Treasure Tuesdays: SS2012 Trends ~ Round Up of UK Summer Festival Style

Round up of this Summer's Festival Style

With autumn upon us, we look back fondly at this summer's great festival style. Festivals are a great part of the UK summer time despite the weather! Styles this summer ranged from casual and simple to glamour-packed dresses with powerful prints.

Whether the festival featured the Black Eyed Peas or Def Leppard, there were fashionable outfits everywhere!

Coachella

Coachella 2012 brought a great mix of style. Some festival goers wore simple tank tops and torn jeaned shorts for comfort during the busy days. Another hot style was the bikini top with graphic patterned leggings. The breezy tops kept festival fans cool in the hot weather as they danced to the music of Rihanna and lounged between shows.

Even Harry Potter actress Emma Watson got into the spirit of Coachella. She appeared with a fresh, basic face of makeup, gladiator sandals and Mulberry's Fuzzy Tiger Playsuit. The flirty dress showed off her legs well. What fun style!

V Festival

V Festival in Staffordshire at the end of August brought celebrities Chloe Moretz and Pixie Lott, as well as great summer festival style. The maxi dress was a popular choice, with a range of bright pinks and oranges as well as lively prints. Pieces like Bank Fashion's BLONDE & BLONDE Floral Maxi Dress fit perfectly with festival style.

Festival Accessories

Whichever summer festival was attended, ladies were prepared for the muddy conditions with wellies and packed thick socks for cool nights. Great boots with a pop of colour included Dr Martens Pascal 8-Eye Boots. The chunky rubber soul kept mud at bay while the shade of purple was a kick starter for the day-long trip or weekend!

No festival style was complete without a great shot of colour to the hair. Colour Xtreme Hair Art Colour Spray took hair to the next level with shocking oranges and playful reds.

Great jewellery was paired with the fun style as well. Bibi Bijoux's Snakeskin Orange Cuff Bracelet and the Navy Necklace from Boticca were great choices. Neither piece is heavy; the pieces move easily amidst the festival dancing!

Whether a celebrity or local festival fan, the ladies brought a great mix of summer festival fashion. Clothes were playful and light in fabric for daytime. Hair colour got mixed into the fun as ladies used hair art gel to create bright shades of reds and other colours. Festivals were great this summer, now on to the next season!

Fashionable Fridays ~ Rock Colored Denim

Now I love jeans - especially the dark ones but I have bitten by my new love of rocking colored denim. This officially went live when I was on HSN this weekend and was wearing Citron colored denim! Now I'm thinking of going beyond this and into more hues! It's so fun and a nice way to spark pop into your outfit while also loving the joy that denim (stretch please) can give! Today's look is inspired by this new love! Loving the Enza Costa creates a number of angles that make this look fab.

Of course, we have to bring some fabtastic bling into this look with neutral tones! I love this set of 3 slim Urban Warrior bangles by my favorite python designer, Ted Rossi. My new obsession is Dara Ettinger with this Lori Three Bezel Cluster Sunset Ring which is a nice way to show off fabulously polished fingers! Sergio Rossi knows about rocking the heel in a fun way! I love mixing the black and white bangles with a python in the caramel hue thanks to these platform sandals. Finally, you have to carry your favorite possessions in a luxe way - check out Mulberry's Soft Travel Soft Matte Top Handle. The embellishments on this bag are fantastic as you can only have the best hardware on your bag to showcase your sense of style!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Beauty Doctor Bag

When temperatures begin to dip, you know it's time to take your basic necessities with you! This means that for the girl on the go, I needs to make sure that I bring my little medical musts with me! Many of them happen to be beauty remedies that pull a little double duty. You can rock your Mulberry but the good news is that your Tory Burch can include your winter pack.

First off, you can definitely find throat drops in my bag. Right now, I am loving Original Pine Brothers that comes in a soothing honey drop. I love the old school packaging, natural ingredients and that it's an old school product. Stock up by getting 3 of these containers. Pop one in a bag, in your medicine cabinet and on your side table in your bedroom. Elizabeth Grant has a number of beauty items and of course their Lip Collagen Restore keeps your lips soft and amazing but there are other hidden benefits too. When you're blowing your nose, your skin is getting stripped by oils and having massive irritation, apple this under your nose and around your nostrils to retain your moisture so that you're always camera ready!

I'm obsessed with having soft hands so Bliss' high intensity cream which leaves a nice thick coating. This is also fab to use on elbows, knees and to even warm up ear lobes as well after coming in from the chill. When you feel a little under the weather or are recovering, use Laura Geller bronzer so that you have a nice healthy glow. When your cheeks pop it plays back into your eyes and you look phenom!

5. Achoo! Cold weather=runny noses. Every time you use a tissue to blow your nose, you’re stripping your skin of its natural oils, causing irritation under your nostrils. Apply lip restore after blowing your nose to moisturize dry sensitive skin!
