Fashionable Fridays ~ Outfit Your Workout

Part of doing anything is getting the right mindset and if you're thinking of tackling your workout, then you should outfit yourself for sure! I have come across some phenomenal items to add to your look! I'm a huge fan of mixing it up whether it's a jog in the park, Exhale Spa's Cardio Core Fusion, yoga and more. When I just hit a few of my favorites in the gym, I love rocking a pair of shorts such as these by Adidas as well as giving love to my alma mata, Indiana University with this Victoria's Secret Pink athletic tee! To ensure the perfect messy bun, I love these Jilly Bands which allows your hair to be pulled back without having undue stress put on it (and I love the range of colors - a must in my beauty pack no matter what). Keep time with 180Limited which is a fab rubber watch which comes in a square and circle face option. I'm all about drinking water and love this glass bottle from bkr which not onl y has a silicone sleeve (once again choose your colors) but also has a cap where the handle is slightly tilted which is easier to hold in your hand as it fits in the curve of your hand.

Finally, it's all about the shoes and ensuring that they're not even good for your feet but that of course they look amazing with your look. I've been wearing these Therafit Shoe sneakers since my press trip in Jamaica! I love how it supports my arches and allows me to have cushioned layers. Dr. Lisa Masterson, who appears on The Doctor's created this shoe to empower women not only in the gym but throughout their lifestyle. There are so many hues that are available that we're excited to give you the opportunity to win a pair. Tweet @TherafitShoe and @KittenLounge how you will be healthier in 2013 with the hashtag #lifestyle2013 and we will select 1 winner on New Year's Eve.

Fashionable Fridays ~ Winter Lounge

So to start us off, I'm loving American Eagle's vintage collegiate tanks and hope that they will add my alma mater, Indiana University! With that said, there are times when I pull a couple of days at the Kitten Lounge Loft where it's all about work and getting things pumped out. I know that messengers will still come by, people will drop by just because and more. So when it's time to lounge, I still do it fabulously. I'm all about being cozy so I suggest rocking J Jones velour pants! This is the best way to glide around the loft and take care of items while being comfortable. Rock this fabulous Oscar de la Renta charm necklace which has amazing charms and I love the bronzed effect. Slip on this black and diamond sterling silver ring which is decadence for your finger. Finally stack it up (as I am a huge fan of this) with Chan Luu and Linea Pelle for a little rocker chic. Add a bit of relaxation to the overall loo k(it is Friday after all) with a fab pair of slip on Converse sneakers which makes things effortless when you have to pop on a pair of shoes. Together, office hours will go phenomenally fast!

Wearable Wednesdays ~ His Style - March Madness

I love this time of year and although my alma mater may not be in (Indiana University) the big dance, it's still fun to talk, watch and eat during all of the phenomenal games that are at our disposable. Although we're no longer in college, we can still dress relaxed without looking like you came out of the dorm. Unless you're leaving straight from work, his style looks best when it's casual but still leaves options of what to do after the game is over! I'm loving the mix of Converse and Seersucker which is such a fab look and yet is super easy!

Mingling Mondays ~ Introducing Kitten Lounge U.

I graduated from Indiana University 8 years ago - it seems like forever ago but it's times when people ask what I do or try to guess my age (31 in 2 weeks) that they ask if I went to school to do what I do now. Although one of my majors was Telecommunications with a focus in New Media (social media), I didn't do anything in fashion but I grew up in this environment and always had my own sense of style. In fact, my way of dressing in college set up the way that I enjoy dressing now - casual, comfortable and well versed pieces that can go from a variety of situations with dynamic accessories. I came into my own sense of style when I was finally able to buy my own clothes, figure out the jeans that worked best for me (I never really wore jeans until then), my hemlines came up etc. I learned to incorporate many of the classic components of my style via my mom, into my look. So what you see today is a mix of what I grew up with (love of plaid, certain preppy elements, blazers, etc), with my love of casual and easy and once I got to NYC - adding the glam factor to create my nuvo glam look. Of course I enjoyed some items of collegiate fashion that sometimes are best left for campus (never wore my jammies to class but I had oversized sweatshirts that I wore during finals).

I am introducing a segment that is incorporated into our Monday posts on Kitten Lounge called, Kitten U. These are styles that are perfect to wear on campus when you're heading to class and yet - you can go out with friends, have items when your parents visit or wherever you happen to go. The beauty of this feature is that we're also going to highlight great style that's around campuses around the country. The fashions that are presented here are also fab for those that are not on college so you can get in on the fun too! For our college girls we're looking forward to seeing what style you and your friends are rocking so feel free to send pics as we will have a fun giveaway just in time for Fashion Week where we will giveaway fun key looks for the fall. The giveaways that are associated with Kitten U are for our campus readers.

Today's look incorporates the sweatshirt updated in a new way! I'm obsessed with this sweatshirt as it has a great fit (happened to see this in Bebe and couldn't believe how cute it was) but on the back it has the slashed effect that is sexy and casual. This can be paired with jeans, leggings, cute shorts etc. It's fun to grab food across the quad and also to go out in as well. Simply get a great charm necklace, cuff and a pair of booties (great year around) and you're ready to go. This is such a great versatile top that you'll gravitate to. if you feel that you're back is too exposed, you can put a tank under it.

To kick off these posts, we have a few fab beauty Care Packages to giveaway (thanks to Dove, Lush and a super cute chemise from Josie by Natori and more). All you need to do is to Like us on Kitten Lounge on Facebook and let us know what year and school you're going to on our Facebook Page!! This kicks off today and will run through labor day weekend! Keep checking our Fan Page as we will let you know about our clothing giveaway that is coming up in a few days! Follow the #KL31BdayStar picks for our essentials for fall and what's on my birthday list!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ View Games Fashionably

Being from the Midwest I love sports in general (boxing, football, baseball and soccer - in that order). There's something about going to a game, I love people watching, the game and everything tastes better. I probably like baseball stadiums more as the weather is much more conducive and having 2 teams with new stadiums is an added bonus. I've been a Yankee fan ever since I could remember but I also go to Mets games too and anytime it's game day and I'm heading to the stadium, you have to support your team (this is a rule that plays well regardless of the season)! The best collection hands down is Victoria's Secret Pink team shirts where I never have to wonder what cute Yankess, Mets OR Indiana University shirt is available so that I'm dressed for the occassion. Beyond supporting my team, I still need to look cute! This means that I definitely have to rock my accessories. What better way them to pair a tee with a cute pair of shorts and a nice bag to quickly drop everything in there and what can be better than a cute Tory Burch bag! Finally, it's all about the shoes!

Last week, I had the opportunity to go to the Nexus Project Party (such a fun night at Hudson Terrace_ with Sebago Shoes and VANE via their collaboration. I love that they worked with a number of bloggers on creating shoes in their voice and bringing the classic boat shoe to another level. I haven't worn a boat shoe since I could remember but after visiting the site I realized that they have some cute shoes and I have a pair coming my way which I will rock in Miami! In addition, living on a beach, heading out to the Hamptons and more - this shoe is a must in my wardrobe! Check out some fab shoes on Sebago's site and think of ways that you can support your team and yet look super cute for all the pics you'll be taking and posting!

Sippin Saturdays ~ Josh Cocktail Continues To Woo Us

For my avid fans of Kitten Lounge, you know that I love music and being the great niece to Joe Henderson, I love anytime music is involved and want to share it with my readers. About a year ago, I introduced you to Josh Cocktail who is not only a PHENOM singer BUT he has done amazing covers of many songs that we have all enjoyed listening to. When I realized that he was performing at my Alma Mata (Indiana University) during Little 5, I knew that he was definitely someone who we would all know on the music scene. Now based on some very good intel, I hear that he is an amazing songwriter and all the acoustic soulful sounds you hear from his covers you enjoy even more when it comes to his work! I can't wait to see how his journey will evolve as a performer and Kitten Lounge is the first to say that one day you will hear this guy and be grabbing his pictures begging for an autograph but you definitely heard it hear first. For now, check out this video that includes a cover of a song done by Drake and Jamie Foxx. We have also been given some exclusive access to show his original works so stay tuned to hear more from this amazing singer/songwriter! Also check out Josh's You Tube channel!

Trendy Tuesdays ~ Get in Gear

Yesterday I hit the gym after taking a bit of a break. I always exercise but I wanted to focus on strength training and more. With that in mind, I'm a big believer in dressing for the part! With that said, I love Victoria's Secret Pink, I work out in it, lounge and travel in it! One of the best collaborations that VS Pink could have done is create lines of clothing from universities! I love wearing my Alma Mata, Indiana University and having a little bling with yoga pants is perfect! The fact that it's grey is also a huge bonus and of course, I love pairing it with a simple tank top.

Finish this look off with Stella McCartney - I love her collaboration with Adidas the sneakers are cute and have a very fashionable flair and I love the bag which can hold everything that you feel you need!

Sippin Saturdays: Josh Cocktail & Danny Schwartz

So this weekend is a collegiate mamoth of activities! Little 500, which takes place at Indiana University (my university), is known as a good time which includes a bike race, tons of parties and great music! Since graduating, I try to go to as many of the Little 500's as I can and although today's weather in NYC is amazing, I am bummed not to be back in Bloomington for many reasons! One of them being the band that will be playing there this weekend (it may be tonight or it could have happened last night). Every Little 500 weekend, there is a huge act that plays. This year it's Soulja Boy and of course, someone opens the show! Via an insider at one of my favorite PR firms in the city (that I'm fortunate to not only work with but enjoy building a great friendship), she told me about Josh Cocktail and Danny Schwartz - who will be opening during this year's concert which is unofficially known as Rap n Roll! So today I am letting you guys know about this amazing group and I am sending them virtual love and kudos as they are truly amazing!!! I know that this song is untitled although they shoudl call it "Another Show" - can I just say that I have played this 20 this morning and the song is stuck in my head?

Mingling Mondays ~ The Sports Hang Out Spot

Blondies I went to Indiana University and I loved Sports - the bar. I loved that we would watch our games there and all of us had the best time. I definitely had my favorites in terms of drinks, snacks and more. Everytime I came by, the night was destined to be good and you were surrounded by other enthusiastic fans! Coming to NYC, I wondered where the best sports bars were and what ones were favorable to my Alma Mata. Blondies on the UES became one of my favorite places after the first time that I went. The "It Factor" came due to multiple TV screens, a great crowd and the wings. I love a place that has a variety of heat and for those that may be a bit shy - they have other options as well. Blondies is a great place to hang out as college basketball looms and if you're in the neighborhood, it's worth staking out your spot. In addition, they are super fast in terms of delivery - they totally hooked up two hungry wing lovers this past weekend who refused to brave the cold. Visit the site and then make your way there!

Blondies Sports on the UES (although they have another on the UWS as well)
