I love the summer season which begs for you to rock feminine looks as you grab lunches that last way longer than two hours or for an extended day of shopping. Whether you're opting to play hooky from the office or are doing your own staycation, this is such a cute look that anyone can rock with a spring in their step. Anthropologie's crisp white with citrus flower market accents are perfect for the summer season. Pair it with Ranjana Khan's fab bib necklace, Tory Burch's Miniaudiere made out of rattan and Burberry's chic espadrille.
I'm all about everyone pushing it to the next level and although this month is in the support of women, today is International Women's Day. This global day celebrates women who were making advances in every category in terms of social, political and economical areas. Everyone that is out there today whether you work at a company or run your own is doing something to add to this creative scope. Throughout the day, if you're following me @Cocoabebe, you'll see me shout out women who I know who are doing amazing things and that you should be following with the hashtag #KLIWD. Of course at Kitten Lounge, I had to share my love and support for those in fashion so today's spread is dedicated to all those women who kick booty everyday and make their voice heard so that the next little girl who wants to be whatever can and will! Above are designers and CEO's of brands that I admire. I have either met them, work closely with their team or have had tweetversations with them! With such trailblazers as Nicole Miller (ensures that we look modern and are always on another level - she knows her style), Nancy Gonzalez (python accessory designer who is always on trend and is never afraid of color), JImmy Choo (Tamara Mellon knows how to create a company and keep women buzzing about the fabulous brand and doing it all in stilettos) and Ranjana Khan (creating fab over the top pieces that I drool over everytime I am in Bergdorf Goodman we're not only in amazing fashion hands but we know that we can make our mark and see it coming and going!
Rachel Zoe looking fab with her baby bump and hubby Roger, stop by Spanx's Red Carpet Booty Bus that took place during the weekend of and on the day of the Oscars!
Yesterday we talked about shapewear being looked at in a new way. When I thought about shapewear a few years ago, I thought about under clothing that ensured that you looked great in your clothing but I never thought about it in terms of having a sex factor. The fact of the matter is that many times when you're wearing your shapewear, you also want to make sure that when you step out of that fab dress, if you're still in an "all eyes on me" situation, you still look amazing! When you're visiting Spanx's site, you realize that they not only have the typical slips that come to mind but they have strapless, one shoulder, tops, bathing suits and so much more! I can't believe how much they have thought about women to provide function, options and a sexy appeal!
Last weekend, Spanx had an amazing Booty Bus that rolled into town gifting and getting such celebs as Rachel Zoe (looking fab and did you know that they have shapewear for mommies to be too) and her hubby Roger at their suite. Celebs were educated and gifted but anyone who knows that they need to be slimmed whether it's something that you always do or only as needed when you're not feeling/looking 100% know that Spanx does what it does well. At Kitten Lounge, we had to take it to the next level for situations that you may have another set of intimate eyes on you. This strapless Spanx ensemble is perfect to pair with your favorite peep toe Louboutins as well as a fab necklace to complete the look.
Each year, I have two looks that I go through and within those looks, I definitely show my sense of style in each one. During the spring summer and the spring I love more of that boho chic feel. It's a fun way for me to embrace my inner Ali McGraw in many ways. But in the winter and the fall I love to go back to classics that I grew up on. I love the whole preppy with a twist (my twist being massive accessories). I love plaid skirts, the kilt effect and I love oxford shirts. Growing up, I was all about loafers so when I flipped through Elle's September issue and saw these loafers, I knew that I had to have these as I love the pop factor that's in it. To complete this look, why not an amazing necklace from Ranjana Khan to show that you're not stuffy! Whether you rock this with fun knee socks, stockings or bare legged - how cute will you look?
Where would I wear this look? I would wear this for Fashion Week, Editor's appointments and so much more. It's also perfect to wear when you're going out with friends after work and once again, it's always camera ready. Rock this iconic look and tailor it to your needs but whatever you do, it will look timeless and effortless! I'm already thinking about Miami Swim Fashion Week. Although the dates haven't been set, it's one of the Fashion Weeks that I tend to be unable to go to - until this year! Nothing is better than running from show to show in beautiful settings and having guaranteed gorgeous weather. I live for dresses like the one that Nicole Miller has above and due to so much color, I love having my accessories maintain the black theme with pops of their own color. Ranjana Khan has a gorgeous beaded necklace that is perfect for this dresses' neckline. If you feel a bit bare wearing something so deep, thinking of having a necklace that takes up some of the space so you're not so visible! The cuff by Robert Wan is not only a wide cuff but I love the pearls that pop out of it as if you're emerging from the see and to cap it off, I love the chunky ring by Iosselliani which has such a raw element to it! Together, you're decked out whether you're attending a show or a Hamptons pool party!
Forget that the weather is a bit gross, better days are ahead. I'm all about infusing your look with a bit of nautical - it's a classic trend! I love this Seafarer Cardigan by Forever 21 - you can never go wrong with navy and white, pair it with a tank and pair it with jeans. Because the cardigan drapes nicely, I love the fact that you can pair it with this chunky chain necklace by, Ranjana Khan Jewelry that has a bit of the silver, gunmetal and black mixed in together. I am such a fan of the dramatic pieces that are created by Ranjana Khan (wife of none other than equally dramatic, designer Naeem Khan). You hardly need anything else to go with it; however, you know you can never go wrong without a cute ring full of Swarovski Crystals!
