Can you believe this is the last Mon in April? We continue showcasing amazing influencers that I am a fan of. Today, it's all about Aljoud Lootah, founder and designer of Niftee. Back in 2007, while at Dubai Women's College, she established a fun brand that now includes various r-shirts, totes, cashmere scarves and even personalized cashmere baby blankets! Her personalized projects have appeared in the UAE Cup Series, TEDxDubai, Harper's Bazaar Arabia and within Dubai culture. We're loving that Aljoud, who obviously adores her iPhone 4, designed a new iPhone cover at the Art Dubai's DXB Store launch! Of course when you design something for the iPhone, you have a few apps that you adore. Aljoud loves her apps for Style.com (true fashionista), she stays color perfect while using myPantone, pictures become super fun when using Instagram (I know my boyfriend Paul is a huge fan of this) and BigOven which has fab recipes! But it's not all about business, above and below you'll find out more about Aljoud from riding horses to loving The Gramercy in Dubai's International Financial District (yet another place that I am adding to my must see list when I visit Dubai)!
When it comes to fashion, she loves prints, patterns and floral pieces. When she's not being busy, her favorite vacation spots are in Paris and the south of France. But of course as much as we dream about being in dreamy places, we think about where we'd like to see our work. Aljoud would love to have Sheikha Moza bint Nassir AlMisned, wife of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa AlThani (Emir of the State of Qatar) wear her scarves as she feels it would be a dream come true! She believes that she is a true fashion icon with exquisite sense of style. Currently she is working on a new concept for the FW2011-2012 collection of cashmere scarves, tops and more. She is working on commissioned jobs for various organizations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi (corporate gifts).
If you love finding out about Aljoud, make sure that you check out Sabina, founder, of Sabina Les. from last week.
