Fashionable Fridays: Day 8 Spring 2011 ~ I Strut at Lincoln Center For Essence.com

Fashion Week is a lot of fun and one of the best times is when you're in the open areas just hanging out. Now I have met Tia Williams, Beauty Editor at Essence.com a few times. As I had just moved away from the Essie booth, Tia asked to see my strut. Now on this day, I had just left the Tory Burch show I believe and had on one of my fave maxi dresses with my Swarovski Crystal Havaianas! But towards the middle of the video, you'll see me strutting as that's what one does when they're at one of the biggest Fashion Week events of the year!

Fashionable Fridays: Day 8 Spring 2011 ~ Jeannine Morris & I Talk Fashion Week at Robert Verdi Luxury Sweet with Acuvue

Fashion week has so many levels but it's not all just shows - it's about friendships, enjoying being around one another and learning about new brands. Jeannine Morris (Beauty Sweet Spot) and I hung out at Robert Verdi's Luxe Lab! This is a phenomenal space where I have enjoyed going to a number of events but this was my first one that was hosted by the man himself Robert Verdi! While there, there were quite a bit of brands that gifted us as editors. We took a moment from all the fun madness to sit down and to share our thoughts on what we loved about Fashion Week, our fave shows, our style and basically allowing others to see Fashion Week through our eyes courtesy of Acuvue! Check us out and hear our thoughts and thanks to all the fun brands that we hung out with - Tulle, Red Light PR, N'Espresso, Lippe Taylor, Blue Print Cleanse, Linea Pelle and so much more!

Fashionable Fridays: Day 8 Spring 2011 ~ Andy & Debb

I have always been a fan of the mod look, which Andy & Debb unveiled. I have to say that this was a great way to end my Fashion Week show experience for sure! Yet again, this is a presentation where you walk into a room and see a variety of looks as opposed to seeing a runway show. You have an hour to take pictures/images and to see the collection as the models stand in front of you. Love what you see? Check out more from Elle.com!

Fashionable Fridays: Day 8 Spring 2011 ~ J. Mendel

What I love the most about this show is that J. Mendel was inspired by the ballet in creating this look. I love that there are various neutral colors and pops of orange that graced the runway. Everything was whimsical, flowy and much more. It definitely felt that it was like a dream and one that you wouldn't mind staying in for awhile. If you love these looks and want to know a lot more, then you should check out Elle.com.

Trendy Thursdays: Day 7 Spring 2011 ~ Gottex

One of my favorite categories within apparel happens to be bikinis! I could live in them and enjoy having a number of choices in my closet. What I love about a Gottex show is that it's always filled with classic, eye popping pieces. Whether you're checking out their bikinis or swim gear there's never a dull moment! Above are my fave looks and I had to let you know what it looked from the back! Take a moment to check out more images at Elle.com.

Trendy Thursdays: Day 7 Spring 2011 ~ AhaLife Fashion Week Party

Fashion Week is about more than just shows and presentations it's all about the parties! I was so happy to head out to the AhaLife party at their super chic loft space downtown! Now you know that I had shared some information about AhaLife on my post (you can also sign up to get your inside track info on fab finds) from earlier this Fashion Week but it was fun to be a in a room of so many influencers from various backgrounds! As a Curator (I will contribute fab items within an accessories category), it was great to be introduced to a number of people and to reconnect with friends. The top photo is myself and Shauna Mei (founder of AhaLife and I have enjoyed seeing her sit front row at a number of shows during Fashion Week). The second one is myself with Dana (in the middle - fab makeup artist) and my friend, Jeannine Morris, Editor in Chief and personality of Beauty Sweet Spot. Love these images and want to see a lot more, then you have to check out the link to see the entire event in images!

Trendy Thursdays: Day 7 Spring 2011 ~ Gant by Michael Bastian

Love, love, love the presentation Gant by Michael Bastian that took place yesterday! There is something very "cool kids" meet glamour of this collection! I love how casual everything is in the styling and yet you're ready to jetset at a moment's notice! Presenting the looks in this lifestyle manner was not only fun but really allowed you to engage with the brand! If you love what you see here, you can always check out more images at Elle.com.

Trendy Thursdays: Day 7 Spring 2011 ~ Odd Molly

Odd Molly hit the stage yesterday with a look and feel that was bohemian, vintage and just a lot of fun. With live music playing in the background (guests included Nicky Hilton and Sean Lennon) and florals on the runway, this was a fun show with muted pallets and pops of color. Take a peek at this show and see additional images on Elle.com.

Trendy Thursdays: Day 7 Spring 2011 ~ Tory Burch

You know I'm a fan of Tory Burch so I don't even have to go into detail about that! But I must say that I loved seeing her presentation! I was overwhelmed with the bags, clothes, accessories and more! Seeing the models standing there with pops of citron and mustard Tory once again proved how classic her boho chic style truly is! Above are two of my favorite looks from the show and as always, you can go to Elle.com to see more fabulous pieces as well as images of the amazing people that popped up at this event including the designer herself!

Wearable Wednesdays: Day 6 Spring 2011 ~ LOGO Instant Chic Lori Golstein QVC Event

There are a number of things that take place during Fashion Week beyond fashion shows! There are presentations and pop up shops! Now more pictures will be available but I wanted to let you know that yesterday, I went to QVC's pop up shop in Rockefeller Center where we were given the opportunity to be "re-chic'd" in between shows by none other than major stylist and Madonna's first stylist, Lori Goldstein! We all walked away with fab pieces from her QVC collection LOGO Instant Chic - of course I received accessories but there were also cute shirts, tanks and cardigans. Not only that but we nibbled on macaroons and had fun hanging out (above is Kristin Booker of Fashion Street Beauty and Aly Walansky of She Knows.com) and just catching up on the general madness! We were streamed live which is always fun and Lori will be on QVC.com later on tonight 11:30pm - 11:50pm so you will want to check her out to see her fabulous pieces for sure!

Sponsored Fashion Week Post: Wearable Wednesdays ~ #NYFW Cake Lingerie

If I ever get to that point (and please note that that will be way down the road although I did just turn 31) where I am carrying a child, then I will be more then happy to return to my modeling lingerie days but as a lingerie mommie to be model! As many of you know, I am a huge fan of Cake Lingerie and when I have friends that are pregnant, they will be gifted with this brand for sure! As one of our sponsors for posts on Kitten Lounge during NY Fashion Week, I have definitely taken notice of many of the pregnant editors that hit the shows and it makes me wonder if they're rocking fab pieces like the ones that you can get with this fab brand! I love that the line is always fun and sexy so that you can continue to bring luscious, sensual drama as you're that much closer to making a fab addition to your family. I can't wait to show you fab pieces from there collection as they will be apart of our Holiday Gift Guide that will launch within a few weeks. Treasure Tuesdays: Day 5 Spring 2011 ~ Perry Ellis

It's always an amazing time to attend Perry Ellis' show and with him incorporating his support of assisting to fund the oil spill relief efforts taking place in the gulf, this show was all about Bermuda shorts, fun plaids and more. It was great to see so much color, dinner shirts, blazers and more. Keds footwear was worn by each model and the end closed with all the models sporting Perry Ellis' trunks! What a fun show and for more images, check out Elle.com for more!

Mingling Mondays: Day 4 Spring 2011 ~ Vassilios Kostetsos

My last show of the night before I headed to my birthday festivities was Vassilios Kostetsos which presented mens and womens looks during his show. I felt that there was a definite Grecian vibe and many of the pieces were fab and perfect if you were spending a few weeks in Santorini! I love that every season I am introduced to a designer that I am not as familiar with and can't wait to see what he will present next season! Enjoy my two fave looks and if you want more, check out Elle.com

Mingling Mondays: Day 4 Spring 2011 ~ Custo Barcelona

Yesterday's shows continued to be as entertaining as the day started and Custo Barcelona was filled with color and mens and women's looks. These would definitely be pieces that would be fun to wear on a night out in South Beach or some tropical area but what I loved the most was the footwear! Whether it was cool sneakers for guys or sky heels - this was the best portion of this line! Check out some of my favorite looks and for more, check out Elle.com

Mingling Mondays: Day 4 Spring 2011 ~ Carmen Marc Valvo & NASDAQ

Carmen Marc Valvo Spring 2011 -Runway

Yesterday was the day of shows that were on point! To this point, this season I have seen shows at Milk Studios (Meat Packing District), Lincoln Center (UWS) and down in Chelsea - but how about a show that takes place in the NASDAQ building in Times Square and is streamed live on the huge TVs outside!?! As I headed into the building, you definitely felt that this was a finance building and interestingly enough you had to walk through metal detectors, place your bag in the scanner to check for who knows what and the elevator was in a cylindrical glass area. That was definitely interesting but once we got to the second floor, it was like any other show I was about to attend - almost. Since this space is an office building, the 2nd floor allows you to look over the railings and see the lobby below and basically it's a catwalk and they lined chairs throughout the space so it was as if the models would float by as they walked!

Backstage, I saw Carmen Marc Valvo and just seeing the hues of the clothes - amazing! Ted Gibson and his team were there making the girls look beautiful with playful sophisticated chignons and the MAC team was there doing the makeup! I have to say that this season has been exciting to be able to come up close and personal with some of the industry leaders in their profession so after a quick hi to Ted (who rocks a jean jacket well mind you), I got to know Romero Jennings the MAC Makeup artist who is so zen it's ridiculous. The videos has him talking about the look, how all factors are considered when it comes to creating the look as well as having to be flexible. In addition, hear how the layout of the show had a lot to do with the look.

I have to note that Carmen Marc Valvo is a beautiful show but being there as we received champagne before the show started, seeing the accessories that were from MCM (love) and meeting the people - he gets it. Many of the attendees were friends, celebs etc but he also brought in people who buy his clothes. I'm sure many people do that; however, the crowd that attended this show was different from any other I have encountered and they seemed to have a huge connection with him and the line which was gorgeous! I have to say that when I'm hitting a red carpet, I would want to wear his line as there were elements of Audrey meets Jackie meets southern belle. As everyone said, he gets it!

Mingling Mondays: Day 4 Spring 2011 ~ Rebecca Minkoff Presentation & Tea Time

Yesterday was my first time going to The Box. During NYFW although shows take place at Lincoln Center, there are various areas. If you go to The Stage you know it's a runway show that holds quite a bit of people. The Studio is event larger then The Stage and The Box is well a box. It's a place where the models stand on a platform and you move around the room to see the looks. It's an interesting way of presenting the line. I've loved Rebecca Minkoff's handbags since I can remember!

A few weeks ago, I got the chance to hang out with other bloggers at Rebecca Minkoff's space (gorg) to have tea, tea sandwiches, champagne, cookies etc and of course to hang out with her (she sat at my table and loved how cool she is) and to see the shoes that she was about to launch. Check out who was there by visiting Minkette, which is her blog to see it. It was so much fun and definitely made me excited to see the presentation that you will see in both videos!

Mingling Mondays: Day 4 Spring 2011 ~ Lela Rose

Lela Rose - Runway - Spring 2011 MBFW

You'll see that this show was definitely one of my favorites. My birthday was yesterday and although I was backstage at Lela Rose at 9am, this show set the tone for many of the amazing shows that I saw throughout the day. Being able to see Ted Gibson and his team work magic on the models was phenomenal yet again. I loved that in this show, Lela Rose was inspired by Peru and being out in the ocean and Ted conveyed this look with side swept, windblown braided hair - loved the look and it had such a romantic vibe. You felt that each girl had just gotten off a horse. The videos will show the looks being created with the hair and Ted actually speaks with me about the inspiration as well as finding out about his accessories (how can an Accessories Expert resist this).

The videos show the madness of backstage and Mary from Real Housewives DC was backstage (I've seen her quite a bit this Fashion Week as well as shows from yesterday - love her shoes), I got a moment to talk with Lela Rose herself and to hear about her shoe line that is sold at Payless (the ones that she is rocking - $39.95 and available)! In addition, there is footage of accessories laid out for the show, girls getting in their items and of course the final walk on the runway to close the show! Lots of goodies and it's a great way to see what I see when I am attending shows! I also loved meeting the Beauty.com team that was backstage! As always, my fave two looks!

Sponsored Fashion Week Post: Mingling Mondays ~ #NYFW Black Pearl Creations

The business of fashion is one that is very interesting! Right now, we have fall hitting the stores for 2010 and as I type this, I am heading out to my shows for the day which will be available in Spring/Summer 2011 and I have also been fielding emails about fashion collaborations that I will be working on for Fall 2011 (PS I'm wearing looks for Spring/Summer right now) - fashion just doesn't stop! But you know, we have to live in the moment so I am amping my fall collection. One of my favorite parts of fall involves scarves! I'm all about crochet and sadly, it's not a skill that I am very good at so when in doubt, you go to the professionals! How can you not love the colors that Black Pearl Creations has? I love the colors, the scarves and of course when you go on her site, you know that there are tons of items that she has that will make your wardrobe cozy and amazing! That's really what Fashion Week is all about for sure - finding great brands and seeing how it works with your style. In addition to seeing her line and supporting this independent artisan, you can also check her out on her Facebook Fan Page as well as her Twitter account @BlackPearlCreat as well. I'm so pleased that she is one of our sponsors during this season's Fashion Week!

Snazzy Sundays: Day 3 Spring 2011 ~ Charlotte Ronson

Yesterday was a very light day in terms of shows as I kicked off the morning with the Accessories Panel at DVF's Studio which you can see that post from yesterday if you need to catch up! I ended the evening at the Cocktails and Couture party at the Ted Gibson salon and then a dinner hosted by Beauty Bank at Dovetail (yum). So this is the only show post that I covered yesterday! Above as always are the top looks that I loved from the show which included attendees such as Kid Sister and Nicky Hilton! I love the black look as it's sexy, vampy and very laid back! Stay tuned tomorrow for AMAZING videos as there is a lot of backstage coverage coming up! Also thank you everyone for the birthday wishes!

Sippin Saturdays: Day 2 Spring 2011 ~ Nicole Miller

I've been a fan of Nicole Miller since I can remember. My earliest memories are her scarves and her wedding dresses! Then last year I filmed an episode on a reality show To Be a Star as a Mentor and although I didn't work with Nicole, I was pleased to hear that she was a mentor on another episode of this reality show that worked to educate girls about all aspects of being a star in the industry! Fast forward to a few months ago when I went to a launch of her newest fragrance at Saks and I had the opportunity to meet her. She has such a sense of style and is so passionate about what she does and being apart of each portion of the process. I remember when someone was gushing about one of her favorite dresses and they said that they loved it because they always thought of her designs as classic. Without missing a beat, Nicole laughed and said that she never thought of her work as classic but that they were modern.

That line stuck with me as I sat at the gorgeous space of 82 Mercer as the madness of Fashion Night Out was only moments away. From the color palettes to the use of chiffon, each piece was whimsical art that hit the runway. As usual, I have included two looks that just struck me! You could also see Cassie loved it as much as everyone else. The trend of whimsy and chiffon has been floating from one show to the next but I feel that by the end of Fashion Week I will still be buzzing about these looks.

Sippin Saturdays: Day 2 Spring 2011 ~ Buckler

Our first Men's show of this NYFW season came yesterday at the Buckler show! I loved the easy looks of the guys that came down the runway. A bit of preppy with a bit of Malibu and perfect for brunch. The show rocked and I loved the footwear as well. Casual can still be very cool without looking like you tried too hard! Love what you see - Elle.com has more images from this fab show and we have more men's shows to share with you next week as well!

Sippin Saturdays: Day 2 Spring 2011 ~ BCBG MaxAzria

Yesterday, Kitten Lounge's day kicked off with BCBG Max Azria! I remember that back in 2006 or 2007, this was the very first show that I had ever attended when I was still a newbie to NYC. I emailed them and asked and they said yes. Ever since then, I have been a fan. The show was full of celebs from Ashlee Simpson and Kelly Rowland to Miss Anna Wintour herself! This show had pops of color and neutrals and I loved the mix of whimsical edgy. As always, I picked my two faves of the show! If you want to see more then you can always check out images on Elle.com!

Sippin Saturdays: Day 3 Spring 2011 ~ DVF Lounge Accessories Panel

You're eyes aren't playing tricks on you, you're actually getting something from Day 3 on Day 3! No worries Day 2 info is coming out. This morning as I took the train into my first appointment, I was giddy to hear about my fave subject - Accessories! Not only were we talking accessories but we were in a room of amazing talent, Harper's Bazaar and yes in one of my fave places DVF's Meat Packing District store (her studio actually - it reminded me of the photoshoot that I did back in 2007 and that was shot by Franco Lacosta!). Anyway HP sponsored an interactive experience so that as we tweeted with #DVFLounge, you could read our tweets on the board. I was super excited that Alexis Bittar was on the panel as I have loved his pieces for years and LOVE my ribbon cuff that he designed and that I received at a Lori Goldstein event earlier this year!

The video is just a small part of the conversation that he shared with us but I also love knowing that if he wasn't a designer, he would have loved to have created parks. I like that he agrees with me that an accessory is a way to express yourself as a person and to let people know other things about you. As an Accessories Expert it was an amazing to hear about his decisions on collabing with Target (he didn't), his process as a designer and also actively working within his company and managing it as a Creative Director and more! Enjoy the video!
