Mingling Mondays ~ Zoe Saldana at the MTV Movie Awards
Last night, Zoe Saldana hit the red carpet of the MTV Movie Awards yesterday and although I would have loved to have seen something else in terms of her apparel (yes it's Givenchy but for me, there are a lot of trends - floral, cut outs, lace, etc placed together and it doesn't allow you to enjoy the overall sophostication of the look) - I love the accessories that she's rocked! While many awards shows are all about high glamour, there are also shows where people are able to dress laid back and to be a bit more casual. Both of these rings are amazing and a great way to take your look to whole other level even when you're casual (of course when you're dressed up, these rings are absolute stunners). Although the first day of Spring kicked off yesterday, this in between weather makes me think about taking a proper getaway and when that happens - you have to go warm weather and beaches as far as the eye can see! With that in mind, I present to you the 10 items that are an essential when it comes to looking amazing. What I love about these key items is that many of them can be interchanged with your looks even when you're back battling the temperatures. Wearable Wednesdays ~ NYFW Must Have Accessories
My tech is pretty important to me no matter where I go but during NYFW it's such an essential that I double check to make sure that I have everything. Although I'm so fortunate to live a few streets away from Lincoln Center (one of the areas that NYFW takes place), I can't bank on being able to swing by my apartment when I'm off to shows, presentations, gifting suites and so much more. So I ensure that everything is not only fashionable but I can run my office from anywhere and still hang out with my girls as we touch base between sushi and cocktails (love TB'ing with Raijean, my sister, Makeda, Kitty and more).
So to stay fab and connected, I suggest the following! Like many my iPad allows me to do a number of things from staying on schedule, taking notes, taking some pics etc. Keep it fab by including it in my Linea Pelle (love that they are sponsoring me this season and that you will see me rocking their bags, belts and of course my case) Dylan Croco iPad Case. I'm not an orange girl per se but it's Paul's fave color and I love rocking hues that he loves seeing. I love the Go Smart Stylus which allows me to work on my iPad without using my fingers and to accurately selecting what needs to be done. As I never know when I'm traveling, my passport is always on hand and I enclose it in a vibrant holder by Lodis. All of this can fit into my Bottega Veneta bag which is a fab hobo in a caramel color.
My key accessory is a scarf and I love this one by Guess that works well with a number of looks or if there is a slight chill in some of the presentation areas. I am a huge fan of sunglasses and love this retro oversized pair by Miu Miu. Since I love to do touchups or to build upon a look, I always bring a few more cosmetic items than normal and this cosmetic case maintains a great pop of color by Givenchy cosmetic case. Finally, it's all about a fab wallet as you'll be pulling it out a number of times for whatever reason - no need to stop accessorizing, love this one by Alexander McQueen.

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Pre NYFW Wrap Up Meetings
We're a little over a week from the kick off of NYFW. What I love about this season is that right before the shows, there are a number of activities that are taking place that I'll be hosting, supporting others and more. I'm spending my time running to showrooms to finish styling my clients who will be attending shows, brands who I'm styling their shows and some clients who will just be in the city as NYFW ends on Valentine's Day. How do you dress when you're in work mode and running around like crazy? I love to do it with the look above! I obsess over the perfect white shirt over a pair of leggings, fab over the knee boots scarves and some fab accessories! This takes me from me showrooms, event spaces, cocktails with friends in the city and those coming in and my fab clients that love grab sushi and cocktails. This is a great day to night look and one that works as you go.
I start with the basics - I love a short sleeve tee that's draped this is great to layer but even in this freezing weather, I opt for no sleeves this shirt by Armani Collezioni that can be paired with these faux leather pants (sexy) by Generation Love which elongates the leg. I love that you can add a cozy layer with this infinity scarf by by Swell. Complete the look with my go to, over the knee boots by Sergio Rossi.
Bundle up against the cold with these super cute earmuffs by Coach and this fabulous purple coat with fur trim by Alberta Ferretti - how cute is it when this is all together.
Now it's all about the accessories. My eyes are sensitive in the sun in the winter as the cold air definitely makes me tear up. Rock these oversized sunglasses Givenchy frames. Karl Attens has a fabulous pair of fingerless gloves accessorized with fun Swarovski Crystals. Since I'm always on my phone, it's easier for me to rock this look as opposed to having completely covered fingers. Finally, it's all about the bag. This Michael Kors satchel is the perfect way for me to bring everything I need. This is the perfect item for those fashionable errands, meetings and the tent.

Fashionable Fridays: Maid of Honor Edition ~ On the Run

So with New York Fashion Week being days away as well as the simultaneous launch of Shoe Week, I was slightly taken aback when I received some invites for upcoming bridal shows taking place in Oct. Now I cover bridal, that's not the issue; however, this season it has more meaning since my sister is newly engaged! So this season, it will be me covering but also have my mom and sister there to view the designs!
Although my sister will have a destination wedding, I'm pumped about doing the fun things like running errands and how about us doing this in cute hoodies she can rock the Victoria's Secret bride hoodie and I can have one that says Maid of Honor! We can also have matching cropped sweat pants from the brand. I never go anywhere without oversized sunglasses and this pair by Givenchy is perfect!
My sister and I will be running around and yet again, what's more fun then buddy bags! This bag is cute and perfect for my sister (although I would rock the gunmetal hue of this in violet) by . I love to rock a fun nail hue from Butter London and this hue is so fun when you ensure that your steps are also in the colorstory! In addition, I'm loving that we can stay comfy with my favorite flip flops from Havaianas. Treasure Tuesdays ~ Olive Luxe
I am such a fan of olive as it's perfect year around but as we get closer to fall, I embrace this hue even more! Today's look is inspired by a very large love of mine pony hair and python! I'm loving these Givenchy Camel Suede Pony Hair platform pumps. Because I love a bit of that monotone look, how about these Utzon Natural leather leggings which are super slimming on your legs. I had to pair this with the Nancy Gonzalez Tassel Dome Bag which is such a great color and perfect for the change in seasons. Include this Givenchy draped top which is perfect for going out and brunching. I love that you can pair this with a fabulous necklace from Becky Kelso with an olive pendant. To continue bringing in these neutrals, I love this Coralia Leets bracelet and I like how it is balanced with Jamie Joseph quartz ring which is hand faceted and with diamonds. Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Around the Corner
I love a weekend prior to a holiday! In my case, the weekend prior to a holiday means that I can get odds and ends done prior to the 4th and my upcoming travel! It's all about the perfect pot of tea (whether I sip it in the morning, chill it or add a little champagne to it) which starts off with my Breville. I'm loving Kusmi Tea especially in Detox which is a great way to kick off the day. Since this weekend is bound to be gorgeous, I want to be ready for anything whether it's a lunch or a night out so slip on this Missoni jumpsuit which reminds me of candy and all the sweetness that a weekend is meant to have. Fashionable Fridays ~ Dressed to the Maxi
I live for maxis as it's super easy to wear when you're cozy as well as to accessorize it up! I love that this striped dress by Calvin Klein looks amazing with these heels from Sergio Rossi pops in black, yellow and pink within the straps of the shoes. Pair this look with this large envelope Givenchy clutch makes the look upscale. I love this cuff which is an elongated one with a separation that creates an intricate look by Citrine by the Stones. Finally, rock a fab cocktail ring by Mesi Jilly, which combines onyx and a cowrie shell ring to add just a dash of glamour to the overall look.

Trendy Thursdays ~ Holiday Glam in a Flash
When it comes to my go to holiday look, I don't mind being a bit more bold then I normally would! I'm all about subtle hues for sure when it comes to my face but I love a bold eye. Here are some of my personal faves that I don't leave without and always have in my bag especially during the holiday season in case I need to spruce up quickly! Besides using my new found fave foundation from Dior as a base which hydrates my skin, I either use my 24/7 Urban Decay Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Kohl but my backup is also Sephora's kohl pencil as I like having a powerful black eye. With eyeshadow, you can't go wrong with Givenchy which has a number of fun hues that you can wear alone or can pair with one another to make a fabulous smoky eye. I believe you can't look amazing without bronzer - it doesn't matter what the temperature is, it's a necessity and gives you that natural glow so Lancome's compact is a great one although I love using a number of them but tend to stick to Laura Geller's Baked versions. Lips in a natural hue always look stunning and refreshed and Guerlain has a number of lipglosses that are a must. I have been known to mix 2 - 3 glosses together to create my signature hue! Dior's mascara is a must for me and whether I mix it in a cocktail (meaning placing other mascaras in if it's a huge night out or a shoot) or alone, my lashes would not leave the house for a night out without it! Finally, stay fresh with Coach's rollerball which comes in a duo scent and has my favorite half - Poppy!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Turkey Day Fashion 2
Yesterday I shared one of my fave looks to rock as you think about what you can wear for Thanksgiving. Today, it's all about that rustic boho chic vintagesque vibe that's fun to wear. Start off with basics such as jeggings from Seven For All Mankind and pair it with a Balmain tank which has the perfect amount of distressed detailing. Top it all off with this fabulous boucle Givenchy cardigan. Pair it with Yves Saint Laurent pendant which brings in natural qualities to the overall look. This cocktail ring by Dara Ettinger has a fab mix of clustered citrine and gold which is perfect as you're talking turkey. Finally, pop on Koolaburra's Veleta which has fab fringe detail which is perfect footwear conversation!

Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Pony Hair Dreams
I'm such a fan of Pony Hair! It's been something that I have definitely embraced in my wardrobe since last fall but now I know that I need to have it in my current rotation! Above, I have a number of fab items that are the perfect way to bring this luxe texture into your wardrobe. Jimmy Choo has this fabulous wallet that's a brown and ivory print. When you're running errands, you have to do so with this fab large saddle bag from Henry Cuir which looks great with leggings and boots. Givenchy, has this fab pair of ankle shoes which are oh so very Anthropologie and beg to be worn with a number of outfits! You have to go vintage and no one does it better than Chanel with this super cute clutch. Christian Louboutin always makes an appearance when you are talking about items to add into your wardrobe! I love this black and white combo. DVF has a fab ruby patchwork clutch which of course is in the famed pony hair look! Fendi's platform boots are phenom and knee high as well. Menswear is always a nice touch within your look so I'm loving Dolce & Gabbana's croc and pony hair oxfords. Finally, I'm OBSESSED with House of Harlow's Orina clutch which has a nice weight to it, fits fab in your hand and of course is pony hair!

Snazzy Sundays ~ Falling Fur Fall
I have to say that I am obsessed over this look without question. My obsessions begins with the fact that I am in a huge Jean transition. For the past 2 years, I have drooled over and rocked Hudson Jeans exclusively and then I slipped on a pair of Joe's Jeans at the last minute and the love affair began! I had always heard about their Honey Cut and now I never want to take them off kittens! The Honey is meant for those of us that have those fab curvy butts and I have to say that it looks pretty amaze and I will be combing the racks to continue to add to my Honey/Joe's love affair.
As I mentioned in my Betty Confidential interview, fur is definitely something that has always been in fashion but is definitely a focus within my wardrobe this season. This is such an easy look as it can be outerwear as well as the actual main focus of the look (you can rock henley's, tees and so much more). I love this mixed grey, black, cream fur vest by Ines & Marechal and as many people know, I love belts and this one by Givenchy is so fab that it simply has to be paired together. Pair it up with some fab over the knee wedge boots (stellar); however, all boots are not the same. My current drool worthy brand is Camilla Skovgaard as it's like art when you step and I love the boho chic vibe that it provides. Expect to see a lot more shoes from this brand included within future posts and once you have secured them, you can rock the rest of the look with accessories. I got some time to hang out at the Robert Verdi Fashion Week Lounge and reconnected with one of my fave accessories brands - Linea Pelle! This bracelet is a great way to wrap up the look and then pop on a ring. I'm obsessed with Sandra Dini as It's all about nuvo glam which is my favorite look to rock as it's natural, glam and fab!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Old World Beauty Meets the New
On a super toasty day where walking seemed like the utmost effort I hit 57th street which between Madison and 5th Ave, every name that you could imagine that has left the mouths of the Sex and the City girls can be found. Regardless of the heat, you can't pass such names as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior etc without being at least the tiniest bit - giddy! So as I headed to the corporate offices of Louis Vuitton to take in the Passport to Beauty, I knew that there would be an amazing presentation of new products that will be available this holiday and of course this fall! Please know that there will be lots of coverage on goodies as I start getting images but for now, I wanted to share 3 items that definitely caught my eye but there was way more than just these!
We kick it off with Givenchy's Mister Lash Booster, a fortifying serum for lashed that's Day Beauty and Night Beauty. Now, we have talked a lot about lashed and making them lush and lavish by ensuring that you stay with the process so you're always carpet ready. What definitely intrigues me about this is that it is in a tube that you can squeeze out what you need and wipe off the excess from the bottle. Without it being a brush, you don't run the risk of not being able to use the product - huge point for me. I like that you can use it in the day and that it is colorless so that you can still use your mascara (although you should wait a bit as it is a bit wet and takes a little time to dry). I believe that it's best at night as you can go to sleep with it so that your lashes are ready the next day to hit the street! This is a must to check out!
Guerlain's Kiss Kiss caught me off guard just with the way the bottle is. Before you purchase your gloss of choice you see the bottle as it is above without the pop of color that peeks out; however, once used, you have the color which I think is super cute and a little added touch! Beyond this element, it contains light boosting power of mother of pearl which allows your lips to not only be glossy but have the touch of sparkle! The glosses are also enriched with a number of vitamins, smoothing properties and of course anti-aging enhancements as well!
Finally we have Acqua di Parma, there will be more info on a new product that they are coming out with that had me go back twice to smell it but for now - Magnolia Nobile. The presentation of this bottle alone was phenomenal it was etched in 24K gold, the container it came in had raw silk and satin on it and I loved hearing that it was quite a process to create this scent as Magnolia (as a general rule) is a flower that as soon as it's picked it dies and thus the scent goes with it. It was such a rich scent that it was definitely the total package! It was an amazing hour or so to interact with each of these brands and to see what would be on the market soon!

Mingling Mondays ~ Accessories Stranded on the Red Carpet?
Zoe Saldano ~ Givenchy Purple Ombre Gown
The Oscars was yet another great event but I was slightly saddened as the trend of a lack of accessories continues to prevail on the red carpet over the past few seasons. Since the economy took a turn, there seems to be a sense of the awards also taking steps back. When I view these shows, I still expect to see amazing gowns, women pushing the envelope in terms of colors, seeing fab hair, makeup and glitzy accessories. This year, I was entertained by a lot of dresses that hit the carpet but was saddened to see that many embraced safe golden hues, wore tonal dresses which washed them out and yet again, it seems that the accessories were either an after thought or not present at all. This trend of minimal accessories is not one that should continue to emerge season after season.
When it came to outfits that I loved there were those that hit the top of my list such as Elizabeth Banks in Versace (although I felt the dress was gorgeous but the color washed her out slightly, Mariska Hargitay in Vera Wang (she had classic accessories but more than most), Zoe Kravits in Alexis Mabille and Rachel McAdams in Ellie Saab.
This season, it seems that only one dress left me wondering how it could have been considered for this actress. I think it's a combination of the elements of the dress along with the lack of presence of Miley Cyrus in Jenny Packham. We have all worn things that others look at it and know its not for them, but the presence we have in the dress makes people think of it differently. Last night, she didn't seem comfortable in this dress and it read badly. Her makeup was amazing but below her neck, it wasn't inspiring.
Zoe Saldano appearing in Givenchy last night and I'm torn on this dress. When I saw it on the Red Carpet, I saw it from the bust up and instantly fell in love with it; however, when she appeared as a presenter, I had no idea that the bottom had so much color and ruffles. I was torn between loving and hating it but she walked with such purpose that I started thinking about the dress more than many others that I saw in their entirety. I'm not sure if it was the best dress but it was the most memorable (although Rachel McAdams is a very close second choice). My only complaint is that Zoe had a gorgeous ring and earrings but I would have loved seeing an amazing cuff or at least an awesome clutch (not matching as many of those who hit the carpet went that route). Awards Season is about the glitz and glam and although it's great that not too many people had choices that were less than thrilling, it's also important to embrace color and all the glamor possible. If I had worn this dress, it would have been with a neutral shoe as I'm not a fan of her shoe in terms of color and I would have worn this ring pictured above. Although this dress is elegant it has a bit of an unleashed element to it. For all the stylists out there, I know you spend time putting the look together and understated elegance is important; however, the lack of accessories make the look slightly naked and for those of us that obsess over accessories, we hope to see more in future seasons.

Mingling Mondays ~ In The Thick of the Season
OMG let's get it on! We're in the heart of the holiday season from now through Jan 15th, you'll be going to lots of parties and also having various unexpected gatherings as well. All the dresses that you never think about wearing get a chance to come out of the closet (or you'll do some splurge shopping to get them). Today is the day where a lot of your shopping purchases online need to be done today so that you're guaranteed delivery by Christmas Eve. Whether you're opening packages then or sometime in the new year, make sure you have items to bring with you whether it's wine or other nibbles. Check out Crumbs Bakery which has a lot of bakeries in NYC but can also be shipped around the country! Whether you get a classic cupcake or you get one of my favorites (love the Snickers one), this is always something that is welcome within any event!
Now when it comes to how you'll look, the holiday is all about going bold! Make sure that you have an eye catching dress and when the print is bold, focus on key accessories! I love this two tone cuff that is definitely a conversation piece on your wrist and will be amazing regardless of the season that it's worn in. Then pair it with a sexy heel to complete the look! Whether this is for a holiday party or something for a gala, this is a must!
