Swoonfest Saturdays: Behind the Scenes of NYFW ~ 12 Weeks

With the summer kicking into high gear (although summer technically hasn't started yet), the fashion world is in the midst of production whether it's planning, figuring out odds and ends and more - NYFW is about 12 weeks away at this point and it's crunch time. There are a number of Fashion Weeks that take place within the range (or just a bit on the outside of) Sept 5 - 12th and there are also designers that go solo and create their own show outside of the structured weeks. With that said, each week, you can peek behind the curtain of one of the Fashion Week's (roll your mouse over the above image to learn about weeks that we cover here on Kitten Lounge) which will be in its second season this year - Shoe Week - which I am the Co-Founder and Creative Director of this brand which is footwear forward.

I have receieved questions from people about what it takes to put a week of fashion shows, presentations and more together. Each Saturday, you can see what we're up to and since I'm all about pictures, I'm thrilled that our Behind The Scenes of NYFW for Spring/Summer 2014 (SS2014) as it pertains to Shoe Week, will be shown to you via pictures courtesy of Pentax as we'll be documenting via their Q7 camera which is a great hybrid between a great compact camera along with a DSLR. In addition, you'll see what tech we use in order to stay connected and to get through this process!

In terms of other designers who are working on their NYFW presentations, you can check out what they are up to as we know about it by following @KittenLounge and checking out the hashtag, #BTSNYFW (Behind the Scenes NYFW) so that you can check out their inspirations, planning and so much more!

Shoe Sundays ~ Green Your Decor

Happy St Patrick's Day! Yesterday as the snow fell off and on throughout the day, I saw people making their way to 5th Ave to check out the parade that was taking place. Everyone rocked green and as the day turned to night, even the Empire State Building donned this hue yesterday as well as later on tonight. Green is such a revitalizing color and when you roll over today's images, you'll find items that are perfect in your bedroom and living room whether it's your home or you're thinking of items to take to your vacation home.

SHOE INSPIRATION

The shoe inspiration from this curated post comes from the work that I have been doing on one of my other brands' Shoe Week which launched last Sept during NYFW with a number of shows. Although we're working very hard on NYFW for this Sept, we have a number of projects throughout this year where we work with our clients. EXPATRIATE is a fabulous line designed by Kita Nolley which brings in her love for traveling to a number of destinations. Based in Atlanta, she transports you to other portions of the world. This Thurs, she will hit the runways during Charleston Fashion Week to show her line and Shoe Week partnered with her to find the perfect heels to complete her looks! United Nude is all about architectural design as the designer works in tandem with an architect to create these shoes that have been included in a number of runway shows from London, Milan, Paris, NY and much more.

ROLL OVER THE IMAGES TO GET THE DECOR

I'll keep you in the loop as I make my way to Charleston to show you the line and the fab heels from United Nude. In the meantime, you can enjoy what should be in your home and how a little green can make your space refreshing.

Mingling Mondays: Awards Season 2013 ~ It's Oscar Week

It's Oscar Week! Throughout this week celebs will hit a number of luncheons, gifting lounges and more. The Academy Awards will air at 8pm this Sunday with red carpet coverage starting at 1:30pm! We'll be tweeting talking about who's wearing what and a number of other tidbits. Leading up to it, come here to find out how to get red carpet worthy whether you're attending viewing parties or want to know how to glam it up for a major red carpet event or times when you know that all eyes will be on you in casual settings. This falls into my belief of "nuvo glam" I love how you can mix fabulous items with casual pieces (which Oscar Week is full of a number of activities that are relaxed) or key pieces that work well with glam.

Over the last few days, it's been all about NYFW (continue on with Fashion Week by checking out what's going on in London) and I love that although there are a number of items that aren't available until Fall 2013 - many of the beauty looks can definitely be rocked now! As you know, I covered Houghton Backstage and fell in love with the hair (Relaxed Elegance) that was created for the show by. Once again, I had to share the looks that were created via their Lead Stylist Joseph DiMaggio and the rest of his L'Oreal Professionnel team with its new product, True Grip.

CREATE THE DO

To create this look, DiMaggio poured a liberal amount of the NEW L’Oréal Professionnel True Grip Texturizing Powder ($15; .25 oz.) into a bottle of L’Oréal Professionnel Volume Expand Leave-In Spray ($24.00; 4.3 fl. oz.) for grip, hold and foundation to the style. The mixture was sprayed generously from roots to ends. After drying hair with blow dryer, hair was then split into three sections, two over the ears and one over the nape. The back section was then braided, then twisted and pinned into a low bun.

DiMaggio then pulled one of the remaining side sections towards the neck while loosely covering the ears, wrapping hair under and around the bun. The same step was repeated for the remaining side section. L’Oréal Professionnel Infinium 3 hairspray ($24.00; 11 oz.) was then spritzed all over for hold, and finished-off with L’Oréal Professionnel Perfect Shimmer ($21.00; 5.8 oz.) for shine. “I love the look Joseph created,” said Polk who who has collaborated with the brand’s session styling team for three ready-to-wear seasons. “Joseph and I created a pulled-back look for the show that was clean and simple but had slight notes of the [collection’s] inspiration.”

ACCESSORIZE THE LOOK

As many of you know, I don't wear earrings; however, there are times when they are a must and with this look for your hair, you have to adorn your neck with more than necklace. I have rounded up some fabulous earrings that are perfect from running to lunches and of course the red carpet of the Oscars! Olivia Collings ($10,450; Barneys New York) has fabulous paste earrings that are antiqued and have a great chandelier effect. If you're looking for something a little edgy, including Ileana Makri ($2,409; Matches) white gold and diamond snake earrings. For a pop of regal color, add Irene Neuwirth ($9,260; Barneys New York) with these Boulder Opal Long Earrings. One of my favorites in this spread for a fun gifting lounge, these Small Abalone Shell Earrings in 10kt Gold by Annette Ferdinandsen ($1,230; Ylang 23) are amazing to wear with fun dresses and jeans. For sheer elegance, these diamond earrings from Me & Ro ($900; Barneys New York) are a great way to add a touch of chic to your look. Finally, fabulous bling can be found with Fabrizio Riva ($1,395; Barneys New York) in brown diamonds which are so decadent with these long earrings.

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Orlebar Brown

London Collections Men continues into its final day. With the winter coming upon us, we're looking for vibrant color and we found it with Orlebar Brown which launched six uears ago via Adam Brown, a photographer! He conceived this line which creates tailored swimwear for men! What a great alternative to what's out there in the marketplace and this season which looks at FW2013 is not only retro (this very Art Deco and everything I love about Miami as the collection is broken out into 3 areas: Miami Nights, Poolside Decadence and Beach Frivolity) but fun with it's yellows, red and a hint of mint! With a mix of printed shorts, blazers, oversized bags and more - we're ready ot jump on a cruise to really embrace this look. Who doesn't love bringing in that Miami sense no matter where you're off to or just popping it in to the overall look?

Snazzy Sundays: Kitten Lounge Loft ~ Tackling Our Fashion Office

Tackling The Office

- Find comfy seating for pitch meetings and watching video feeds for future coverage

- Organize our samples for shoots and vids

- Create a cozy nook for shoots and vids

- Create inspiration with our samples by having them displayed in the office - it is fashionable after all

- We agree with Bravo's Jeff Lewis that every evening should be a martini break at the office

We have been working like anything to turn one of the Kitten Lounge's spaces into a hybrid between a closet as well as a room to work in which allows us to shoot videos and to hold our meetings internally! Although there have been some ups and downs, it's good to get to the point of thinking of what to bring into the space. We have plans of making this fully functional within the next few months and as I'm a fan of making lists, you can see above what we're focused on! We want comfy seating so we can chat as well as to watch red carpet coverage from the office as we tweet or to think about what I'm wearing when I'm on the way to thinking about my segments. Samples are a huge issue with us as we shoot with them, use them for our spreads and more. We also want to have a section where we can do shoots here for things that don't need a huge production around it. Our samples stay a bit longer then we initially think whether we use them for a number of projects, are awaiting for them to go back somewhere or it's decided that they become owned by us - why store them away when it can become apart of our decor - hello storage that keeps them in a dedicated space but allows us to be inspired! Finally, we love on Bravo that Jeff Lewis' team is known for having martinis at cocktail 'o clock and we do too! There's something about toasting the end of a successful Fashion Week season, projects we've enjoyed closing (which is all of them) or to hail my return after a long trip - all of it needs to be done well and why not start here.

I want to share with you our initial points to tackle as we continue to go forward! I've been obsessed with the Napa Kitchen/Bar Carts for awhile and this one from JCPenney is perfect as it makes your options mobile. A simple drink can now open itself up to having light snacks whether it's after work or watching Fashion Police! Bookshelves are fantastic when they're art even when empty! We're excited to see our shoes, jewelry pieces and more sitting there on this Maria Yee Ventana shelf on Gump's. A proper bar set is key and is the only civilized thing to have in the office we love this Waterford barware set. We love a fabulous coffee table that can double as quick seating such as this reclaimed table from Anthropologie. I grew up with wing tip chairs in the living room as well as having them in my mother's bedroom! It's so decadent and I think no room should exist without one and this Biltmore Chair - this is perfect for the office and can also work well in a shoot. Glam it up with these Marrakesh style pillows from Horchow with this rich orange hue - amazing! We will keep you up to date on the progress and once completed or within our beginning steps, we will show you as well. Going forward, many of our videos will be done here so you'll see how it all worked out and the brands that graciously became our sponsors for our enlightened and inspirational space!

Mingling Mondays: 2012 In Review ~ Shoe Week

As Publisher and Founder of Kitten Lounge, I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas Eve! Whether you're traveling to your destination or have already made it, I hope you're having an amazing time and will have an even better 2013. With only a handful of days left of the year, I wanted to include things that have taken place this year with Kitten Lounge as well other brands that I am apart of!

This past Sept, New York Fashion Week came showcasing the best of Spring/Summer 2013 fashions. In addition to Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week and Milk Made Fashion Week at Milk Studios in the city, I was so pleased as Paul Farkas and I co-founded and launched, Shoe Week which I serve as the Creative Director for this brand which focuses on a fashion week for shoes. We presented a number of shoes during our runway shows at The Glass Houses, we had a kickoff event that we did with a shoe's best friend - handbags, at Linea Pelle's showroom here in NYC for our Style Tweetup hours before Fashion's Night Out and we had a fab closing party at XVI Lounge focusing on Sneakers! Our sneaker focused closing party, known as Sneaker Sessions was sponsored by Alma Tequila and Hot 97.

Being able to launch a Fashion Week here in NYC with a number of fabulous partners was such a great time and of course we will be presenting a fun showcase during NYFW in a few short weeks as well as a series of events in Sept for Spring/Summer shows again!

2013 for Shoe Week will be phenomenal as we're styling a number of shows throughout the year for a number of global Fashion Weeks, lookbooks and of course our industry focused events through the key portions of Fashion Week calendars! As an Accessories Expert, it's definitely amazing to share and pair phenomenal footwear designers with apparel designers whether they're brands that I have always loved, have become obsessed with overtime - with a need to share their brand with an audience of buyers, media and influentials.

Mingling Mondays: Kitten Lounge 5th Anniversary Giveaway ~ Crest

We only have 2 more days left of Paris Fashion Week and then Fashion Month will be closed for this season and we will be back to our normally scheduled programming. We're playing a bit of catch up as we have been covering a number of Fashion Week's, the launch of Shoe Week which took place during NYFW and more. We will also be sharing my recent trip to Jamaica to cover the Miss Global International Pageant just days after NYFW! With all of this going on, you may not have realized that Kitten Lounge has turned 5! It has been such a blessing to share my thoughts on fashion, insights to the industry and also what I have been up to. Many of you have seen me grow within the fashion industry from a model to someone who now runs a number of brands as well as represents them! Thank you so much and there is no better way to say thank you then to do a giveaway each day during the month of October!

We're kicking it off with Crest 3D Whitestrips which many of you know that I am a Brand Ambassador for but also a HUGE believer in as well. Last week upon my return from Jamaica, I was invited to an event with Crest that was hosted by Bride's Magazine (congrats to Keija Minor their new Editor in Chief) and Kleinfeld's Bridal Salon. What a fun way for brides and their friends to see what's out there from dresses, cakes, beverages and more! Being a newly crowned Maid of Honor for my sister, I definitely enjoyed learning about what's out there and loved that Crest ensures that on your special day and everyday that you look your best!

Snazzy Sundays: Shoe Week NYFW SS2013 ~ Gasoline Glamour + Eva Varro

Now many people ask me what New York Fashion Week is. It's a time when brands come together to showcase their collections, concepts and more. Whether you're apart of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Milk Made or a number of other associations. My Co-Founder, Paul and I realized a need in the industry to ensure that there was more of a focus on accessories and presenting items that you may not typically see on the runways. This season, many sites have talked about the phenomenal footwear that has hit the runways for SS2013; however, I must say that the highlight of shoes took place during Shoe Week with this show!

We created Shoe Week as a series of fashion events that merged music with amazing DJ's, shoes and apparel designers. One of our four runway shows was Gasoline Glamour + Eva Varro! Both are brands that are our west. I fell in love with Gasoline Glamour months ago as I love how she embellishes heels and definitely gives you a rock star edge. I have been wearing Eva Varro for over 10 years so as Creative Director of Shoe Week, I had to think of putting the best pairings together. We also added in a fun element with a high end accessories pet line, Couture by Sophie. For those that attended our shows at The Glass Houses and were at this show, you listened to SpacePlant who DJ'd this show! Check out more images of this show by visiting our Facebook album.

Mingling Mondays: SS 2012 Trend ~ Chevron Maxi

As you can see, Mingling Mondays is getting a bit of a facelift of sorts. Mingling Mondays will be about fab trends that are in season (which right now will be Spring Summer as we are in transition) worn by many of our fave celebs as they're out and about and not on the red carpet! It's a great way for you to see their personal style and to give you options. Kitten Lounge will pop in elements that we love and want you to love and the accessories that can bind this together. Sandra Bullock hits the streets of New Orleans (image from US Weekly) and I'm loving that she's rocking a maxi (which has been a huge portion of my wardrobe in Spring and in Summer. I love that she's rocking it in a stripe that becomes a chevron at the top. Chevron is definitely a huge trend for this season and you can't go wrong within this black and khaki shade. I can't say that I'm a fan of having a north/south bag slung over her in a cross body style but I love that she personalized her look and took some of the volume out of this maxi by tying a knot in it - definitely a bit unexpected!

We've seen a number of celebs rocking maxis and I'm definitely loving Ella Moss' striped maxi which has the length that I love but also adds in a bit of a nipped in waist by having a romper element added in which allows a blousson effect! I love the wider straps as sometimes having skinny straps can dig in a bit. And when it comes to vibrant hues, Vince Camuto has this fabulous keyhole effect with a tangerine hue (hot off the runways of the spring/summer 2012 runway shows) that results in colorblocked chevron! I also love that the neckline has this natural collar which is like a necklace! In terms of rocking a cute bag, these dresses beg for clutches and an envelope style is the perfect item. One of the new neutrals which has been shown for a few seasons is this gorgeous yellow python clutch by Jil Sander. Together, this is the look of spring that will carry over into the summer!

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Giorgio Armani Fall 2012/2013 Winter Menswear Fashion Week

With Fashion Week officially starting here in NYC, we had to show a fab show of men's that took place last month in Milan! What I love most about Giorgio Armani, is that he knows a thing or two about outerwear! I love his double breasted leather jackets as well as pea coats! The classic winter coat layered over a vest is another perfect look. I'm loving the blazer with the glasses - so chic and how about fab bags being carried by these well suited gentlemen?

Fashionable Fridays ~ Behind the Scenes With Theia

I love what I do! It allows me to go behind the scenes months in advance to see lines, their inspirations and more. With Fashion Week being less than a week away, readers always want to get as many sneak peeks as possible on collections. On the day of shows, I get to go to many of the shows prior to them hitting the runway. This allows me to let you know what to expect in terms of hair, makeup and what accessories they will rock on the runway. Theia Couture is one of my favorite designers as I have worn them at events and enjoy seeing this line on the runway! Creative Director, Don O’Neill, has a phenomenal vision that comes to life at every presentation. This year, they will be at the Metropolitan Pavilion as apart of Style 360. What a great space to see these pieces showcased. A show is about putting the best elements from the collection out as well as inspirations.

One of the things about the line that always gets me excited is that inspiration comes from Greek goddesses. For this Fall 2012 collection is Athena who is a deity that is known as a powerful woman who was full of wisdom, the instinct to protect and courage. "In 2012 as we face challenging times, I want to imbue the THEIA woman with this sense of power and confidence that will help her stride forward, feeling brave, beautiful, and strong," said the Creative Director. Above you can see models waiting to be seen during the model call for this show where they select the women who will rock the runway and will ensure that the designated looks make sense for them. In addition, you can see some of the mood boards which lets you know the direction that the brand will design in and includes fabrics.

On the day of the show, you can see the runway show and get a front row seat! As an Accessories Expert, I'm beyond excited that shoes will be provided via Q by Pasquale, jewelry from Ben Amun, gloves from Fratelli Orsini and nails by Dashing Divas.

Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Sister Closet

Growing up, my sister's closet was always a gem to run through. My style was preppy and conservative while hers was a lot more fun. I wanted to merge my style (great investment pieces that are core to the closet) with hers (surprise pop elements) that would make my look one that was super comfortable and chic. Borrowing items continued until I started to build my new wardrobe which became the beginnings of my dream wardrobe once I arrived to NYC! I always think about my Sister Closet and the importance of remembering to balance the aesthetic. I would define my look with great classics, boho chic style and more. My sister and I don't borrow from our closets as I have amazing showrooms that have opened up my world! My sister and I now share business ventures with one another and I love when she shows up to my events (upper left hand corner I hosted a phenomenal diamond event, lower left hand corner my sister came by with the launch of my collab shoe line at Robert Verdi's and lower right she was there for the 4th birthday of Kitten Lounge) or will work with me on photoshoots.

As different as we are in terms of some elements of our styles, we love the idea of having core basics! Navy is always super chic and we love the blazer which can go from preppy to sexy chic depending on how it's worn! I love this J Crew blazer. A few times when I have been on HSN for my segments, Molly Sims has been rocking it out with her line right before mine or after - loving this lariat style pearl necklace which blends prep with a sexy edge. A fun statement ring is an essential in my wardrobe and I love that my sister also expresses her style in this way as we are both focused on accessories - this ring by Mark Davis Bea is perfect in blending of materials and really making the cocktail structure of this piece as an added bonus to any look that you're looking to complete. Finally, those who follow my social networks saw me tweet out about these YSL Riviera Suede T Strap Wedges that I saw in the windows of Bergdorfs! These shoes are drool worthy and are cute additions to any look that you're rocking - they're sassy, preppy and in a sense it's like taking the French Riviera with you wherever your heels go! My Sister Closet sense still drives many components of my look but now she knows her actual closets are completely safe from me!

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Dsquared2 2012 Fall/2013 Winter Menswear Fashion Week

Fashion Week here in NY is a few days away and I have been immersed in Fashion Week coverage around the globe! It's only appropriate to highlight a fun show that took place during the 2012 Fall/2013 Winter Menswears shows earlier this month with Dean and Dan Stanton's line, Dsquared2! As we continue to bundle up, I loved seeing the line which rocked sexy suits which is always something that I can appreciate with classic and casual denim looks! I love that denim was accessorized with fun outerwear and amazing leathergoods (ladies this comes in handy as you can share a bag when going away on a weekend). Anytime Paul and I travel together, he loves when our items can fit in one bag which makes heading out easier! On the upper left hand corner Dean and Dan, the designers of this line, rock out a classic suit while their models hit the runway showcasing fabulous and flawless style!

Treasure Thursdays ~ Fall Beauty Obsessions

When it comes to obsessing over a few items my closet does mini shifts but the above items are apart of my musts whether you're running to events, shoots, segments or just prepping for the upcoming holiday season! Since Fashion Week, some of these have been apart of my beauty arsenal and one item I just received yesterday but am definitely drooling over it in under 24 hours!

NP Set (available at Target) is a must in my world of lip gloss. After going to the presentation prior to New York Fashion Week and meeting Napoleon himself, I am convinced that he has a number of hues within the pinky spectrum to make you look amazing while leaving in so many enriching nutrients that you don't have to worry about stripping your lips! Yesterday as I ran out the door, my doorman let me know that a little bag was waiting for me and thankfully I paused as L'Occitane just sent me their lip balms. Now I have been a fan of their traditional hand creams for years and I think it makes awesome gifts whether it's a thank you or you're just being a proper house guest but starting Oct 12th, you can get their limited edition "In the Patterns and Scents of Africa" which has Bogolan packaging designs that are inspired by traditional fabrics of the villages. In addition to the lip balms (including 10% shea), there are shea butters in hand and body creams. The three scents are derived from 3 African flowers: Desert Rose from Morocco (fruity and zesty), Hibiscus from Egypt (sensual and sunny) and Cocoa Flower from the Ivory Coast (warm with that hint of cacao).

During NYFW, Kitten Lounge celebrated its 4th Anniversary at a party at Shobha and one of our generous sponsors was Birchbox which included their Sept box (items curated in conjunction with Scoop NYC. Within this curation, they included Bliss' Blood Orange and White Pepper Hand Cream which is perfect for fitting within your purse. Everyone knows that I am obsessed over blood orange and I love the thick nourishing feel of this cream while being in one of my favorite scents. Finally, Caswell-Massey has been a mainstay in my travels as I carry the packets of their Cucumber Eye Pads with me. But if you wish to stock up or have a little love on your vanity, they also have this fab jar, These are soothing as the real cucumbers without having to cut them into the thin sheets. Simply take them out and place them on your eyes and be transported to calm.

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Embraces Hues

NYFW has come and gone and now other cities are rocking their runways with a number of designers. We enjoyed some phenomenal weather (even though during NYFW we were going to have rain for days) and then fall magically came when the runways went quiet. I love that we're now in fun layers and I've been rocking fun looks as I have also been wearing my line, Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12! This fashion week season it has been super clear that orange is a hue that is going to be huge for Spring 12 for mens and womens. Good thing that we can all rock orange so his style will definitely incorporate the above look!

I love Balmain's peacoat - which is classic chic and who doesn't love the buttons, pair this with a simple shirt and a fan pair of jeans of his choice. I'm a huge fan of texture and hues so this Etro Houndstooth scarf is amazing and of course, you can't go wrong with Prada - these penny drivers are divine. Finish it all up with J Crew's weekender bag which is perfect for apple and pumpkin picking or just going away for a bit of a vacation.

Fashionable Fridays: NYFW SS12 ~ Emerson

This morning marked the 2nd official day of Fashion Week and my 3rd day as I had shows prior to the official season. With a long day of shows and events yesterday as well as Fashion Night Out (loved being able to do Style Sessions at Henri Bendel with fab designer Ted Rossi) - it was a full day. But I popped up to head to Emerson (yet another show produced by People's Revolution and my third day in a row to see Ms Cutrone in action) at Lincoln Center. This season was the first one that they had done in the tents which is always an accomplishment and creates additional buzz. They also had eyewear that was provided by Eyefly. There were a number of cute dresses and separates. As a whole the collection had a fresh look that was dominated by white and black with pops of blues and purples. As always, I have the final walk of all the models and the designer herself that popped out as is custom!

Trendy Thursdays: NYFW SS12 ~ Tadashi Shoji

Above is the favorite part of any fashion show, it's when the crew rolls up the plastic on the runway, the whole space goes dark and then the lights that are for the opening of the show light up. There are a few moments of anticipation where you're not quite sure what will come out but you're excited to see the first look. I also love when the lights go off at the end and you're left with a few moments of just enjoying the moment. I love seeing a Tadashi Shoji show. He's all about pops of color for Spring, whimsy and maintaining feminine qualities without taking away elements of sex appeal. He's a designer that can make the size 2, 10 and higher look gorgeous within the same dress and doesn't skimp on style. He truly is about the shape of a woman's body. There were a number of pieces that were simply stunning on this afternoon's Lincoln Center show. Held in the largest space of the Fashion Week complex, the audience practically swayed as they previewed each portion of the collection and were delighted with flowy dresses, florals and just the feeling of pretty that we want when we're out and about at special events without worrying about the fuss.

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Pre NYFW

Although Fashion Week starts tomorrow officially, I will be running around going to a few shows as well as doing my last minute errands in terms of getting my complete looks. So for me, Fashion Week starts in a few hours with a presentation, runway show and other tidbits. For him, he can relax and work on his projects and shake his head as I am forced to run in and out of the worst weather possible for my key time of year. It also seems like those that are US Open bound also feel the same way as their games were cancelled last night - I feel their pain but at least NYFW is not cancelled but it will make running around in my stilettos a sport of their own.

With the fall weather that is coming upon us it is allowing me to rock some layers in addition to some outerwear and for him, he can get cozy. Although he is not at the games right now, he's loving Heineken Tennis Classic by Sol Angeles' exclusive collection that was created in conjunction with Heineken and is currently available at Arthur Ashe stadium. If you're in the complex, you have to check them out as they have a number of cute items and for men's casual wear for running around, going to the gym etc this is phenomenal and apparently sales reflect that the public loves it! He pairs this with American Essential's drawstring jersey pant as he runs out to grab a bagel, get a haircut and all the quick prep he needs to be snazzy for days at the tents, media lounges and after parties. All Saints' hoodie caps the look off as we love playing with grey and to add a pop and to be truly playful in the land of blue, we finish off with these zippy Adidas Original sneakers! Happy Pre Fashion Week and it's official that we will be recapping what we're seeing starting tonight all the way until the end of next week!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ NYFW Musts Checklist

I start my days during NYFW checking to see how my schedule needs to be updated as there are always invites that come in, media lounges to attend and a few other appearances that I am asked to go to. I spend the days prior to Fashion Week lining up my closet with items that will be perfect for all these events as my days send me running from tents and this season I will be launching my line as well. But no matter what, I have my basics that get me through the 9 days of madness. Some items are my tried and true such as my Cocoa Butter which keeps my skin enriched and soft, I also love my NARS Body Glow which gives a nice hue and my Urban Decay 24/7 as I believe in black eyeliner. Now I have an entire new arsenal series of beauty products that are a must and will carry me through this season.

I love love love M.A.C.'s Semi Precious Mineralize Eyeshadow which is a nice way to add a little something to my eyes, I fell in love with NP Set after listening to Napoleon Perdis show a small group of us his new made for Target collection before I went off to HSN and of course I have been a fan of Coach Poppy Fragrance so now having the rollerball that has their new scent in there as well as the previous one is always nice to refresh me between shows.

When it comes to my accessories, I can never go wrong with any of the Virgins, Saints and Angels rings as it's a great way to add wow factor to my hands (since I gesture a lot and they look amazing in pictures), I'm also all about stilettos and am obsessed with Vince Camuto at the moment especially anything that is studded (doesn't matter if I'm in leggings or if I am in a super cute dress) and finally Rebecca Minkoff's M.A.B. in python is the cutest satchel that can allow me to take all of my goodies along with me and yet remain so stylish!

Mingling Mondays ~ NYFW Mixed Metals

One of my fave labels is Young, Fabulous and Broke. I love that they have simple pieces that can be dressed up or down. Sometimes I love mixing my metals and when I'm at Fashion Week, it's all about having fun and easy pieces that take me from runway shows in the tents, media lounges all over the city and events in the evening. I'm loving Kenneth Jay Lane's braided bib necklace that's so fun of color, texture and detail. Pop on Deanna Hamro Atelier's statement ring to complete the look which has a number of hues and of course finish it off with something fun. I love this DC Comics Wonder Woman bracelet which is definitely a conversation piece but also incorporates my favorite comic book heroine! There's nothing like stylish, classy fun to make the look complete.

Fashionable Fridays ~ Fitness 360

There are many words/phrases this summer that have been my mantra and I have to say that as I get closer to NYFW as crazy of a time as it is, there is also a lot of reflection there too! Paul always reminds me about what is in my 360 which means that there are a lot of things that we participate in but not all of it is what makes us who we are and what we want to be. When we're looking at our long and term short goals, it's easy to get stuck into the minutia and miss out on what's important. The same can be said for fitness. Over the past month, I've been toning up (which is always good as my goal was not to lose weight per se), making healthier food choices (thanks to the amazing deliveries via Fresh Diet) and also looking at what it all means. I am a person that runs at 500% and even on a bad day, it's abotu 300%. My end result goals are always the same but the things that I must do in the middle have been altered. With many of the placements, opportunities etc that have come my way it makes me re-evaluate things and also see myself in relation to them with fresh eyes.

The same, I think can be said in terms of fitness. I don't believe in obsessing (although I do obsess on accessories) but I feel that we also have to see ourselves as we are which means setting realistic goals in our fitness and when we make positive changes to see ourselves in that new light. With Fashion Week madness and pre-holiday madness upon us, I hear people mention their achievements but not really embrace it - thus the hard work seems a bit lackluster. Today's post is about being healthy mind, body and soul and being able to enjoy your accomplishments in all that you do. Being on HSN this past week for yet another series of visits, I felt in the zone, happy with accomplishments that I had made going into this visit, knowing of others that would be released this week and I loved how I looked. That is the true measure of success - where you feel you sit in the midst of the positive goodies!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Sunburst NYFW

I'm loving the love that everyone gave as I rocked out two shows on HSN for Sebago's Fall presentation today which is apart of an overall HSN Fall Showcase sponsored by Elle Magazine! By the time you have read this, I will be snoozing as I would have already completed my 5am show this morning which is the last of my visit until I am back next Spring with some fun items (including my line). With that said, I am (once I wake up) - fully vested in Fashion Week mode! I love dressing up for the shows, after parties and so much more. You'll see posts over the next few days showcasing some looks that I am absolutely in love with and Carnelian/Orange and a warm Citrine are always a favorite of mine. You can't go wrong with boho chic! I'm such a fan of Young, Fabulous and Broke as they are always on trend - ombre - obsessed. I'm loving the stacked bracelets with Helene Jewelry which has a nice ethnic vibe to it. Yesterday we talked about Giuseppe Zanotti and I love it in this hue. Finally, it's always about the cocktail ring and Dara Ettinger has a fab rock that is such a conversation piece. Whether you're heading to the runways or you're rocking your own runway sidewalk, we should all take advantage of fab hues, textures and warm weather items before we start applying our fun layers.
