Everyone knows that I am a huge fan of Natori as I have worn her collections to Fashion Week, have attended her home and listened to her play piano for us as well. Earlier this week, I stopped by her showroom to preiview N Natori, her full figure bra line! Pictured above, is Josie Natore and myself. In addition, there is a fab video of Nicolette Mason of Marie Claire chatting about the importance of the right bra for full figure women and how it's hard to find the right one. Although I don't fit the N Natori line, I was fitted for another bra and found that my size was very different then what I thought. I also learned helpful tips about your bra and how it should be worn!
When trying on a new bra, you should scoop yourself into it to ensure that you are taking up all the bra. I think it also helps with having a little extra hanging outside of your bra which isn't attractive. You should also begin using the last hook and then going in as it gets older. You should wash your bras by hand and you should rotate between 3 - 4 in a week and should only wear the same bra twice back to back! These tips help you with your bra hunt as well as extending the life of your bra!
We're on day 2 where my collection for the Kimmie Smith x Sebago Fall 11/Cruise Collection is currently showing at Capsule Show until Mon the 21st! Although I will not be at the booth today, it was so much fun to see the shoes laid out in the collection, to get the feedback (hello Marie Claire stopped by and snapped pics) and I was able to really hang out with another member of the Sebago team, Tom Siano! It's fun to share your story with people about why you designed something and then to talk about the directions that it can go in! This collection was inspired by my lifestyle - being someone that runs all over NYC to Editor's appointments, collab meetings, cocktails and most importantly the most important meal of the week - brunch! It's an Audrey Hepburn inspired collection that is ultramodern and very uptown components whether you gravitate towards the boat shoes or the super cute loafers! I also through in a bit of my heritage with a few pairs that remind me of my hometown (Indianapolis) and walking my campus, Indiana University! It was a lot of fun and I'm super glad that Sebago had me there as I wouldn't have wanted to miss out! Included in today's posts are some images of the show and the booth. Yesterday the amazing weather took a bit of a dip but I still rocked my hopes of a sooner spring by rocking this fab ruffle printed shirt by Thai Nguyen, Joe's Jean's, cute cream cami from Forever 21 and of course a pair of Sebagos (not from my collection).
As you read this, I'm in prep mode for a mega brunch downtown with one of my favorite girls and friends! I'm also doing all the last minute things that one would do in preparation for a trip! I can't believe that I am now turning my mind to HSN! I mean, this is a huge audience and once again, it's a fab project that I am doing with Sebago. My collection will not be apart of this; however, I am pleased that I will be sharing their Spring 2011 collection as well as talking about how to style them up. Throughout this week, Elle has partnered with HSN to showcase their Fashion Week and on Wed the 23rd, you'll see a number of amazing accessories brands hit the air on this shopping destination network. In addition, you'll be able to hang out with me at 2am, 7am and 3pm. Over the next few days, you'll be looped into what I'm doing wearing, hanging out with etc and of course you can stay connected and tweet me on @cocoabebe.
