Mingling Mondays ~ Meet Holly Bernesser (Beauty Bank & Flirt It Girl)

She stays connected with her Blackberrys - one for work and one for personal!
TV addicts who are always out can depend on their DVRs to keep them connected! Holly's guilty pleasure is a show her mom tuned her into - Criminal Minds (my mom loves this too) she loves the suspense and since she's catching up on 6 seasons she watches it 3 - 4 times a week at her leisure!
But when it's about being back in NYC, her recent obsession is Osteria Morini's Gramigna pasta dish which she has been dreaming about!
Your fave meal is affected by zipcode! Holly has been going to Bridgehampton with her boyfriend and his family for the past few summers and adores Trata's Octopus Salad.
Not only is Holly Bernesser, Manager of Global Communications at Beauty Bank but she is also the fab Flirt It Girl that chats with us via videos!

Holly Bernesser is a busy girl! Not only is she Manager of Global Communications for Beauty Bank (which is apart of Estee Lauder) but she can also be seen talking about Flirt Cosmetics on their fun videos for Flirt It Girl on YouTube! She lets us know about new items that are popping up within the brand and I had the pleasure of joining her in a Spring Accessorizing video earlier this year! With all that work, she's always being taped, traveling and much more! Above you'll find out about her fave places to eat, her guilty pleasures as well as how she stays connected!

In addition to the above, I loved hearing that although her Nook is also one of her favorite tech toys that keep her connected for personal travel, it also has internet access as well (news to me). When it comes to app this tweet-a-holic loves using Twitter which is an essential wherever you are. There's tech style and personal style - I have always loved the way Holly is so put together and that's probably because she rocks Boho Chic so well which is something that I love as well! She's obsessed with all things 70s inspired from drapy one shoulder silhouettes, bright colors and the gold jewelry! She also loves bold lipstick – orange, pink, even purple! My two must-haves from FLIRT! right now are Chickstick Smooth & Shiny Lipcolor in Sangria (bright pink) and Energy (orange-coral). These are definitely on trend this season and she wears it well.

Our busy jetsetter seems to be on my page when it comes to some vacation spots - whenever there is a spare moment. She's wanted to get to the Greek isles for some time and would love to visit Brazil. Actually, anywhere with a beach sounds good to her right about now! Somehow this sentiment has been echoed by a number of those that have been within our Mingling Mondays posts so she is not alone!

Having two distinct roles as someone who is involved in Global Communications with Beauty Bank and as someone who brings the Flirt It Girl to live and interacts with so many personalities via videos and tracels, I wanted to know what she has learned from being on the segments that gives us insight into the brand. "I’ve learned tons of great makeup tips and tricks. I’m constantly inspired by the looks our product development team develops for the brand – and I’ve even been introduced to new shades in the line I haven’t personally tried through the tutorials we produce, if you can believe it. With over 250 shades in our line, there is always something new to try, or a new look to create and it’s just so much fun for me!" She definitely has a lot of energy and makes it all seem exciting and fun. With the brand's recent inclusion within the 2011 Billboard Awards Gifting Suite in Las Vegas this past weekend, it's just another example of the hectic but colorful life that Holly leads! We're also loving that for every celeb that snags a bag, due to Flirt's partnership with Prom Fairy, will allow the brand to donate a gift to the fund so that girls will look fabulous as they head out for their big moment! But I love that as much as she learns a lot from the brand she explains that she has "really enjoyed getting to interview some of my favorite experts from the world of beauty and style – like our Celebrity Style Ambassador, Heather Morris of Glee and some of my favorite bloggers and style experts like Jeannine Morris (Beauty Sweet Spot) and Kimmie Smith (so sweet) of course!

The most essential part is how she keeps it flirty as she is definitely a fab expert in this! Holly says, "I think it all comes down to confidence. If you feel good about yourself your true personality will shine through. And of course, a good mascara never hurts!" Truer words have never been spoken and I definitely agree that the eyes are definitely a way to bring in flirty action!

If you enjoyed learning about Flirt It Girl's Holly, check out last week's Aiisha Ramadan of Aiisha Ramadan Couture.

Sippin Saturdays ~ Loving AhaLife's Fab Choice Today

Now right before Fashion Week, I let you know about AhaLife but as a refresher, it's a fun site that presents a new find each day that is only available on their site for 24 hours, These items are found by Curators (including such people as Tim Gunn, Diane Von Furstenberg and moi!) that work within various industries! I obviously cover accessories so when there is something that I have curate, I will let you know! In addition, I also shared the fab party that took place with AhaLife which was amazing as it was a way to see the various people that are apart of their community! I loved bringing Jeannine Morris personality and Editor in Chief of Beauty Sweet Spot, with me who is always my partner in crime but definitely one that I worked alongside with during NY Fashion Week.

Today, they showcase a product that I'm super excited about -- the Marchesa MiniAudiere Clutch which sold out last year and is back again! Now I'm not going to go into detail about this as you need to check out the site to read all the details! But what I can say is that I had the pleasure of holding this when I was chatting with the AhaLife team and I fell in love! What's not to love? I love that this bag is crystal embroidered and is done by hand (no two are the same) - but this year the bag is on another level as there is a quartz stone on the top of the clutch and of course it has the gorgeous diamond rings around it as well! This is so glam that I paused when I held it in my hands. I'm glad that Tabitha Simmons, fellow Curator and Vogue Stylist and footwear designer will go into more detail about this bag!

If you want a daily email about one new product featured each day, then you should definitely sign up as I have an invitation link that you can use for a limited time. Join the community and check out items that will be on your must get list.

Fashionable Fridays: Day 8 Spring 2011 ~ Jeannine Morris & I Talk Fashion Week at Robert Verdi Luxury Sweet with Acuvue

Fashion week has so many levels but it's not all just shows - it's about friendships, enjoying being around one another and learning about new brands. Jeannine Morris (Beauty Sweet Spot) and I hung out at Robert Verdi's Luxe Lab! This is a phenomenal space where I have enjoyed going to a number of events but this was my first one that was hosted by the man himself Robert Verdi! While there, there were quite a bit of brands that gifted us as editors. We took a moment from all the fun madness to sit down and to share our thoughts on what we loved about Fashion Week, our fave shows, our style and basically allowing others to see Fashion Week through our eyes courtesy of Acuvue! Check us out and hear our thoughts and thanks to all the fun brands that we hung out with - Tulle, Red Light PR, N'Espresso, Lippe Taylor, Blue Print Cleanse, Linea Pelle and so much more!

Trendy Thursdays: Day 7 Spring 2011 ~ AhaLife Fashion Week Party

Fashion Week is about more than just shows and presentations it's all about the parties! I was so happy to head out to the AhaLife party at their super chic loft space downtown! Now you know that I had shared some information about AhaLife on my post (you can also sign up to get your inside track info on fab finds) from earlier this Fashion Week but it was fun to be a in a room of so many influencers from various backgrounds! As a Curator (I will contribute fab items within an accessories category), it was great to be introduced to a number of people and to reconnect with friends. The top photo is myself and Shauna Mei (founder of AhaLife and I have enjoyed seeing her sit front row at a number of shows during Fashion Week). The second one is myself with Dana (in the middle - fab makeup artist) and my friend, Jeannine Morris, Editor in Chief and personality of Beauty Sweet Spot. Love these images and want to see a lot more, then you have to check out the link to see the entire event in images!

Fashionable Fridays: Day 1 Spring 2011 ~ Kimmie's LOTD

I'm always asked about what I wear when I'm at the shows and each season it changes. I remember for Sept 2008, my New York Fashion Week was all about looking super glam and I actually wore Lauren Conrad's first line and it was heels everyday. Ah back when I was a Fashion Week newbie. This season I'm attending a lot of shows but I am also doing backstage coverage as well. So I still need to look fab but I never know what show I'm adding to my schedule and I will be in some tight spots so it needs to make sense. Each day I will give you my Look of the Day and let you know where I was. Above I'm with Jeannine Morris of Beauty Sweet Spot and Michelle Kelerakos of 5WPR at Milk Studios backstage at the Vena Cava show which had makeup by MAC and hair done by none other than Ted Gibson (see the post about it from earlier today). Also thank you to everyone who saw me in Betty Confidential's Bloggers We Love! I am honored that they love me and you can find out more about me as well as fab items for Fall by checking it out here! In addition find out how you can win the looks from APART that you see me talking about.

With fall setting in, I want something that is a bit warm but I can also move in. Like many covering the shows, the new layout and larger areas to travel was a new thing for me so I opted to wear this oversized Vince shirt (super soft and comfy), with skinny jeans and a super cute pair of cowboyesque boots from Spring Shoes that I got at their launch a few days ago. This look was fab, chic and simple AND my Vince shirt was from TJ Maxx! After the Boston trip that I took on where we learned about the brand, I took a trip to their store in the Columbus area and picked out pieces that I could work back into things that I have. I received so many compliments and layered it with my accessories from Pade Vavra, Ted Rossi and Coach (the necklace) and I threw on a bag from the Magnes Sisters to complete the look. I have to say that it is becoming a place that I do love to at least take a peek into to see the brands that they have! Thank you to TJ Maxx and throughout this week you'll see some finds that my team came up with when we stocked up on our looks for the shows!

Fashionable Fridays: Day 1 Spring 2011 ~ Backstage at Vena Cava With Ted Gibson

Yesterday was a first for me as I headed over to Milk Studios (as a note all coverage will have a day delay so on Day 2, you will see Day 1, etc). Although it's not at Lincoln Center and is in the Meat Packing District, I have to say that I loved being backstage, being able to work online with no issues and there is a calm at this venue in a time where everything is chaotic. I headed to Vena Cava's backstage where I was able to see Ted Gibson at work doing what he does best - hair! Here you will see him working on the bun that I think everyone will be rocking from day to night! I was also able to hang out with Jeannine Morrris of Beauty Sweet Spot so you will see her in the video as well. I have met Ted a few times but this is the first time that I have seen him work. Going from one head to the next and seeing how he communicates with hair was amazing! Enjoy the clip and seeing what it's like to be backstage!

Trendy Thursdays: Transitionally Fit ~ Deadline Fitness With Gina Lombardi

I'm not going to lie - as you read this, I'm lacing up my sneakers and getting ready to workout with Gina Lombardi of Deadline Fitness, Celebrity Trainer. Schick put together an amazing trip where select bloggers were flown down to South Beach to show off our fitness and of course how we stay smooth all summer long. Now I know that I have been exercising for the past month with this regimen but it's different when the person who created it is actually looking at you! Yesterday was an early start time and I always feel hectic when I'm traveling but I was ready when the car picked me up as I headed to LaGuardia Airport! Meeting the girls was definitely going to be fun and I was even more excited that I would be traveling with Aly Walansky of She Knows and Jeannine Morris of Beauty Sweet Spot! When we arrived we were greeted with a fab lunch and the Delano is as gorgeous as the pictures suggest. We got in some beach time, more drinks and of course we had a fab dinner at D Rodriguez Cuba at The Astor Hotel. Some of us continued on the fun of the night but in moderation of course ;).

But today we do the workout full on and Gina is leading us. I have enjoyed getting feedback from Gina throughout this process via Facebook whether she is encouraging me to press on with my workout or whether she's reminding me of how much sugar is in Jamba (it was only once I swear and I can say that I won't have to be reminded of how thirsty they make you after you drink them), chiding me on Bee Desserts (but they are natural and so good) or happy that I enjoyed some bevvies but once again in moderation! I have to say that since she is in LA and I'm here in NYC, she definitely cares about her clients and wants the best for them and definitely helps you in making good choices. Seeing that she is not even my trainer, I can appreciate that she kicks butt at what she does! To see her in person, I'm thinking she's 300% energy so I know that this will be good! But after the workout will be breakfast, massages and so much more. It's so funny that I rarely eat breakfast except when I travel or if there is a morning appointment that incorporates it! So I'll fill you in on the scoop when I return and let you know how it went!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Meet Jane Iredale

Earlier this week I found myself heading to the Upper East Side to Serafina, almost feeling like one of the fab 4 from Sex and the City, I was on the way to a private dining room to hear from the creator of Jane Iredale, who just so happens to be the lady herself (love when the name of the brand is actually the person) and Dr Katz, a respected dermatologist. This line was the first one that was mineral based and had components that were good for your skin! As many of us celebrated the Summer Solstice (the official kick off to the summer), diners downstairs received full samples of her Jane Iredale Powder Me Up SPF. I love that it comes in a tan tone and a translucent so for those that you're not only protected from the sun but you can apply the tan version as a means to have a little bronze effect. In addition, we were walked through the entire collection such as the Lip Drink which is a lip balm with SPF that as mentioned by Jeannine Morris of Beauty Sweet Spot, it smelled like lemonade! With all the different eyeshadow hues that I finally saw up close, I was very impressed with the varying hues of the foundation! Being someone who is a medium shade, I find that there is a scarcity of hues but Jane Iredale has you covered and there is SPF in this as well!

What I really took away from Jane who is standing up talking with about 20 or so bloggers (loved chatting with Aly Walansky and Kristin Booker who I saw throughout the week and will be included in another post for today), is when I was able to have some one on one time with her! She used to work in entertainment as a casting director in theater and lived here in the city for a number of years. In the day she worked to put this fabulous line together as she came here from England not knowing anyone, having 40 pounds in her pocket and two watches that she wanted to sell when she got here! At night she did her job in the theaters. Here in NYC or anywhere really, we're all multitasking doing what we have to do to make things work while squeezing as much time as possible for our passion. She's definitely someone who finally got to focus on her passion and do that full time! With a passion for the line, as well as updating her blog (she has own blog that she updates as well as one that is about makeup in general), she was very down to earth and it's an amazing way to spend the day!

I also have to say that I have eaten at Serafina on the west side but love the one on the East just as much! Any lunch that is Prosecco filled, has a gorgeous walnut salad and is then followed by a chicken and mashed potato combo that was scrumptious and ends with a berry tart that was the best one I have ever had is definitely a meal worth repeating! I also have to say that I was super pleased to see a Eugenia Kim straw hat in my goodie bag! Beyond thrilled especially since I had planned on going to the sample sale they were running but have been unable due to the hectic schedule this week!

Fashionable Fridays ~ Walk on Water Complete Coverage

We will be updating this section as more pictures come in but until then, I'm ending the week with the way I kicked it off! This past Mon, Walk on Water Fashion Show sponsored by Forever 21 and Smashbox Cosmetics hit the runway at the Frying Pan (which apparently is a dog friendly space according to a reporter from the Examiner) as I co-hosted this along with Jeannine Morris of Beauty Sweet Spot and Celebrity Stylist, Lauren Rae Levy. Having a runway show as the sunsets with video and of course a breakout of four vignettes on a night that's not too hot. For those who were unable to come, Forever 21 streamed the show live so that everyone had the chance to enjoy this amazing show that took place with the Hudson as the backdrop.

As people came in droves to the show walking the bbridge to get there, we had our step and repeat with a number of our sponsors including APART (which dressed Jeannine and I), Forever 21 and many more! Then people began filling up the boat. We were definitely at or over capacity as many people were turned away (including some of our VIPs but this was one event where being fashionably late. There had to be over 500 people in attendance but many included Jaimie Hilfiger, Richie Rich, Kwame Jackson (from Apprentice) and various socialites. Of course it was awesome to see many people that I have the pleasure of working with including Kitty Bradshaw, Charu Suri, Aly Walansky and PR firms (big shout out to LippeTaylor) that I deal with daily as well.

I could go on and on about the event and there are videos with the show which will make their way here; however, I am so appreciative of those that came, the girls who walked the show and brought my vision of the choreography into reality and of course the team that it took to put it all together! It's an amazing experience and although there are events that are coming up over the next few weeks, I learned so much with this one. It's yet another great experience that I can add to Kitten Lounge's list and another reason why this site's birthday celebration in October will be phenomenal! It's been an amazing almost 3 years!

Love the pics? Want to see more, they continue to be added right here.

Wearble Wednesdays ~ Walk on Water Continues With APART

After an event, I love reading about the press mentions and they're definitely continuing to come in so this Fri, I can't wait to share with you the event in total. Stay tuned tomorrow to find about the Hair and Makeup for the show as well as it is a beauty day after all! Jeannine of Beauty Sweet Spot and I were dressed by APART for our dresses which look amazing! We were also accessorized by Ted Rossi for our bangles and Vince Camuto for our shoes! Our role was to host the show and for those that saw the show as it was also streamed live, I also worked on the format of creating the vignettes which broke out into 4 fun themes (Fitness, Beach, Flirty and Sophisticated - the music choice I'm happy to say was perfect for each one and the girls were amazing and had a great time at this packed show). We hit the runway at the end of the night to close the show. Even though it took months to plan, the Walk on Water Fashion Show Presented by Forever 21 x Smashbox Cosmetics and To Be a Star was a huge success! Right after leaving the stage I was interviewed by various outlets which I will continue to share (in the audience we had people from Fox News, Us Weekly, Getty Images and so much more - recap on Fri)!

In addition the fun doesn't stop here! If you have yet to get your ticket to Girls Who Rock which happens tomorrow night, then this is a must! As media sponsors for this event, we're so pleased that the money raised goes to assist girls in Africa to have the opportunity to go to school so that they can enjoy the benefits that many of us take for granted. This Benefit Concert has amazing artists performing including Shontelle who you have seen me interview this time last year on the site! Find out more by visiting Girls Who Rock!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Walk on Water Fashion Show Was a Hit

The dust is starting to settle from last night's event, Walk on Water Fashion Show sponsored by Forever 21! A full recap will be on Friday but expect daily peeks about this event. With pictures still coming in, I can say that we had a number of media outlets, celebs (Jaime Hilfiger and Richie Rich of Heatherette) and the event was at full capacity. My cohosts Jeannine Morris of Beauty Sweet Spot and Lauren Rae Levy, Celebrity Stylist looked phenomenal and this is just one of the many images that took place as the girls rocked it at the Frying Pan on the Hudson River!

Sippin Saturdays ~ Walk on Water

The past couple of weeks I have been in Walk on Water mode. No it's not me thinking that I can truly achieve an amazing feat but it is an amazing show that I am cohosting with Jeannine Morris of Beauty Sweet Spot and Celebrity Stylist, Lauren Rae Levy as well as Hair and Makeup being done by the Michele Bell Team. Interestingly enough, I was apart of a reality show last year for To Be a Star which followed 6 aspiring models on their journey into learning what it took to be in this industry. I appeared as a Style Mentor for an episode and I introduced them to various brands such as Forever 21, Ted Rossi, etc. It was an amazing day - now fast forward to this spring. I got a call that Forever 21 was not only launching their new Times Square store but that they were going to partner with To Be a Star and do a runway show at the Frying Pan (26th and 12th Ave) and they asked for me to come back. Jeannine also came on my episode so she was coming too!

If you haven't RSVP'd then there is still some space and you should. If you can't make it, there will be live streaming and of course I will be providing info throughout the day. We have phenomenal sponsors that are apart of this (Smashbox Cosmetics, Purple Lab, and much more), celebs and press. It's bound to be an amazing night and since this is an outdoor space, who wouldn't want to walk with NYC as their backdrop? Check out the Event Page for this event and I can't wait to see you there!

Fashionable Fridays ~ Walk on Water Runway Show

On June 7th at 7:00pm the Walk on Water Runway Show sponsored by Forever 21 and Smashbox Cosmetics will hit The Frying Pan to kick off Forever 21's Times Square opening! In addition, this event is also apart of a much larger one for To Be a Star. To Be a Star is a reality show that looked at what it takes to become a model and it showed 6 aspiring girls going through the process. I appeared in an episode as a Style Mentor sharing what the girls could do to create their own signature look as well as to find a way to wear the same outfit from castings, meetings and a night out so that it worked for all the events that they would go to on days where changing was impossible. I enjoyed working with the girls and being able to come back and to co-host the show along with Jeannine Morris of Beauty Sweet Spot is amazing!

This fashion show was designed to really show how widespread the Forever 21 look is and so there are 4 themes - Fitness, Beach, Flirty and Sophisticated. Now I didn't want to give away some of the Forever 21 looks that the girls will be wearing for the show as our team has worked hard on getting this but APART is dressing Jeannine and I so I wanted to give you a hint of the themes in this way! In addition, if you have been following along with Kitten Lounge's Facebook page you'd know that the Sheer Mini Dress as well as the Spring Babydoll are both possible looks that I may be wearing. Vote to see which look I will end up wearing that night! With confirmed celebs, press and a mixer afterwards, those who are in NYC and would like to attend should RSVP as there are limited seats left!

Love the looks above and want to know more? Make sure that you visit APART and if you end up shopping, use KittenJune to receive 10% off this month!

Fashionable Fridays ~ Style Experts: Mom's Beauty Advice

If you're on Twitter you know that Friday means #FF. It's the time when people let you know who they follow so that you can follow them. I love it and I like that people include me in their lists whether they're focusing on Style, Women in Digital, etc. In that vein, each Fri I will have a roundup of Style Experts that you should check out their site and they will have their Twitter handle as well (@cocoabebe). This way you can add to your list and read their comments on a certain topic.

With Mother's Day being this Sunday and with Real Beauty having an amazing post about "Beauty Advice From Our Mom's", I had to find out from my circle of experts what their Mom's taught them that they still use today! We know that Mom's never stop commenting but there are times that they share something that actually works. For me, my mom always talked about the importance of good skincare and moisturizing my skin. She taught me the way to wash my face so I wouldn't have wrinkles and she introduced me to Palmer's Cocoa Butter which I always have the largest container possible. Below, our Style Experts give us some intel on Mom's advice that continues to work through the ages and continues the conversation from Real Beauty's article..

Karen Robinovitz, TV Personality & Creatrix of Purple Lab ~ "Feel good inside and it will show outside. " ~ @purplelabnyc

Virginia Nam, Editor in Chief of Lovely 20's ~ "Less is More." ~ @virginianam

Adina Zilberman, Editor in Chief of Krasey Beauty ~ "My mom taught me that no matter what, it is always important to have manicured hands. I go for mine weekly." ~ @kraseybeauty

Risi-Leanne Baranja, Editor in Chief of Palacinka Beauty ~ " For me the beauty secret my mom told me about that I still love is fresh cucumber mask 1x-2x wk in the summer!" ~ @palacinkabeauty

Jeannine Morris, TV Personality & Editor in Chief of Beauty Sweet Spot ~ "When I was young my mom always made sure I washed my face before bed and as I grew up it was about taking off my makeup before bed. Of course I still do that today, and now she lectures me about safe sun.” ~ @beautysweetspot

Michelle Rakos, Account Exec at 5WPR ~ She always said, "it's not what you wear it's how you wear it." and for beauty, "to keep it simple to show off your true self." ~ @MichelleRakos

Trendy Thursdays ~ Dickinson's Essential

The week before last, I was invited to Dickinson's suite at MSG to watch the BNP Paribas Showdown that included one of the William's sister's playing in the tournament. What a great way to watch tennis from the comfort of being indoors and in a full stocked suite. As much as I loved the game, it was great to mingle with various beauty bloggers such as Jeannine Morris of Beauty Sweet Spot. I find that sometimes the events are one of the best ways to keep in touch with everyone to find out what they are up to and to make plans later on whether it's to get coffee, grab drinks or to get something to eat.

.

Although I was much later than I wanted to be, I was so happy to have the chance to speak with Katya Meyers about her work with the Women's Sport Foundation and the Tone Up Challenge. Billy Jean King started the Women's Sport Foundation which really looks to creating positive reinforcing of women's health and beauty. It's nice to have the opportunity to hear initiatives that support women to have a great beauty regimen and to be healthy as opposed to those that speak to being a certain size which creates a sense of overwhelming emotions. Talking with Katya, I learned that she would be on a morning show the next day to talk about The Tone Up Challenge - exercising to be fit.

I was also able to talk with the Creative Director of Dickinson. This company has been in existence since the 1800's, is family owned and survives based on the word of mouth! Sad to say, I had only become aware of the products a week in advance; however, I was pleased to see that they used Witch Hazel which is an element that is extremely beneficial to the skin as it fights acne, blemishes and other ailments that don't work for your skin. The Towelettes that we were given definitely comes in handy when I need to refresh! I can dab my face, neck and wrists and feel ready to continue visiting showrooms. I can only imagine how essential this will be when the weather gets extremely warm! Take some time to check out their full product line!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Dove Visibly Smooth Giveaway

There is something about the Oscar's that make it my favorite award show to watch - the clothing. I actually love watching E! Red Carpet more than the actual show. Each season I look at all the accessories that hit the carpet, dresses that I saw earlier during Fashion Weeks and more. This year, I was invited to the Dove Red Carpet VIP viewing party hosted by my friend, Jeannine Morris of Beauty Sweet Spot. Heading over, all I could think about was making sure I didn't miss the first people to hit the carpet and to get some insider carpet info as Jeannine was on the E! Red Carpet show for the Emmy's last year providing info on what the stars were wearing in terms of beauty. It was definitely fitting that she would be hosting this Dove party and I had heard a lot about Dove's Visibly Smooth.

Ever since I could remember we used Dove growing up. It's always interesting to see the products that you use as many of them are influenced by what you had at home; however, the staying power comes to see what use as you go into college and beyond. For me, I started with the classic Dove white bar. When I went to college and then came out to NYC back in 2002, I was obsessed with not only the soap (by this time I had found my preferred scent - Cucumber) but I also used the lotion, facial pads and the cream after I had washed my face. As time would have it, I actually influenced my mom to try other products within this brand when we traveled. So it wasn't hard for me to try this new product as well.

The night was definitely one filled with laughter, fashion commentary and just enjoying the overall awards. I left with my own sample and the ability to allow five of my readers the chance to get their hands on Dove Visibly Smooth Deodorant as well due to my participation in the Dove Visibly Smooth Deodorant VIP Program. Just leave a comment below about what products you used when you were at home and why you still use it now. If you don't have one then let me know a product that is apart of your beauty regimen that you would never be without. Five winners will be selected next Thurs and Dove will send you Visibly Smooth.

Sippin Saturdays ~ The Power of 2010

The past few weeks have been extremely telling for me. It has allowed me to see that one of the quotes I've always believed in "it's a small world after all" is definitely true. When I began Kitten Lounge, I knew that what I am doing now and what I will be doing in a few days was what I wanted but the journey to get there, wasn't so clear. It definitely takes a village and to work with others in order to get to wherever you're going. The more you meet, connect, understand and assist, you find that everything is a give and take and that it feels natural.

Speaking with a very good friend yesterday at breakfast, I was so excited that Jeannine Morris of Beauty Sweet Spot was heading to her spokesmodel event for Rapid Lash. Knowing her in the time period that I have, I have seen her take her passion to something that she can enjoy everyday. Popping in later in the day, I not only saw her doing what she does best but learned that Duane Reade has an amazing upstairs location on 35th and Broadway that brings in many elements that have made Sephora successful! My focus was definitely to come and support which you will see in the video above. But it was awesome that she was excited that I was going to LA and that she was as excited as if she was going herself to go to Style Network. This coming from someone who has already done the E! Red Carpet and has appeared on TV numerous times made me feel less overwhelmed about the upcoming experience

The night before, I was invited to the home of Josie Natori which I wrote about on yesterday's post. To be in the home of someone who I have admired, attended her booth at various trade shows and have always wanted her robes was an amazing thrill. I had to pinch myself that I was looking in her closet and was so thankful for friends such as Karen Robinovitz of Purple Lab that brought me into this circle.

As I think about many items coming up over the next few days, weeks and months - I am thankful. It takes amazing readers to make this site a success, I love having great friends who are out there doing great things so that I can support and participate! I also feel that there is something about this year where everyone is seconds away from truly taking off in ways that they can only dream of! Here's to continued success in 2010! If you're out and about tonight and have no clue what to do but want to hang out, I will be apart of the Bunny Bar Crawl being hosted by Maria The Date Coach with amazing beverage specials, wearing my tail and ears! They just opened it up to men as well so bring your besties, hunnie and more!

Sippin Saturdays ~ Refocus

Like many of you, I woke up this morning to finding snow on the ground and realizing that it was still falling (and hoping that it doesn't hinder my plans for an awesome Super Bowl party tomorrow). I also woke up with clarity on a number of issues that I have been grappling with and after a slightly wompy event yesterday, everything fell into place. I'm definitely in a huge period of transition right now. Those who know me know that it has been a crazy period of months and it's just about to get stepped up to an entirely different level. Obviously, announcements will be made but until then, I had to refocus and ensure that many of the core elements (you can hear more about how Kitten Lounge came to be via a recent interview) that brought me to this place, are still being met!

This journey began when I first got to NYC in 2002 and it was all about reaching out to people and keeping an open forum where I could connect with others and that is the essence of everything that I do. I love letting people know about each other and spreading the word about it. Whether you're an indie designer, artist, baker, etc - Kitten Lounge is a fab forum that brings everything together as I think that your greatness should be shared and this will continue here and on additional ventures that are coming up. My journey also began with my love for accessories and that is something that will continue to be a main stay here as many of you know I build my outfits starting here first. To that end, I woke up this morning and as I flipped through Vogue Latin America, I found my self falling in love with so many designers that I wasn't aware of so expect a focus on international labels as that is so key to me. You can also expect more coverage of international fashion shows which is something that I have covered on previous blogs but I don't necessarily always do it on here.

Also, events are key. I attend a lot and if you follow me @cocoabebe, you have been there when I'm at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, the #markgirl event with Mark Cosmetics and Lauren Conrad and much more. Kitten Lounge is also doing events and I definitely want you there to reach out to you in person! So if you're in NYC and still looking for a fashionable experience, I want to see you at the Tory Burch shopping event that I am co-hosting on Feb 25th from 6 - 8pm but you can only attend if you RSVP so get your name on the list! Of course this fall, the first Fashion Cruise - Style Pod will set sail with a little Social thrown in for good measure. Jeannine Morris of Beauty Sweet Spot, Karen Robinovitz of Purple Lab and myself will be sailing the ocean leaving from Ft Lauderdale and heading to Key West and Cozumel in Oct! You can find out more details here but with rooms getting snapped up, you'll definitely want to make sure that you have your space locked in!

Of course, if you know that you work in PR or Events and you feel the need to refresh your wardrobe with some amazing outfits, I'm organizing shopping trips at the fabulous Carlisle Collection so that you can not only get outfitted but that you get pieces altered to your specifications. Earlier this week, I posted about an outfit that I will be receiving in April and I'm beyond thrilled about how amazing my selections were. It'll be a fun time to get together so let me know if you're in NYC and would like to come out!

Oh how I love Saturdays that are filled with clarity and tea! As a final piece of info - I am in a major shoe shift. Last year I was all about Jimmy Choo (obvi I still love them) and you noticed that many outfits were paired with these shoes. I am now all about Christian Louboutin. I think it really struck home for me when I was at an event listening to a panel and saw the signature red. It was like a little light went off so you will notice that this year, I am focusing on these fab heels and when I get my first pair, of course I will have to share although I know a certain someone who will be getting hers soon and I'll have to post about that soon!

Fashionable Fridays ~ The Style Pod Sets Sail

My schedule is an interesting mix from attending my fashion, music and social media events. In addition, there are those who I hang out within and outside of these worlds or I'm always referred to someone that I must meet. Who knows when it actually happens and I find that I only see some people at set events or I'm always making promises. These events are always fun but after 3 or 4 hours it's over and I know that it'll be another Fashion Week, brunch meet up etc before I can hang out again!

It was over Christmas that I began creating Style Pod. I loved the idea of those in fashion, beauty and social media coming together. I'm not going to lie, it was the success of Jason Keath's Social Fresh Cruise where attendees cruised while they attended seminars to discuss social media and social good! I love that he's doing his second annual trip and I do plan on attending! That being said, I wanted to do the same thing for our industry during October! Bringing together those who are bloggers, stylists or anyone that has an interest in beauty, fashion and social media was key! In addition, we will also have a few seminars that look at how social is used within this area! I knew that I wanted to bring in Jeannine Morris of Beauty Sweet Spot who shares her passion for beauty online and is also a personality on CBS and was on E's Red Carpet show at the Emmys! Karen Robinovitz was also someone that I knew had to be apart of this Style Pod! As the Creatrix of Purple Lab NYC, Karen is a fabulous mentor in showing how to launch a cosmetic brand; moreover, launching it online! Together we will present interesting seminars on style and social media.

As much as I love learning how others use the space to present their sites and brands, I enjoy meeting people and getting to know them! What better way to do this then to be on a 4 night cruise that leaves Ft Lauderdale, sails to Key West and continues to Cozumel! The night before we leave on this voyage on Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas, we will have a Bon Voyage party for those that will be in the Ft Lauderdale/Miami area. Not only will this party include those going on the trip, but various social/traditional medias as well! With so many details about this trip, check out Cruise Deals.com which is our fabulous partner in working with us to put this trip together in Oct of this year! With limited spots available, there is a dedicated team working on creating a fabulous trip that I hope that we can do every year! More details will follow! Reserve your spot with a low deposit to secure your space for you and your friends!

Mingling Mondays ~ NYE Coverage Week: In My Google Reader

People love to ask me what I read in my Google Reader. Now you know I'm all about fashion but I read a number of blogs for a number of reasons and although my reader is always full, I feel that these are my top 5 that I check out each day (in some cases throughout)

5. Beauty Sweet Spot: I love reading about various items going on in beauty. Although I cover beauty, you know Kitten Lounge only does this on one day. Jeannine Morris, is a TV personality and editor in chief of this site. If you haven't caught her on various spots for morning shows or E!'s Emmy Red Carpet Pre Show, you're missing out. She is my go to when it comes to what's out there and what I should be keeping an eye out on. In addition, she is a friend that I enjoy hanging out with as I've known her for the past year and you will see her within my reality episode of To Be a Star which comes out early next year.

4. Golf Girl: I met Patricia earlier this year at the PGA Golf Show in Orlando. I've been a fan of her site as she covers golf and fashion, specifically, female golfers. Being someone that is starting to take up the sport again, I love hearing about new items that are coming in the market and also the fashions that such golfers as Lorena Ochoa and Christie Kerr are wearing! She is a must to read and is super cute as she makes her own videos as well!

3. Purple Blab Karen Robinovitz is the Creatrix of Purple Lab, a beauty line that has fab glosses such as Huge Lips, Skinny Hips. What I love about it is that I think that she has created an amazing team that has a focus on social media. Not only does her team have their own accounts so that you know each member as a distinct personality; however, her blog is more of a guide on how she is creating her business. It's not about sugar coating or making the story anything then it is - a business that is made by sweat and tears. If you ever considered going into any business, this is a must and being of a friend of Karen's, you get her personality and she is very much every bit of the person that you read online! Read her blog and you get the journey!

2. Elle Blog: I love Joe Zee and I have always been a fan of Elle so I'm always checking in with what they have going on! I'd say that it is probably the only "traditional" fashion magazine that has an online presence that I follow. It's a quick read and I think they do a fab job.

1. Mashable: My world is one that includes fashion, blogs, my jewelry line and social media. For me, it's essential that I stay in touch with new plaforms, widgets and more that can assist me in interacting with my readers and to assist companies when I freelance with them on their projects. I think it's essential to stay educated .

With New Years Eve coming, I thought it was essential that you guys see what I stay connected to and that if you hadn't had a chance to read these items, then you should! What are you guys reading and what gets you through the day in the worlds of fashion, lifestyle, tech, etc.

Snazzy Sundays ~ It's Emmy Time!

I love it! In August I headed to Vegas and met with amazing brands in order to get a peek on what to expect for Spring, once I got back here, I celebrated my 30th and went right into Fashion Week and today, the Emmy's are on. To be honest the red carpet is my favorite part of the whole award show. This year, not only am I watching for the dresses but during this year's pre-Emmy show, Jeannine Morris - Editor in Chief of Beauty Sweet Spot will be on E! talking about what else but beauty! I am so proud to call her a friend and love seeing the moves she's made in the short time that I have known her and I believe this is a stepping stone to much bigger things!

If you're in NYC, come watch with us at Lily's Restaurant @RSHotel (501 Lexington Ave) with @Tasty_Morsels, @mizcity and @Nikisnotes. If you're not following them, you should be and we will be twittering about @beautysweetspot and more!
