I never thought about Tea Towels really. You know, you have them hanging on the knob of a cabinet or on the handle of your oven door. They're perfect for wiping up a quick mess, drying off a dish or just folding to putting something warm on it. There is something about having one in your kitchen and displayed that makes you say, "this is my kitchen". My first apartment in college my tea towels were white and blue and it was the last touch that I needed. At one point in my career when I worked at Anthropologie as a Home Manager, I was obsessed with the various Tea Towels that they had!
So when I received an email yesterday about a group that had placed an importance on Tea Towels, I took notice and had to share it with all of you! Power Women Magazine & Radio Show are seeking people that can help them with a special goal as they are looking for us to give back to women shelters across the nation. They are seeking for people to donate at least 1 Tea Towel whether it's brand new or one that you have made. From now through the end of Nov, this organization will accept these donations and Power Women will make sure that they are given to the women who are making the transition from women's shelter to their very own place. In many cases, these women who are ready to transition only have the clothes that they came in with and although the shelter provides as many things as possible, certain amenities are not provided. These items may not be essential in terms of living; however, they are elements that we identify with in terms of making an environment a home and not a house. If you are interested in donating, please contact me so that I can provide the address. For each person that donates a towel, your not only supporting Power Women Magazine and Radio Show which is celebrating their second year in Nov but they will offer you a donor link on their website Tea Towels 2 to show that you support their efforts in distributing these pieces throughout women's shelters.
