Last night, I made my way down to Duane Reade's Look Boutique 40 Wall St location as Christine Tsang of Tineey.com was one of the bloggers hosting this event as she is apart of their VIP Blogger Program. This location is housed in what was a bank which is why it's such an expansive space with fabulous archways. In addition to being able to shop for many of your favorite brands, there are products that are exclusive to Duane Reade Look Boutique such as Gosh Cosmetics (Denmark based and very popular in Europe; however it is exclusive to Duane Reade in terms of being in the US). In addition, they have an eyebrow station, lash station, hair salon (blow outs, wash - this isn't for a color or other types of intensive treatments, nail salon (polish change and with OPI and Essie products). I love that the nail salon area is actually housed in what was Davd Rockefeller's office which still has the mantle that is original to the space. In addition, there are Swarovski Chandeliers throughout the Look Boutique and even in the fireplace of David Rockefeller's former office!
It was a great event to see what Duane Reade is doing within their stores regardless of whether it's a Look Boutique or a regular store. Definitely check out these special stores as they are sprinkled throughout the city and even your local Duane Reade may have unique options that will make your day to day a lot easier.
When people see me out and about they know that I'm all over the place whether I'm at an event, writing posts on Kitten Lounge, working on my new jewelry line, etc. They always ask how I get so much done and how I'm able to continue working on new things! I don't know how to answer that but I will let you in on a little secret. I can't take a vacation everytime that I would like to; however, I do try to take some downtown. I'm not going to lie, I can't stay away from work for too long but I'm trying to conquer that as much as possible.
This week my post was on Coach's website, I learned a lot about what's going on with my jewelry line which will not debut in July 2010 but will in Jan 2010 and I'm always working on something. It's SO cold outside so today it's about some items that I would like to get that are not only fashionable but a way for me to take a breather. I know that Uggs are on some people's "Over It" list but when it's cold out, I would rather have my feet in these shoes and you can still look super cute when you're at the coffee shop or running errands. When you have down time, don't feel like you can't throw them on! I have two toys I'm excited about. I will be getting the My Touch as I'm on Tmobile (so sad to see you go BlackBerry Pearl) and I love Dell's collaboration with Opi. If you're a fan of this fab line of nails, you'll love having a laptop that reflects your favorite shade! I think this is awesome and for those of us that are attached to our laptops, it will give us a little something to look forward too!
I'm a reality TV show girl. Yes I love watching the drama but at the same time, I spend a lot of time working on projects and I need to have noise in the background where it's not essential that I'm watching something every second in order to follow along with the story. But every now and then I feel bad that I have never seen an episode of Mad Men so I'm telling myself that I must get the first season and break it up a little to see what everyone loves about it! I love the outfits and I know the general content so that will be nice to learn more about! Take some time to check out these great finds and start getting excited about the weekend!
09/15/09: Singer Estele, actor Mickey Rourke and model Cheyenne Tozzi attends the Max Azria...
Max Azria Look Fashion Week Spring 2010
I love the awesome suit! Every now and then you want to wear something like what hit the runways of Max Azria yesterday; however, you have to make it hot! As Kelly Rowland and Mickey Rourke watched one design after another, I couldn't help but think about fab ways to dress up this look! I love the long layered necklace! If you opt to wear something without a shirt under it, wearing multiple chains will allow you to feel comfortable and stylish (no wardrobe malfunctions for you to worry about). I would also pair everything with a large cocktail ring with Onyx. What a c lassical look but if you happen to be in Sephora, you should check out Opi's Dark Room nail color. I love that this is actually green; however, it's so dark that it appears to be black! I love this affect and definitely think this is a must for all closets!
