As the days click by, I continue to integrate Revolt Now Fitness into my daily workouts. For those that are following this workout (or aren't), many ask what do I use when I am doing the workouts. Over the years, I have build up quite a collection of items to use from pilates bands, a number of yoga mats a Core Body Reformer and more. Roll over the above images to see what I enjoy using and where you can snag it. Interestingly enough, I have to say that a number of my work out gear and outfits actually come from TJ Maxx as a number of my fave brands such as Avia, Fila, Puma and more can be found there for super cute looks whether I'm running in Central Park, taking a session at Exhale Spa or are working out at home.
A few weeks ago, Paul and I were off to Spin NYC (yes the place that's a bar with ping pong tables) for Axe's Combine House! Hosted by Jason Pierre - Paul (Defensive End for NY Giants and Super Bowl winner) and Kate Upton (recent cover model for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit for 2012), we were able to play ping pong as well as to toss the football around! It was definitely a fun way to expend some energy and to see these two play, do a bit of a runway and just to hang out!
When it comes to fitness, it's always important to do it smelling well - so we're loving this 2 in 1 shampoo conditioner which keeps his style easy as well as saving him time! In addition if you and your guy decide to work out together (Central Park anyone?) - make sure that you have plenty of water to take along with you. I'm loving Victoria's Secret water bottles - even a guy can use this as it's grey and not overly girly. If you're opting to throw the frisbee, play a little football or whatever get's your cardio up, why not bring the perfect bag with you? I received The Chica Bag from Cuddly Monkey which is a great tote whether you're a new mom or a person on the go. I love that the black bag is an East - West style and allows you to bring quite a few items and on the inside, there is a fun lining so you see the contrast and nothing misses your eyes when you're looking in there. There is also a secret pocket that allows you to put items in there for quick accessibility as well. Check out Kitten Lounge's Facebook page to find out how you can win this tote for your next excursion!
Currently, I'm prepping to go to today's Gold Cup in Virginia which is analogous to the Kentucky Derby! With a fabulous welcome to DC last night, I'm beyond excited about today but there are other things that are super important as well which blends fashion with activism for those that need our help! Bloomingdale's encourages everyone to walk to make a difference and if you're in NYC on May 15th, you can walk through Central Park to assist in those who continue to fight, who have lost the fight and those that agree that we need a future WITHOUT AIDS!
With this clear message, we know that Bloomingdale's has gotten behind many causes and you can support via the power of shopping with this unisex T-shirt, exclusively made by Alternative Apparel, which will retail for $18.00. For every shirt sold, Bloomingdale's will donate $10.00 to benefit Aids Walk New York. Shirts can be purchased at select Bloomingdale's (59th Street, Soho, Huntington, White Plains, Roosevelt Field, Bergen County, Short Hills, Willowbrook) and of course you can check out Bloomingdale's regardless of whether it's in your local store. Of course as you walk, truly rock it out with this amazing look!
Here in NYC, I see more people feeling the need to be outdoors. You always had those die hard fans who even in the winter suited up but living next to Central Park, it's the thing to do to have some kind of activity going on! With that said, I'm seeing packs of boys heading to portions of the park for Rugby, softball, girl watching (that's a sport right) and more. So its obvious that if you all hang out for some bromance time that you just might continue to be out and about for a pint or food! Leaving your home always presents another opportunity to rock the runway so today's look is inspired by four brands that are all about classic Americana - Rugby, J. Crew, Sebago and Michael Kors tell my blues story without a sappy ending - plus it's perfect for the transitional weather we're all desperately hoping for!
If you were in NYC this weekend, Central Park was crawling with people as we had sunny weather, buds on the trees and it felt reasonable enough to be out with a few layers on! Summer is around the corner but for now we're satisfied with not having to walk through snow and ice. If the winter can stay like this until Spring, I'm a happy girl! I was with the boyfriend this weekend and seeing that I live by the park, it's appropriate to begin thinking of fun outfits for him when it's time to be outside and relaxed! A picnic is much more enjoyable in the park when you have a fab look that you're rocking! Today, I'm inspired with my ongoing love affair with grey! I'm a huge fan of John Varvatos and think his sweaters are phenom and a must in any wardrobe. These can be paired with a number of fun jeans but try to have a bit of a tapered leg and stray from the boot cut style of jeans whether you opt for skinny or straight for him. Pop on our scarf whether you're guy is bold and goes for color or add some black into the look! Finally, you know that I'm a Sebago girl from my appearances with them on HSN as an On Air Host to designing Kimmie Smith x Sebago Fall 11 Collaboration (can I just say that if you loved the fall collection from the previews, you'll love what I have in store for you for Spring 12) - I think it's the perfect hanging out for the weekend kind of shoe!
Regardless of the summer weather that we have received over the past few days, I know it's Fall when Starbucks has its Pumpkin Spiced Latte available (with their Pumpkin Loaf). Instantly this makes me think of slight chills in the air, brunches, walking around with coffee in Central Park and apple/pumpkin picking. Being from Indiana, this is one of those things that I love most about the fall and miss about not being in my hometown. But via Google you're only a farm away and it's nice to drive outside of the city to stay with friends or a bed and breakfast so that you can enjoy the experience. His Style dictates that a weekend out in the country can be done city chic but still in a coordinated way. The easiest thing is for him to grab a pair of jeans, sneakers, a tee and a scarf - done! In addition, make sure that his bag is not something random. Whether his style is uptown or downtown, there's a bag for that and I love this one by Jack Spade! Take some time to find simple ways to chicify his t-shirt and jeans look and make sure you try to go get fresh fruits and veggies at your local farm or to a vineyard!
They're saying that April was our warmest month and although that is amazing, today is going to be super warm! Yes, it's Saturday and although many people snuck out to enjoy fab rays, you too can join in on the fun! Whether you're eating at outdoor cafes or you create your own spread in Central Park, it's bound to be an amazing day! What I love the most is that if you opt to lay out, you can enjoy it in a number of ways whether you're hanging out with your towel, putting together a tasty spread or enjoying bevvies! Take some time to enjoy the weather and get excited that this weather will be the rule this season and not the exception!
With the amazing weather that we have been enjoying, you begin to think of all the activities that you can do outside as opposed to inside. Whether you're hitting Central Park, your rooftop, the beach, etc - you have to take in the fresh air. Right now I'm on the countdown to April 3rd as the new iPad is coming out. It will be so much nicer to bring this as opposed to my laptop as it's way lighter and can fit in this fab bag by Marc by Marc Jacobs! Grabbing my travel mug (I'm recently obsessed with hot water, lemon, honey from Hampton's Honey and a bit of ginger - yum) and then hitting outside to get some work done or just to wait for friends before hitting my fave brunch spot - Paris Commune.
This weekend is all about getting some serious work done outdoors as we have fun projects coming up. If you haven't already and you're in NYC, check out our week of fitness with Exhale Spa April 12th - April 19th. We have a fun partnership with an amazing showroom here in NYC and there will be a Hampton's themed event at this fun party (deets to follow) and a fun event coming up from one of my fave lingerie stores, Sugar Cookies. Kitten Lounge is definitely taking some huge steps that kick off this summer. If you've been enjoying our Sweet Guide (which has great Spring picks), you will LOVE our Hampton's Guide which kicks off May 1st and goes full force throughout the summer starting Memorial Weekend with one of our largest giveaways that will assist you to whatever global beach you're heading to. If you thought our Holiday Guide was amazing with Coach, you will flip at the fabness that will be in our second largest guide of the year.
Of course we also have Project Accessory which is an amazing new webisode that will kick off the first week of April. No longer will you have to wonder about what accessories you should embrace and what's out there as I will bring this to you weekly. We have fab brands that are coming on board and I can't wait to share them with you! Reach out if you're an accessories designer that wants to be on board. Of course, I've been running around a lot so if you want to stay connected make sure you check out the Kitten Lounge as well as The Style Pod. Enjoy the weather and happy Spring everyone it's the first day!
Whether you're playing hookie today or you work for yourself and you have given yourself a day off, who knows where you will end up? I love wearing something that's not only comfortable but whether you're in Central Park, Starbucks or anywhere, you're able to enjoy that and can still catch drinks and lunch with friends later on! Sometimes on a day off, I may start doing some reading (you should check out Book Swim which lets you rent all your favorites from beach reads to thrillers) and realize that I must spend the day at an art gallery as it's something that I love to do but never have the time. I love carring something like Snapz which allows me to put everything away in a cute tote! Either buy one that has already been designed for you or you can build your very own Eco friendly bag! Along the way to wherever you're heading, bring a travel mug with one of your favorite tea or coffee blends and let the day take shape! If you end up going out to a cool bar, everything can be easily put away and you're ready to share all the "hard things" that you did throughout the day! Love what you see? As always, click the links in the spread above!
Fashion and style isn't just about what you're wearing on your back! It's about the flair that you show no matter what you're up to. I'm all about going to back to basic ideas and what about planning an amazing picnic lunch for Central Park, Prospect Park or wherever you're storybook park resides! Think about getting a cute retro bike, a basket to carry a lunch filled with cheese, crackers, fruits, etc, a blanket so that you can play Scrabble (for some people you better bring your laptop so that you can access your Scrabble dictionary as some people like to test you on whether your tiles are a word) and of course your favorite wine! This is a great collection that you should have whenever you're ready to embrace nature! If you need more ideas, check this out and find out what else is available to you! Although it's rainy, I'm sure we will begin to have amazing consecutive sunny days!
