In a few days there will be one of my favorite times during the year, NY Fashion Week. It'll be about sharing all the new looks for the Spring 2011 season, meeting new designers and so much more. It's 9 days worth of fashion and fun. Now most of our posts will be about Fashion Week; however, there are serious issues out there as well that will happen right after Fashion Week. On Sept 20th, you have the opportunity to help women who are fighting ovarian and breast cancer while also meeting various female culinary greats as well as enjoying their foods as well! Tickets are on sale now but we wanted to let you know now just in case you wanted to be apart of this! In addition, with a number of items up for auction, you could be the winner of the pink Vespa that is shown above.
The Seventh Annual 'A Second Helping at Life' takes place on Sept 20th at Pier 60 Chelsea Piers. This all woman chef event benefits SHARE, an NYC based not for profit organization that offers support to women with breast and ovarian cancer as well as to their families. There will be a VIP receoption for one hour at 6:00 and then a tasting and auction from 7:00 - 9:30pm. Tickets range as low as $300 for individuals to tables that seat 10 being as high as $35,000. Tickets can be purchased at SHARE's website Enjoy food from Executive Chef, Alex Guarnaschelli (Butter) and Executive Chefs Emeriti: Amy Scherber (Amy's Bread), Anita Lo and more (with so many people included within this event, you'll definitely want to see the amazing women chef's that are going to be in attendance)! There will be signature drinks by Julie Reiner of Clover Club and Flatiron Lounge.
