We're mid week and this time last week, we kicked off a series that showcases the outfits that we can expect to see during the Opening Ceremonies this Friday, kicking off the London 2012 Olympics! Today, we're showing Japan's look. It's so retro chic and love the attention to details that are being shown from scarves to the super cute bag! What country are you excited to see?
We're days away from the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics! I'm loving the nautical look of Serbia's look that we will see Friday evening! From the blazer, shoes and even his scraf - I love Zakstra is going to present. There is a lot of attention to detail and piping!
The Australian Olympic team will rock these classic looks from Sportscraft and Volley which exude a slim fit sensability with a nod to classic modern. Interestingly enough, the brand reached out to the Olympians in terms of the look that they wanted to wear. As the Olympians make their way to the arena, their outfits have their rich Australian green hue with navy and gold trimming. With the white skirts and pants, this will definitely make them highly visible.
We love that the Olympic uniforms for the opening ceremonies as well as for the games tell a story. Belize will hit the opening ceremony in these Great Gatsby (can't wait for the movie to come out this holiday season) inspired looks! The hats are made by Pachacuti is and are Fair Trade Panama Hats to complete the looks!
Next week, we have the Opening Ceremony for the Olympics in London! France has such a dramatic look that will definitely catch the eye of those watching. Created by Adidas, I'm loving the long white trousers and the long coats as well. I could so imagine rocking these looks during the fall.
We keep it crisp and clean with these white looks with a pop of navy by Ralph Lauren. I love the heels and the hats that are included with this look that we will see during the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Olympics in London for Team USA. Also check out the fab designer as they have items that you can wear as you cheer the team on!
Suitsupply, for the third year in a row, will be dressing the Dutch Olympic and Paralympic team and their entourage! Their head designer, Murray Coetzee designed the above four looks which we will see next week during the opening ceremony. There is a nod within its style to iconic English sports and being trimmed by the colors of the Dutch flag. How cute is the oversized tulip just to remind you that this is the fkower of the dutch! How can you not love the tennis blazers and cricket cable knits. If you check out other portions of this collection which can be purchased, there are badges decorated with British landmarks.
In addition to loving the looks and wanting the trench coat! I would definitely suggest these fun hues if you're looking to rock a little orange and blue while watching the Olympics Opening Ceremony next week. As you know, I'm a huge fan of all shades Butter London and on my other days, Essie as these bring in both of the hues that these Olympians are wearing for their country.
Being a girl from the Midwest, I love sports and so the summer Olympics is definitely something that I am a huge fan of! If you missed our on my of the looks that countries will be wearing during the Opening Ceremony, events and Closing Ceremony - check out WWD (you may need a subscription) to see the spreads that started yesterday and will continue over the next few days! Each day we will focus on the Olympics and I had to start out with Team Jamaica! I had to share Cedella Marley's (daughter of Bob Marley and designer of High Tides looks as she teamed with Puma as well as the Jamaica Olympic Association and created a number of looks. You can definitely see the influence of her father as the opening ceremony has lightweight, short-sleeve button-front shirts in army green with black accents at the shoulders, a black skinny tie and an embroidered Jamaican flag patch on the right breast. This look is known as the “Buffalo Soldier button down” and has the words “Positive Vibrations” stitched inside of the collar, both references to Bob Marley songs. When I was at the preview for Bob Marley's movie here in NYC, Cedella shared these insights with us. Within this look, men have the choice to rock a military-style jacket or a sweater. The uniform’s trousers will be either yellow (with a black tuxedo stripe down the outer leg) or black.
Team Jamaica's ladieshave a single option for the opening ceremony outfit, which consists of a knee-length black-and-yellow allover leaf print skirt, Cedella Marley designed a black, military-influenced jacket with a green contrast stripe running vertically down the button placket, a green belt at the waist and green accents at the cuffs - known as the "Satisfy My Soul" jacket. The looks debuted earlier this month in London where she was quoted as saying to Usain, "... this is the first time Daddy is actually going to the Olympics ... and you’re going to be wearing him on your shoulder.”
