Snazzy Sundays ~ The Big Game

Being from Indiana originally, I love sports in general and the Super Bowl is always one of my favorites to watch regardless of whether my team made it or not! In the past10+ years of me living in NYC, it also marks the proximity of New York Fashion Week for the presentation of Fall/Winter! But today, it's all about wings, potato salad, bevvies and more! Throughout today, I will be tweeting about a number of Super Bowl items so make sure to follow, @KittenLounge as well as @Cocoabebe. I can't wait to see what commercials are going to be our new faves and how the half time show will be (of course also seeing the winners of the game).

Trendy Thursdays ~ Face Charts

I love this time of year as it's glam on another level! You get to kick off the year with awards season, a number of trade shows showcase what is coming into the market for the fall and of course you have a nunmber of Fashion Weeks globally and that's just the overall calendar within the Fashion industry! There are so many organizational methods taking place to keep everyone on the same page as companies are involved in a number of events and Face Charts are a life saver.

Years ago when I first modeled, I don't believe it registered with me that they were being used as I just sat in the chair and let the magic happen around me; however, when I began to cover backstages of NYFW or attended shoots, I realized that these face charts were not only there so that people had a guide of how the look would be but it was a great way to ensure that the makeup look complimented the clothing. When I launched Shoe Week last year during NYFW, it was much easier to ensure that the vision I had for each runway show was being communicated as I was able to look at the face chart that our makeup artist created! Finally, I even create them for myself for events that I am doing or when I am going on HSN - so simple and easy!

This is a look that was created for Erin Heatherton when she attended the CFDA Fashion Awards and is actually a signature look that I have worn off and on as I love that it has a smouldering eye and a great pop of pink lip, I always call this my "Sun Kissed" look when I am doing TV as it's warm, totally works even for early morning call times (on HSN) and it's super chic! You can find blank face charts for your needs and then play around with creating your desired look!

For those that want to know how to re-create the look from this chart, here is how you can recreate it courtesy of Victoria's Secret Beauty:

FACE

Get this Bronzed Bombshell look by applying VS PRO Radiant FX Face Illuminator everywhere the sun naturally hits: forehead, tops of cheekbones, bridge of nose and tip of the chin.

Lightly dust VS Makeup Baked Mineral Bronzing Powder in Goddess on temples, under cheekbones, and to the tip of the chin for extra sunkissed radiance followed by VS Makeup Luminous Blush Duo in Starlet.

EYES

Define upper and lower lashlines with VS Makeup Eyeliner in Dark Chocolate. Use a flat, firm liner brush to blend and soften the line.

Apply VS Makeup Shimmer Eye Shadow in Chestnut from lashline to crease. Next, apply more color to the outer corner of the eye and blend up and out towards the brow.

Using fingertips, dab Shimmer Eye Shadow in Taupe Love to the center of the lid. Add a dab of the shadow to the inner corner for an eye-opening effect.

Finish with two coats of VS Makeup Triple Drama Mascara in Blackest Black.

LIPS

Complete the red carpet look with a swipe of VS Makeup Lip Gloss in Intimate.

Wearable Wednesdays: 2012 Year in Review ~ Miss Global Int'l

We hope everyone had a phenom Christmas yesterday whichever way you spent it! We continue sharing some of our faves this year that we covered as we get closer to the beginning of a new and prosperous year which will bring a number of changes to Kitten Lounge that you will love!

When Fashion Week and Shoe Week had wrapped, Kitten Lounge headed off to Montego Bay, Jamaica for the Miss Global International Pageant which had contestants from a number of countries in the world competing for the title. It was an amazing time to see a pageant that has been around for less than 10 years but continues to grow as well as to enjoy the hospitality of the Jamaican Tourism Board by visiting the treasures of their nation from the time our wheels touched down to coming back to the US.

Check out our coverage from our phenomenal press trip to this island and more by visiting our Jamaican Edition!

Wearable Wednesdays ~ Hitting the Gym

It feels like it's been so long since we had one of our spreads but with Paris Fashion Week ending today, we return to a state of norm so that you can get them again! Right before Fashion Week, I was gifted with Therafit sneakers which are a fabulously vibrant red hue. I can't say enough how comfy they are and as we will be doing segments on the site focusing on fitness, you'll see me rocking these. When I'm off to the gym, it's all about my look and I would totally pair these with Adidas running performance shorts and this super cute tank from O'Neill and since I leave the gym and generall run light errands, I can rock this Reed Krakoff gym bag which is the perfect tote! Make sure that you stay hydrated! During our Shoe Week event during NYFW, we loved that our sponsor, was available for our attendees! Now that we are back in the Kitten Lounge offices, we're bummed that we finished our last box of water which is perfectly served at room temperature!

Fashionable Fridays: Maid of Honor Edition ~ On the Run

Roll over images for details

So with New York Fashion Week being days away as well as the simultaneous launch of Shoe Week, I was slightly taken aback when I received some invites for upcoming bridal shows taking place in Oct. Now I cover bridal, that's not the issue; however, this season it has more meaning since my sister is newly engaged! So this season, it will be me covering but also have my mom and sister there to view the designs!

Although my sister will have a destination wedding, I'm pumped about doing the fun things like running errands and how about us doing this in cute hoodies she can rock the Victoria's Secret bride hoodie and I can have one that says Maid of Honor! We can also have matching cropped sweat pants from the brand. I never go anywhere without oversized sunglasses and this pair by Givenchy is perfect!

My sister and I will be running around and yet again, what's more fun then buddy bags! This bag is cute and perfect for my sister (although I would rock the gunmetal hue of this in violet) by . I love to rock a fun nail hue from Butter London and this hue is so fun when you ensure that your steps are also in the colorstory! In addition, I'm loving that we can stay comfy with my favorite flip flops from Havaianas. Keeping it in the something blue family, you're able to tie it into a wedding theme, a spa day for the bridal party etc. If you've yet to check out Havaiana's Hot Summer Nights campaign on Facebook, you'll want to see how you can get in on the fun by using your own summer as the backdrop to be eligible to win a trip to Brazil!

Snazzy Sundays ~ Your NYFW Office

The countdown continues towards New York Fashion Week continues! In the last few weeks, we're all working to make sure that our schedules make sense for shows. Here at the Kitten Lounge Loft, we're adding to our team to cover the shows as I will be focusing on Shoe Week! As the Co-Founder and Creative Director, I'm up to my eyeballs in planning a number of details from runway shows to private events. Whether I'm in our offices or hanging out at home, the theme is always fashion!

It's easy to tweak your office to ensure that it is ready for New York Fashion Week whether you're covering Shoe Week, Milk Made or Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week. I love having a fab armoir from Viva Terra, whether you turn it into a place that houses your favorite beverage a la Mad Men or you place your shoes in there - or both! Add some art by taking your favorite images and placing it within this frame from Macy's. Prop your feet up on this ottoman from Ethan Allen. I also love that this piece of furniture makes for a great table! I would also use this to store my Duracell Powermat which ensures that while you're at shows in the tents, you don't have to worry about your phone powering down in between tweets! Charge it up in a specially made case from Duracell and leave it on the mat. In addition, power the back up charge so that if your phone does lose a battery, you can charge it on the smaller one when you're out and about - it's definitely helped me in a pinch! You can win a Duracell Powermat of your very own by entering our fab giveaway - continue reading and enter!

Relax or power up some work on this chaise from Urban Outfitters in this fab grey shade and pop on a pair of peacock themed pillows from Gump's and Dwell Studio. Finally, have your nightstand in your office to handle odds and ends with this piece from Anthropologie and if you have some space, you can use it as a way to display your shoe of the moment such as this Camilla Skovgaard.

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Giorgio Armani

Late last month, Giorgio Armani's Menswear show hit Milan Fashion Week! From crisp suiting for the Hamps, to suits at the office he had his models covered. In addition, we're loving the casual style that was perfect for jaunts in the country (or maybe if you're country involves portions of the city that you don't usually hand out)! Can we talk about the accessories and handbags? These items are perfect for women as well! With only 5 weeks to go from New York Fashion Week next month (stay tuned as I co-founded and will be launching Shoe Week and being days from flipping through September magazines, we're so ready!

Fashionable Fridays ~ Win Shi

During New York Fashion Week FW 2012/13, I was able to attend Gen Art's Fashion Show that was sponsored by Crest 3D White (which we all know that I have been a long time fan of this and also enjoy that as a brand ambassador, it's always fun to be invited to their events). Whitney Port emceed the runway show which had a number of designers showcasing their work. Designers competed in the "Little White Wardrobe" and Win Shi was the winner of this event. Enjoy the video that features this fabulous designer and see why she definitely won!

Snazzy Sundays ~ Take a Moment

With Fashion Week (at least here in NY) behind us, I am taking a few days to regroup, organize and to prep before I head out to LA with Paul! There is no better way to do this than with tea! Much like the Penguin (which is still my fave as it turns water into seltzer), I am now tied with my obsession of Breville's One Touch Tea Maker also available at Williams Sonoma! You can select what kind of tea you are brewing and how many cups you'll enjoy. I love that even after brewing, it will still stay hot an hour later - yes the tea definitely tastes better and I can't have it any other way now! If you're going to enjoy your tea, you have to have other accessories!

I'm a huge fan of Moroccan design (and of Horchow), food, etc so these tea glasses are the perfect way to enjoy a cup of tea! In case there are spills, this tea towel, available at West Elm is perfect to have on hand. Williams Sonoma also has a Honey Dipper which I love as I generally put this in my tea as opposed to sugars, the spoon ensures that you have the perfect amount. Finally, present your tea whether it's for yourself or for a group, via R&Y's Augousti Large Shagreen Tray at Barney's.

Swoonfest Saturdays: NYFW SS12 ~ After Hours

As promised we are wrapping up our New York Fashion Week coverage into the weekend. This way we will be back to our regularly scheduled program on Mon! With that said, I had many people ask me how did I get through NYFW? I wish I could say that I was eating well balanced meals, getting plenty of rest and exercising to start each day. But in reality Fashion Week is a hectic schedule and with this season launching my line and doing appearances, it was even crazier! With that said, you find comfort where you can! In the day, that may mean spending an extra 20 mins to mingle with friends between shows, maximizing the fun of lounges or just taking a moment to go off site to get some work done so you're not as stressed.

For me, I took the night time to get comfortable while I worked to stay current with shows. During UGG's Post Fashion Night Out brunch, I soaked in the sun, yummie nibbles/bevvies and loved our gift - fabulous Ansley shoes in Grey. Seeing that I was in heels everyday and standing for long periods, my feet deserved the ultimate in comfort! Due to all the fun outfits I wore (which I can't thank Natori enough, it simply meant that in coming home, I had to slip into something comfortable that wouldn't stop my work flow. LnA hits the spot as it's cozy, cute and in a pinch, I can throw on leggings and make a quick errand if need me. Finally, my skin is another way that I revitalized my self after hours. Bliss' Sugar Scrub in Blood Orange White Pepper Sugar Scrub ensures that my skin stays soft and glows so that I can rock my Ted Rossi pieces and my Virgins, Saints and Angels one as well.

My after hours routine in terms of NYFW is all about obtaining comfort without distracting from the work that had to be taken care of. Having these at my disposal ensured that I looked great and was prepping for the next day of events.

Trendy Thursdays: NYFW SS12 ~ Final Day of NYFW

Picture courtesy of Robert Verdi Luxe Lab as I chat with a fashionista about Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12 during NYFW Chic Week

New York Fashion Week in Sept (and to much of the same extent in Feb), makes up a large portion of my year as it's all about hitting shows, seeing new brands and establishing my relationships. This season, I celebrated my birthday (always) as well as the 4th anniversary of my digital baby and then launched my Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 2012 collection at the Robert Verdi Luxe Lab with me doing Meet and Greets off and on through the season. Today marks my last Meet and Greet as well as the last day of me running through all of the amazing fashions that I have seen this season. It has been such an amazing opportunity to share my work with friends, colleagues and new connects! If you know one thing about me, you know that I love chatting it up with others about what my passion is and spreading it around. With this being the last day, coverage of Spring Summer 2012 NYFW comes to a close but there will be odds and ends that will be included tomorrow and the weekend so that we will be back to our regularly scheduled programming.

If you would like to stay in touch with what is going on with the Kimmie portion of the brand, you can always check in at She's Kimmie for up to the minute news!

Wearable Wednesdays: NYFW SS12 ~ Theia

Don O

I have 3 go to designers when I need a dress with pop whether it's for Day or Night - Natori (who dresses me for a number of Fashion Weeks including the current one that starts officially tomorrow), David Meister (you can check me out rocking one of his pieces in October's issue of Cosmo and on their Facebook page) and Theia. The reason is simple all the designers are multigenerational (meaning from your 20's + they ensure the person wearing them rocks great style while also being able to be comfortable, have gorgeous fabrics and it hides the items that we know is there or we believe is there that we don't want others to see. Without them, dressing becomes tough! When I travel or have an appearance, these are my go to's.

Although NYFW starts tomorrow, there are those that get in a little early on the action so on a not so rainy but definitely not sunny day, I found myself in the Fashion District prepping to see Theia. This line is always Grecian inspired and the goddess muse for this collection (as told and commentated by Don O'Neill, Creative Director and dashing guy all around) was Chloris the Goddess of Flowers, Nature and Spring. Below are some of the dresses that I am obsessed over from Day Dresses, Gowns and Red Carpet stunners. There's ruching, glitter, glam and diva all over it which Kittens know is my fave! For those following my Tumblr account, you can also see some other peeks that I took in real time to get your fashion fix started!

Snazzy Sundays ~ Green Your Decor

This time next week I will be in the early stages of tackling New York Fashion Week for yet another amazing season. This year, it is taking new significance since in addition to seeing shows, going to after parties and lounges - I will be previewing my Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12 collection at the Robert Verdi Luxe Lab. This is a time where a number of industry will see one of the various projects that I have been working on as well as to get gifted in my line! It's such an exciting time and one that I have been looking forward to! For those that will not have the opportunity to come by, I had to sneak out one of my fave pieces that I designed! The leathers for all my shoes are phenomenal but I love this fresh take off of a typical penny style and this gorgeous green/blue antiqued hue. Known as the Cabana, it's the ultimate slip on and go shoe with a thin sole. I'll keep you in the loop on all the shoes that are being showcased and when I can share with you Fall 12, I definitely will!

This shoe's hue was the inspiration behind the assortment included within today's spread. I have always been a fan of this hue whether it's a votive from Anthropologie, a seat from Neiman Marcus or my personal fave - pieces from Horchow! If you're hitting the tents and everything in between, make sure to rest up as there are plenty of surprises coming from all directions when it comes to one of the biggest Fashion Week events!

Trendy Thursdays ~ My Beauty Musts

I'm heading home to NYC after being in Tampa/St Petersburg/Clearwater for my appearances earlier this week on HSN! With Labor Day weekend coming up, the summer went by way too fast! With that said, there was a lot of travel, meetings, events and so much more. It meant that although I always look my best, I had to take it to another level Enjoy the clip of one of my segments that I did talking about Sebago's Fall line on HSN! I'm rocking SBS (Smart by Style) which I became the face of and which you will see for Spring 12. But equally important is my love for fab brows (thank you Shobha), having a dazzling white smile courtesy of Crest 3D White - as well as rocking nails courtesy of Polished Beauty Bar. In addition there are a number of lotions, scrubs and more that I use! Next week is New York Fashion Week which means tons of shows, participating in Fashion Night Out with Ted Rossi meet and greets at Robert Verdi's for my Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12, my 4th anniversary party for Kitten Lounge, it's my birthday and so much more. All of this will take place within a nine day period but at least my skin will look phenom! Of course, accessory wise you''ll see me rocking Virgins, Saints and Angels and Ted Rossi.

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Hugo Boss

We're getting closer to September's New York Fashion Week which will showcase Spring/Summer 2012. But right now, we take a look back to July when Hugo Boss' runway show took place at Mercedes Benz's Berlin Fashion Week. I love the accessories and especially the bags that they wore as they hit the runway! Take some time to catch the blues, greys and blacks in terms of fab items that you're favorite guy can wear soon!

Mingling Mondays ~ Bring on NYFW Looks

As you're reading this, I'm prepping in the studios of HSN to share with you fab style that's perfect for summer transitions and fall a la Sebago! If you're up check me out at 7am as well as again on 11am today! Then tune in tomorrow at 5am to see me again! While I am here in Tampa/St Petersburg/Clearwater, I am fully focused on New York Fashion Week as well! There are so many fun looks that I can't wait to wear at the shows, after parties and other appearances that are going on! I am OBSESSED with Cut25 by Yigal Azrouel. This short dress has all my fave finds combined into one - it's grey, ruched dress and a one shoulder effect. This look is completed with other fun shades of grey! Sethi Couture has a phenomenal diamond moonstone ring which is the perfect one to wear when you're out and about. Pair this up with Giuseppe Zanotti as I am a huge fan of these python peep toe pumps (having this in black and grey is an essential). Finish it off with a fab bracelet by Alexander McQueen and Jimmy Choo Candy Clutch which is such a must as it will look phenom with everything!

Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Karl Lagerfeld at Macy's

Karl Lagerfeld is phenomenal without question and you can't think of the Chanel runways now without thinking of him. His talented eye has also been included within a number of other fun collections and next Wednesday, "The Kaiser" will launch Impulse Only at Macy's which will be available at select Macy's as well as on Macys.com. Today I'm flying out to HSN so I wanted to leave you with fab video of him behind the scenes doing what he does best - sketching, commenting and seeing his vision on models! I enjoyed checking out the collection a few days ago and this is yet another perfect way to spend the day whether you're staying indoors braving Irene or waiting for the runways of New York Fashion Week to begin.

Mingling Mondays ~ NYFW Style

This time next week I will be tackling 2 shows on Mon and one show on Tues on HSN. I love heading down to Tampa and seeing the people who work behind the scenes to make the shows happen while also hanging out with the show hosts. As excited as I am about this, I'm also thinking about the fact that I am that much closer to New York Fashion Week. Each day more invites come in for shows, parties and more - which means that there are more outfits that I need to co-ordinate for my looks. With that said, I have a few cocktail events that I am focusing on as well as creating and am OBSESSING over Emerson Thorpe who has super cute tunic style dresses and tops that are perfect for tackling fashion's key event in NYC. Since it's always about my accessories, I'm loving ElaineTurner's calf hair clutch - I adore large envelope clutches. I also love the hair calf trend which is fab for texture and that pop to truly make your piece stand out as a conversation element. Pair this with LeVian's Strawberry Gold Diamond Ring for the unexpected and a fab pair of neutral YSL's ultra high double platform pumps - your set!

Trendy Thursdays ~ My Travel Bag

Like many of you, my mind is in pre-New York Fashion Week mode. But prior to that, there are so many options that I have to think about and prep for. In a few days, I will be back in Tampa for my 3 appearances on HSN as Sebago's spokesperson. There are so many things that travel with me in terms of beauty and there are items that have to come along with me in my bag. Now many of these items are things that you can find in my bag everyday. To start with, I'm lusting after Lena Erziak's amaze grey Brad bag! I love that it has that great zipper detailing in the front with a large tassel. This would definitely be something that I would rock running in the city while also heading to JFK.

In my bag are some of my obsessions. I am a HUGE fan of Dior products (even prior to hosting an event at Bloomingdale's in conjunction with Dior Beauty) so my lashes are always primed with Dior Show Maximizer which goes on white and then dries. Then, I apply Dior Show Mascara as I love making them look larger than life. Recently, I fell in love with Anastasia Hydrafull Gloss (especially in Moi). The biggest thing that attracts me to the gloss in addition to the color is the applicator which is not a brush but a stick - I have even used it at shoots. Laura Geller's Baked Glow has been one of the things that I have loved for years and I have a few of her eyeshadows as well. So the idea of having it as a body frosting for those subtle hints of flair - amazing. Finally, it's always a good idea to ensure that you're shine free, I am a huge fan of Boscia's Green Tea Blotting Linens which are super slim! This is the perfect way to navigate any city and to have your beauty booty traveling with you at all times.

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Rocks Less

We're only a few weeks from NY Fashion Week and as you've noticed, each week there has been a post or two including runway shows from this summer that we loved and brought to share with you. The runways are all about the environment as a whole from the models that rock it, to the commotion in general and of course who happens to be at the show themselves. AT Diesel's Mercedes Benz Miami Swim Fashion Week show this past July, not only did their runway have men and women rocking the best of summer looks but Theophilus London, musician (who I met in DR while designing my Kimmie Smith x Sebago Fall 12 collection - he is sitting on the far right with the hat), attended the show with a number of football players who were sprinkled throughout as well. When it comes to the summer, less is more without a doubt and his style definitely works within that mantra.

Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Back to Basics with Dolce & Gabbana

Second to looking at a man's accessories, I do look at his pants. Pants, shorts etc are super important and I feel that they say a lot! Some of my boyfriend's favorite shorts are cargos although traditionally, I'm not a fan of them but I adore that he has a super cute pair of camo ones. So in that vein and since we're getting through August and thinking of the upcoming New York Fashion Week - (here in a few weeks) I had to reach back to June when Dolce and Gabbana hit the runway with their men's collection. They definitely got back to basics with simple tanks and shorts, plaid bottoms and a see through look which is perfect for jetting around resorts and shopping in town!

Mingling Mondays ~ Santorini Style

Yesterday I closed out July heading to the Javits Center to check out a number of apparel, intimate and accessories brands at a massively large series of shows. I was inspired, excited and pooped! Now that we are in August, there are a number of things that go on this month that are in an effort to have a truly successful NY Fashion Week experience for Team Kitten Lounge! But in addition, with my upcoming collab launches, fab media push and events - things are just a bit more amped up then usual. The next few weeks is a serious push that I am super excited about and it's also the hottest part of the summer here in NYC! I'm already thinking of post Fashion Week which always involves phenomenal massages to end out 9 hard core days but I am also making sure that by the time I have come down from the fashion and last trade shows of Sept that Paul and I can say that we are hopping on a flight to Santorini!

I have never been but the images alone have given me such peace that I do believe that this season it must be a reality. Although I travel to a number of locations some of them being super exotic, it's not a vacation and if I revealed the last time I went on one, it would be too shameful to even admit! As always, it's all about the outfits, I definitely would want to rock an amazing bikini (love Matthew Williamson) that's super simple and can be paired with a kaftan. With these accessories from Noir, Alexis Bittar and Virgins, Saints and Angels I would definitely be in my element! Everyone needs bling even when it's time to relax. Of course, a simple pair of sandals from Christian Dior is a must! Only a few more weeks and then I'll be in holiday mode!>/p>

Mingling Mondays ~ Beautify in Comfort

I'm always doing something in terms of getting a spa treatment or some level of beauty maintenance. I work out, spa from home or whatever my schedule allows for but there are those days from time to time where the whole day is built around "Beautifying" which means everything happens to take place on the same day. As many of you know, this is the first time since last June that I will have had about 6 - 8 weeks where there is no travel scheduled for me and I can actually enjoy being in the city (of course I will still be in meetings but at least I'm not jumping on a flight every few days - unless my schedule gets tweaked). It allows me to take some personal time, focus on prep that needs to happen for upcoming New York Fashion Week and just enjoy not being in transit. Getting back from a successful stint in DR last week, I began booking my threading, Turkish Hammam treatment (Trump Soho), hair appointment and mani/pedi (Polished Beauty Bar) and decided that Monday was the day. I'll kick it off with some yoga and cardio, do some light shopping, nibble a bit and just enjoy the day from the inside out!

With that said, I need an easy look so today it's all about the maxi (no shocker there and Anthropologie is always a good place to start when you're thinking of dresses), super easy shoes that allow me to move but are slightly elevated from rocking my Havaianas (which I am prone to do when I truly want to be comfy) and some fantastic accessories. I love mixing sweet and edgy so I am in LOVE with Pamela Love's ring which definitely makes the eye take notice and I love the bib necklace with it's vibrant Carnelianesque tones in Agate (another Anthropologie winner)! Perfect day to be out and about and to continue to de-stress!
