There are days where I love glamming it up in black! There is somethign about this that makes everyone look amazing. I'd start off with this gorgeous dress that is very whimsical by Lela Rose in tulle and silk. Pair this with fabulous Versace heels with a double platform peep toe! With the one shoulder effect of this dress, you only need a simple Mikimoto Diamond and Black South Sea Cultured Pearl Necklace which is simple but stunning. I've always been a fan of Kir Jewelry as I love their antiqued and modern look! This cocktail ring has a fabulous Mother of Pearl etched stone which adds depth to the overall look. Wearing this look means that an updo is definitely something that will enhance this chic look so that everyone can see your Phillips Frankel Diamond and Black Mother of Pearl Earrings. Finally, pop in a hue with this oversized envelope clutch by Valextra which is a fab blue/grey hue. For the modern day fairytale look, this is definitely one that you'll want to embrace.
It's day 4 of NYFW as well as the remembrance of 9/11. Lela Rose opened her show by turning off the lights (as is done at every show) and played John Lennon's "Imagine". It was such a tranquil and unifying moment as we were all singing along with the twinkling lights of phones in the audience. As the song faded out, the tempo kicked in and our eyes were treated to pastels and vibrant orange and sunburst hues. Looks that were perfect for being out and about to nicer affairs graced the runway. Of course, Lela Rose included her footwear line that's available at Payless as well as her jewelry collection. I fell in love with many of her pieces that were in grey tones as well. The show was zippy and vibrant - of course we have the final walk as well as the girls showed us a blend of fresh looks with some throwing a little love to the day dresses of Doris Day!
We're at the halfway point of NY Fashion Week and we are definitely pumping ourselves up for a few more days of fashionable shows, parties and so much more! With that being said, it's a lighter day for Team Kitten Lounge. Good thing as we're one of the sponsors of Lookbook's Blogger Break Room so we can't wait to see all of our friends in media and the industry there! If you've yet to RSVP - this would be the last hour to do so!
You'll see that this show was definitely one of my favorites. My birthday was yesterday and although I was backstage at Lela Rose at 9am, this show set the tone for many of the amazing shows that I saw throughout the day. Being able to see Ted Gibson and his team work magic on the models was phenomenal yet again. I loved that in this show, Lela Rose was inspired by Peru and being out in the ocean and Ted conveyed this look with side swept, windblown braided hair - loved the look and it had such a romantic vibe. You felt that each girl had just gotten off a horse. The videos will show the looks being created with the hair and Ted actually speaks with me about the inspiration as well as finding out about his accessories (how can an Accessories Expert resist this).
The videos show the madness of backstage and Mary from Real Housewives DC was backstage (I've seen her quite a bit this Fashion Week as well as shows from yesterday - love her shoes), I got a moment to talk with Lela Rose herself and to hear about her shoe line that is sold at Payless (the ones that she is rocking - $39.95 and available)! In addition, there is footage of accessories laid out for the show, girls getting in their items and of course the final walk on the runway to close the show! Lots of goodies and it's a great way to see what I see when I am attending shows! I also loved meeting the Beauty.com team that was backstage! As always, my fave two looks!
