Sippin Saturdays ~ A Few Words

I can't believe that the summer starts on Monday but I wanted to thank everyone for making Kitten Lounge an amazing success as we go into this summer! We have a lot going on that I can't wait to share with all of you (behind the scenes stuff, heading to Japan, couture and so much more) and already our fall is looking fabulous! Please make sure to follow us on Facebook as the Kitten Lounge will begin to have exclusives posted on there that will not be on this site! If you're weekend is as gorgeous as mine, make sure to take some time to enjoy the fab weather and look fabulous when doing it! Love the necklace - we've gotten positive feedback as the sales of this necklace (that I make by hand) from Kitten Couture go to supporting the Picasso Veterinary Fund. Medical care can be administered to NYC's shelter pups and cats so that they're not euthanized and can be given to families! This is a huge initiative on this site and thank you to those that are supporting this and those that will purchase this necklace in the future. Find out more here and then visit Kitten Couture to buy one of your very own whether you wear it as one long chain or double or triple it up!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Memorial Weekend Essentials

I have been rocking the heck out of these pieces over the past few weeks! I never knew I loved Fedora's so much but I have been seen going to a number of places with it on. It lets me bring in some Miami love to wherever I happen to be so that's a new accessory that I am quickly adding into my look for 2010 (it's all about change you know) and these sunglasses by Marc Jacobs have been in my look for the past few seasons! I love wearing them as I feel definite star power with them on. He has a fab pair of aviators that I can't wait to start wearing. The Chandelier thong (which also comes in a heel and I won this too) is probably one of my favorites. You can wear them with jeans and a tee or with a maxi - the look is beyond phenomenal! Of course the necklace, I created from my own line, Kitten Couture (you can learn more and buy here) and a portion of the proceeds go to the Picasso Veterinary Fund so that shelter pets can receive medical care and avoid getting euthanized! It's a huge cause that I support and you look amazing when you wear this doubled or tripled up!

Wearable Wednesdays ~ Help Me & Whitney Help Puppies & Kitties

Buy Whitney & Help Kitten Lounge & Kitten Couture support the Picasso Veterinary Fund ~ $50.00

Quantity

Every little bit helps and seeing that in a few weeks I will be getting my own puppy which is super exciting. In my search to find our newest member of our household, it made me sad to think of all those that don't have homes. Even sadder, was the idea that these pets may need medical care while they are waiting to find their families when they're in shelters. It is my intention to help in any way possible by supporting the Picasso Veterinary Fund of NY. Their job is to make sure that if homeless animals need medical attention due to extreme need, they get it and are able to stay in the shelters so that they can still be apart of your potential family! I think this is a great organization. Fashion is meant to help not only in making ourselves feel better but why not give a little?

My jewelry line, Kitten Couture launched Whitney this summer which is a super long necklace that you can wrap 2 - 3 times to create a great layered effect. It has natural stones, wood and shells. In making this necklace, a portion of the proceeds and provide it to this fund. For the price of $50, you get a fabulous necklace handmade by me (please note that this will be completed within a week) and 20% will go to this important fund! It's a great benefit for everyone and at the end of the day, for cats and dogs throughout the city! Please forward this post to friends, family, etc and I hope to see a variety of Whitney's being made and displayed throughout the city as a show of support to help our four legged friends!

If Whitney isn't your cup of tea, we are creating a Friends of Picasso Veterinary Fund where you can purchase a link to show your support for $30 and we will link back to your site, blog etc! Please feel free to do this option if you would like!

Support & Get a Link on Kitten Lounge's Friends of Picasso Veterinary Fund ~ $30.00

Treasure Tuesdays: Project Accessory ~ Take Up Space

Project Accessory is a series of posts in a year long project which looks to present designers and their pieces to Kitten Lounge's readers while also highlighting how they are an essential element to the overall outfit and the lifestyle through this weekly webisode format. As an Accessories Expert, Kimmie has worked with a number of brands who have signed on to this project. Last week she looked at Accessorizing for Brunch and this week she tackles how visiting a space is the perfect place to show off your space!

Project Accessory continues with 3 amazing designers NK Henry, Victoria Tillotson and Alexis Bittar. Today we tackle the ever growing question - how do you dress to a cool loft event whether it's to see a local band, go to a fashion show or to head out to an art exhibit? As mentioned in the video, it's about starting with your blank canvas. I live in jeans and tanks and wear this to a number of places. Since this is the look I'm most comfortable with, it's important for my accessories to amp up the outfit! Today. I started out with a fab Murano ring that I got in Italy and Whitney, a super long necklace that I created from my line, Kitten Couture.

Cuffs and bangles are the way to go on this one and I show you how a blank canvas merely amplifies the whole situation. Imagine that it's consistently warm, you have a number of events and you're all about keeping it casual. Now you have the perfect look and all you need is your favorite arm candy to complete the look!

Sippin Saturdays ~ Kitten Couture Aids Haiti

It's so easy to get caught up in your day to day whether we're planning events, moves and more. I run through my inbox constantly making decisions that I deem life changing. I remember on June 12th as I was annoyed about a project that my mom called me talking about the Earthquake in Haiti. I hadn't been on Twitter for a few hours and when she told me what was happening I was shocked. Suddenly wrangling florists didn't seem to have the same priority. I'm always saddened when I hear about disasters but this one was a little closer to home.

My first trip outside of the country and on a cruise was to Haiti at the age of 9. I remember being excited as we were traveling on Royal Caribbean and my uncle, who had recently married into the family was the head chef on the cruise line. The trip was amazing as we visited Labadee, Haiti and it was a part of a honeymoon trip for my uncle (who recently passed away last week) and my aunt. It was one of the last times that such a large group of us would be together. Haiti sits on the island of Hispaniola which is shares with neighboring country, Dominican Republic. I came here last March with Paul and spent 9 days here. The fact that the earthquake devastated Haiti and sent them running to untouched Dominican Republic is phenomenal.

My trip to Haiti opened my eyes. I had spent my summers at the Jersey Shore (and no not at Seaside) as my mom is from their originally but this trip introduced me to Miami (which you know how much I love SoBe), Labadee, St Thomas and Nassau. Anyone who knows me knows that the resort lifestyle and the beach are something that I always talk about and it's where I go when I need to take a step back and to be inspired. The beaches of Labadee is where I first fell in love with that concept and to know that it had been touched was sad.

How could I help? In addition to being the Editor in Chief here, I also have Kitten Couture, my jewelry line that is handmade and I decided that in addition to my personal efforts, 50% of the proceeds of Tatiana Lariat will to go to the Red Cross' Haiti Relief and Development Fund. The vibrant coral pieces and the snail shell and mother of pearl is a perfect balance. I love knowing that the country of Haiti will bounce back and once again people will come to their beaches and fuel their economy with tourism. I also love knowing that I will personally make each piece as a means to show my support and providing funding to this fund is just a small part in what everyone is doing all over the world! I don't believe in one time assistance so Tatiana will continue its Social Good for as long as the efforts are needed and with the images that I have seen, it will need it for some time.

Your purchase of this piece will not only add a pop of color to your wardrobe and of course allow you to style yourself in a number of ways as the pieces are long and can be wrapped; however, you will be supporting in a fashionable way with a country that needs our help! Please note that as these are handmade, they will arrive to you within two weeks of the purchase date. As these lariats are natural stone and shell, the hues will vary slightly and no two pieces will look identical.

In addition, there are covers that have SPF and UV fabrics that are necessities in the summer time. You know I believe that accessories should not only make you look good but if there's an opportunity that they can pull a little double duty, this is an added benefit. This is a cute way to stand out while your gifting and for baby to travel in adorable style.

When you're going to go the chocolate route, do it organic with Taza Chocolate which has no chemicals and no animal by products. It tastes amazing and is good for you. With so many options of chocolate, this is the perfect item to add to someone's stocking stuffer. I'm in love with the Chocolate Mexicano with Cinnamon which is something to spice up your hot cocoa with a taste of something different. Find your favorite and make sure to have some around the house for the holidays.

If you've seen me out and about, I can guarantee that most of the time I'm wearing something from Ted Rossi. Not only does he know a lot about sparkle but his python pieces are stunning. In addition to having an amazing line, he was also one of the designers featured on my episode of To Be a Star, so watch out for his appearance where he shares his tips on personal style with me and aspiring models.

Many of you read about me covering Tasty Morsels Bakery at the Bust Craftacular this summer in Brooklyn. It was such a good time and as always, I love helping indies out while getting a great item that becomes a fave in my wardrobe. As is the case with most events, they get bigger, better and they include additional locations. This holiday season they're not only going to be here in NYC on Dec 6th but on Dec 12th LA and London will also be hosting this event! What a great way to get a few friends together and to get some shopping tackled! If you're a designer in these areas and looking to participate, fill out an application as there is still time!

A year and a half ago I fell in love with Hudson Jeans after a friend insisted that I would no longer have to worry about finding the perfect jean. I was drawn to their signature flaps and how they make a great shape to your butt whether it's your natural trait or not! When it came time to tape my reality show episode for To Be a Star, I knew I would be in their jeans again. This holiday season, they will be rolling out additional pieces to the line including the Boot Cut in Tequila Sunrise on the left, the Skinny Leg known as the Cape Cod (my second favorite to the Jean Legging) and the Lisa which is a 5 pocket skinny jean. This holiday season, begin thinking about how you want to ring in the new year and the importance of having a great jean!

As a former underwear model I can say that what you wear underneath does effect how you feel and whatever you're wearing on top is merely an extension of your undergarments. When I was growing up, my favorite pair of undies were the ones with the days of the week on them. I was obsessed and it always made me laugh that I was wearing Wednesday or sleeping on Sunday! But making a statement about your mood on your undies (they don't stop there as you can make additional statements on your yoga wear, PJ's and tees) is definitely something that Lolly38 knows about! We all have a wildside and why not make it apparent! It's as much as your little secret as you wish and it will add a bounce to your step! Check out the site and if you don't see what you're trying to say, then make something custom with a minimum of 10 items! Somehow Bachelorette Parties, Girl's Weekends, Sorority Trips and more will never be the same.

I am puppy obsessed - nix that I'm Yorkie obsessed. My sister, a very good friend of mine and a new friend has this breed and it's all I think about! I feel like the past year I have been talking about and now we're getting to the time that we will have one of our own soon! I'm all about being prepared and if you follow @SugarChic then you know that she's the owner of Sugar Chic Couture and she knows a lot about keeping your puppy happy. Above is a tiny sample of what's available from amazing beds, cute clothes (I'm not British but this jacket is super cute), sushi for dogs (yes this is edible and made for them) and a cute robe! Whether you're into collegiate or professional teams, you'll find a way to get your pup involved and your bound to spend a lot of time on this site making sure your puppies needs are met and he's happy in your home!

You can't talk about the holidays without talking about New Year's Eve. Around this time of year as I finalize what my holiday cards will look like, what parties I will attend and what my gifts will be for others - I think about how I plan on looking for New Year's Eve! Whether it's a huge bash or close friends, it's an important time to share with others. White Black House Market has a collection of dresses that are perfect for the occasion and with the right accessories, you can definitely ensure that your personal style is reflected. All you need is what your resolution(s) will be and to stick to them as we go towards 2010!

In the holidays I tend to keep it local the day of the holiday and then I head off to Jamaica, South Beach or wherever it's warm. If I don't go somewhere warm then, I tend to do so within the next few weeks so I'm always on the hunt for yet another bathing suit! Casa Bikini is one of my favorite places when I want a super cute suit that fits well and has great patterns. I always find something new and it allows me to get a little daring since I typically love the classic black bikini! If you're looking for the wow affect, this is a great site to consider as a gift for others and to snag a few for yourself.

I'm inspired by the sea on a daily basis. Partly because I live on a beach and the other part is that I enjoy the serinity that I get just being out there. To that end, I am a fan of the ideas behind Adore Adorn which incorporates natural stones and other elements that remind you of days at the beach whether you're there or in the concrete jungle so to speak! These pieces are perfect for a night out or just running errands. Be inspired and bring the beach with you wherever you go!

Kitten Couture is a collection that includes lariats that are comprised of natural stones and sea shells. These pieces are perfect to to wear when running errands, going out to lunch or for a night out on the town. These pieces are made for your lifestyle. Take some time to check out more from the collection and to decide which pieces work for you!

I love that fashion presents so many points of view and when I first found out about Coco Bourgeoisie, I fell in love! Instantly I connected with elements of an old world glam mixed with modern elements! I saw portions of a 50's style combined with the elite Ladies Who Lunch to the PR It Girls that are in NYC. Of course once I read more about the talented designer, Courtney, I realized that this Southern Belle not only had an amazing fashion background but got the importance of women having pieces within their wardrobe that were not only feminine but reinvented what a power outfit means! I love the detailing on the Leslie Skirt as this can be worn to product launches, cocktail receptions and more! The Jen Top not only works well with this skirt but would look fabulous with a pair of skinny jeans and a fitted blazer! When it comes to a wow factor whether you're at the office, running your own business or doing the "Ladies Who Lunch/Brunch" this is your new go to line!

As always I'm all about accessories and even better than having the perfect look, is knowing that your wearing something that benefits an entire community. Same Sky is hand crocheted glass bead jewelry that is made by women who survived the Rowanda genocide. Each pieces has the story of the woman who made it. In addition to Alicia Keys and Halle Berry who are wearing this socially conscious brand, it's essential that we support as well by finding our favorite color to wear and to gift!

I have always believed that accessories were meant to be worn which means that they don't need to be deemed a day time or night time only look! Thankfully, AO3 Designs seems to share my sentiments! I'm obsessed with a number of their clutches but the ones below are perfect for day and night! Many times I have been on my way to a gallery and although I'm in my favorite pair of skinny jeans and a cute top, I still want to pair a fab pair of heels and a little clutch. I'm a huge fan of embroidery and items of texture - these clutches are the perfect way to add color and to ensure that you have a conversation piece on hand at all times. Take a look at the various clutches available and begin to think about what your next go to clutch will be or who you should be gifting it to!

When it comes to my weekends, I can't kick off the day without walking onto my balcony, breathing in the ocean and then heading downstairs to get some tea. Whether it's freezing or warm, I have done this ever since I moved in with boyfriend and Food Editor of Kitten Lounge, Paul Belobritsky! I love tea, I can never buy enough and with a little organic honey, it's the best way to bring in the day with a few cups whether I get up at 10am or noon. Recently, I tried Village Tea Co and it is my new obsession and my mornings are never going to be the same. These teas are loose and when you open the canister (which you can reuse to put your knick knacks in), you'll find two pouches with loose tea and little tea envelopes (perfect for single cups or for those that don't have a drainer and yes you can wash them and dry them for future use). I started with the Sassy Green Tea but I will soon tackle the Roobios Cherry Blossom and the Jasmine Green Tea! This is the best tea that I have had in a long time and I do believe that going forward this will be the only tea that I will drink and can't wait to take it with me on my travels. With so many options, you're bound to find the perfect flavour for gifting, housewarmings and more!

I can't leave the house without a scarf! My favorite look is a simple tee and jeans with a scarf for a pop of color. I'm obsessed with them whether it's one with a texture or various prints. This is a must for the wardrobe and a great way to show that you know how to be daring when it comes to color. I love these scarves by Nepali by TDM Design as there is one for every mood and for every look! This is not only a perfect gift but something you would want to treat yourself too! Take some time to check out these pieces, not only because they'll make you look fab but by purchasing them you're supporting women weavers and women craftsmanship in Nepal! The founders of TDM Design ensures that not only are scarves handmade from the finest fibers but the women who make them are able to have their children attend school.

Every season we go back to our boots, we have those that we buy just so that we have a fresh start for the next season and those that we carry over from the previous seasons! Either way, new or old, wouldn't it be nice to change up our boots in a simple way every now and then? I have done the skinny jean with the boot and knitted leg warmers and although I love this look, I love that Bootzwalla pushes the envelope by having leather leg warmers that bring out the rock star in you! With a growing celeb clientele and fulfilling the niche of wanting to add an accessory to the boots (or heels) you already love, this is a great way to dress up your boots when you're wearing jeans, minis and more. Check out this hot brand and they also have other leg warmers and hats that you're bound to love especially with this upcoming season!

Feeling blue used to mean that your spirits needed a little boosting but now, it means that you’re decked out in Cynthia Rybakoff’s tranquil and eye popping collection! Not only are they handmade but she has made pieces for Tommy Hilfiger, Isaac Mizrahi and Ralph Lauren - not only are these icons in classic American style but it says something about her amazing sense of fashion as well. You know that I love natural pieces and this collection is full of various blue hued stones in Lapis Lazuli, Agate (my fave) or Sodalite; moreover, she also has my second favorite material - sterling silver. Although her blue collection is phenomenal she has a very diversified collection that is a must see. These pieces can go from your favorite denim outfits to a night out with a cocktail dress! These are pieces that are not only meant to get you noticed but encourage people to approach you in this networking situations to not only find out what you’re wearing but where you got your fabulous sense of style – this is a must gift for your nearest and dearest along with yourself!

Sometimes people get frustrated by change in general, when you change your mind about a restaurant or what you're going to do tonight. But we definitely have the right to change our minds when it comes to our look and fortunately, when it comes to nails - change is always good! This holiday season change it up a little with these fab colors or think about putting something a little extra in the stocking with Duri polishes. The ones above are perfect for the holidays but, since change is inevitable - they have an entire collection to choose from!

One of my favorite fashion accessories is the scarf! Yes it's perfect to pair with your winter coat but I go all year wearing various scarves of various weights as I'm out and about. Whether it's a last minute thought or just a great way to add a pop of color, it's a fashion must that is just as important as whatever signature ring I happen to be wearing at the moment. Fortunately, Rachel Park Designs agrees with me! She's known as not only the go to lady for scarves but ties as well! With an eye for prints, textures and taking looks to the next level, you'll never have to wonder whether heads will turn with these accessories - this is a gifting and must for your wardrobe!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Miami State of Mind

As some of you may know, I'm launching a new line that has elements of my first line, Kitten Couture, and yet it's completely in a different direction! It's exciting and with a soft launch next month and the official one in July 2010 - I'm in that mode of figuring out and rounding the troops. A lot of what I will do involves travels and presentations to bring the jewelry line to various markets. Miami is one of my key cities as second to NYC, it's one that is vibrant and yet very relaxing. When I'm there, I defintiely love to party like a diva and love dresses such as this one by Terani Couture which is split so that while you walk, your shoes can peek out (hello these shoes by SOS Mark are ridiculously amazing and you feel like your dripping in luxury with every step!). With so many eye popping items, I love the idea of bringing it back with natural pieces such as this gorgeous Quartz and Agate Ring (two of my favorite stones) and this lovely one of a kind pendant. I can imagine floating from place to place in this dress as I head out to whatever party is next! This is perfect whether I'm in LA, Miami or Las Vegas - just as long as I'm out and about and having a great time!

Snazzy Sundays ~ The Launch Begins

I have to say that the year is ending faster than I can even imagine; however, things are still changing very quickly. Today's post is different than most of my Sunday posts as I usually talk about home decor and ways to relax before you go back to the grind Mon morning. Who knew that this week would be full of so many emotions and in many ways, closure on various ideas and yet it became a door opener to so many things.

I have way too many friends to thank for getting me through the week in providing their encouragement and assistance as I begin a new venture that's not entirely new but one that will take a lot of effort. In the picture above are 2 of my very good friends that although we just met this summer (time flies FAST), we have come together and have become family! If you follow me (@cocoabebe) on Twitter, you hear me talk about Emily and Niki. As I began a new strategy they were the first ones to put in their much needed advice and definitely began to assist me in ways they couldn't have imagined. In fact, it was Niki who referred to us as the women in Lipstuck Jungle. Although this show was canceled, I loved how the women worked in different fields but they were there for each other in ups and downs and always had encouragement - which is essential in whatever you do! This image is from the first episode when Victory's line didn't do as well as she expected and between friendship, cupcakes and a little bubbly she was able to pick herself up and move on.

On that note, I unveil something new to Kitten Lounge as well as something that is beneficial to those that are in the process or have always wanted to start a business and specifically within the fashion industry! As you know, I have an accessory line, Kitten Couture which I began in 2004. This incorporated my love for natural stones and shells and the ability for people to wear it as they wished. I love the line and you can see me in the pieces when I'm out and about (of course it is still available for purchase as they are handmade)! I have wanted to go in a new direction for awhile and feel that a new line must be created and it will launch July 2010!

After the past months of working on a new line of a completely different name, I have decided that this new jewelry line will be more than just a new line but it will be a way to see how it is to get a product from an idea to the final product. In addition, once the product is launched, you will continue to see many of the behind the scenes efforts that it takes in order for the line to be successful. Many people wonder where to start and I would love for you guys to come along with me. To start, I will have weekly vids and as the weeks go by, you'll see the line build, my efforts and other items that are surrounded with this idea! I'm really excited to launch a line as well as to inform others on the do's, don'ts, highs and lows of getting out there and just doing it.

Obviously, the jewelry box symbolizes a collection that I will be excited to share with you and my trusty Flip, will record my videos which you will have access to. Of course I know that my friends (I wish I had enough room to put you guys in this post as there are more than just the two above) will be there to listen to my ideas, provide feedback and maybe give me a cupcake and a glass of bubbly when I need it. My motto for 2010 is Transparency and making things a lot more accessible and I hope that in creating this line and working through this new venture that I can do that and provide it to you guys as well!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Wishing For Warmth

It's so hard! When the weather starts getting chilly but I'm watching shows like the Hills, I wonder why I couldn't have decided to move to LA as opposed to being in NYC. But then I remember that NY is someplace that I could never be away from and if cold is the tradeoff, then I would need to just deal with it! The good news is, I'm able to travel so I never have to stay in the cold for too long. Thinking of LA makes me remember that I have plans to visit later on this year or as late as Feb and I love the idea of mixing an element of summer with a bit of fall. I'm obsessed with kimono outfits (yesterday I was wearing a kimono top over a pair of jeans) but if I were out an about in LA, I would love this simple Kimono jumper by Joie paired with these booties. I love that they're suede and have a bit of rocker detail. To add to that, the cuff of metal feathers is the perfect compliment and today, I'm including a Mother of Pearl, snail shell, Agate piece from my jewelry line, Kitten Couture!

I could imagine this on a day meeting with showrooms to talk about new collections, meeting with friends, heading out to dinner and more! Just looking at this look makes me want to start planning trips to leave the impending cold! Even if you're not heading anywhere, these are great pieces to begin including within your closet or at the very least, you'll want to click within the spread and check out the fab brands! For those that are fan of Kitten Couture, contact me as I have a special promo that you can use from now to the end of the month to add a little spice into your jewelry collection!

Fashionable Fridays ~ Checkin' in With Kimmie

Whether you catch me at an event, see me talking to someone on a show or you just happen to catch me out, you know that clearly I'm all about style. When I'm out and about, people will ask what made me think of Kitten Lounge back in 2007 and I always let them know that Kitten Lounge actually originated as an Internet show back in 2004 when it covered my favorite artists and blended my love of fashion but even that is not an accurate description so I thought it would be good to tell you how it came to be and why it is such a driving force for everything that I do. First off, hi - I'm Kimmie, the Editor in Chief of this site and although I'm not really into the whole "Letter from the Editor" setup, it's nice to understand who is bringing you all of this content and why it's all here!

I fell in love significantly twice when I was younger the first time was at the age of 3 when I remember looking through Vogue and loving gorgeous dresses that showed me that you could be a princess everyday. For those that know my love for accessories, only the big baubles caught my eye! I loved going with my mom to fabric stores where she would make items from Vogue patterns into reality and when she later opened a boutique of custom design clothing in Indianapolis, I was in love. My world opened up to gorgeous brides, sequins, shantung, gaberdines and more and I had an AMAZING closet. That love came from my mother.

My father gave me a second love - at the age of 5, he taught me how to use a computer. We had an Apple and I loved it (don't ask me why I have an HP now although I have to give it some love too even though I continue to dream about a Mac book haha). I loved playing games on it and wondered what would the possibilities of that machine be? Who knew that in college one of my majors would be Telecommunications with a focus in New Media? Leaving IU and coming to NYC, I began doing PR for independent music artists who were only available online and I assisted them in getting spins and getting them booked. Why not, my Great Uncle was Joe Henderson, tenor saxophonist with Blue Note, Verve, etc so it was in my blood and I loved it. But then again fashion kept pulling me back in.

Is it true that I modeled (yes lingerie/swimwear), had a fashion line and currently have my own jewelry line Kitten Couture, and also assist firms with their Social Media via my other company Sikara Designs Group - check it all. But is it true that Kitten Lounge has been around more than two years? Absolutely. It initially came on board in 2004 as an Internet Radio show that I hosted daily for an hour each day for 3 years. Then I played DJ's who had crazy mixes and then talked with indie artists about their personal style. I loved it but realized after I began blogging for another site that I wanted to talk about more than just accessories on that site and do more than just host a radio show. The Kitten Lounge became my place to talk about fashion, style, beauty, food, music and travel. I believed that as a whole person all of this was important to me and that I wasn't alone.

I realized that I'm around stylish and amazing people who they need advice on where to go or how to dress when they are not in the settings that tend to go to all the time. People have always gravitated towards the way I present things and what better way then to introduce my world of showrooms, designers, industry shakers and more to you! Where do I go from here? Because of Kitten Lounge, I have been able to attend Fashion Weeks, go to Project, Magic, see private presentations, launches of all kinds and more. But I truly loved it when I made the cross over to personality when I shot an episode of To Be a Star which comes out later this year. Sharing the importance of accessories, finding your signature look and ultimately branding yourself was so important to me and to the 6 aspiring models that I worked with to achieve it, I'm very proud that I could be apart of that experience.

It is my goal and vision to continue to push various themes that are not only keys to my success but are core mental investments: I feel that accessories are an essential way to set yourself apart and that in the vein of Audrey Hepburn, you can take great classic pieces and look amazing. In addition, you can be someone that crosses over into a lot of areas (hello - I run a style blog, have my own jewelry line, create Social Media strategies for fashion/entertainment firms and am a personality as well) and yet still make it truly your own. Finally and most importantly, Kitten Lounge is about community whether it's introducing you to my favorites that you may not be aware of, reaching out via Twitter (@cocoabebe) or checking in with such favorites as the Holiday Gift Guide which launches Nov 1st (I can't wait to share the fab giveaways that we'll have, those who will be in the guide and a list on who to keep an eye out for in terms of industry must knows for your business). The experiences that I have had and those that will come have come to pass as I'm always open to reaching out, learning and helping someone else. In doing so it has created friendship, trust and has allowed me to interact with groups that I would have never come across if I had done it alone. The power of collaborations and having good people as your checks and balances definitely come in handy when you're running 300 miles an hour - no you're not crazy, you just know that you can do 48 hours of work in a 24 hour cycle and still go out to grab drinks and have a little fun! I want to thank everyone that has made this brand successful and who has been with me in each phase of re-invention that I have been through and look forward to sharing a lot of AMAZING items that are coming up soon!

Fashionable Fridays: Fashionably Fun Together

The past two weeks have been a blur; however, unlike my normal running around, it's awesome to know that you have someone else who is running a strong race even if you're not doing the same thing! So as you know, I obviously run this site and I am also a jewelry designer of my own line, Kitten Couture (and yes I assist companies in establishing their place within Social Media) and my friend Crystal (who is on the right of the pictures obviously) is the founder and cookie designer of Tasty Morsels Bakery. I feel like we have done so many events and have had so much going on that we stay in contact via email/gchat; however, as we hung out at the Pink & Black Tie Gala hosted by Stacy London for the American Cancer Society in Brooklyn (I covered it and provided a piece for auction while Crystal made over 250 cookies for the goodie bag), we were able to just hang out to eat, drink and dance!

No matter how crazy your days are and no matter how many events you go to for whatever reason, whenever you have the chance, make sure that you go out there and enjoy it with someone when you can! It's amazing how it adds a different perspective and allows you to drink in the moment! I have spent the past few years seriously pushing and moving forward and I'm at the point now where it's fun to be invited somewhere to see familiar faces and of course to bring my friend as well! Always remember to take a moment and of course to do it fashionably - we work hard so that we can truly enjoy our accomplishments!

On The Radar: Episode 1

Each week, I will share random facts with you that are way too long for Twitter (sometimes 140 characters isn't enough) and yet a blog post would be too random. So enjoy hearing what's going on and all the events that I attended this week and will go to next week!

Sippin Saturdays: Pink & Black Tie Gala

Last Thursday I attended the American Cancer Society's Pink & Black Tie Gala which was hosted by Stacy London and held at Steinner Studios in Brooklyn. All I can say is what an amazing and inspiring event! I love the fact that there were so many items auctioned (I included a piece, Victory which was included from my jewelry line, Kitten Couture) and Crystal Horton of Tasty Morsels Bakery, included her amazing cookies within the goodie bag. Drinks continued to flow and I have to say that the appetizers during the cocktail hour were presented in amazing displays!

I loved seeing that many people who supported this event were not only survivors but current workers of ACS! Stacy London (whose video is posted above) had a moving speech that definitely held everyone's attention. I also loved hearing about the Hope Lodge in NYC (there are other locations within the country as well) which is a place that those who are going through cancer treatments and their families can stay without worrying about paying for temporary housing. Located near Penn Station, this is a great sense of community for them! At this event, I heard about 96 Magnolia which is also a place for those seeking wellness. It is meant to live green, live well and it's also a place for style for those that are fashion and interior designers by including their pieces. I definitely wanted to find out more about this and to assist in fundraising! By the end of the night, over $175,000 was raised! What an amazing night to bring awareness to the fight against cancer, research and funding and finally giving Brooklyn much deserved love!

Fashionable Fridays: Pink & Black Tie Gala

It's GORGEOUS out in NY and I already have my cocktail plans for tonight and yet I'm not quite sure about lunch! But what I do know is that I am super excited that with May on the way, one of my biggest events this summer is the American Cancer Society's Pink & Black Tie Gala which will be held at Steinner Studios in Brooklyn. I love that it supports an amazing cause and many people in the fashion, music and entertainment communities are coming together to raise funds for the continual support and research of a plethora of diseases that have affected people. Now, I am excited that I will be donating a new lariat necklace from my line, Kitten Couture (pictures to follow in another post) and that my friend and Brooklyn resident, Crystal Horton, will be supplying cookies from Tasty Morsels Bakery for the goodie bag - which is definitely a treat!

In addition, there are additional auctions such as a swim clinic with Michael Phelps, a Vespa and a Private Customized Tour for Six at the Bronx Zoo. These are just some of the items that have been updated recently and people  continue to support whether they are including something to be auctioned or something that will be in one of the many goodie bags. Stacy London of What Not to Wear will be hosting and the entire event will feature local entertainment as well. I love that this Pink and Black theme will be amazing to see in person! I can't wait to see how people incorporate these colors into their color schemes and tickets are still available for this event at $250 - you'll enjoy an amazing dinner, meeting others who are committed to the cause and of course it's a night of dancing as well. I will cover the event and continue to share information with you in addition to Twittering live from the event as well!

Fashionable Fridays: Kick off Your Spring With Kitten Couture

As many of you know, I have my own jewelry line, Kitten Couture which uses natural stones and seashells. Now my pieces are for all seasons; however, now that we are officially in Spring - this is the perfect time to reintroduce you to the collection. I love having pops of color within my jewelry as I tend to wear a lot of solids and simple pieces. This is a great way to change your look and really play up many of your favorite pieces. Above, I have a piece made of Botswana Agate, Mother of Pearl, Carnelian, Tiger Eye and Turquoise. Known as Ariel, this is a great piece that brings in elements of the sea while also being perfect with the addition of neutral tones as well.

Below is one of my other favorites and is also a chunky necklace that contains many of the same pieces that are above. The Alexandra has large Mother of Pearl shells, Carnelian, Agate and Snail Sell as well. Both pieces are done as lariats so that you can choose how many times you like to wrap them around your neck and how you wish to tie them. From now until April 15th, I am offering a special deal via this site where you can receive any piece at 50% off. Simply email me and let me know your piece; however, everyone should have a great piece that stands out or is perfect for a special day. I'll keep you guys up to date on what's going on with Kitten Couture and where you can find us! In the mean time, enjoy our Spring Fling Sale from now through April 15th where each piece has been reduced for a limited time to boost your look!

Mingling Mondays: Pink & Black For a Cause

On May 7th, Brooklyn will have a huge event that I am very excited about! The American Cancer Society will put on a gala to increase the awareness of cancer. This star studded event will be hosted by TLC's "What Not To Wear", Stacy London! In addition, the attire is pink and black! I think that this will be a fashionable event and one with a very strong message - all efforts will go towards raising funds for cancer research, education/adcovacy programs and services for cancer patients and their families. This event will have silent auctions (Kitten Couture, my jewelry line will have a piece created exclusively for this event), along with many others. If you're a designer and are interested in including your items, please contact me so that I can get you in touch with the amazing organizers of the ACS! In addition, there will be goodie bags and Crystal Horton, Brooklyn based cookie baker will include Tasty Morsels Bakery items which is very exciting.

On May 7th at Stage 6 at Steiner Studios the "Brooklyn Rocks" theme will include music, fashion and so much more. If you're interested in tickets, make sure that you visit the site so that you can be apart of the Pink and Black Tie Gala. Kitten Lounge is committed to keeping you up to date on what's going on as we will continue to provide additional information and to cover the event as well so definitely check back with us as well!

Sippin Saturdays: Rest & Relaxation

Well I am definitely enjoying the resting part of today as I am working on some projects, I had the second part of my Christmas last night and am already thinking of a few items that I need to pick up later on this weekend. Of course, I am also glued to my laptop today as I continue tweaking a few of my sites and to also include additional components that will be apart of Kitten Lounge as well! Enjoy the day wherever you are! Starting Mon, we will have posts dedicated to New Years Eve and the rest of the week we will start on the new focus of Kitten Lounge - exciting times are ahead!

Fashionable Fridays: Kitten Couture My Jewelry Line

Today I am doing a lot of work on what Kitten Lounge will be like for Jan 1st and also reworking Kitten Couture (of course when I work on those, I also think about Sikara Designs Group and some of the other sites I have as well)! Kitten Couture is my lariat line of jewelry that includes natural stones and seashells! So there will be some minor dust this weekend and I suppose resolutions will be made from a business stand point! With that said this is the current collection of Kitten Couture so enjoy and I love hearing feedback!

Treasure Tuesdays: My Top 10 Accessories

Yesterday, Paul started off the concept of a list format as I think it's a great way to look over the past year with that which was amazing! I think it helps you out in terms of where you've been and where you want to go! Of course, my favorite topic is ACCESSORIES! Today I am including my favorite 5 items that I have worn and the 5 that I definitely want to include within my wardrobe and I threw in something that Paul would love as well! These items have been included in previous posts but they deserve another mention before the end of the year!

My Top 5 That You'll See Me Wear:

Orfeo Quagliatoa: I love these large bauble rings that are made out of hand blown glass.

Ted Rossi: I love the cuffs and the clutches that are made out of python!

Kitten Couture: This is my jewelry line that I love and am always wearing these pieces. I am obsessed with the resort lifestyle and bringing in the beach!

Pade Vavre: I love the antiqued look of these pieces and love the sterling silver branch necklace that I wear often.

Moon River Pearls: I was never into pearls but I love how "out of the box" many of these are and feel that it's absolutely necessary to have a pair within your jewelry box.

My Top 5 That I'll Include Within My Wardrobe:

Objet d' Envy: The Swarovski Crystal pieces that are available are perfect for any day whether it's casual or time to glam up!

Hayden Harnett: I love the Wyeth bag and the fact that they have so many other great body styles as well!

Konstantino: Included within the Kitten Lounge Holiday Gift Guide I love their old world style and that you have such an amazing piece on your arm regardless of what outfit you opt for!

Ana Reign: Her large rings are so me that it's not even funny. I will have to have one custom made but it would be worth every penny without a doubt!

Kale Miles: My boyfriend and Food Editor, Paul, is all about jeans and with a belt from Kale Miles, it gives him an interesting way to express his personality through this very necessary accessory!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Your Dog Gets Beaded

CarneliancollarIt's now Tues and you know it means that we focus on super cute puppy items that are a must for your furry friend. I happened to browse on Dosha Dog and I found a cute set that I would love to provide for my Dog when I finally get him! As you know, I am a jewelry designer of my own line, Kitten Couture and I am a huge fan of Carnelian. So when I saw this Beaded Collar in Carnelian Red Adventure, I knew that this was definitely a very chic site that will ensure that your dog (or even your kitty) will be dresses to perfection! How could your head not turn to see this very elegant and cute piece. Not only is this collar super cute, but so is the leash and note that they have various beads as well so you're bound to find something that you love! Of course when I think of my sister's cute puppy, I think that she would definitely be more of a Turquoise Sodalite girl!

Dj_jimmy_2
I had to share with you my sister's pup Jimmy Choo! As I was traveling to Lake George this weekend, I saw this pop up on my Blackberry. My sister has had her super cute yorkie since the first weekend in May and he has grown so much! Here he is in a DJ bag (no this is not a special brand but it is actually a bag that my sister's boyfriend uses when he DJ's). Apparently he got in the bag and wasn't sure how to get out. Anyway, little Jimmy Choo is growing up so fast and after spending time with two Westie's this weekend, I can't wait until I get a Yorkie of my own - terriers are so cute!

Mingling Mondays: THINK CITRUS ~ Find Your Fav Designers Here

EtsylogoToday we will do a little mingling online. Nothing is better than having a variety of designers at your finger tips. I love the idea that by visiting Etsy you're supporting indie designers and handmade pieces. I also love that if you set up an account, you'll be able to add favorites whether you like the designers or specific pieces that a designer makes. Mingling Mondays definitely suggests that you take a peek at what is available on this site. You can even pull up information by color as well so in keeping with the THINK CITRUS concept, you're bound to find items within this color scheme.

Karaglam I have to say that even I have joined Kitten Couture Etsy as well as a seller. What an exciting way to increase your visibility! Take some time to check out my site in addition to others!
