I'm so excited to share a new segment on Kitten Lounge as I'm always asked what bracelets I'm wearing and why! As an Accessories Expert, I have a number of bracelets I love to rock from cuffs, wraps and more. With Spring being around the corner, there's definitely a need to start boosting this part of your closet which allows you to dress up bikinis, maxi dresses and so much more. Wrap bracelets beg to be stacked and worn with a number of pieces whether you're displaying an array of colors, going monochromatic or sharing your colorblocked look.
This season many trends will be on display with a number of hues. I'm loving this silver vermeil and vibrant yellow bracelet from Sho London that has great braided detail as well as that charm effect. When it's about keeping it neutral, you have to consider Gorjana's triple sand colored wrap with ring hardware. Blee Inara has a braided bracelet that has a hanging charm which adds a bit of whimsy to the look with a bold turquoise which is always perfect for the spring/summer. Wrap bracelets come in various forms and I love the mixed media of this Venessa Arizaga which incorporates chain and threads. I love that although this piece is edgy, it has a classic look that works with a number of looks from boyfriend cardigans to simple tanks. When it comes to wrap bracelets, I love those that are thin but I also love the ones that have a bit of depth, Linea Pelle has a fan large wrap that can still mix well with other bracelets and has the look of multiple layers which is a great way to accessorize with the nailhead detailing.
Many of the above looks are boho chic and many times, you want to have heritage brands within the mix which are also including wrap bracelets within their collection. Links of London - they bring together roped braiding with sterling silver which definitely makes it a classic. Hermes has a buckled vintage bracelet that can be worn as easily with jeans as well as cocktail dresses. Finally, I'm loving the buckle detail of Balenciaga which is yet another great classic that you will find yourself gravitating towards.
Another great season comes to a close as last night, a handful of shows walked the Mercedes Benz Maimi Swim Fashion Week runways! I am obsessed with the prints that hit ANK Swimwear! Swimwear is all about bikinis, bathing suits and of course great coverups! Earlier this week, right after N Natori's preview event, I went to Meet at the Apartment to see a special preview of Bob Marley the Movie thanks to Amy Chandra, Editor in Chief of Midtown Girl and founder of Socialista New York! This movie is available in select theaters on April 20th, On Demand as well as on Facebook! This event oozed Jamaican elements as we munched on Beef Patties, Chicken Patties, Veggie Patties, Cod Fritters and Jerk Chicken by Miss Lilys. I also loved the fun tote bag, tee (from Cedella's line) as well as cosmetic case. This event gave us a peek into Bob Marley's life and the event allowed us to also see Cedella Marley (daughter of Bob Marley) via Skype to talk about her father's legacy, his influence on fashion as well as her clothing line which pays tribute to The Wailers, has fun bikinis and she will also dress the men's and women's Jamaican Track and Field Teams as well during this Olympics!
So much for the weather report that threatened fashionistas everywhere with the possibility of our biggest series of days of getting rained out! Today, temperatures rose and my sister, Paul and I headed to Le Bain at the Standard Hotel. As the sun beat down on us on the deck and the astro turf, we were treated to a presentation by Prism which included vibrant bikinis, bathing wear for men and sunglasses! The models sunned and baked on the waterbed pods and even had a hot tub to jump into. Guests enjoyed Svedka Vodka cocktails, crepes with various options and mini popsicles in cucumber, beet and fudge. It was definitely fun to mingle with others and then head downstairs to the Standard Grill to enjoy a few beers and to cool down from the heat.

The summer is here and we're so happy about all the possibilities that it can bring! Last month (yes it is the last day of May so we're talking about April), we introduced you to two weeks of some of our favorite bikinis and paired them with fab looks! In addition, these bikinis will be at Curve in NY and/or Las Vegas! We love covering Curve in Las Vegas and can't wait to share all the amazing intimates, swimwear and men's underwear while we're there! But if you thought that we were going to stop talking bikinis, we had to include a post about Maaji Swimwear and pair it up just in time for the summer! In addition, we love that we are launching our nearly month long giveaway of Maaji Swimwear (we can't wait to see them at Curve Las Vegas)! Forget about the up and down weather that we have been having lately, we know that Summer will come to us or we will go to it! I can't lie that I am super excited to be heading to the DR later on this month for a few days to soak in some much needed sun! With that said, we may not be in college anymore but Spring Break reminds us of the times when we would pack up to fun locations where you only needed bikinis, maxis and more to be dressed for any and all occasions. Now this same theme reminds us to book our long weekends, take a week off and to also prep for consistently warm weather!
With that, we're super pumped to launch Spring Break on Kitten Lounge starting next week on April 18th - the 29th! You'll find out what bikinis we're loving, how to dress it up and you won't have to wonder what travel accessories and coverups are a must for your upcoming trips! We're loving the beach loving look of Seafolly and you'll be introduced to more brands coming up over the next two weeks so you're set for Spring and Summer! We'll have fun videos and more and I'll connect to you via Dominican Republic as I will be enjoying my own days away while designing my upcoming Spring 12 collection for Sebago! But a proper kick off would be nothing without a party! This Thursday night we're kicking off Kimmie's Gimmies Spring Break Tweet Party in the most essential way possible, 10 bloggers that I'm loving right now will join me for manis and some "getting Spring Break ready" advice by Celebrity Nail Stylist and Polished Beauty Bar owner, Susan Nam at her UWS salon. After getting our nails done, I'm sharing some of my must have's for the Spring/Summer of 2011. We'll include beauty, apparel and fashion brands (we have some fun brands that we can tell you about including Batiste and Skagen Denmark but will let you know day of who will be joining in on the fun) and we'll let you know what to keep an eye out for while also being able to give you opportunities to win giveaways. If you're like me, you're already planning your bikini outfits but you should also think about your skin and suncare as well! Yes the bikini is essential and you can never go wrong with such brands as Rosa Cha and of course, pair them with espadrilles from Jimmy Choo! But none of it matters if you're skin isn't flawless and being protected! Now I think your tote must have Boscia blot paper that makes sure you skin has no oils. Of course, even though it is a necessity, it can still look super cute! I know that many are against wearing makeup when you workout and hit the beach but the fact of the matter is, I don't leave my door without makeup on. When we hit this in between weather, I always think about how much I miss the typical high school and collegiate Spring Breaks! They were filled with trips to South Beach, Orlando, San Destin and much more. You packed feeling silly to lair up in hoodies but knowing that when you deplaned, you'd be in amazing weather. Now, my work allows me to travel a lot and Spring Break can happen anytime but everytime March Madness starts, I begin to think about back in the day. This is why I knew that we had to bring Spring Break in this year - April 18th - April 29th we will launch our own break. Each day we will talk about our favorite bikinis and how we can pair them. Coming off of SXSW, I can definitely use a vacation but with a number of events coming up over the next few weeks it seems that it will be sometime in May or right after my next HSN appearance before I can enjoy solitude. Until then, I'm ok with warm climates and bringing my work with me.

I saw my favorite show so far - Rosa Cha. As many of you know, I am a huge fan of the line and if I could, I would wear bathing suits everyday without a doubt. I love that the Goodie Bags had Haviannas in them (I will be swimming in them by the end of the show) and I love the fact that there were steel drums playing prior to the start of the show. I was so pleased to attend this how as Chanel Iman was in the show and totally rocked her kaftan. For an accessory designer or anyone that enjoys accessories, I was delighted to see cuffs, rings, earrings and so much more. The pallette of the swimsuits stayed within the Opal White, Red, Green and Leaden Brown shades. Enjoy the gallery and will someone book me a trip to Brazil after seeing that amazing
