One of my favorite designers is Theia whether I'm wearing it for my appearances or just seeing it embraced by celebs and people in the know! I love that this line's premise is on goddesses and each season they bring a new goddess as the muse for the entire collection. Last week, I shared with you their inspiration - Athena! We know this goddess as someone who is powerful, bold and a protector in many ways! I was backstage at this show which had Dashing Diva doing nude nails! In addition, I fell in love with the hair of this show fun loose braids with many of the girls wearing beaded "helmuts" that enhanced the overall look!
Watch the final model walk to see a number of items from this look!
My travel schedule is all over (not that it's because I write about travel directly but my work takes me all over between design projects, appearances and TV - it's a luxury to definitely be home in NYC) and even when I'm in the city I'm in brand meetings on top of the shoots with all the launches coming up this fall and holiday. So it's not often that I get to be out and about to have fun with people I don't see as often as I would like to! Amy, of Midtown Girl is also the founder of Socialista NY a group that allows fashion influencers and bloggers to come together and engage with one another. Amy's first event took place at the UGG Showroom in the Crown Building and did I mention that they have a fabulous wrap around terrace! This event allowed us to mingle, nibble on fab appetizers and enjoy sangria, margaritas and more. In addition, we all enjoyed getting manis and pedis via Spa Chicks on the Go. It definitely came at a fab time since I had a photoshoot the next day and even as the rain began to fall at the end of the night, we took the party inside! Throughout the night, I took a sneak peek at UGG's Fall 11 offerings. This brand is about much more then the pull on shearling boots that we're familiar with. I am obsessing over many of the handbags, jackets and stacked heels that are available. In a few days I will include info on their new launch since I am attending this in early August but know that it's super cute. It was definitely a fab event and one that definitely sets the tone for future Socialista NY events!
Every time she accomplishes something, you can see that she has added another gold Ippolita bangle to her wrist! I love accessory obsessions that keep you moving forward!
Her restaurants are as global as the locations that she visits! Carmindy loves the grilled fresh octopus, Greek salad and local wine that is found at Dimitris on Ammoudi Bay in Oia Santorini Greece!
One of the most down to earth people that I have met who works in the industry is Carmindy! If you watch TLC's What Not to Wear, you know that for the past 9 years, she has been bringing out the inner beauty that has already existed within her clients. Beyond that she has been a make up artist on a variety of shoots and continues to share her love of natural beauty. As you know, a few weeks ago, Carmindy was apart of a Ponds Beauty event at the Columbus Hotel. I always enjoy being able to sit and chat with her; therefore, I thought she would be perfect to include on our Mingling Mondays of Influencers!
I love that Carmindy loves food as much as I do! Why just have one favorite spot when you can go all over the globe. Above you can check out her fave place in Santorini (have always wanted to go there) as well as in Miami (I can never go enough) but when she's here in NYC, she loves L'Artusi and anything on the menu is fair game when it comes to a fab meal here! While we maintain some of her locations that we're bound to catch her, when she finally comes up for a little air, you'll find her and her boyfriend vacationing in Croatia this summer - so cute! She's also love to spend time in New Zealand, Nepal and Sri Lanka. When you're traveling all over, her personal love of dressing in modern greek goddess/siren dresses means that you're light on packing and always ready for whatever the day will take you! I also love love love this trend as well.
When you're this busy and hopping to be on set, various locations as well as appearances, it's a no brainer that her iPhone is a must to keep her connected when she's jetsetting; however, she wishes that it had better international plans. Her fave app is The Lose it App which ensures that she stays on track with her diet.
With all of her travels and interests, I wanted to know what the biggest take away is for Carmindy due to her work on What Not to Wear. She said that, "helping women feel beautiful starts with getting to see themselves with fresh eyes not just slapping makeup on them. It's so much deeper than that." I think that that is such a positive boost and one that we should all think about when we're out and about each day. I also love that her love of beauty is being incorporated into another goal (which very well could result in an Ippolita gold bangle) where she hopes to start her own line of nutracosmetics like Borba with her Carmindy twist! That's a line that I would love to see!
She loves to vacation in the Cote D'Azure in the South of France when it's time to have some much needed down time!
La Petite Maison in Dubai is where you can find Aiisha dining on some of her favorites! For an appetizer, she loves Burreta (mozerrella cheese with cream), Tomates and Basil. She also loves the Beef Carpaccio topped with drizzles of black pepper and olive oil which compliments the taste of the beef. Of course the rest of the meal, she's open to wherever her taste buds take her!
I have been a fan of Aiisha Ramadan for a number of years. This Dubai based designer brings an amazing touch of feminine and fun elegance to her pieces! With an eye for detail and knowing how women want to feel when they are glammed up, it's no wonder that she has done so well within her signature looks. I had the honor of wearing one of her iconic pink dresses to New Years Eve this year and felt like an island princess floating in soft material with just enough bling that allowed me to stand out! In addition, she's known for her phenom caftans which I told you about that Joan Collins wore for her recent appearance in Palm Springs Life Magazine. If you happen to be in Dubai, you must pop by her boutique or see one of her fashion shows! As we do each Mon, read above and below to find out more about the fab designer that you may not be aware of!
In the midst of designing and thinking of the next best concepts, I love knowing that both Aiisha and I share the same guilty pleasure of French Fries and the need to wear high heels that one can debate are comfortable or not! The app that she's loving on her phone right now which I'm sure is good to pass the time when you're traveling is Angry Birds but when it comes to staying organized, I agree that like her, I would be lost without my calendar. This design diva's personal trend is Little White Dresses (LWD) and very trendy shoes. I definitely would love to see her closet as I can only imagine.
In terms of the collection, she dreams to see it in Paris which would definitely be an amazing step. But for now, she's a busy lady as she is focusing on the collection in Dubai and has plans for it to begin popping up in other countries!
If you enjoyed finding out about Aiisha, then make sure to check last week's Influencer, Kimmie (me) of Kitten Lounge!
My guilty pleasure, personal trend and more is wrapped up in Virgins, Saints and Angels! I have loved this brand since 2006 and have loved this ring in Turquoise (which I now own via Paul getting it for me) which is PHENOMENAL! I love cocktail rings and I talk with my hands a lot. As an Accessories Expert, I believe bigger is always better if you can rock it!
Time is a rare commodity for me and although I travel to a number of places, I think some vaca time in St Barths with Paul would be amazing - hopefully we can slot that time in! I became inspired after attending Assouline's Press event.
My Sony Bloggie Touch is amaze - it takes pics and videos and connects to my laptop via USB! It keeps me connected to events, allows me to do quick vids of myself and I take pics in a flash - it's a must for my daily needs!
Happiness is 5 Napkin Burger which isn't too far from my apartment! I love their Original Burger OR Ahi Tuna with tater tots and a side of cream spinach! I always leave happy!
You hear from me daily from what I love to what I think that you guys would definitely love - so it was inevitable that I would also share some items that you may not know about me. As you know, I'm the Editor in Chief of Kitten Lounge which brings you fashion, style, beauty, travel and decor every day! In addition, I'm also an on air personality as you've caught me on HSN (there in Feb 2011 and will be back on air Memorial Weekend - May 27th and May 28th!) for Sebago as well as being a design collaborator for Kimmie Smith x Sebago Fall 11 and I just got back from DR and finished my Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12! Beyond that, I also have my own clients that I style which is always fun to be able to bring my sense of style to their own sensibility. In addition, I love all of the amazing people that I have had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with from Iman, Carmindy (What Not to Wear), Steven Cojocaru or Cojo and so much more! I'm always traveling whether it's to cover for the site or for a project that I am working on so there isn't a lot of rest in my world! This summer there will be quite a lot of work but thankfully, many of you will get to see it as I'll be on TV a lot more and I have some phenomenal partnerships as well. Simply put, I'm always inspired by something and the above will give you a little more insight about me!
The ability to juggle my work, friends and personal life - I'm loving my HTC Google Phone which allows everything to be synced up in seconds. I do so much that's Google based from emails, calendars, translators and more my laptop and phone work is easily integrated which allows me to stay on top of everything! I live for the old school taking notes in terms of ideas that I think I may want to come up with and since I'm always talking to amazing people, it allows me to adjust my Inspiration Boards as well as my Editorial Calendars to ensure that it all makes sense. Although I'm constantly being pitched, I also have my own projects that I'm always planning to come on board (Kimmie's Gimmie's was a fab idea that has now grown to monthly events). You never know when an idea pops up and if it's in the area of "Living the Lifestyle", then it's something that works within the aesthetic of the Kimmie and Kitten Lounge brands!
Also on Self's HBAs (unexpected but loved) Beyonce Heat Gold Sparkling Body Lotion. Alex didn't think that a lotion with a fragrance and gold sparkles would have been so loved by readers!
Alex is obsessed with Batiste Hair! I included this in Kitten Lounge's Kimmie's Gimmies Spring Breah Tweet Up, but it's also in Self's Health and Beauty Awards as well! I agree having dark hair, this dry shampoo doesn't leave white spots behind.
Next vacation on her list - Marrakech!
24 may be no longer but she just got bitten by this action packed show and via the wonders of Netflix, she can get in on the fab episodes! Working with fab ladies every day is fun - but this is where she gets in a little testosterone!
Self Magazine Beauty Team: Runa Bhattacharya, Nicole Catanese, Elaine D'Farley (Beauty Director, SELF), Alex Samuel, Pia Battacharya
Happy May! The week and month has just begun and yet there are so many things that are going on! So of course we had to think how to get fully ready and amaze looking for the summer! Of course, beauty is the best way as there are tons of fab products out there but with so many to choose from, we could all use a little help. You can also check out our faves from Self Magazine as they just released their Health Beauty Awards for 2011 on this week's Trendy Thursdays post! With all of that intel, we had to take a moment to chit chat with Alex Samuels, Beauty Editor of Self Magazine and to find out about what she's into and what guilty pleasures we should know about!
We all have that meal that gets us and leaves us salivating for it even if we can't get our hands on it! For Alex, she loves Pala Gluten Free Pizza whether it's the etna pie or the arrabbiata depending on her mood (always good to have a back up morsel)! Seriously. she has dreams about it! Of course as I always say what you love to eat vies for first or second place with what keeps you connected! It's no surprise that Alex's iPhone is key! Now when I want to know how to get around the city, you'll find me using a combo of Google Maps or HopStop but Alex just took navigation to another level! Since she lives in Brooklyn, she's always on the subway and ExitStrategy lets her know where she needs to be on the subway in order to be close to her desired exit! Not only is this super efficient and convenient but there's no trial in error - ie continuing to take the same line to figure out the best way to stand! Beauty and brains is always a good thing in my book!
Last month at Spa Week's Media party, everyone was buzzing about Hair Feathers and at the event, you had the opportunity to get them! They add a little panache to your overall look! Stacey Gersten put these on her and she has been receiving compliments daily since then - it's such a cute trend and perfect for summer! Check out above to see more of her loves and what readers said about a few of the products that were included in Self Magazine's Health and Beauty Awards for 2011 which is based in the ultimate best of the best beauty recommendations of 2,200 SELF readers in 48 states who tested 1,187 new products that have been developed over the past year to determine the top picks for Hair, Face, Makeup, Body and Sun products! The 87 winners that are included within this list standout from a possibly overwhelming beauty aisle! Self takes it a step further for ease of shopping with the ability to download the full list on Self.com! With over 62% of SELF readers relying on word of mouth for their beauty purchases, it gives you a great way to know what's out there! This Thursday, I will share some of my favorites from the list as well!
Can you believe this is the last Mon in April? We continue showcasing amazing influencers that I am a fan of. Today, it's all about Aljoud Lootah, founder and designer of Niftee. Back in 2007, while at Dubai Women's College, she established a fun brand that now includes various r-shirts, totes, cashmere scarves and even personalized cashmere baby blankets! Her personalized projects have appeared in the UAE Cup Series, TEDxDubai, Harper's Bazaar Arabia and within Dubai culture. We're loving that Aljoud, who obviously adores her iPhone 4, designed a new iPhone cover at the Art Dubai's DXB Store launch! Of course when you design something for the iPhone, you have a few apps that you adore. Aljoud loves her apps for Style.com (true fashionista), she stays color perfect while using myPantone, pictures become super fun when using Instagram (I know my boyfriend Paul is a huge fan of this) and BigOven which has fab recipes! But it's not all about business, above and below you'll find out more about Aljoud from riding horses to loving The Gramercy in Dubai's International Financial District (yet another place that I am adding to my must see list when I visit Dubai)!
When it comes to fashion, she loves prints, patterns and floral pieces. When she's not being busy, her favorite vacation spots are in Paris and the south of France. But of course as much as we dream about being in dreamy places, we think about where we'd like to see our work. Aljoud would love to have Sheikha Moza bint Nassir AlMisned, wife of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa AlThani (Emir of the State of Qatar) wear her scarves as she feels it would be a dream come true! She believes that she is a true fashion icon with exquisite sense of style. Currently she is working on a new concept for the FW2011-2012 collection of cashmere scarves, tops and more. She is working on commissioned jobs for various organizations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi (corporate gifts).
As an Accessories Expert, I'm always sharing my essential accessory picks with everyone and I naturally gravitate towards those that are accessory designers. A few years ago I remember Sabina reaching out to me about her scarves and weeks later, I found myself at the Soho House at a trunk show and happened to meet the designer and her printed scarves without knowing that she would be there! From then on, we'd run into each other, I'd share her trunk shows taking place at Bloomingdale's in Soho or at Henri Bendels! Recently, we were both at a phenomenal event for the book launch of Always in Style which included her scarves within the styling. I'm always happy to see and hear her so above as always, you can find out more about Sabina Les who is bringing back the love of scarves, prints and just a new way to showcase ourselves! Find out her favorite loves and of course we;ll fill in the rest here!
She's a super busy lady and of course you can catch her at her trunk shows in Henri Bendels this month April 20th - 23rd and 27th - 30th! With so much going on, we love that she's as attached to her iPhone as I am with my HTC and like many of us, her next step to stay connected fashionably is to start rocking an iPad (I suggest creating some kind of a case that has the printed scarf look to it). Both her iPhone (and I'm sure iPad) will keep her organized with Evernote, Twitter, Dictation, Solitaire and Sudoku (sometimes organization needs to have some fun in there too).
The success of Sabina Les can't be denied as she is in the Accessories Council and has been featured on the Today Show, Elle and so much more. So of course, I wanted to know what will be coming up for this progressive designer! First off she explained that, "I'd love to see a confident and fashionable woman rocking my scarves. A dynamic woman who appreciates the versatility of a great fashion accessory like any of my scarves." I love knowing that she loves the everyday woman as much as any celeb that is rocking her pieces. In the future, you can expect, "silk cocktail purses and jewelry to the brand. Also, my first introduction into home market with silk printed cushions." Without question, pop into her trunk show and of course start rocking her pieces whether in your outfits or within your home!
You'll find her heading back to Mumbai for vacation and she has amazing pics on her iPhone from her travels with Marla and locals!
Andrea creating the first step in her collection, Marla
She loves the carrot cake at 10 Downing!
If you haven't checked out the windows of Bond St (they went up this weekend), then you're missing out as there is an amazing installation of handbag designer and artist Andrea Tobin who has created the phenomenal line, Marla Cielo. In essence she paints amazing pieces on her canvas of fabrics and then cuts them into bags! This way you have something from a very specific collection while also having a one of a kind piece at the same time! We had to sit down and talk with this phenom designer and artist and find out the usual questions that have our interest!
Of course you can't have a conversation without asking someone about their favorite meal and based on her description alone, I'm super excited to try out what Andrea loves, "My mind keeps going straight to dessert so I’m going to run with it – the carrot cake at 10 Downing. The frosting is the best I’ve ever tasted, not too sweet but perfect consistency, and last time it came with caramel ice cream which was to die for. I also love the vibe of the restaurant and appreciate the owner’s efforts to showcase original works of local and established artists on the walls. In my world, carrot cake and artwork go hand in hand." I have a few guilty pleasures but I love that her #1 pleasure especially in the winter is her ‘movie in a bath’ routine. She props a screen on her sink at the perfect vantage point from the tub, turning off the lights, sipping red wine, and watching a movie, or lately multiple episodes of Mad Men, for probably too many hours at a time. What a great way to enjoy fashion and style all in the same place! Just like most of us, where would we be without phones, her iPhone allows her to take tons of photos and videos and post them simultaneously to Facebook and Twitter (thank you Hootsuite). Travel is a big part of the Marla brand and nothing makes her happier than bringing her to new places and filming or photographing her with the locals. She captured some great iPhone content in India over the holidays and the photos have been priceless. Along with loving the phone for her connections, she loves Cheers to Swipe. This app keeps her very happy and relatively organized, at least with the financials. Swipe is directly linked to her merchant account and then a little console for her phone so she can accept credit cards and process transactions on the fly. Each purchase takes under 3 seconds and the app logs all the payment history so she can easily add everything up when it’s time to report income to the authorities. Love this and super essential to know!
She has such a passion and love for Marla. "I love what she stands for and I love that the fashion and consumer market is in line with her goals. My biggest devotion is original art as fashion and I truly believe in the energy that is created when products are made from scratch. There is an overwhelming sense of purpose that comes from creating and building things hands on and I’m thrilled that this concept is making a comeback." Although she is adding her mark to the fashion and art industries, we all need a break so I had to know, where is she going on her next vacation - "Funny I was just thinking about that. I’m dying to go back to Mumbai, I only got a night there when I was in India this winter. Other than that, Namibia is probably next on the list. I got a chance to see wild elephants and a tiger in Mysore and I’m dying for another opportunity to watch big game animals in their natural environment and to study their social habits and patterns."
With some one doing so much we have to know what to excpect. Look out for more gadget related bags and computer / Ipad sleeves from Marla and hold your breath for ‘Marla for Man’, she's so excited to launch a line of accessories that bring original art and Marla’s inspiration to men’s pockets and murses... If she had the opportunity to have anyone as the face of her brand, "same answer every time, Helena Bonham Carter. I love the spirit she reflects in her movies and I know she would connect with the deeper social and artistic goals of Marla Cielo. Maybe you can give her a ring for me ☺."
Colin's fave restaurant is his friend's Fish 'n Chips place which is super authentic @ 112 Greenwich Ave (12th/13th sts)
It's a new month and it's another Monday! Today I'm introducing you to my favorite mixologist, Colin Asare-Appiah of U'Luvka Vodka. You can also find him as one of the stars of Discovery Travel Channel's Cocktail Kings! Whether he's out pouring, traveling with the brand, being included in Jason Bell's "An Englishman in New York", etc we had to ask him about his style, how we can stay in touch with him and what's on his horizons! Enjoy the spread above with some tidbits and then continue on below!
When you travel as much as Colin does, he wants to make sure that his fans around the globe stay connected with him by getting his iPhoneTwitter app so that you know everything that is going on with him! As he globetrots around the world he LOVES LOVES LOVES his Thomas Pink shirts!!! Colin says, "in fact the new one from the prestige collection in dapper houndstooth is perfection - natty, navy, crisp and dare I be cheeky here? I swear I've seen our Wills photo'd in it (Prince William - aka groom to be of the gorgeous Kate Middleton). NEVER felt nattier". I'm guessing that this means it's definitely on trend and super cute!
Although he's always traveling, JAMAICA. JAMAICA. JAMAICA. Perfection on earth. His paradise found. Cannot get there often enough. Hand him an Angoustura Rum (from Trinidad) Mai Tai and he's in heaven. Of course on the horizon, he will continue to travel here, there and everywhere in search of the next perfect cocktail wherever it may be found...Stay tuned to The Cocktail Kings on TV's The Discovery Channel and you'll see where we go next... Of course he hopes all roads will lead him to Jamaica.
Rana of Reina Style talks Yellow Tail, heels, IPad and her collection!
Heels dress up any look!
She stays connected with her iPad as it's perfect for professional and personal uses - plus it fits in her bag!
Guilty Pleasure!
Okku is a fab Japanese restaurant and lounge in Dubai.
When it comes to bringing fun style to Dubai and the rest of the world, you definitely have to add Reina Style to the list as they're a fun site that focuses on style that's perfect for Summer, Resort and Cruise! The fab Rana runs this brand and with a girl with that much style, I had to sit down and find out some fun facts about this Dubai fashionista! With boutique locations in the Middle East and being available online, we know that she knows a thing or two about jetsetting! I know that when I come to Dubai, I'm going to have to have her fave meal of Yellow Tail Carpaccio at OKKU which is known for their intimate vibe and stands out against such chains as Nobu according to Chow Dubbai.
When she's not working hard on Reina Style, you have to wonder how this fashionable lady stays in great style! She loves leggings since they are not only comfortable but they come in amazing colors. Of course she has a passion for shoes which make this look super chic while staying fabulous!! Although she's always up for heading to the beaches of Monaco, I had to know about her swimwear collection as many of you know that I will be doing a new photoshoot and showcasing fab bathing suits! She was inspired by the glamour of the world’s most exotic beaches and cosmopolitan trends, Reina resort collection has launched a swimwear line for the fashion-conscious world traveler who wants to look at ease while remaining stylish and sexy. Through luxurious fabrics, flattering fits and couture designs, Reina swimwear evokes self confidence and beauty in any woman. Offering styles that are both simply chic or dazzling in color and detail, each piece is sure to turn heads, while on holiday. WIth such a fab following of celebs as well, Rana feels that it’s a stepping stone and a mark of achievement! She feels grateful and driven to produce better and bigger collections to come. Although she is trailblazing, I wanted to know what's next for her and the collection. She is growing the collection in terms of styles and cuts, also expanding the line to cover-ups (kaftans and wraps), head and hair accessories and they will add some hair wraps to complete the beach-chic look.
Sinead's all about the 4G speed of her G2 as well as stays connected with the Android TweetDeck where she manages her accounts @Beautisol, @SelfTanQueenand @Ifabbo.
Launching on HSN April 19th!
Sinead Norenius, founder of Beautisol and IFABBO
Living in San Francisco, Sinead is in a culinary zone but she loves Pesce, located in the Russian Hill area. She craves their spaghetti tuna Bolognese pasta and their fresh oysters! The Sgroppino (Blended lemon sorbet, prosecco and a touch of vodka) blended by Louis sounds like a treat!
I love that in my work, I'm able to meet so many creative people and it always makes me happy when I get to meet strong women who enjoy living life and really utilizing all of their skills. During Fashion Week, I happened to meet Sinead Norenius, a 16 year beauty industry veteran and licensed esthetician who founded and formulated Beautisol which is a leader in sunless tanning and suncare. Beyond having this product, she also believes in the importance of educating her customers about beauty via social medie, videos and easy directions when using her products. In addition, she is the Editor in Chief of Self Tanning Queen and with her beauty and social expertise, she founded iFabbo (International Organization for Beauty Fashion and Lifestyle Bloggers) which unites the leaders, brands and online influencers in the fashion, beauty and lifestyle industries. The aim is to promote individual and professional growth while also setting standards and guidelines for the industry. This powerhouse wonder woman like any other woman has a number of items that she adores when she's not rocking the beauty industry. Enjoy the tidbits above and tune into her upcoming appearance on HSN (loving my fellow HSN'ers) when she launches Beautisol's Need I Glow More Self Tanner for Face for Normal to Oily Skin. It is the first-ever skin type specific face self tanner on the market and will launch on HSN April 19th.
In between all the busy behavior, our glam girl Sinead enjoys sleeping in on the weekends and then catching up on all the Real Housewives episodes (regardless of cast - I must admit that I love this as well as many of you know my love for many of the reality shows on Bravo) while eating Hagen Daas’s Mint chocolate ice-cream. That pretty much sums up heaven for her! Her fave accessory that she loves is her engagement ring which she knows goes with everything.
Maybe soon we will find Sinead in Italy with her family and a couple of her friends once all the craziness of Beautisol’s launch on HSN settles down. The chance to go with all her nearest and dearest would be an amazing vacation for her! While thinking about vacationing, it made me wonder what is her number one tip when it comes to caring for yourself after receiving a sunless tanner and in one word - Buff! Sinead suggests that after you have applied self-tanner to your entire body, take a dry wash cloth and gentle buff areas that tend to grab a lot of product such as the wrists, elbows, knees and the ankles. It is always better to be slightly lighter in these areas than darker.
As someone who works for herself, I am always asked why I like what I do and of course had to ask her. Sinead loves that she is able to work with such an incredible team. She's blessed to interact daily with some of the most intelligent, brightest and creative people she knows! The team at Beautisol inspires her everyday when she walks into the office and she's more determined than ever to make them a lot of money. She feels that it's so rewarding to walk into the office and see all the progress that has been made and it is such an incredible rush to know it is for your own company. But it's not all serious work, she loves that she get to paint the office walls any color she likes! Of course she chose green and pink! It’s the little things! : )
Jene loves the Tory Burch boutique especially the one in the MPD!
Her fave bra - Frederick’s of Hollywood Xtreme Cleavage Bra!
She stays connected with her Blackberry Bold, iPad (which has apps for Gilt Groupe & Rue La La) and is never without her Pink Dell XPS
Jene doesn't cook but when her hubby doesn't dish it up in the kitchen, you can find them eating out - Serafina's menu has all her favorites!
Last week, I popped over to Restaurant i to meet up with friends on a rainy night and to attend Jene Luciani's party as one of the newest people to become a Bravo-lebrity! Much like Jene, I have a huge love for reality shows (I'm definitely hooked on a number of shows) and although she also loves New Kids on the Block (she's seen them 7 times), she hit the pink carpet to a room filled with those that love this Style Correspondent that has appeared on a number of shows and included within many of our favorite weeklies! On this night, she was showcasing her book, The Bra Book going digital!
At the event, she appeared in a corset/bra ensemble made by Project Runways, Chris March! Bedecked in feathers and Swarovski Crystals - she looked phenom (I do love that her personal style love is sequins - who doesn't love glitz and glam)! Take some time to find out more about this fab lady above from how she stays connected to what she loves. This busy lady is always working so she makes sure that every trip has a bit of a mini vacation in it especially when it's in a fun climate.
Jessica stays connected and couldn't be without her iPhone and loves playing Backgammon - there's an app for that! You can also download the SI app to vote for your favorite model to get a spot in the 2012 Swimsuit edition AND to see who is in this year's issue!
She's always craving this guilty pleasure!
Jessica's Favorite Meal: It can be found in Brooklyn at Bahia, a Salvadorian restaurant at 690 Grand Street in Williamsburg. She loves the cheese & bean pupusas!
As promised, Mingling Mondays are now focused on meeting people within the fashion industry and various influencers. You'll find out about special things they're working on and the burning questions that I love asking people when I get the chance to meet up with them for a quick chat. Each week there will always be something new so I'm super excited to kick it off with a personal favorite - Jessica Perez. In case you may have missed it, she's a Victoria's Secret and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model and she is currently 1 of 8 girls that's in a competition as she attempts to be included in the International Sports Illustrated 2011 Model Search where the winner is guaranteed a spot in the 2012 issue. From the beginning, she has been ahead in the votes but with the last day being this Wednesday, you can still make your vote count by clicking here as well as finding out a little bit more about this Costa Rican born beauty who lives right here in NYC (coming to the US after living in Ecuador and Honduras).
Between all the photoshoots and travel, I love knowing that sometimes the happiest things are those that are simplistic - her guilty pleasure is a coke and she's always craving it. Just like I have my favorite go to jewelry that you never see me without, she always wears her black leather ring and when she's not looking phenom in her bikinis, she loves rocking comfy skinny jeans and a button down boyfriend shirt! I remember the first time I went to the Dominican Republic and had the pleasure of staying in Punta Cana for 9 days - it felt like a completely different planet. So of course the fact that I go to DR for work in creating my line, I can definitely see how Jess loved when she had the opportunity to go for work and can't wait to go back there just to enjoy the amazing beaches there! Take some time to check out some other fun facts about Jess above from her fave meal in Brooklyn at Bahia to her love for Bioderma and more! Of course, remember to vote for her so that she can be apart of the International Sportswear Illustrated Issue in 2012!
