It's definitely a trend for brands to create products based on gender. Now Paul loves using whatever I use and it's actually tough to get him to use his own products as he loves the smells of my products. Above includes a few items that he does like that are within the men's category and items that I would like for him to try.
I have been a Dove girl since high school when it comes to me deodorants. So I was super glad to see that we have a number of men's Dove producst for him. I like that in terms of simplifying, some guys may like that they have a body wash for the body as well as the face. Personally, I like to use separate products but can see how this would be a time saver. In addition I love this two sided shower tool by them that has a sponge on one side and a loofah on the other! When it comes to lotion, I'm a huge fan of Palmer's Cocoa Butter. I definitely want to see about having this for Paul as he he likes the smell and this lotion will definitely keep his skin soft. Jack Black is a men's line that actually has a number of lip balms that I obsess over and this face moisturizer is the perfect item for your guy no matter the season. To keep a great smell, I suggest this John Varvatos limited edition cologne. When traveling he can put everything in this Burberry toiletry bag!
Summer is all about easy peasy and it's also all about being able to hop around whether it's in the city or outside of it! Paul and I have a wedding we're attending in NJ in a few weeks and it forces us to actually spend time away from our millions of projects and to experience something new! I love this look as it is such a fab look for my boyfriend! My boyfriend loves rocking his shorts and tees. Today, I took a classic Rugby shirt in navy and paired it with one of my fave pop colors that you have heard my talk about on my last two visits on HSN - yellow! Why not revamp and put a twist on the classic J Crew chino by adding this soft yellow which is the new neutral for women AND men! Cap off this look with classic nautical shoes from Polo Ralph Lauren as it's perfect for whatever it is that he's up to! Finally, anytime you travel, you have to have a fab tote and as nautical prep as everything is, John Varvatos rocks it out but stays within the trend that's being promoted!
He raids my beauty bounty and of course when new items come to my attention, he is always up to try out the newest thing! But I have to say that over the past few months, I've noticed that he loves the above the most! John Varvatos is his scent of choice as there is something about this strong vintage scent. He loves exfoliating after trying it out on my suggestion, Nude Deep Cleansing Mask keeps his face super soft while ensuring that he's not carrying around a lot of impurities. Recently, I obtained Molton Brown's Paradisiac Pink Pepperpod Bath and Shower which is a refreshing scent with a few woodsy notes in it. Perfect for men and women in my opinion and of course he agrees. Finally, I've been obsessed with Jack Black's line of lip balms and am a huge fan of Black Tea and Blackberry as well as Grapefruit and Ginger. Both scents are also on his list as well!
If you were in NYC this weekend, Central Park was crawling with people as we had sunny weather, buds on the trees and it felt reasonable enough to be out with a few layers on! Summer is around the corner but for now we're satisfied with not having to walk through snow and ice. If the winter can stay like this until Spring, I'm a happy girl! I was with the boyfriend this weekend and seeing that I live by the park, it's appropriate to begin thinking of fun outfits for him when it's time to be outside and relaxed! A picnic is much more enjoyable in the park when you have a fab look that you're rocking! Today, I'm inspired with my ongoing love affair with grey! I'm a huge fan of John Varvatos and think his sweaters are phenom and a must in any wardrobe. These can be paired with a number of fun jeans but try to have a bit of a tapered leg and stray from the boot cut style of jeans whether you opt for skinny or straight for him. Pop on our scarf whether you're guy is bold and goes for color or add some black into the look! Finally, you know that I'm a Sebago girl from my appearances with them on HSN as an On Air Host to designing Kimmie Smith x Sebago Fall 11 Collaboration (can I just say that if you loved the fall collection from the previews, you'll love what I have in store for you for Spring 12) - I think it's the perfect hanging out for the weekend kind of shoe!
Last week after coming back from an amazing night of drinks, I looked up at one of my favorite sites - the Swarovski Crystal ornament that hangs on 5th Ave by Trump Towers. As an Accessories Expert, seeing one of my favorite materials being used as one of the holiday's biggest symbols always gets me in the spirit of things. Last night, Rockefeller Center came alive with the official lighting of the tree! So whether you're into it or not, we are firmly in the Holiday Season as of now (can't wait to see Saks do their holiday presentation which is one of my favorite things as well). So now that the temperatures are only days from falling and it's the first day of December, it's all about rocking that look of trekking through the city. I am a huge fan of shearling and love love this jacket which is decadent and not bulky! Typically, you'll wear your outerwear more than anything else so it is important to invest in this piece. Paired over a pair of jeans it creates a great relaxed look. With the season being full of black, grey, caramel etc for footwear - it's about time to add some color and John Varvatos' work boot has that red that's not over the top! Make the look complete with a simple plaid shirt and you're set!
Now when he entered the world of Team Zoe, Brad Goreski was all about rocking the bow tie and making it super chic. After watching the last season, it seems that he has moved on to other fashionable choices. But I have to say that here at Kitten Lounge, we fell in love with the look. The bow tie is not meant to hang with only tuxes but also something for the everyday from heading to brunch to hanging out with friends! I was introduced to OoOTie during Fashion Week and had to include them today! With the weather getting colder and colder, I love how cozy this look is! Now this particular bow tie is out of stock but I LOVE how cute it is and can't wait until we have a photoshoot to show how we rocked the bow tie! This will be up in a few weeks but until then, enjoy how we paired it with this John Varvatos Shawl Collar Cardigan, skinny jeans and square watch bracelet by Burberry.
Kitten Lounge adores men and in particular menswear. One of the best things about this fall season is that we will have quite a bit of changes on the site! One of the things that you can expect to see each Wed is menswear and starting during Fashion Week, we will have our Men's Editor providing his take on this portion of fashion! We wanted to kick off this section in only a way that is fitting with Kitten Lounge, thinking of brunch! We all know with cooler temperatures on its way, it's nice that you can layer up and run out without having to wear a jacket! Just like yoga pants are my go to when I am grabbing brunch with just a few close friends or traveling, this is also something that works well with guys as well.
With simpler being the best way to go sometimes, I love that you can pair a simple henley tee with this terry lounge pant from RLX Ralph Lauren! Now of course, I think accessories are essential for everyone. I love the leather bracelet by John Varvatos but my fave portion of this outfit is the Shell Top Adidas! Just the other week I was in the Adidas Originals Store and saw these shoes and although they are for men's, this is definitely something that I would wear! Together this is such an easy look whether he has to walk your pooch or is running downstairs to the corner bodega to get a NY Post! I am such a Chanel No 5 fan - it's a classic scent and my personal favorite! If I wear perfume, it tends to be that one. Last year I was introduced to Euphoria Blossom which is definitely a fun scent and I thought at this point, that I was pretty well rounded in my choices of scents. Months ago I had received a sample of John Varvatos for her and although I loved the shape of the mini bottle, I didn't have the need to try it on. This morning in a crazy rush to grab samples and get out of the house, I grabbed it and put it on. The initial shock was wondering where I had placed my tried and true scents and the second - this was a great perfume! I love that it has a rich floral smell; however, it isn't overwhelming. It definitely has classic notes to it and a slight hint of a woody scent which is very mysterious! I would definitely run to your nearest Sephora to pick up this fragrance or to visit John Varvatos' site to see what other scents he has to offer. If you're looking for something nice, you might consider (for him obviously) Artisan which is perfect for the guy who loves a crisp scent and also values craftsmanship.
