Whether you do casual Fridays or you just like to be casual, there is no need not to have a sexy look at the same time. Yes it's Black Friday and with all the deals that are going on, this is a great excuse to start changing your look. You know I'm all about skinny jeans and a simple tank - who doesn't love the cardigan that is elbow length. A pop of yellow is a fun way to look cheery even when the days are a bit overcast. Add a cute bib necklace which has elements of vintage mixed in. Add a sexy femme edge with an over the knee boot (I love this pair) and of course a lush bag is a nice way to add a conversation piece that ensures that people will love you coming and going.

I love playing with tones of grey it's a gorgeous color to pair with others or alone. I love Juicy Couture's Peyton boot which is a very dark grey and over the knee which is one of my favorite looks. Cole Haan's Prudence bag (I have it in Red is my favorite and this was one of the best presents that I could have received this year! When it comes to jewelry I say silver all the way and the pop of citrine is just enough to have a little flash. I love going to Madison Ave to head to Judith Ripka and her collection is so large that you're bound to find just what your looking for! Of course this look comes together with skinny jeans or leggings and I love that you can pair a white tee with a nice grey wrap which is perfect if you're out and about or going out to a nice dinner. Not only are these key pieces but Bluefly is known for having fab pieces that are always available for what you need!

I love transitions! Throughout the next few weeks, you'll notice new topics on Kitten Lounge! Although our days will stay with the same themes, our concentration has slightly changed. On the days where we cover fashion, I always present complete looks that allow you to see how an outfit can be accessorized - in many ways it becomes a look book or guide that you can use. At the same time, I love the idea of creating ideas of key items that you should think about getting in your closet. These fall along the idea of trends whether we're talking next season or what should be in your closet this season! Going forward, our Fashionable Fridays will now include Fab Five. The Fab Five are the top pics of items that I believe you should know about and even if you don't get the exact pair, the body should be something that you should think about within your favorite brand!

I think a boot is essential for this weather and now with boot styles that incorporate cutouts, these can be worn whether you're in NYC or visiting friends in South Beach! My top three boot picks include Alexander McQueen's Grommet boot (perfect when you're look needs to have more of an aged or rocker look with edge), Dsquared2 Spectator Bootie (probably not good for our chilly NYC days; however, I love the old world style that is brought into today's look) and finally Vivienne Westwood's Roman Boot (the red color is so delicious and being a girl that loves hardware - this is a must even with the peep toe - I love this pair).

Now when it comes to heels you have two choices (of course this is assuming that you already have a fab black pair and a cute tortoise shell pair as well) a pump that has pops of color and one that is an alternative strappy one. The pair by Guiseppe Zanotti has bold stripes and would be perfect t wear with a pair of jeans and a neutral color top. Maybe you and your girls are flying down to South Beach to get away from the chills of NYC - this pair will get you in a Sunshine State of Mind. Of course if it's a night out, you may want to consider Cesare Paciotti's heels which bring the inner golden goddess out of all those that wear them.

Earlier this summer, I told you guys about a party that I had attended that launched new collaborations and styles that Charlotte Russe had incorporated into their collections. We are all familiar with Charlotte Russe; however, that night I could see that they had stepped into a new direction. In fact, one of the items in my goodie bag has made appearances at various events and girl's nights out as well (I love the bib necklace and the cuff that goes with it)!

This week I went to their Editor's preview and saw various accessories and outfits that will hit the stores of CR later on this month through Feb! When it comes to adding sparkle and bling there are plenty of dresses and tops that can be paired over leggings. There are quite a few cute options for footwear and the pieces are truly versatile. Above is a video of some of their key looks that you'll definitely want to pick up for later!

When you think the holiday season, people instantly think about NYC and their amazing holiday windows. Not to put anything against the holiday season but one of the things that I love most about the windows is that throughout the year you can see dynamic windows. On days where I have time, I love hitting the windows and seeing how everything is put together. Maybe I love it because once upon a time ago I was a Visual Merchandiser and I worked windows and setups for Gap, Abercrombie & Fitch (yes I opened the 5th Ave store) and American Girl Place (opened that store too on 5th Ave). Whenever my team would work on the windows at AGP, we always saw the Saks window team doing phenomenal displays and secretly I always wanted to be over there! Of course the epitome of windows (in my opinion) are those of Bergdorf Goodman! Whether it's the holiday or some amazing collaboration, I could stare at their windows for hours!

So, I found myself on a bit of a rainy day with nothing to do and realized that this week, the windows of Bergdorf Goodman would have the Douglas Little Dell X Adamo collaboration! This storybook themed display is my absolute favorite and I'm definitely salavating over the laptops! The last time I was this intrigued was when Vivienne Tam had the HP Mini red clutch laptops hit the runways of Fashion Week - but this is to an entirely different level!

I took the video on an evening (the best way to see any windows) when there weren't too many people (another good part of seeing windows outside of the holiday season is that you have a lot more access and less people around you) so I apologize for the bumps or if the sound isn't right.

The images that are placed throughout this post came from one of THE go to places when you're talking about windows, displays, finding jobs within this portion of the industry etc - Fashion Windows (more pics are also available here as well) and of course, Elle.com got in on the action as you can buy the laptops through them and you can see Erin Clements in detail comments about each of the laptops! Which one if my favorite - the Mother of Pearl of course would be perfect if I was trying to make an impression and had a super chic office! My everyday laptop would be the one within the Webmaster window as I would be less concerned about dirt!

It seems like forever a go but towards the end of the summer, I participated in my first reality show, To Be a Star! This show follows 6 aspiring models and shows them all the information they need to be a well packaged star beyond just being the model, dancer or actress that they aspire to be. I was in an episode as the Style Mentor and although the show isn't out just yet, I do have the trailer! Enjoy and yes you'll see me in the trailer (I'm at 2:07) which was so exciting! Whether you catch me at an event, see me talking to someone on a show or you just happen to catch me out, you know that clearly I'm all about style. When I'm out and about, people will ask what made me think of Kitten Lounge back in 2007 and I always let them know that Kitten Lounge actually originated as an Internet show back in 2004 when it covered my favorite artists and blended my love of fashion but even that is not an accurate description so I thought it would be good to tell you how it came to be and why it is such a driving force for everything that I do. First off, hi - I'm Kimmie, the Editor in Chief of this site and although I'm not really into the whole "Letter from the Editor" setup, it's nice to understand who is bringing you all of this content and why it's all here!

I fell in love significantly twice when I was younger the first time was at the age of 3 when I remember looking through Vogue and loving gorgeous dresses that showed me that you could be a princess everyday. For those that know my love for accessories, only the big baubles caught my eye! I loved going with my mom to fabric stores where she would make items from Vogue patterns into reality and when she later opened a boutique of custom design clothing in Indianapolis, I was in love. My world opened up to gorgeous brides, sequins, shantung, gaberdines and more and I had an AMAZING closet. That love came from my mother.

My father gave me a second love - at the age of 5, he taught me how to use a computer. We had an Apple and I loved it (don't ask me why I have an HP now although I have to give it some love too even though I continue to dream about a Mac book haha). I loved playing games on it and wondered what would the possibilities of that machine be? Who knew that in college one of my majors would be Telecommunications with a focus in New Media? Leaving IU and coming to NYC, I began doing PR for independent music artists who were only available online and I assisted them in getting spins and getting them booked. Why not, my Great Uncle was Joe Henderson, tenor saxophonist with Blue Note, Verve, etc so it was in my blood and I loved it. But then again fashion kept pulling me back in.

Is it true that I modeled (yes lingerie/swimwear), had a fashion line and currently have my own jewelry line Kitten Couture, and also assist firms with their Social Media via my other company Sikara Designs Group - check it all. But is it true that Kitten Lounge has been around more than two years? Absolutely. It initially came on board in 2004 as an Internet Radio show that I hosted daily for an hour each day for 3 years. Then I played DJ's who had crazy mixes and then talked with indie artists about their personal style. I loved it but realized after I began blogging for another site that I wanted to talk about more than just accessories on that site and do more than just host a radio show. The Kitten Lounge became my place to talk about fashion, style, beauty, food, music and travel. I believed that as a whole person all of this was important to me and that I wasn't alone.

I realized that I'm around stylish and amazing people who they need advice on where to go or how to dress when they are not in the settings that tend to go to all the time. People have always gravitated towards the way I present things and what better way then to introduce my world of showrooms, designers, industry shakers and more to you! Where do I go from here? Because of Kitten Lounge, I have been able to attend Fashion Weeks, go to Project, Magic, see private presentations, launches of all kinds and more. But I truly loved it when I made the cross over to personality when I shot an episode of To Be a Star which comes out later this year. Sharing the importance of accessories, finding your signature look and ultimately branding yourself was so important to me and to the 6 aspiring models that I worked with to achieve it, I'm very proud that I could be apart of that experience.

It is my goal and vision to continue to push various themes that are not only keys to my success but are core mental investments: I feel that accessories are an essential way to set yourself apart and that in the vein of Audrey Hepburn, you can take great classic pieces and look amazing. In addition, you can be someone that crosses over into a lot of areas (hello - I run a style blog, have my own jewelry line, create Social Media strategies for fashion/entertainment firms and am a personality as well) and yet still make it truly your own. Finally and most importantly, Kitten Lounge is about community whether it's introducing you to my favorites that you may not be aware of, reaching out via Twitter (@cocoabebe) or checking in with such favorites as the Holiday Gift Guide which launches Nov 1st (I can't wait to share the fab giveaways that we'll have, those who will be in the guide and a list on who to keep an eye out for in terms of industry must knows for your business). The experiences that I have had and those that will come have come to pass as I'm always open to reaching out, learning and helping someone else. In doing so it has created friendship, trust and has allowed me to interact with groups that I would have never come across if I had done it alone. The power of collaborations and having good people as your checks and balances definitely come in handy when you're running 300 miles an hour - no you're not crazy, you just know that you can do 48 hours of work in a 24 hour cycle and still go out to grab drinks and have a little fun! I want to thank everyone that has made this brand successful and who has been with me in each phase of re-invention that I have been through and look forward to sharing a lot of AMAZING items that are coming up soon!

I love showing various red carpet looks to give an idea of all the great looks from evening wear to casual that make their debut. Once again, we have a great piece from Dina Bar El (check out her last piece we covered) that was on Miss USA's 2007, Rachel Smith! This dress is a one shoulder dress that doesn't need a necklace (gasp I know as you know that I love accessories) and has great whimsical femme elements! This shrimp/coral color dress is a twist on the the LBD in that you can have one that is a color and yet a great staple. When it comes to accessories, I like the idea of pairing it with the wedges which give it a natural look, a stack of gold coil bracelets and this gorgeous clutch that has hues of gold, coral, shrimp and pops of red. Sometimes when you have a color that you don't know what goes with it, go natural and add colors that are similar to the tone that you're wearing! Of course, all of this took place at the premier of Couples Retreat which stars Xavier Tournaud!

Fashionable Fridays ~ Lauren Conrad Goes Beyond the Hills and LA Candy

I was never a Laguna Beach fan EVER but somehow when Lauren moved on to The Hills, I took the ride with her! We can all talk about the scripting but it's a fun show that definitely resonates with a lot of us when it comes to our friends, frenemies and whatever else travels within our circles. Season after season I enjoyed seeing her style and how it evolved. When she launched her first line, I was skeptical - at this point who hasn't tried bringing out a line? But when I covered Fashion Week in Sept 2008, I wore her line exclusively on and off camera! Her line had a great sense of style and fun! There are dresses that I still pack with me when I head to South Beach, Las Vegas, etc. Although I was sad to see her end the line, I knew that she would reintroduce her fashionable sensibilities whether it was a future collaboration or a new direction of the line.

As I read LA Candy this summer on a plane heading to Chicago (yes, I read the entire book on one flight simply because we spent three hours on the ground at JFK), I learned from a friend that she would have an affordable line, LC Lauren Conrad (once again this is yet another direction that many people are turning too) and if the above is any indication, this is yet another great line that has her written all over it. I love great basics that can travel with you and yet you can mix it in with various styles and price points. If you love layering and bringing a sense of California style to wherever you're heading, this line is for you. She definitely gets it and understand how people want to look and this way of dressing is conducive to various body types, heights etc. I am a full believer in a style that comes off as effortless and yet, you look you have had a stylist assist you in striking the right balance. I know this is something that I teach my clients and love seeing it represented here. As many of you know, when the temperatures drop, I begin to think about leaving for warmer climates; however, the fall chill isn't so bad so it's got me thinking about doing some snowboarding and having a weekend trip in the mountains! Being a fan of silver, I knew this was the perfect dress to feature for today's post and although she looks fabulous, I have to say that I would have went another way in the accessories department! I love the effect of blue with silver maybe because I associate the two colors with water and flow. To that end, I would have popped a little sapphire in it and I think no evening out can be complete without a little python! For those that are unaware - I will be 30 tomorrow! I don't even think about the fact that I have now entered a new decade! As usual I think about the most important thing - what will I wear to ring in my birthday in the only way that I know how? I love wearing simple pieces but when it's time to show out. I'm still in Vegas (we've been battling 100 degree temperatures) and will be heading home tomorrow to warm weather! So with that said, it seems crazy to think about the fall but before we can even blink, fall will be upon us - so I will provide some previews that you'll want to know about! I have definitely enjoyed seeing amazing brands and one of the new ones that I will be presenting on the site is Sledge USA! This is a fun graphic tee brand that is perfect on the days when I'm running around and/or traveling. These shirts have a bit of edge and although you could pair it with jeans, it can also be dressed up as well on days when you're out and about. I would definitely wear this during the fall and pair it with these super cute earrings from Virgins, Saints & Angels (which I was introduced to a few years ago and they have such an amazing array of jewelry). Yes it's raining in NYC but you don't have to look like a drip. On days like today, I like to make sure that everything is dry as I tend to do more errands in this weather! Today I'm doing the leggings and top combo so I wanted to find something that had that theme for this morning's post! It's not too rainy, so you can still wear heels and as I have a lot of rain gear, I'm able to make the ensemble work between what I'm wearing and the umbrella! Oh boy it's getting a bit hectic in a little over a week I will be heading West baby to Vegas with the rest of the Kitten Lounge team to check out all the fashion trade shows, nightlife, restuarants, spas etc and to cover it on Kitten Lounge! The team is excited and I love meeting new people and those that I never see accept via my social networks. The next few days are going to be hectic (taping my episode for a reality show, going to Vegas, turning 30 at the Loews in SoBe and of course Fashion Week - did I mention my new jewelry line is being worked on as well - woo take a breath) and I'm a big planner of outfits. I even get focused on my travel outfit as I want to be comfortable but in many cases, I hit my city of destination without stopping to change! So my new graphic love is Paul Frank (Karmaloop has a fab collection if you don't have a store in your area)! I love the comical characters you have to check out his site to learn their names but they're comfy, sexy (and if you buy the guy version that would be hot) and so appropriate to travel in! His pieces also have a surprise - love the detail of the back from the cinched area on top to the kisses at the bottom and for those that don't know, the monkey's name is Julius! The giraffe, Clancy is the cutest thing ever and how could you not have that to carry your mags and anything else for a flight from NYC to Vegas? I'm a new fan (about a year or so) of Hudson Jeans (get them at ShopBop as they have quite a collection) - they always fit right and you know I'm a Havaianas girl! I have these flipflops in black as I'm a little Brazilian so I love seeing the flag (I'm wearing them as I type them now) but I would love the green version to pair with this top. Of course, I'm al labout Ted Rossi and I have this python cuff it makes any casual outfit dressy! I can guarantee you that this is pretty much how you will see me as I love comfort and a bit of pop! When I'm not running around the city, I love my weekends when I'm hanging out at our beach house in Long Beach! That means wearing lounging clothes throughout the day (you know that I love Victoria's Secret and their Pink collection and this long tank is perfect), getting some reading done (Julie & Julia looks like such a great movie that I want to read the book first) and to enjoy some amazing beverages. These glasses are from CB2 and are in a set of 6 with these super cute vintage labels! Although it's definitely hot out there, in Long Beach there is always a bit of wind (and I'm always on the balcony) so having a hoodie is an essential for the residents of our beach village - one again, it has to be Pink. So with the weekend around the corner, I think that we all need to find a way to enjoy our days off in the most relaxing way possible!

Growing up in the midwest, I couldn't wait to finally come to the beaches of the east coast to spend copius days hanging out on the beach. I practically lived there and as I began hitting the Jersey Shores, then moving on to the islands, I knew that I could never be too far from the ocean. There's something relaxing about it and as I grew up, it was less about me running and jumping into the water. It was about bringing various events to the beach from laying out, having parties, etc. I have to say that I have seriously increased my beach wardrobe and now that I live in Long Beach, I enjoy watching the style of of those who visit and residents (much like when I go to SoBe - I love seeing how people dress up at the beach and oh yes, I'm one of them). So today, I bring you a semi active and snazzy beach approach. I have more bathing suits then I can count and yet, I continue to increase my collection. Casa Bikini has amazing suits of various colors and styles and I think my birthday suit (no seriously my birthday is Sept 12th and I will be in a cabana in South Beach and I absolutely love this bathing suit) will have to come from here. I love these Brazilian bathing suits and speaking of Brazil, a handbag designer that is new to me Brazilian designer, Flavia Sarno has AMAZING handbags and I'm a fan of her clutches (can't wait to include it within future spreads). I think having a gorgeous tote and a cute clutch is an absolute necessity. During the day, you must enjoy these handmade, Mother of Pearl flip flops from Bohemian Babe - based out of Hong Kong. This is perfect for walking about on the beach! For night or throughout the day in the cabana, I have to say that Jimmy Choo's Penelope is a great look! I think a bit of that 70's glam is perfect with a bathing suit and elongates the leg! To complete this fab look, I love this hook necklace by Cynthia Rowley that is apart of her Fashion and Accessories collection for Resort 2010! I've always wanted to go to Paris and Italy. I learned French in school and still read magazines in the language and yet I always felt like I wanted to learn Italian but with what time? The idea of sitting in a class definitely didn't make me feel comfortable and then I began to think about Rosetta Stone. I had always heard that it was a software that was easy to learn, visual and it allowed you to interact with it. So the mobility and being able to learn at my own pace while doing it in a natural way was a huge bonus and I knew that if I were to pick it up, this would be the best way. Now, this is going to be an ongoing series of posts which will fall on every other Friday! This week is the only week that you will not see a video with me using and speaking it so you can definitely see my progression! But what I felt was an essential point to understand before seeing me work with the software was the screenshots and the common ways that you learn the language. First, I love that they break words down and after they introduce you to vocabulary they will have a series of pictures and the speaker will say "una bambina" which means a girl. But this means that you have to click on the image that makes sense with the words. If you're right you go to the next one and if you're not you continue to click to find the next one. Upon clicking the right image, the words are said again. I found myself while finding and hearing the answer - saying the words along. This leads me to my second screenshot - pronounciation. I don't have to worry if I'm pronouncing it right as there are screens that require you to take the word "bambina" for instance and to break it up into "bam" and "bina". Not only do you get to see the vocal patter of the speaker but you also get to see yours and when you're not saying it right you have a better indication of where your pattern is versus the instructor's. This is essential as you need to know the flow of how these portions of the word are said as you will use them within other words and this is where you become stronger as a speaker. Finally, my favorite part are the scenarios. In the last screen shot, a couple are saying hello and you are required to answer back to them! Once again if you're right you move on and if you're not, you continue to say the right phrase until you move on. I have moved slowly through learning the language and I enjoy going to the manscreen to see what my lessons within a certain section will entail. I love typing out certain words when required and you really feel that you have a grasp of it and that you're retaining it. Click on the link within the spread to learn more about Rosetta Stone! In addition, every other Friday you'll see me use this at home, out and about and finally while I'm in Italy which will be later on this fall! I have enjoyed the experience so much that other languages that I want to pick up will also be learned in this manner as I feel it's not only effective but a lot of fun. Who doesn't have around 45 minutes to learn something and whether you're going to Italy or want to say your favorite meal at an Italian restaurant, it definitely comes in handy!

I love the Fourth of July and the fact that it's tomorrow, my boyfriend and I have decided that today will be a shopping day! I love when he decides to shop as that means we will have to make some stops at a few places to have a drink every now and then. Now when it comes to themes, I know people will want to find ways to wear red, white and blue without making it look like it comes off as a costume. So for all of those who will be at rooftop parties or anything of that nature, I though a simple white dress would be a nice look. Then, build your love of red and blue with your accessories. You have to decide are you a blue or a red person? I decided that I love blue so I would rather my purse have this color and allow my jewelry to bring in the red. I also love sapphires as this is my birthstone and didn't want the blue clutch to seem like an after thought so I brought in the necklace. You could do the same thing if you're a red person and just switch up the colors. Either way, this is a great Americana palette while also being perfect to wear with other item! Take some time to think about how you will show your pride tomorrow night! I'll be in Brooklyn tomorrow at an amazing roofdeck!

I remember the early days of growing up by shows. I loved Wonder Woman - you would find me running around with a towel around my neck and clanging my wrists together watching my favorite super hero getting the bad guy and looking fabulous. She was my walking talking Barbie doll who could do anything and be anywhere. Then you had my other two loves Charlie's Angels and Michael Jackson! Forget about the fact that Farrah Fawcett was only in one season of Charlie's Angel's! I loved that she had that California girl next door quality. She was beautiful and yet it didn't go to her head - don't even get me started on her hair and the easy going smile! It was through her that I loved the idea of looking very put together and yet having that windswept look. Women to this day run to get that hair and easy sense of style. She will be missed and it's sad to know that I heard her pass yesterday morning! Twitter was full of activity as a huge icon passed last night! 50 years old and with a tour in the works (I even read that he was working on a move that would eclipse the moonwalk or even his gravity defining lean) - Michael Jackson passed away. I'm from Indiana as is Michael and just to be clear, I am only speaking of him as an entertainer and performer - he was the best! He sang, he created mini movies with his videos and knew how to be true to his style even as it changed around him with the increase of rap, alternative and hip-hop! MTV gained a lot of their audience base from his "World Premier Videos". Yet, he continues to make these videos that everyone would crowd around the tv to watch as it premiered on MTV (although earlier in the day they would play videos about how fans loved him, previous material and more). He taught me a lot! It doesn't matter where you come from but if you have a gift, it can be shared and you don't have to work it into what the trend is - be your own trend. When it came to fashion, Michael, yet again had his own take. Who else could wear socks where everyone knew he had very white ones that his pants didn't cover? He made the arm band chic and yet added an element of military to it - what exactly was he fighting against? He made sequins cool and he knew that the right jacket - oh yes the Thriller jacket - could set off an entire look (I remember going to school with a kid with a Gizmo backpack and a Thriller jacket - he was the coolest of the cool in first grade). I sat at home with my View Finder flipping through the scenes of Thriller and always freaking out when I got to the part where he was the werewolf! But he knew about the power of theme and accessories! Whether he rocked black and white, a cool hat or a sequined glove, people rocked the style. With so many performers that tip their hat to Michael, he will never be forgotten. His body of work will continue on with songs that continue to be relevant and placed in a period of time where we all suspended our disbelief! Farrah will continue to be known as that girl from next door who had just the right mix of sexy, cool and spunk that you would want as a bestie and at the same time as the crush that if you got up enough courage would say yes! RIP to two icons that exist within and outside of their generation!

Fashion and style isn't just about what you're wearing on your back! It's about the flair that you show no matter what you're up to. I'm all about going to back to basic ideas and what about planning an amazing picnic lunch for Central Park, Prospect Park or wherever you're storybook park resides! Think about getting a cute retro bike, a basket to carry a lunch filled with cheese, crackers, fruits, etc, a blanket so that you can play Scrabble (for some people you better bring your laptop so that you can access your Scrabble dictionary as some people like to test you on whether your tiles are a word) and of course your favorite wine!
