Swoonfest Saturdays: Sponsored Post ~ Tights Can Be Right

I am not a stockings girl to be honest unless there is a chill in the air as it's something that I remember my mom telling me when I was younger! Thanks to Hanes sending me a variety of legwear, I selected a pair that was a tonal hue as I wanted my black dress to pop. Hanes has definitely expanded their offerings within their collection as they have footless legwear, convertible legwear (such a smart idea for those who would rather have a legging option), texture, designs and more! In addition to tights being a great look option, there are amazing hidden benefits including - creating a slimming look, keeping dresses down that would tend to ride up if they didn't have something to rub against to stay down as well as to lengthen your look. Regardless of whether you use them all the time or not, it's always good to have these classic staples at the ready in your closet just in case and the fact that they're under $6, it's an easy item to have on hand! Roll over the above images to see what I'm wearing and why I love it!

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective, and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

Sponsored Post: Fashionable Fridays ~ Five Celebrities that Helped Make Glasses Cool

When it comes to fashion, celebrities and the stylists that work with them, create signature looks that have admirers seeing how they can wear the same thing. Over the years, A-listers have helped make everything from the mini skirt to Ray Ban shades to gain not only popularity but icon status. This is why fashion houses all over the world from emerging to established ones continue to look for opportunities to dress as well as to select muses in order to identify their brand’s target – you!

Through their movies, TV shows and magazine spreads, the red carpets are no stranger to a number of fashion categories and thus, eyewear is a key accessory that we have all noticed. An accessory once seen as geeky is now the last word in refined cool thanks to a whole host of long and short-sighted stars. Here are some of the famous names that have proved that wearing glasses isn’t just a practicality, it’s downright sexy.

John Lennon ~ The 60s saw girls screaming and fainting in droves at the mere mention of the Fab Four, with John and Paul topping the list of every girl’s dream date. When John Lennon first appeared in his now iconic round rim frames, the screaming didn’t stop. Instantly turning this stylish vintage frame design into a must-have fashion item, even fans with 20-20 vision took to wearing false round rim frames to imitate their favourite Beatle. Still a statement frame today, John Lennon not only helped to make glasses cooler than cool, he made the round rim frame one glasses design that never goes out of style.

Catherine Deneuve ~ While the Fab Four managed to make glasses cool, French screen siren Catherine Deneuve helped give glasses sex appeal. Both onscreen and off, her powerful brand of femininity proved that glasses can be elegant, accentuating beauty. Deneuve loved glasses so much that she decided to start designing her own range for women, which you can find online at Lensway. Her designs are vintage-inspired, with a modern, feminine twist, creating delicate, ladylike frames that bring instant glamour to the world of eyewear.

Johnny Depp ~ Known for his iconic, offbeat roles in films like Edward Scissorhands and Cry Baby, Johnny Depp is not your average sex symbol. Along the way, Johnny has made his signature horn-rimmed frames, and often colourful tinted lenses, his own, helping make vintage frames the style of the moment today too.

James Dean ~ Leather-clad, motorcycle-loving and deliciously moody, James Dean’s tough-guy image remains iconic today. While you’re more likely to see him in his all-American white t-shirt and leather bomber uniform, take a look at any image gallery of him offscreen and you’ll see he was also a spectacle wearer. His glasses helped to soften his screen idol image, revealing a refined, intelligent, sensitive side, and proving that you can be a rebel and still wear frames.

Woody Allen ~Like John Lennon, Woody not only helped make glasses cool, he also succeeded in cementing the iconic status of one particular style – the Ray Ban Wayfarer. These bold, thick rim frames have seen a major comeback in recent years, especially thanks to the popularity of the sunglasses variety. While Woody remains the classic nerd’s nerd, geek chic is in these days. With everyone from Justin Timberlake to Jay-Z sporting Woody’s classic frames, his glasses helped transform him into an unlikely fashion icon.

You can find a wide selection of glasses influenced by these celebrities and others at http://www.lensway.co.uk/glasses.

Mingling Mondays: Sponsored Post ~ Novell Design Studio

As you know, I was apart of the Get Palladium Pretty campaign which focused on being over heavy metal and yet still having phenomenal gorgeous pieces that are luxurious, light weight and is cost effective due to the use of this material versus others. Interestingly enough as soon as it was placed within the October issue of Cosmo, I started noticing that Palladium Jewelry is everywhere with Kelly Osbourne being one of the spokespeople for the brands as well, she wore it on the Emmy Red Carpet show along with a number of other stunning women. In addition, when Sarah Jessica Parker launched her movie "I Don't Know How She Does It" Palladium Jewelry was apart of the premiere. With that said, It has become something that I definitely love wearing and seeing a number of designers using it! When you're buying jewelry whether it's for everyday, a gift or for a wedding (which we will be covering Bridal Week during this month) I'm excited to introduce you to today's sponsor!

Novell Design Studio which makes it precious metal pieces in NJ, presents a new line of hand-crafted bracelets created with one of the Earth’s great precious metals – palladium. Naturally white, palladium currently costs less than platinum or gold, has some of the finer qualities of platinum and will handle the trials and tribulations of every day wear very well. Palladium’s purity and preciousness make it an extremely attractive value for precious metal jewelry. Should your palladium bracelet become scratched over time (as all precious metal jewelry will), it can be refinished and restored to look new. Novell’s palladium bracelets also incorporate pink gold accents for a perfect hint of color.

Novell’s success has been in that they began as a family company (started by two guys who had a dream and worked with a small room on 47th street) with a small group of workers handcrafting sterling silver bracelets and jewelry. They grew organically from selling locally, the East Coast and then across the country. Their skill allowed them to be within a number of famed jewelry stores which allowed them to fill a niche and present their designs. Palladium bracelets can be purchased through an authorized Novell retailer. Visit their site to find a store that's in your area. Within this collection, depending on design characteristics, these phenom Palladium bracelets start at $1,000. What a great way to start invest within your accessories and ultimately to create heritage pieces which are essential to any wardrobe.

Wearable Wednesdays: Sponsored Post ~ Anjolee Jewelry

Last week, I shot with a major magazine with a phenomenal diamond brand. There is something that boosts a girl's sense of being pulled together when it comes to being frosted in diamonds. They truly are a girl's best friend (or a super close second to our furry four legged friends) so the fact that Anjolee Jewelry is today's sponsor (no I didn't shoot with them last week), I'm super excited to introduce them to you as one look on the site will allow you to think of all the ways to spruce up your outfits from casual to luxe. If you have yet to rock a pair of diamonds and are looking for a place to start, I suggest thinking about getting a diamond tennis bracelet! This is a classic piece that is a must be added into your wardrobe and when you think about a heritage item - it's a fab place to start. To this day, I still have my first few diamond tennis bracelets that were gifts for graduations, recitals and more. It's a mark in time and they can still be worn stacked together for the ultimate bling!

I love that you can rock the traditional diamond look but that doesn't mean that you should forget about thinking of a Gemstone Bracelet as they have a number of stones in blue sapphires, blue topaz, garnet, amethyst, peridot and citrine. This is a great way to add pop to a traditional look and it allows you to begin thinking of customizing your look as Anjolee allows you to do so with all of their jewelry starting with your preferred metal type (10k, 14k white or yellow gold and platinum), diamond quality carat size and bracelet length.

Another fab classic is a birthstone bracelet - I'm never above rocking a sapphire piece as I am a September baby. Anjolee offers the largest selection of bracelets online and the fact that they are the manufacturer of all the items allows you to feel secure in knowing that they stand behind their brand - which also means excellent quality at amazing price points. Beyond the classic pieces, they have a wide array of pieces that include (but are not limited to) diamond rings, diamond necklaces, pendants, diamond bangles, earrings and men's bracelets. All of your purchases have a 30 day return policy, free shipping, free gift with every purchase and free gift packaging.

Treasure Tuesdays: Sponsored Post ~ CSI's Hill Harper Talks Relationships

Hill Harper is one of the stars on the cast of CSI:NY. In addition to his success there, he is also the author of "The Conversation". No matter how long you have known someone, the topic of relationships comes up and it's something that we never get tired of hearing. We always want to know how to find that ideal someone and if there is a formula. We spend time thinking of our ideal person and wonder why sometimes he/she hasn't shown up! Harper shares his thoughts on this age old conversation and even highlights the Obama's (he was a classmate of theirs - talk about a small world) as a couple that is powerful in work as well as in their devotion together. He looks at relationships as how to start one in terms of focusing on yourself, then finding what you think is great and then the commitment of it as well. In this day and age with everything moving so fast, it's nice to know that we still get back to basics in terms of love, family and spending time with that special someone! Enjoy the clip to hear more about this book in Harper's own words.

Fashionable Fridays ~ Take on the Chill

As many of you know, when the temperatures drop, I begin to think about leaving for warmer climates; however, the fall chill isn't so bad so it's got me thinking about doing some snowboarding and having a weekend trip in the mountains! So today, one of our Fashionable Friday's posts is sponsored. Finding the right board is all about your personality and I love the one above as it's a great image and definitely reflects me! Of course the trip would take a lot of pre-planning as I would want to visit my favorite sites in order to find the perfect outfit complete with bindings and goggles that would be in keeping with the way that I like to accessorize while also looking like the professional that I like to think that I am! But how do you go about finding the right place to vacation? Whether you ski or snowboard (it's been a couple of years but I know I can get back into the swing of things) you need to figure out locations that are perfect for your ski holidays as many of us will be taking our corporate days along with those that we can use at our discretion! Take some time to check out Fast Track Ski so that you and your friends can plan a great vacation just when you're ready to get out of the city!

Sponsored Post: Mingling Mondays ~ It's About Branding

If you haven't been able to tell, I'm excited about heading out to Vegas. I always have a great time and when you're talking about this time of year, it's all about tradeshows. Everyone wants to tell you about their product, provide you a take away of sorts and they want to leave a lasting impression. There is no better way then when you see promotional models on the floor wearing the companies outfits or wearing items that have been embroidered, silkscreened, etc with the companies' logo. If this is what companies do at these venues, how much more should we think about it for our businesses, events, etc. There are a lot of options but how about a place that does various kinds of branding at one place? I'm aware of places that do graphics on tees but that doesn't always means that they do embroidery.

Today, I was introduced to Indigo Clothing which has various options for t-shirt printing and also many styles for mens and womens clothing as well as interesting bags and other promotional items. With so many options, you don't have to wonder if there is an article of clothing that represents the look you're attempting to achieve. Whether you're talking about a new lounge, booth, a video your doing or it's an additional item that you're selling on your site. Just looking at these items made me think about items that I would love to place my logo on for my jewelry line that is getting an additional line added. This would be perfect for holiday sales and when I want a cute tee for running around! In addition, it's a great idea for items on the site as well! I'll let you now how that goes!
