Easter is a few days away and the first post today gave you a peek into what my Easter basket is like for those who come by. Now, I want to share a fab look for when you're all gathering around the table whether it's going out for brunch, having dinner or beverages. Growing up, Easter meant ruffled socks dresses with a lot of bows and of course the perfect hat and Mary Janes to bring it all together. Thankfully, I have long left those days and prefer my version of rocking the perfect outfit.
THE LOOK
With it being Easter, the one styling element that I do like tying is the fact that Easter reminds me of pastels and vibrant color. When I wear lighter hues, I love pairing them with darker ones and you know that grey is my favorite color to wear. Mint has been a powerful color and trending very well over the past few seasons and when I decide to wear this, it would be in this very manner. I love something easy as I find myself on this day running around, checking on things that are going on and sharing what's new in my world. As many of you know, I'm a Tablet Crew member and was sent a Samsung Tablet to share how I use it in my day to day life. Whether it's doing my workouts, passing time on my flights in countless airport terminals or letting family members scroll through some sneak peeks of what I have coming up with a number of campaigns, this is definitely going to be put to great use this weekend.

I am always a fan of Rebecca Minkoff! I love that she has this edgy style with boho chic whimsy! By far, I fell in love with this look - mainly because of the pants, such a chic look!
Today through Monday, you'll find out about my Meet and Greet appearances which took place as I am a Brand Ambassador for Crest! Crest and a number of P&G brands were apart of the My Black is Beautiful Booth. Attendees were able to get makeovers and to interact with Olay, Crest, Gain, Cover Girl and Pantene. As a Celebrity Accessories Expert, I gave on ths spot styling tips and share why a great accessory always includes a great white smile! Of course, when I left for this trip, I knew that I had to have my basics for any kind of travel with my amazingly gorgeous, Linea Pelle tote (which I have to say that it even took my laptop which is not pictured here) Daisy Tote in Scotch (the side detailing is perfectly boho). Inside is very roomy and of course I am never without my Moo Cards which has various, pictures of me included on one side and my info on the back, when I travel I always have a Life & Style as well as an Us Weekly, sunscreen, Moleskin notebook , Rebecca Minkoff change purse, a smaller Linea Pelle purses which are great for a number of uses - the smaller one held quick casg and the larger one held my camera, Sony Bloggie and sometimes my cellphone and I love my beaded Moyna zipped bag with the fabulous eye on the front as it houses my SwarovskiHello Kitty mirror. In addition, I always have my passport on my as well as the nail polish I happen to be wearing (Butter London) and my Jimmy Choo python and leather wallet is always with me as well!
I love having a larger tote when you're doing a number of appearances and traveling as this bag is super accessible and with the rolled straps, it doesn't dig into your arm and this is such a fab color that you can rock with a number of looks.
Theophilus London closes Rebecca Minkoff NYFW FW 2012/2013
I love hitting the shows as you never know what you are going to get! As many of you know, Theophilus London is everywhere and I hung out with him this past summer while designing in Dominican Republic and enjoyed one of his concerts as well! Well, yesterday he opened and closed the Rebecca Minkoff show which was full of fun motorcycle jackets and great pieces you will want to rock later on this year
When I'm out and about, people notice that I rock the exotics everyday. I have my python satchel bag, iPad case and matching coin/key zip all from Rebecca Minkoff, my Jimmy Choo wallet, Ziordia python passport holder (this was a phenomenal bag brand that is no longer available but I love it) and so much more! I think it's so important to have that pop especially as we go into outerwear weather when you need these accessories to show your personal style!
With that being said here are some of my faves that I know are awesome to rock regardless of season. Gucci has a phenomenal hobo bag that embodies one of my favorite motifs - Marrakech. I love Marc Jacobs' fun green python cosmetic case which adds a nice color within your bag and can be worn even when it is not the spring season. I'm LOVING this richly burgundy wallet that contains python as well as calfskin by Jerome Dreyfuss - love the embellishment on here as well which is a nice touch. When you're traveling all your documents will be secure with Rebecca Minkoff . Passing out business cards gets luxe when Bottega Veneta comes out of your bag. Finally, keep it mobile with this gorgeous iPad case from one of my fave online boutiques, Luisaviaroma which will have your travel companions take a second look at what you're up to.
I start my days during NYFW checking to see how my schedule needs to be updated as there are always invites that come in, media lounges to attend and a few other appearances that I am asked to go to. I spend the days prior to Fashion Week lining up my closet with items that will be perfect for all these events as my days send me running from tents and this season I will be launching my line as well. But no matter what, I have my basics that get me through the 9 days of madness. Some items are my tried and true such as my Cocoa Butter which keeps my skin enriched and soft, I also love my NARS Body Glow which gives a nice hue and my Urban Decay 24/7 as I believe in black eyeliner. Now I have an entire new arsenal series of beauty products that are a must and will carry me through this season.
I love love love M.A.C.'s Semi Precious Mineralize Eyeshadow which is a nice way to add a little something to my eyes, I fell in love with NP Set after listening to Napoleon Perdis show a small group of us his new made for Target collection before I went off to HSN and of course I have been a fan of Coach Poppy Fragrance so now having the rollerball that has their new scent in there as well as the previous one is always nice to refresh me between shows.
When it comes to my accessories, I can never go wrong with any of the Virgins, Saints and Angels rings as it's a great way to add wow factor to my hands (since I gesture a lot and they look amazing in pictures), I'm also all about stilettos and am obsessed with Vince Camuto at the moment especially anything that is studded (doesn't matter if I'm in leggings or if I am in a super cute dress) and finally Rebecca Minkoff's M.A.B. in python is the cutest satchel that can allow me to take all of my goodies along with me and yet remain so stylish!
Last night, I was back at the showrooms of UGG Australia to preview portions of their fall collection. I always love a night with fab footwear and handbags, great wine and nibbles and times to catch up as I never know when I will be traveling again! Above Felicia, myself, Megahan, Jordan and Katy posed as we were chatting up who knows what! In the midst of the rain we had a great night and I fell in love with two pairs of shoes that are an absolute must in my closet! Finally, people always ask what I'm wearing when I'm running around in terms of accessories so yesterday I picked my massive amount of charm bracelets that have been my signature this summer and I rocked two rings from Virgins, Saints and Angels, a Ted Rossi cuff and loving my Rebecca Minkoff bag! In his world, the concept of 9 - 5 doesn't exist as a potential business option can take place at any moment, thus he must be ready. His office could be at home, walking through the UWS on his iPhone or sitting in his favorite deli waiting for the Godfather sandwich! His Style reflects the changing times and if business can be done anywhere, why not merge pleasure and work together? With the outdoor smoking band, you're less likely to see him smoking a cigar in Central Park but perhaps he's in the Carnegie Club enjoying a cigar as he works from his iPad (they have wifi there). Being a fan of Rebecca Minkoff's python studded case (love it and use it all the time), it's only fitting that he rocks a stealth camoBen Minkoff case. Bringing a full supply of cigars or just having this case from Brooks Brothers on the off chance that he may purchase a new find at the Club is always a good idea. Work and play have merged so why not have a fedora to cap of the look a la Tommy Bahama and everything can be casually be carried away in this fab Burberry bag!
Whether you do a lot of travel or you are simply grabbing items as you head out the door, I have some phenom essentials. The day before any trip is hectic for me, tomorrow I'm jetting off to "the beautiful Dominican Republic" which is said by every stewardess as we are moments from landing. Although I hear the weather has been rainy in Santo Domingo, I'm hoping that Sun is gorge since it's the only day I won't be working as the factory is closed. Then Mon - Wed, I will be designing my Kimmie Smith x Sebago Fall 12 collection (my third collection with them). I was just there in May designing my Spring 12! As you know, I travel each month whether it's heading to do another segment on HSN, a press trip, designing shoes and meeting with my brands so I have my system down to a science! With that said, I will pack my bags today but I always have last minute packing that goes into my large purse.
Earlier this week, I attended the holiday show and fell in love with Lug Life is all about keeping you organized for the day, overnight, in fitness, for moms and when traveling. They have a phenom Clipper Flat Iron Case which allows you to curl your hair and slip it in one of many color cases so that it can cool and that it can leave with you without you worrying about waiting for it to cool down. You only have precious minutes before your car service gets a little testy that you're delayed! Of course I have many cosmetic bags and many do go in my luggage as typically, I carry it on the plane but I always have the items that I use that morning in my bag. I'm loving Bottega Veneta's cosmetic case which is luxe and so essential as I do my perfected eye and head out the door. I carry Rebecca Minkoff with my everyday whether it's her fab key python studded case (love), her matching iPad cover (LOVE) and when I travel I always have her MAC bag in my luggage! But I also love her Lunch Money Pouch which is cute but I put a few extra dollars in here to give out tips as I'm going in and out of airports, hotels and when I am buying my guilty pleasures (Life & Style, Us Weekly etc). Finally, as an Accessories Expert, you know it's always about my bags and everything goes into something luscious. My bag of the moment, it's got to be about MJ! I wear his oversized sunglasses in a number of hues and I have always been about Marc Jacobs bags as well - this is a bit bling with the accessory on the bag, the textured patent leather and the fact that all this and more can be stored in here as I make my way to the car to head to Terminal 5!
As you read this, I'm leaving NYC for a few days to head to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic to design my second Sebago collaboration titled, Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12! With me heading to the beach (you know I have to get some in between the work), I can't leave my guys high and dry as we're in the second and last week focusing on Spring Break 2011! He looks phenom and any color can be his color when it's worn with confidence. He also loves accessorizing and dabbling! So we're loving when he rocks purple (it's a regal color) and with paisley to boot! When he hits the beach he does it in style and a man in leather is one that we can't deny! So as he rocks his Etrom make sure that he rocks two other leather goods that I'm loving right now! Tod's is more than just fabulous women's shoes line and this Charity Bracelet is fab and if he opts to leave it behind, you have something amazing that you can wear with your bikini instead! Tuesday was a super jammed pack day with Mauboussin as well as the Mother's Day Tweet Up with the Accessories Council, I sent team Kitten Lounge over to Rebecca Minkoff's showroom for a nice evening of hanging out with Keiko Lynn as well as seeing the inaugural lookbook that she styled and appeared in for R&Em! It was a night of creating floral arrangements, seeing the line and of course enjoying champagne. See the fab collection and begin to think spring and summer with these fresh looks!
We cotinue to look at brands that are reaching out to assist Japan and although you know that we love Palmer Cash tees but you know that we are also a huge fan of Rebecca Minkoff as well. Earlier this week, on Facebook and on Minkette, the above image came out showing that Rebecca Minkoff would donate $100 from each sale of her red bags to the Red Cross! If you've always wanted an excuse to pop in some red love, now is the time to do it without question. I'm loving this look as it's perfect to travel in and to enjoy lunch at an outdoor cafe!
It's been a week but this time last week I was getting ready to head to Austin for SXSW. Little did I know that Japan had a major catastrophe hit it with a tsunami AND an earthquake. Saturday morning I sat in my hotel with my boyfriend reading about the events and how people helped. Those attending the SXSW conference came together and such groups as SXSW4Japan were created to support. As news continued to spread, I know my sister and I reached out to our friends and colleagues to ensure that they were ok and without question, my thoughts and prayers are with everyone that is there and those who have people out there. My sister, boyfriend and friends travel their frequently and to know that something like that happened is mind numbing!
In the midst of the tragedy, we are aware of organizations that are providing 100% of funds to help the people of Japan. There are also those in the fashion community that are either doing the same or providing a portion of the funds to be apart of the efforts. Kitten Lounge is not in the debate on whether one should opt to support the Red Cross or whether you should purchase an item knowing that proceeds will be made available. It is our belief that whatever way you choose to support and where your heart feels the most comfortable is the best way! I am super excited! It seems like I have been talking about it forever but I woke up to 20 degree weather here in NYC and by later this afternoon, I will be rocking in 75 degree temperature and relaxing in my hotel room waiting for my HSN air date on Wed 23rd for my 2am, 7am and 3pm slots! It's another project with Sebago and I will take you through their cute collection that has been curated for their premier appearance! I no longer carry my Travel Cow Mookie with me when I fly, starting this year, I have Chompy the alligator who is apart of the beanies collection. Something whimsical to calm me down. My iPad is protected by my Rebecca Minkoff cover (and I love my matching coin purse). My laptop is also with me for items that can't necessarily be done on the iPad. I still keep it retro with a stack of magazines (and my need to scour through West Elm with a new apartment to furnish). I even have a little black book for quick topics to jot down, my lip balm that never fails me and of course a small assortment of product in my cosmetic bag - all FAA approved in terms of their size! Of course, I still have my iPod with me (charging) as well as my HTC phone so I am all set and teched out! So far the show that has given me goosebumps and swoonfests from start to finish would be - Rebecca Minkoff! You know that I am a fan of her accessories (I've been working from my iPad this Fashion Week and of course it is protected by her Python Black case with gold beading and I love my matching coin purse) and when she added apparel and shoes, I was definitely all over her boho chic sensibilities as well! Yesterday I tweeted throughout the show talking about all the looks that I loved with shades of grey, green, black, cream and of course fur and amazing outerwear. Now I have to say that the ones above are my favorite look. Guaranteed, you'll see me in this shearling with fab cigarette pants (which is what she focused on a lot with this collection) and I love that as dark as this dress is, it's see through - phenom!
It's a good thing we ate our Fashion Wheaties which was the equivalent of coffee, beverages and a few nibbles here and there! There was much to take on for Friday and at this point, our favorite show ended up being Rebecca Minkoff - deets to come later on today! Last night er enjoyed a number of parties and attended gifting suites as well which is always a fun way to hang out with friends. But of course, we're at today. We'll focus on doing some brunch and then taking a look at fab jewelry in a presentation and then ending the night at Cocktails and Couture.

It's a lazy day but it's all about football whether you're into the game or you're coming to enjoy some fabulous nibbles. I love fall Sundays as it's always all about cozying up with cardigans. I have been rocking Ann Taylor Loft's necklace over the past few days and love that it has a mix of chunky chain and the bling that I enjoy wearing. This week, I've also enjoyed being around Rebecca Minkoff and her collection so how can you not have one of her super cute hobos! Finally pair the fab accessories with a pair of skinny jeans (or jeggings) and add in a cozy sweater!

Generally when you see me out and about I have my MAC foundation, bronzer from Laura Gellar and then eyeliner from Urban Decay's 24/7 collection - always in the Zero hue. But when I travel, I like to mix it up a bit and add a little more into my look. Whether I'm traveling for fun or am on business (yes designing is still super serious), it's nice to add pops into my routine just to switch things up. I even have a special case that I carry new items in just so that I know. I'm a huge fan of Dior Show's Mascara. I see that more and more I like wearing Mascara even in my normal routine from time to time. I love Sue Devitt! She has a Kiliamanjaro collection that is in hues of purple so her Green Isle collection is perfect as we transition into the fall (although I am currently in the DR soaking up some sun) and then there's a new fave when I'm out and about - Bare Escentuals Buxom in Dina. Not only do I get a pop of color but I get a great plumper as well which is just enough to notice that there is something different without making my lips look too huge. I feel that when you're away trying new looks allows you to have a little fun and when you're back to your normal routine, you can look at your pictures and decide what portions will go into your everyday!
Yes I just got back from Mexico late last night and anytime I travel, I have to spend a few days getting back into my mode. Now throughout this month, we're going to be featuring products for Breast Cancer Awareness. Today I'm keeping it chill and zen (this pic at an event this summer reminds of this state of mind) by enjoying a fab crisp Saturday and what better way to do it then to sit at home and enjoy a fabulous fragrance from Antica Farmacista with notes from peonia, gardenia and rose that can be infused within your home. In addition, the first thing I love to do when I'm home is that I love that I can do at home spa treatments. I think that looking fresh and feeling refreshed is essential and as your face is the first thing that people see when you're out and about, I love the lip scrub by Jane Iredale. On one end you can get the perfect pout with a plumper and on other end you have a brown sugar scrub that keeps your lips as soft as silk. This is essential as many scrubs come in pots or if it is in a tube, it is something you have to carry separate from your lip brand of choice - but being together is everything! Enjoy the fall and think about great products that you can enjoy that provide support, research and assistance to a breast cancer fighter and survivor!
Yesterday was my first time going to The Box. During NYFW although shows take place at Lincoln Center, there are various areas. If you go to The Stage you know it's a runway show that holds quite a bit of people. The Studio is event larger then The Stage and The Box is well a box. It's a place where the models stand on a platform and you move around the room to see the looks. It's an interesting way of presenting the line. I've loved Rebecca Minkoff's handbags since I can remember!
A few weeks ago, I got the chance to hang out with other bloggers at Rebecca Minkoff's space (gorg) to have tea, tea sandwiches, champagne, cookies etc and of course to hang out with her (she sat at my table and loved how cool she is) and to see the shoes that she was about to launch. Check out who was there by visiting Minkette, which is her blog to see it. It was so much fun and definitely made me excited to see the presentation that you will see in both videos!
I love leather and when done well it has that same power suit feeling that many wore back in the day with huge shoulder pads. Typically when I wear it, it may be a pair of pants or a skirt but when I saw this dress that was a mix of mod and a little nod to Tina Turner in Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome (she had something like this style on when she says "two men enter, one man leaves - ps this was overheard at an event last night as we brainstormed something fun that I pray actually happens, deets to follow and thanks for the quote @FashionStBeauty), I knew that this could be an amazing look for a night out, if you're hosting an amazing band release or anything where you want that mix of edge and femme to come together. I feel that this dress is so powerful that you have to continue with strong pieces and I am a huge fan of monotone (when done right of course).
I love the disco cuff which adds another edgy quality and is longer than the typical cuff. The dress is as much of an accessory as whatever you add into it which is a rarity. Love love love Miniaudiere's in general and this skin is so exotic and from Rebecca Minkoff (loved having tea time with her in her studio last night, follow up to come but Rebecca's so down to Earth and has a fab personality) - this is the perfect item to have nearby with your basic essentials. Finally, Tory Burch has a fab pair of hiking boots that's a mix of camp couture. The tassels are fun, the laces are epic and of course having the heel and coming up to the calf is a great look. Love the sexy vibe they send and there is another version of this shoe that is a taller boot that has a wrap detail that I'm also a huge fan so check out the site. Together this look is perfect for something that I am in total sync with Kimora on - finding a dress (or look) that is perfect for Global Domination, that's a fab mantra going into 2011!
The year has flown by and a lot has taken place since Feb 28th - a key date for myself as well as for Kitten Lounge! On this date, I hosted a shopping event at Tory Burch in the NoLita store and in many ways it was a turning point as I knew that that day unofficially, allowed Kitten Lounge to evolve along with benchmarks to grow the site! This came in the form of additional collaborations with such brands as Coach in their Fall MYNY campaign, attending some amazing press trips like Schick's Q Squad trip at the Delano in Miami, learning about the world of Maxxinistas, Avon's Lotus Shield and much more. In addition, I was able to take on such opportunities as contributing to Betty Confidential, becoming a spokesperson for a something many of us use every morning (deets soon) and going on HSN next year for a fab footwear brand and dare I say, to also collab with them to make a shoe line. If you asked me could I have planned this positive turn, I don't think that I could have! It takes a lot of people to make this work and with Kitten Lounge turning 3 in Oct, who knows what's around the corner - only my inbox has these secrets!
So it is with all of this that I look at this year's Fashion Week as something a little more special than usual. One, my birthday (Sept 12th) is always during this time and I feel that this portion of the year is when a lot of good things tend to kick in. Yes there is going to be the craziness that usually follows, running around, change of venue etc but I love making my lists. These lists involve shows and parties that I want to attend, coverage that I can provide for brands as well as placements that my site can receive. This year I will have a Men's Editor which is super exciting!
But with all that, my most important list is my personal checklist of what gets me through the day! My musts are my accessories and above are some key ones. First, I'm now obsessed with Neuro which has a super cute bottle but it's water that helps various items that you need whether it's to Sleep (this helped me a lot when I was in the midst of traveling), Bliss (it calms me down although I'm just a wee bit amped always) and much more! I think that I need to stockpile this water!
Beyond that, my necessities are large sunglasses - not only are they great in photo ops but when you hit those early shows and are heading out of the house, this is a must before you take your first sip of coffee! Although I have been sporting Marc Jacobs for awhile, I could definitely consider a pair like the ones from Roberto Cavalli Comfy heels are a must and on a completely not official poll, I've learned this summer that many of my fave editors and myself can't agree on the one heel that's super comfy. Some say Louboutin (not going to lie love how they look), Manolo's etc but I'm a Jimmy Choo girl. When I travel, I have a pair with me no matter what. So, it's a must that I find a pair that will work throughout the week for most of the outfits that I'll sport! Finally, the handbag - I carry a lot my Flip, mini laptop, notebook, etc. Although I may be carrying the amount of a baby elephant, I don't want to look that way. This cute bag from Rebecca Minkoff would allow me to wear it to whatever without any changing, which is a necessity as well!
