furstenberg which are perfect for anytime of day. As you cook throughout the day, the silicone potholder is available at Sur La Table. Serve up tasty treats from Jars "Tourron" on this fabulous platter and if you're making guacamole, you'll love this Mini Masher that makes the work super easy. You can also end the evening with Jars "Tourron"'s teapot. Keep a feeling of zen and light with Illume Good Nature Tin from my fave store Anthropologie!

Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Your Olympic Bid to London

Jan07

This summer in addition to all the fun you knwo you will have, we are all excited about one of the biggest time periods for sports - The 2012 Olympics which will be held in the host city of London! The US Olympic Committee and CharityBuzz have come together to provide an opportunity for you to attend the games in a completely luxe VIP way by placing a fab package worth $50,000 that's available for auction if you have the highest bid! You and your plus one will enjoy seeing the games with an all expense paid trip to London, receive tickets and of course special access with other surprises of course. Put your Olympic bid in now through Jan 19th to see if you are in the running for a package which includes:

* Accommodations at the four-star Hilton London Metropole, conveniently located near the Olympic Games site

* Pre-selected tickets to a variety of popular sporting events that include swimming, basketball, track, beach volleyball and more

* Personal concierge service from a U.S. Olympic Committee staff member

* 2 five-day passes to USA House, the U.S. Olympic Committee's official business and hospitality center

* Two passes to the exclusive CoSport hospitality center

* Access to a special reception with Olympians and Paralympians

* Commemorative Olympics merchandise

The proceeds from the auction wil benefit the U.S. Olympic Committee, supporting U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes in achieving sustained competitive excellence. I definitely believe in having full access and this package does that and more!

Fashionable Fridays ~ Winter Lounge

Jan06

So to start us off, I'm loving American Eagle's vintage collegiate tanks and hope that they will add my alma mater, Indiana University! With that said, there are times when I pull a couple of days at the Kitten Lounge Loft where it's all about work and getting things pumped out. I know that messengers will still come by, people will drop by just because and more. So when it's time to lounge, I still do it fabulously. I'm all about being cozy so I suggest rocking J Jones velour pants! This is the best way to glide around the loft and take care of items while being comfortable. Rock this fabulous Oscar de la Renta charm necklace which has amazing charms and I love the bronzed effect. Slip on this black and diamond sterling silver ring which is decadence for your finger. Finally stack it up (as I am a huge fan of this) with Chan Luu and Linea Pelle for a little rocker chic. Add a bit of relaxation to the overall loo k(it is Friday after all) with a fab pair of slip on Converse sneakers which makes things effortless when you have to pop on a pair of shoes. Together, office hours will go phenomenally fast!
