London Collections Men continues into its final day. With the winter coming upon us, we're looking for vibrant color and we found it with Orlebar Brown which launched six uears ago via Adam Brown, a photographer! He conceived this line which creates tailored swimwear for men! What a great alternative to what's out there in the marketplace and this season which looks at FW2013 is not only retro (this very Art Deco and everything I love about Miami as the collection is broken out into 3 areas: Miami Nights, Poolside Decadence and Beach Frivolity) but fun with it's yellows, red and a hint of mint! With a mix of printed shorts, blazers, oversized bags and more - we're ready ot jump on a cruise to really embrace this look. Who doesn't love bringing in that Miami sense no matter where you're off to or just popping it in to the overall look?
Suitsupply, for the third year in a row, will be dressing the Dutch Olympic and Paralympic team and their entourage! Their head designer, Murray Coetzee designed the above four looks which we will see next week during the opening ceremony. There is a nod within its style to iconic English sports and being trimmed by the colors of the Dutch flag. How cute is the oversized tulip just to remind you that this is the fkower of the dutch! How can you not love the tennis blazers and cricket cable knits. If you check out other portions of this collection which can be purchased, there are badges decorated with British landmarks.
In addition to loving the looks and wanting the trench coat! I would definitely suggest these fun hues if you're looking to rock a little orange and blue while watching the Olympics Opening Ceremony next week. As you know, I'm a huge fan of all shades Butter London and on my other days, Essie as these bring in both of the hues that these Olympians are wearing for their country.
Now as you know, this past Sat, I got an invite for Ainsley! I am such a fan of this clothing line as I wore portions of their Spring Collection during my photoshoot for Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12 (my footwear line). About a week prior to the show, I received my invite in a flask with an A monogrammed on it as apart of my invitation to this fun show on the west side. I am such a fan of presentations as I love being able to see clothing placed within vignettes that allow you to immerse yourself into the line's aesthetic. This Fall/Winter 2012 NYFW show makes me giddy thinking about cute blazers, chunky sweaters and this merge between the preppy/rugged look. Enjoy some of my favorite images from this weekend's show!
So when you see my boyfriend Paul when we're heading to meetings for my brands or to symposiums for his businesses, he's decked out in jeans and a number of blazers (he adores the blazer he got from Cairo) but when we're just hanging out, doing errands, or just relaxing - he loves wearing tees. Now this is something I am a huge fan of as I love relaxing in that as well! So I had to think about Stadium Chic - there is something about chunky scarves, layering and more when you go tailgating that you can bring into the everyday without looking too frat boy!
I'm obsessed with henley's and ADORE grey and when it comes to organic cotton, no one does it better then James Perse which I love wearing their tees so it's perfect on him. Layer that up with a fun graphic tee. Since he loves orange, I'm loving this SuperDry shirt which is fab. Pair it with these fun panelled jeans by Jeckerson which has a slimming fit and fab details. To keep him warm, I want him to rock an edge of hunter with this Barbour x To Ki for J Crew which has a hood and tons of pockets! This will add a nice rustic look to it and then the Johnston Murphy orange and grey scarf will be phenom and his feet always stay warm when he rocks his UGG Australia Ascot Wool shoes which are perfect for walking around the house (he adores them and we have a matching set) or for running out in our market across the street!
Accessories Expert/Stylist Q&A: What's a great way to tone down a look that shows a bit more skin via accessories?
There are a number of ways that you can go with this look! I love rocking low cut tees or blazers as jackets. This can be done regardless of the time of day. This question is definitely more important when you're thinking of showing a bit more skin when you're still going to work or running around in the day or even if you're wearing this at night and don't want to feel so exposed. First, make sure you try the outfit on at home and ensure that no matter how you stand, sit etc that you are not bordering on wardrobe malfunctions and that you have the appropriate support to keep all your items permanently affixed (Hollywood Tape is your friend). Mommie to be and all around "girl who is running the world", Beyonce rocked the launch of yet another season of her House of Dereon created by her and her mom, Tina Knowles.
I love that in principle, this look is super easy and comfortable and is flattering to so many body types bu it's perfection when it comes to running around. You can never go wrong with a cardi/jacket that is slightly oversized with a pair of leggings and of course, I love the fact that it's all about glitz. Keeping that monotone look is fab when it comes to rocking some fun accessories. Mixed Media is on trend this season (as it has been for the past few). This is when you rock a number of metals together which creates an edgy look that has more depth. Beyonce is rocking a chain linked necklace that embodies gold and silver and although it does sit high on her neck, I love that there are irregular and longer pieces that eat up space where her skin is exposed - so she's not so bare and totally appropriate! With all the glitz she's rocking, I'm loving her bracelet that has a great gold tone and appears to be either stacked or a slimmer cuff.
If you're rocking a lower cute v-neck tee, low blazer etc you can add this same aesthetic by a number of fun necklaces just like Bey! Available on Bluefly, Rich in Friendship has a phenom friendship necklace that will lay nicely along the collar bone and create depth around your neck while being playful with the mix of metals. Coralia Leets has a fun dual pendant set that uses fun precious stones that have a pop of gold around them. You can even layer fun charms on top of this of various lengths to create additional depth! Finally Lara Bohinc, although it's in one tone" is perfect for the girl that loves to embrace her symmetry but still have amazing pop factor without playing with how the necklace lays. I love the knot and how this is definitely a conversation piece! Finally, Gorjana has a bar bracelet in a gold tone (much like what Beyonce is wearing) that can be worn alone or you can obtain a few of these and stack them for an effortless look!
Whether you're rocking the runway, aisles at work or your well traveled sidewalk - this look can be owned by you totally and worn with a number of key looks as we transition into fall!
Going into fall, you'll see me rocking leggings, blazers and fun tops that are all about being paired with fab accessories. Especially going into Fashion Week, these are basic components that I always gravitate towards. This Elizabeth & James blazer is a great classic that will always look phenom with Topshop's leggings. Then you have a ton of tops that you can mix in - Marc Jacob's shirt is definitely a great way to pop color and texture in. In terms of accessories, you can always find a reason to slide into a pair of Christian Louboutin's - who doesn't love double platform heels with the signature pop of red. I'm loving Iosselliani's horn and multi ombre strand necklace which has the perfect amount of classic, natural edge to it. Finally, Valentino's one of a kind python satchel is a great way to add additional texture and is the ultimate conversation piece.
It's always an amazing time to attend Perry Ellis' show and with him incorporating his support of assisting to fund the oil spill relief efforts taking place in the gulf, this show was all about Bermuda shorts, fun plaids and more. It was great to see so much color, dinner shirts, blazers and more. Keds footwear was worn by each model and the end closed with all the models sporting Perry Ellis' trunks! What a fun show and for more images, check out Elle.com for more!
When the weather begins to transition, you see a lot of fun blazers, jackets, swing coats etc make an appearance. Since it becomes to warm to a winter coat and not quite warm enough to go without something - you have to think creatively on how to stay in sync with the temperature. I love the swing coat from Spiegel's with a cropped look a long sleeve (not a fan of cropped jackets with a 3/4 sleeve although I have two). This is a great way to go from day to night with many of these looks and to add some pop to your denim and leggings as well!
