Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Out & About Chic Style

It's that time of your Spring cocktail functions, wedding related activities, awards dinners, luncheons and more. It's a great time period to put your best looks together in order to impress and look amazing in pictures. With it being Spring, try thinking of other items outside of the Little Black Dress box and since we're still in the midst of the battle between winter weather and Spring (in name only as the weather has been a bit chilly), make sure that even your outerwear is a stunner as well!

ACCESSORIES INSPIRATION

Today's look was inspired by a piece whose designer I have recently communicated with! During Awards Season this year, I became aware of Kimberly McDonald Jewelry whose design incorporates natural stones with diamonds. I love natural decadence and from the pieces I've seen I've become hooked and can't wait to meet her in person. I was flipping through some sites and fell in love with her Gold, Geode and Diamond necklace (growing up in Indiana originally, I remember being on my college campus at Indiana University and finding geodes). This inspired the blush infused outfit that I believe is perfect for these occasions.

GET THE LOOK

This look merges caramel and blush together! Roll over the images to see how you can get these pieces as many are great classics that can be worn with other items or are staples to have in your closet. Blush is one of those new neutrals that look so well on a number of skin tones!

Wearable Wednesdays: Awards Season 2013 ~ People's Choice Awards

Tonight, The People's Choice Awards had a number of celebs hitting the red carpet and I had to choose my favorites! I love when the carpets have fabulous white dresses on them. Taylor Swift looked phenomenal in this classic Ralph Lauren plunging dress accented with turquoise earrings was the perfect touch. Ellen Pompeo looks fabulous in this long white bohemian maxidress by Lanvin which I could see being such a versatile piece to wear for a number of things such as a night out, a day of shopping and on a rooftop in Miami. Rumor Willis looks phenomenal in her black and silver Alice + Olivia dress (we had posted about the green version of this dress during the holiday season) which has just the perfect amount of sparkle. Finally Nikki Deloach has this fabulous dress that makes me think of Audrey Hepburn (we'll update with the designer).

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Rocking Bohemian Western Style

Sometimes I love to rock a western style look and mix it in with a little western flair! Instead of rocking a number of accessories, I opted for this Etro button down shirt which has a number of fab colors and paired it with these Sylvie Schimmel leggings which are fabulously sleek. You've seen me rocking my Linea Pelle bag over the past few days and I OBSESS over how I can bring a number of items without having multiple bags. Lanvin has this fab Tutti Frutti crystal cocktail ring. Finally, these burnt orange suede Diane Von Furstenberg boots which are perfect for jazzing up any look!

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Stuns Too

One of my favorite times of year is the holiday season with the launch of the windows. Barney's tops last year's Gaga's Workshop windows with having a full Holiday 2012 rollout where Disney and Barneys worked to create products, window installations, a short film and a 3D light show with a concept known as Electic Holiday (off of their Electric Parade). The project will be unveiled on Nov 14th! The nexus of the project will be a short film that will be screened in the windows at Barney's flagship on Madison Ave here in NYC. We find out the Minnie Mouse has a dream to model in Paris and hits the runway wearing none other than Lanvin, Goofy struts in Balmain, Daisy Duck saunters in Dolce & Gabanna and Mickey Mouse rocks it in Balenciaga!

Product offerings are fashion focused too with L'Wren Scott and Rag & Bone designed Mickey Mouse ears that will be sold in select Barneys stores around the holidays, and Diane von Furstenberg and Paul Smith created Mickey Mouse-shaped vinyl figurines.

Mingling Mondays: SS 2012 Trends ~ Charlize Theron

At the beginning of the month, celebs hit the red carpet for the MTV Movie Awards at Universal Studios in LA. It's definitely one of the more light hearted shows but I love that Charlize Theron didn't skimp on giving a wow moment when she wore this red ensemble by Lanvin, Jimmy Choo and jewelry by Dsquared crystal and studded pumps which are befitting for star! In addition, a fun triangular clutch from Simone Rainer which creates a playful look. Finally, why not add a statement necklace with Oscar de la Renta?

Mingling Mondays: SS 2012 Trends ~ Brandy Norwood

Who doesn't love Brandy Norwood? She has a phenomenal voice, acts and very much so comes across as the girl next door! Last night, she hit the Red Carpet arrivals at yesterday's 2012 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand. Obviously we'll update you on the pieces that brand is wearing but we're loving the blush/mauve hued fringe dress that allowed her to show her inner Grecian Goddess. Her little clutch was fabulous and I love that she didn't skimp on the bracelets and rings (although I would have loved to have seen a wider arm cuff as well as a statement ring! Although her peep toe pumps were cute, I would have streamlined the look just a touch by pairing it with this Lanvin Cone Sandal - it creates a lightness and more of the golden look that she has throughout her accessories choices!

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Pool Side

There is something about taking some time to yourself as you rest by the pool or at the beach! I love that style finds itself here as well! I'm loving today's His Style which focuses on wayet style. I love starting with the basics with a v-neck grey t-shirt by Banana Republic and pair it with these fab Burberry Brit checked boardshorts so that's he swim ready! Finish it off with a crisp pair of Havaianaswhich have the soles of the flip flop sewn into the covered shoe! Love it! I enjoyed attending a fun Havaianas event last night which showcased a number of fun and limited edition pairs that will be out there in your store soon!

When it comes to accessories, I love Tiffany & Co has when it comes to this fabulous Oval Signet Ring. Pair this with Miansai's leather bracelet which is a great way to add a pop of something different. Finally, keep cool weather at bay with Lanvin's hoodie which is perfect for you to rock whenever he isn't wearing it!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Nautical Chic

There is nothing better then being able to rock the nautical look by embracing white and navy together! First off start off with a very simple white shirt dress that is comfort at its best thanks to Hache! Make this look classic with a bit of edge by pairing this with Giuseppe Zanotti Denim Peep Toe Pumps as well as their Silver Finish Cuff Bracelet. I'm loving this clutch by Marc by Marc Jacobs that is a straw navy striped bag. Lanvin's Short Petal Necklace adds a sweet element to this look. Finally, I love Emily Armenta's Blue Mother of Pearl Teardrop Ring on Double Craveli Band is the perfect cocktail ring to wear to complete this look.

What I love about this look is that it is super versatile whether you're working at the office, having a lunch with colleagues and continuing on for a night of drinks and dinner. These components are SO basic but together are chic and can be worn with a number of looks that will add classic elements to the overall look!

Treasure Tuesdays: Kimmie's 5s ~ Neutral Adoration

In our last week at looking at 5 accessories that are apart of my favorite ways to complete a look, we have to go super chic! This is perfect whether you're looking to get decked out for NYE, a gala or anything else where you need to look beyond phenomenal. Start off with a dress that definitely is a conversational piece from the moment that you walk into the room! When it comes to these pieces, there is no other designer to think about other than Donna Karan! I love this twisted jersey stretch dress which is very architectual in appearance; however, being the perfect way to look amazing in comfort. A dress like this doesn't need a lot of assistance but when it comes to true wow power, this look will look just amazing with my picks.

I don't talk about earrings a lot but I love Melinda Maria's Pod Collection Black Onyx Chandelier Pod Pave Earrings which add a textured look and a decadence as well. I'm obsessed with Lanvin's Pave Crystal & Rope Necklace which adds a regal element to the look. Slip on one of my fave designers, Stephen Dweck's Mother of Pearl cocktail ring which adds some levity to the pave and onyx portion of the look. Since you're dressing for an occasion, the shoes cap off the look of dazzle with Pierre Hardy's Circle Sandal which is a crystal encrusted suede shoe. Finally, I'm loving VBH's large envelope clutch which has a fab glimmer to it.Together or separate this is the epitome of neutral adoration.

Mingling Mondays ~ Fall for Burgundy

We are now securely in Fall so it's time to rock a number of styles that are all about layering and fun colors! Since the weather is in between you can have this fun asymmetrical tank top in navy by T by Alexander Wang and pair that with Paige Premium Denim jeggings which make this look super easy to wear and is perfect when you're going into various transitional temperatures. Pair this look with Pringle of Scotland's jacquard poncho cardigan (salivating over this and it is available in a camel color as well) - this does so well with the weather and will become one of your favorite items to wear! I love that it has such a fun collegiate and yet very autumn look!

Now it's time to accessorize! I'm loving Lanvin's pendant necklace which has a fab drop/lariat effect and brings out the inner goddess. Your wrist should definitely rock Chan Luu which adds just the right amount of chunky depth and I love the play of the hues within this bracelet. Slip on these brown Frye Shirley boots which are an essential as they are flat and are over the knee boots! Yes you can mix this rich brown color with burgundy hues as it's all just play. Finally, tote all your items in this fab hobo bag from Bottega Veneta which is a red snake embossed leather. This is such a fab look!

Mingling Mondays ~ Copper Rock

I love copper it's a great tone that tends to look great on all skin tones and it's a great way to incorporate glitz into your look now as we push further into fall. When we're thinking about the holiday season, this is the perfect color if you're not into wearing gold. Today's look includes Halston with it's classic heritage one shoulder top which is a nice way to showcase your physique! When wearing a one shoulder top, it's all about the accessories without out going too overboard as I love that this top already has dimension within it. I will say that wearing it with your favorite pair of skinny jeans is an absolute must and then you can slip on these python knee boots by Lanvin just to have some wow factor! With your feet making the ultimate statement, let's pop on John Hardy's ring to add a bit of mixed metal love to the mix and round it out with a thinner but rocking cuff by Pamela Love for Opening Ceremony which has a bit of studding on it.

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Work Cozy

Yesterday I talked about getting the summer version of the power outfit! The look that makes you feel so pretty and cute while allowing you to make the moves necessary to get to the next level! Today, I focus on another work essential! Now, if you work from home, you may have your team come to you so true loungewear is necessary but sometimes you have those hours or days where you have the home to yourself. You can truly be cozy, you're well stocked with coffee, salads and more - it's a power day of work where you, your laptop, iPad, legal pad and more will be tearing through work. When having those days, I do tend to start my day stocking my tote with everything that needs to get done to prep for conference calls, while tackling my ever growing to do lists. It's rare that I'm not at an event, traveling, etc so it's nice to start the day with tea in my babydoll to get work done!

I am a big believer in making sure that I am always dressed no matter what so why not have this phenomenal Betsey Johnson babydoll which is easy breezy and can even be layered over an elongated tank if you opt to not wear it alone. I actually do wear jewelry even when lounging as I think having a necklace (new to me and my new obsession Marv Graff) combined with a pave ring (loving Sethi Couture) are the perfect ways to enhance your look! Finally, a tote to put all the "must do" items together to start on first can be in this super fun Lanvin bag which has fab color to complete the look. Who doesn't want to be Pretty in Pink?

Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Lanvin Rocks Paris

Everyday someone somewhere is hitting the runway and rocking a phenom look. Yesterday Lanvin's Ready to Wear line came alive in Paris. As always, we're sharing what looks we loved the most. I am all about one shoulder dresses and anything that has the Greco/Roman inspiration is absolutely perfect. I love this slate color as it begs to have accessories that make the overall look pop! In addition, I'm all about classic pieces that have a bit of a stunning look to it and this dress with the large embellishment and a deep V is perfect! Enjoy one of my favorite designers and continue to think how phenomenal your Autumn/Winter collection will look with these items in it!

Snazzy Sundays ~ My Travel Checklist

I'm a huge believer in paying attention to the details whether it's what I wear over the weekends to run errands and hang out or what I wear when it's time to hit the friendly skies. I like for my travel gear to have a flow as you never know who you may meet in the airport or where you will be heading off to once you land. With upcoming travel being on my mind, along with Fashion Week, here are some fab essentials to consider. First off, your fave pair of heels must be protected and as my Jimmy Choo's are my babies, they should be in a shoe tote that will make them feel a little more comfortable during their journey. While jetting off from one locale to the next, I know that it is essential to have a passport cover that doesn't disappoint so I'm loving the simple but chic, Dooney and Bourke cover. Everything has to go somewhere and even when you travel it should be wrapped in luxury. Lanvin's snakeskin canvas suitcase looks phenom while also being easy to care for due to the fabric choice (we all know what happens to how our suitcases and how they are not handled so well - so having phenomenal materials when you're hitting your favorite carrier, may be something you want to think about). Of course the journey is a lot easier when you're not chilly - so I'm loving DKNY's beaded cardigan which looks fab over a number of looks from a ponte pant to a pair of jeans. With a bit of tweaking, you can ensure that you find your own travel checklist which will make you look like the jetsetter that you know you are.

Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Decked Out

We're having major activity going on over here! This weekend and next week there will be some serious answers coming back to me so I may be preoccupied for a few days. The news could be so good that a celebration could be in order. I'm loving this outfit as I would definitely want a celebratory dinner in this look. It's super chic and Lanvin so how could you go wrong? Of course when I am able to share I will but just know that it's super huge! Huge enough that wearing this entire outfit is an absolute necessity!

Trendy Thursdays: Notes From Paris ~ Autumn Dream ...

Notes from Paris is a series of posts from Valerie Nahmias, Beauty Editor of Femina Magazine in Paris. Brought together by our mutual friend and fashion photographer, Franco Lacosta, her posts will be featured each month bringing us her insights on beauty from products to fabulous tips! Last time, Valerie talked about the Lanvin's new scent Marry Me! Today she lets us in on scents that are perfect for fall and to enhance your sleeping or waking up through the eyes of a child.

Have you noticed how a sunny day can be soft when the clouds filter the sunbeams and makes your home so cool and cozy? WOW!! It's serene for us to see our child sleeping in a revelry of dreams. During this precious time, we can prepare our weekly beauty regime!! To contribute to the bliss of their sleep, but also to their olfactory awakening, I like adding a touch of sweetness perfumed on their sheets or in the atmosphere. 5 light waters attract my attention this autumn...

A real invitation to dreams, the mist of Morpheus calms the senses. This attractive Canadian brand associates the geranium to balance the feelings and lavender to facilitate the sleep. Two sprays in the fresh and clean room add a touch of love in the air…

L’eau de lit de Guerlain, created by Francis Kurkdjan is as soft as a baby's kiss. With notes of sage, seed of néroli, leaves of bergamot, orange, coriander and vanilla, children wake up enchanted.

The Vinaigre de Toilette seems old-fashioned in 2010 but really, I always like his wooded spicy perfume. So French, so Dyptique! A drop in the bath or at the bottom of a small dish, into which I add a cup of boiling water, its perfumes divinely the room.

One more? Super trendy, the water of linen Infusion d’Iris! Pulverized on the linen before ironing, she leaves a sophisticated powder smell Made in Italy ! Let’s live our winter in wonderful fragrances…

Shopping List...

Mist of Morpheus, Officina Urban Therapy 15 € 100 ml

Water of Bed of Guerlain, 50 € 125 ml

Vinaigre de Toilette Dyptique, 38 € 100 ml

Infusion of Iris, Water of Linen, Prada, 53,30 € the liter c/o Sephora

Trendy Thursdays ~ Notes from Paris: Women in Love

Notes from Paris is a series of posts from Valerie Nahmias, Beauty Editor of Femina Magazine in Paris. Brought together by our mutual friend and fashion photographer, Franco Lacosta, her posts will be featured each month bringing us her insights on beauty from products to fabulous tips! Last time, Valerie talked about the Rochas on the rocks! Today she lets us in on Women in Love.

There is some perfumes as master piece of art : a perfect balance between warmth and freshness, revealing a brightness that makes us fall in love for eternity.

What is the secret of its beautiful scent? Antoine Maisondieu, compositor of the fragrance, upgrade the formula with the best extract of white roses, freesia, jasmine, bitter orange, peach, cedar and musk… Deeply feminine, the juice adorns itself with the notes of the skin of the one who wears it, so exciting !

Marry me! The name of the new Lanvin perfume has a audacious character, and the story it leaves in its trail looks like a dream that we are all waiting for. We want it now ! (but we will have to wait until September…)

Why do I love it ? Not only for its design, its couture knot pap in pink satin or its attractive advertising which reminds me the spring, but for its gorgeous bouquet of delicate flowers, fresh fruit and precious woods.

Hymne à la joie* , here is the perfume of the happy days.

*in french in the text

Marry Me ! Eau de parfum 45 € les 30 ml, Lanvin
