Another major winner on the red carpet in terms of "Best Dressed" is Sofia Vergara! Although many talk about how Sofia tends to stick to this body style and would like for her to change it up, I think people should stick to what works for them. This stunning black sequin dress from Michael Cinco looked fabulous when paired with Lorraine Schwartz floral jewelry.
Another key feature to her stunning look beyond her dress as well as her fabulous curvy figure - her hair! Jen Atkin, Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy Celebrity Stylist decided on a sleek look This is a great look when you're going out and of course, we have how you can recreate the look.
1. Always start with the right foundation and that means a nourished scalp and hair. Rinse and condition with CLEAR SCALP & HAIR BEAUTY THERAPY Damage & Color shampoo and conditioner for strong, beautiful hair that can hold any style
2. Next, blow dry hair straight with a Mason Pearson brush to keep the hair smooth and sleek
3. Once dry, use a flat iron only on the ends of hair – and not at the root – in order to keep the fullness throughout
4. Then gently mist hair with a shine spray to add gorgeous shine but not weigh hair down
5. Finish with a spritz of hair spray to tame fly-aways and give a moveable hold
ABC's Modern Family was a win before an award even went out (amazing that all the adults in this show were nominated with the show taking away an award for Outstanding Comedy for the second year in the row, wins for writing, directing and also for supporting actor and actress Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen) Sofia Vergara stunned on the red carpet in a chiffon custom dress Vera Wang. Not only was she wearing a vibrant coral color one-shouldered crepe gown with chiffon draping and tumbled tulle (which I have to say that although red is amazing, when you're walking a red carpet you may want to rethink that choice - interesting to see that it was a dominant color theme of the night) but her accessories were phenomenal. While I watched the red carpet coverage, I thought she had accessories by Columbian designers; however, it seems that she is rocking jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz Jewelry (I'll have to double check). She rocked Casadei heels and her makeup looked phenomenal.
Makeup artist Kayleen McAdams, worked her gorge look by using COVERGIRL (who sponsored Kitten Lounge's NYFW 4th Anniversary Cocktail Party) by starting with her face and using COVERGIRL Invisible Concealer in Honey which was place under her eyes and wherever else she needed it. Next, COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Foundation in Soft Honey (#255) was applied and set with COVERGIRL’s Clean Pressed Powder in Warm Beige (#145). To finish this base, Kayleen used COVERGIRL’s Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Plush Peach and set that cream blush with COVERGIRL’s Classic Colors Blush in Natural Glow.
The eyes truly allow Sofia to pop as the diva that she always is (I also love the prep that was used for this as I am a huge fan of the Queen collection. Kayleen used COVERGIRL Queen Collection 1-Kit Eyeshadow in Hot Toffee in the crease, COVERGIRL Liquiline Eyeliner in Black Fire along the top and bottom lash line, COVERGIRL Queen Collection 1-Kit Eyeshadow in Black Tie along the top and bottom lash line to set the eyeliner and completed this portion with COVERGIRL Lash Blast Volume mascara in Very Black. Finally, COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipcolor in Rapture (#280) was applied to give this perfect look that was red carpet ready.
Every award season coverage and looks are better than the previous one - which is always something that I hope for. As a whole, I'm glad to see the installation of the Stiletto Cam that took place on E's Red Carpet as well as everyone stepping it up so that accessories took a much bigger stage then they have in the past.
Congrats to Sofia who is having the launch of her line later on this week as well as to the cast of Modern Family. In addition, here are ways that you could achieve the accessories that Sofia did even if you don't have the connection of the phenomenal Columbian designers that Sofia wore - more deets on that (you'll see in today's post I am giving you an idea of how you can complete the look). As always, this post will be updated to let you know who she's wearing!
