In general, the weather this week has been crazy but what I love about this time of year is that when it's the holidays, you feel the need to make sure that you're out and about whether you have holiday brunches, dinners, etc or you're having a day of buying amazing gifts for others! Of course as the season continues beyond the holidays, people will find that it's much harder to get out and about! So as we battled rain which later turned to snow, we made our way to buying items for Paul's new wardrobe and also getting nibbles throughout the city. I made my way to Gifted Market which is presented by the Brooklyn Flea Market but has set up a shop in the former Tower Records location! Although there were great vendors there, I went to try out Kumquat Cupcakery!
All week, I've been hearing about how amazing these mini cupcakes were and unfortunately I missed them at the Cupcakes Take The Cake Holiday Meetup (run by the amazing cake divas: Rachel Kramer Bussel and Nichelle Stephens) that took place at the Roger Smith Hotel (so many cupcakes and yet when I got there, Kumquat Cupcakery were missing by the end of the evening)! By the time I got to the Gifted Market today I knew that I would try Coffee Caramel Bourbon and the Lavendar Cupcakes - my new favorite is the Coffee Caramel Bourbon cupcakes and I was so please to meet Keavy in person as well! These are great cupcakes since they are miniature and they're perfect for parties, gifting and so much more - plus I love their delivery territory as well which should definitely be an added incentive when it gets even colder!
