We love red carpet appearances - all of the prep that goes into looking glam. How can you not love how Angela Sarafyan stuns on the red carpet! We're loving the cut outs and the peep effect that she wore during the GLSEN Respect Awards in Beverly Hills. To complete this look, we would have styled her with these Gianmarco Lorenzi heels which are patent open toe scultped heels, this brushed black cuff with python and gems from Ted Rossi and this cognac topaz ring from Konstantino!
Last week, I shared with you a little bit about Shoe Week, a shoe focused NYFW that will take place in addition to all the amazing activities that come to NY during Fashion Week! My co-founder and CEO of Shoe Week is Paul Farkas. Together we work on bringing brands together in a synergistic way and to maintain our vision of footwear and their related accessories counterparts to be prominently placed throughout all of our events. In addition to a number of footwear brands that will be included, I'm also please with our apparel and accessory brands such as Linea Pelle, Ted Rossi and former Project Runway contestant and fabulous runway designer, Althea Harper who will be hitting our Shoe Week Runway show at The Glass Houses! Stay in the loop by following us on Facebook and on Twitter!
Over the past few weeks, I have enjoyed sipping Alacran Tequila cocktails whether it's mixed with seltzer or cranberry. The black matte bottle contains white tequila which is very smooth. This bottle inspired this fab look which is one that you can see me rocking when I'm out and about. Start off with a fab pair of Rick Owens leggings which can be paired with a simple top such as this white and cream one by Elizabeth James. Rock bracelets with a large python bangle by Ted Rossi as well as another fave, Linea Pelle. I'm always known for my rings and this aquamarine Alexis Bittar and these fabulous blingtastic sling backs, Gianmarco Lorenzi. Together this look definitely embodies the nature of this fabulous bottle.
Last night, I kept my attention to my Twitter Feed to see how Laura Osnes did as she was nominated last night at the Tony Awards for her lead role in Bonnie & Clyde. Although she didn't take home an award, I was so pleased to be able to work with her during as she was our guest of honor as we launched, Accesshairize, a celeb focused event where myself and co-founder (Celebrity Hair Stylist and Beauty Blogger of Serafino Says.com) Kristan Serafino partnered with the James Bentley Salon to present her during our Red Carpet Moments theme. It was such an amazing night with sponsors including Victoria's Secret, Kaaral USA, Ted Rossi and Nina Handbags. In addition, attendees enjoyed, Georgetown Cupcake and Bartenura Wines.
Enjoy the montage of images from the night and see all the images from the night in our gallery of Accesshairize Red Carpet Moments! We're super excited to have been able to send Laura Osnes off on her way to her big night and we're equally excited to host our next event later on this month!
Today I did a fun photoshoot and rocked one of my new fave colors from ButterLondon, Chimney Sweep - a smoldering grey color with a bit of shimmer in it. I love all kinds of grey hues and this was super inspirational for today's look! I'm OBSESSED with maxi skirts and love this one by Tart which has stripes but I love that they are a little all over the place to give it a fun look. Keep it simple with a white tank from Anthropologie which is made of yarn and will keep you easy peesy breezy when you're running around!. Rock these gladiator sandals from Jimmy Choo and slip on this python gem ring by Ted Rossi! Finally, I'm loving this must have Max & Chloe. This is such a fab look and one that is perfect for a number of your summers!
Last night was such a great night! There's something about great ideas coming together! Although this is not the full recap, I had to share! About a week ago, Celebrity Hair Stylist, Kristan Serafino and Beauty Blogger of Serafino Says and I talked about life, business and everytihng in between. By the end of the conversation, we knew we wanted to create an event that had celebs, beauty and accessories! Within less than a week, Accesshairize was born! None of this would have been possible without our great partner and sponsor, the James Bentley Salon.
We honored Laura Osnes, the 2012 Tony Award Nominee (our fingers are crossed for her on her big night on Sunday at the TONY Awards) and we chatted all things beauty and accessories while hearing her talk about Broadway, her show Bonnie and Clyde as well as her upcoming role in Cinderella! More details will follow but thank you Bartenura for the fabulous Moscato which everyone enjoyed (and HUGE thanks to Peg Samuel of Social Diva and Stiletto Consulting for the connect). Huge shout out to Nina Handbags and Ted Rossi who have always been phenomenal partners of Kitten Lounge and have carried their support into Accesshairize! I'm glad that Kaaral beauty products and Victoria's Secret had fab spritzers AND we all nibbled on Georgetown Cupcakes that were TONY Award themed. Not to mention, that it came just in time to the season opening of Georgetown Cupcake's new series where they take on opening a shop here in NYC (watch it on TLC tonight at 9pm!).
We will have another post updating this event and we appreciate all who came and we're already planning on the next one!
Happy Memorial Weekend! As you read this I am heading back from Tampa to come home to NYC! I had a great weekend selling my Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12 on HSN. So now that I'm heading back home, it's time to think about rooftops, fun parties and more. I'm loving this maxi dress in colorblocked style in orange and bright pink by Tibi Slip on these amazing Ted Rossi wrappd cuffs to add depth to your look. Of course, it's all about fab bling with this Swarovksi ring and complete it with these leather sandals by Jimmy Choo!
A day filled with segments fly between being on air, doing some quick changes and getting in power naps in between! Today I rocked my favortie look - layered racerback tanks over leggings (and the second look had another series of layers with a cute blazer on top). I had a number of phenomenal accessories that rocked this look out which are Accessories Expert approved by me! I love my geode necklace that is outlined in gold by and my carnelian ring by Nugaard which is amazing. My large black ring by Ana Reign which is lovely in onyx. I love stacked pieces and although I had a Ted Rossi from their new collection which is python in pink and white. On my left, I stacked a Chan Luu wrap bracelet with two bracelets from Charriol thanks to the amazing team at Ross-Simons.
You can also see me holding one of various shoes I designed that hit the air today on HSN from my Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12 collection. Knowing that there was such a process in designing as well as mixed with my love for my numerous appearances on HSN - it was definitely an amazing day!
There is nothing nicer than a simple white dress and then of course to pop in fab accessories. What I love about this Kain dress is that it has dramatic elements from a keyhole back to the peeks of what we'll see when it comes to your shoes of choice! I'd definitely pair these simple L.K. Bennett flat leather sandals with this dress as it's a simple shoe as well as a fab color to change the tone of this look.
Pop in another fabulous red hue with this python cuff from one of my accessories designer's Ted Rossi. I'm also loving his white python clutch which is the perfect way to add a crispness to this look! Purchasing this cuff now through the end of June allows you to support the Ilya Peckerman Fund which benefits the Vasculitis Foundation which is a run by fellow Accessories Expert, Pamela Pekerman. I'm glad to know that a designer that both of us have a great admiration for is showing his support in the fight to support the research and education that is needed in order to uncover the cause of Wegener's Granulomatosis which is the disease that Pamela's father passed away from. I am all about shopping for a cause and you can find many other brands that are supporting her with the sale of their products by visiting the Shop4Vasculitis boutique. Sabina Les is another designer that both of us are huge fans of and I'm sso honored to call her a friend as well! Her gorgeous Circle Chain Scarf is also joining in the fight by allowing a percentage of it's proceeds to go towards the Shop4Vasculitis initiative - as it is Vasculitis Awareness Month. Complete this look with one of my fave brands, Dara Ettinger which is a sliced geode.
Happy May - we're finally locking into the time period where we definitely don't have to worry about these dips in temperature. Many of us have actually begun to dip into our summer wardrobes and we're not even looking back towards our winter gear. My love for maxi dresses has definitely encompassed the maxi skirt! I'm loving this fabulously striped pleated skirt from Alice and Olivia. When you wear something that not only has a number of colors as well as textures and movement, I like to create a little simplicity and love that this tank top from Club Monaco is the perfect item to pair with this skirt! I definitely want to pair a fun necklace with this look and Noir Jewelry has this fab bugle knot necklace has fun hues that are woven in. On you hand, this Dara Ettinger cocktail ring has a fabulous yellow hue which brings sunshine from your hand! Yellow picks back up in this look with my fave pair of sandals by none other than (shocker) Giuseppe Zanotti which has your feet wrapped in this hue as well as adding a little extra bling. With so much color, it's an even better excuse to include this python stacked set of 3 bangles to make everything look completely relaxed by Ted Rossi!
I love maxi dresses and this summer I am not only incorporating previous season's of maxi dresses and rompers but it's all about the perfect maxi skirts! In addition, I do love a monotone look with pops of color from my accessories. I love playing with proportion as well so having a slim fit maxi skirt by Malene Birger and with this fab top by CLU. I love that there is ease in the top and together it's a very laid back look (it's a look that will take you from shopping in the city, partying at Coachella and lounging in South Beach. Take it super easy with these fabulous sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti which merges tortoiseshell and a little bling together. Rock a long beaded labrodite Chan Luu necklace which plays with the neutral tones. Stack a few fun python leather bangles together by Ted Rossi (my fave accessory designer and friends of mine) which pairs the tiffany blue color with the natural grey snakeskin. This is such an easy look and with the weather we're having in the city right now.
As many of you know, I was in sunny and humid Tampa this week for my on air appearances for Sebago on HSN! It was a great day to chat about Spring trends, boat shoes and what you can expect from Sebago this season. In addition, I loved being able to chat with my fave hosts on the show as well as to see Robert Verdi as he was on air as well for his line. If you missed it or want to see it again, I'm chatting with Tamara Hooks about spring. I loved keeping it easy with a fun tee, citron yellow denim and an amazing assortment of jewelry! Love that I rocked Ted Rossi python bangle, Ana Reign Black Onyx ring, Virgins, Saints and Angels ring and a Flower Pendant necklace from CG Arte.
Now I love jeans - especially the dark ones but I have bitten by my new love of rocking colored denim. This officially went live when I was on HSN this weekend and was wearing Citron colored denim! Now I'm thinking of going beyond this and into more hues! It's so fun and a nice way to spark pop into your outfit while also loving the joy that denim (stretch please) can give! Today's look is inspired by this new love! Loving the Enza Costa creates a number of angles that make this look fab.
Of course, we have to bring some fabtastic bling into this look with neutral tones! I love this set of 3 slim Urban Warrior bangles by my favorite python designer, Ted Rossi. My new obsession is Dara Ettinger with this Lori Three Bezel Cluster Sunset Ring which is a nice way to show off fabulously polished fingers! Sergio Rossi knows about rocking the heel in a fun way! I love mixing the black and white bangles with a python in the caramel hue thanks to these platform sandals. Finally, you have to carry your favorite possessions in a luxe way - check out Mulberry's Soft Travel Soft Matte Top Handle. The embellishments on this bag are fantastic as you can only have the best hardware on your bag to showcase your sense of style!
With a little over a week left before Christmas, we can all use a kick in the pants to go out and get gifting. Standing in line yesterday at the post office, I realized that I have a lot to do. My favorite part of the gifting process is spending time cross legged wrapping packages. I prefer this to be a solo activity but if you have wrapping parties, this is how to dress for it!
Personally, I'm not a fan of Fair Isles but when it's the holiday season, I think it's so cute. Here in the city, we have been enjoying fabulous weather where we can layer lightly! So pair this Fair Isle Hooded Cardigan from Paul & Joe Sister with a long sleeve white T from J Crew and Donna Karan's white leggings. I love wearing white well past Labor Day Weekend as I don't believe in rules to style! Of course, when it comes to looking cozy, you have to bling it out as you never know what you'll be doing after all the gift wrapping. Slip on a pair of studded ankle boots by Charles by Charles David which will add a rich caramel to this look. As you know, I'm a fan of Ted Rossi and beyond making fabulous python cuffs, he has adjustable rings that has Swarovski crystals and sits on a python base to create the perfect cluster. Now in addition, my loyal kittens know that when it comes to jewelry I have my faves that I salivate over and enjoy rocking (Ted Rossi, Virgins, Saints and Angels and ...) so you know this includes Ana Reign Designs. I have been writing about this designer since 2004 and met her in person earlier this year and found that she is definitely a friend. This past weekend, she was apart of Kitten Lounge's Holiday Shopping Lounge at Ink48. I am now the proud owner of the very first piece that I wrote about AND fell in love with years ago - a Teardrop Onyx Ring that is also adjustable (as well as 3 fabulous cluster bracelets which I am so obsessed over! This is a great way to complete the look!
With all the holiday commercials that have magically hit our screens, this is a time where we not only think about gifting but reconnecting with friends so that we can see them prior to the end of the year. After a hectic Thanksgiving and getting items ready, I am super excited that I can squeeze time out to hang out with friends. I'm off to a fun afternoon of drinks and nibbles with a friend. With that said, we need to grab fun, easy outfits that will allow us to laugh for hours without worrying about our comfort!
I'm love this Chloe yellow and python top which can be paired over French Connection's stretch leggings which are a staple for any wardrobe. With such a dynamic top, I'd definitely suggest that rocking more of a monotone look would be the best suggestion. Fun peep toe boots by Camilla Skovgaard adds an edge without going over the top. Slip on this cuff from one of my favorite designers Ted Rossi and this ring which is beyond fab Sevan Bicakci which has carved citrine. Finally, make sure that you have a super cute clutch like this fold over option by Balenciaga which has a pop of gold in it to add some oomph to the overall look!
It's so hard to dress for this weather. It's all about layers but sometimes you dressed a bit too warm for a day when the temperatures rise to 68/70 even when it's not the same level of humidity as it was in the summer. Other times, it gets super chilly and there is something about wishing you had grabbed another layer. This is a fab look when I love getting back to the coziness of the staple in my wardrobe for years, black.
My latest (one of many) obsessions is this Navajo cardigan style from Yigal Azrouel which is eye popping on its own and can paired over a simple pair of leggings. Slip on a pair of these Rider boots from Frye which has their logo on the side and presents a bit of that edge that we all love seeing. As you're running into the streets, rain or shine you need Chloe oversized black sunglasses. These are the perfect way to navigate the streets or to take a nap while traveling on a flight. Slip on Ted Rossi's J'amour Noir Python cuff which adds a pop of edge along with Kara Ross' Onyx, Hematite and Sapphire ring which is a conversation piece to say the least. Now you're ready for wherever this look is taking you!
Saturday afternoon, I will be attending Romona Keveza's Bridal Shows and will be giving you first hand info on all of her collections. As noted this past Saturday when we kicked off our bridal focus for the rest of this month, you will find a lot of posts that are geared towards brides and their parties. I've noticed that there has been a huge debate in the use of black when it comes to bridesmaids. Some people are opposed to it as they feel it's a bit morbid. I think that when you have an evening wedding and you're going for a glam affair, that there isn't a problem with this!
In addition, I think that when it comes to bridesmaids dresses, you selected your girls based on your relationship with them and the last thing that you should do is put them in looks that are not wearable after the event and/or that becomes a running joke within the party. I'm a huge fan of J.Crew who's placement within bridal is definitely one that many brides look to when it comes to their dress or those that are in their party. For the bride that is young and wants to go for a slightly different look, this Marchesa dress has a whimsical sassiness to it that is perfect for a fun wedding. Finally, Ann Taylor keeps it classic with this strapless dress that has embroidery in its tea length structure. All of these dresses can be recycled again for another look for a night out, vacation and more. In addition, I'm loving the fab jewelry that you can give as gifts that add a bit more personality to the look!
You know that I love Ted Rossi and beyond his phenom python aesthetic, I love that he has fab Swarovski necklaces as well as his cuffs that he is known for! Speaking of Swarovski, how can you not love this Nirvana ring which is available in black? Noir has an edgy pair of talon earrings that will look amazing from the lobes of your girls which is a great way to accent the neck. Finally, I'm a long time fan of Konstantino and this chunky sterling bracelet is definitely a keepsake that you'll wear again and again!
As promised we are wrapping up our New York Fashion Week coverage into the weekend. This way we will be back to our regularly scheduled program on Mon! With that said, I had many people ask me how did I get through NYFW? I wish I could say that I was eating well balanced meals, getting plenty of rest and exercising to start each day. But in reality Fashion Week is a hectic schedule and with this season launching my line and doing appearances, it was even crazier! With that said, you find comfort where you can! In the day, that may mean spending an extra 20 mins to mingle with friends between shows, maximizing the fun of lounges or just taking a moment to go off site to get some work done so you're not as stressed.
For me, I took the night time to get comfortable while I worked to stay current with shows. During UGG's Post Fashion Night Out brunch, I soaked in the sun, yummie nibbles/bevvies and loved our gift - fabulous Ansley shoes in Grey. Seeing that I was in heels everyday and standing for long periods, my feet deserved the ultimate in comfort! Due to all the fun outfits I wore (which I can't thank Natori enough, it simply meant that in coming home, I had to slip into something comfortable that wouldn't stop my work flow. LnA hits the spot as it's cozy, cute and in a pinch, I can throw on leggings and make a quick errand if need me. Finally, my skin is another way that I revitalized my self after hours. Bliss' Sugar Scrub in Blood Orange White Pepper Sugar Scrub ensures that my skin stays soft and glows so that I can rock my Ted Rossi pieces and my Virgins, Saints and Angels one as well.
My after hours routine in terms of NYFW is all about obtaining comfort without distracting from the work that had to be taken care of. Having these at my disposal ensured that I looked great and was prepping for the next day of events.
Above are images from the Robert Verdi gifting suite where I launched Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12 by chatting it up with Verdi himself, chit chatting with Nigel Barker (ANTM and phenom photographer - his wife is super cute), my 4th Anniversary of Kitten Lounge party at Shobha, my appearances on HSN prior to NYFW, inclusion within Cosmo for my Get Palladium Pretty campaign and co-hosting Fashion Night Out with Ted Rossi at Henri Bendel.
In doing this post, I feel like I am doing those "What I did over my summer vacation" write ups that we all had to do when we were in school. I remember that one summer was super uneventful and I literally worried about what I would present! But as we're enjoying the fall that has blown into NY (um Pumpkin Spiced lattes, light scarfs and cute layers - hello) I had to look at the 360 of Fashion Week and what it has meant for me in terms of coverage as well as my brand.
Regardless of who you are, Fashion Week for editors and such begins months in advance of the actual shows themselves. We spend a lot of time interacting with brands, their PR firms and related areas. These cultivated relationships, write ups and more result into us having access to the shows, backstage, parties etc which allows us to share with you what's going on. That has been my experience for the past 8 seasons. I cover a number of shows, presentations and lounges but this season took on a new significance due to projects that I had been working on for a number of months that all became public during SS12 NYFW!
Aug 28th - Sept 1st: Since NYFW in Feb of this year, I have appeared on HSN for Sebago as their spokesperson and days before the runways bustled with activity, I beat the hurricane to go to Tampa to present fall fashion within HSN Fall Showcase presented by Elle Magazine. It was a fun series of shows and I love that in terms of my styling, I wore SBS (Smart By Style) which launches in Spring 12 and as the face of the brand, it was amazing to wear them on air - then it was back on a plane home to NYC to do last minute preps and pulls for my appearances for NYFW!
Sept 7th: Although the season ran from Sept 8th - Sept 15th, I started it off with Robert Verdi's Chic Week Twitter Party where we officially launched and shared news about my Kimmie Smith x Spring 12 collection with a room full of my fellow blogger colleagues and press. It's always fun to chat it up with Robert Verdi and to give sneak peeks to people in the know! We streamed this as well so our virtual audience got in on the fun.
On the same day, newsstands had the October Issue of Cosmo Magazine and my Get Palladium Pretty campaign came out. I had shot the photos and the video in the beginning of August and if you go to Cosmopolitan's Facebook Page you can see the video I shot as well as find out how you can get an amazing piece as well. It's my second placement in the magazine as a member of the Beauty, Brains and Blogs Network that was created by the publishing team of Cosmo so being in the Sept issue and then having a huge page in Oct was huge and of course coming out during Fashion Week - I was thrilled! You can see everything here.
Sept 8th: On the first official day of Fashion Week, it was time to hit the shows and of course, that night it was Fashion's Night Out! I kicked this off at Henri Bendel with my dear friend and designer, Ted Rossi! We styled up fans of the brand and I provided amazing tips on how to look fabulously blinged out as he has been dressing me in python and Swarovski for years. It was the first time I did an FNO event and doing it at my accessory destination with a brand I have worn and loved for years was phenomenal! Kitten Lounge also did a Digital Fashion Night Out by selecting brands that we love that people could shop from throughout the day!
Sept 9th - Sept 11th: Although there has been a lot of activity, I'm only at day 2 and it's Friday. Fortunately, it was light enough that I was able to spend a few hours hanging out at the UGG Australia Showroom on their terrace for a post brunch to FNO (also I LOVE LOVE LOVE the slipper moccasins which kept me going in the evening when I was updating). We definitely needed it and I loved catching up with the Fashion Indie crew. You need a bit of a breather as many of my shows were falling on Sat and Sun and I wanted to be rested. In addition, over that weekend I hit a lot of the media lounges that took place which lets you know about in season or future product and of course, it's a great way to have catch up seasons. I ran into Verdi at the tents and we did a fun Pop Up Show with Robert Verdi talking Spring 12 Trends that you should keep an eye out for for First Comes Fashion - Fashion on the Go and we had one of my fave pop up guests, none other than Mariska Hargitay (Olivia Benson - Law & Order SVU) popped by too - she's gorge.
Sept 12th: Mon arrives and I'm running on the pure will to go forward as it's my birthday, I have a number of shows and presentations and I have my first Meet and Greet for my Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12 collection at the Robert Verdi Luxe Lounge for Chic Week which takes place every NYFW! My shoes had been showing since the 8th but due to scheduling I could only come by on various days. It was such a great first day as I was able to see a number of buyers and celebs which I highly recommend checking out the gallery of images as Real Housewives Jill Zarin and Alex McCord (plus her hubby) came by, Nigel Barker (amaze photographer and judge on America's Next Top Model) popped in as well as a number of stylists and bloggers! It was amazing to see Shape, Elle and so many more come through as well. How did I celebrate my birthday - we headed to Pop Burger for Peach Cosmos, burgers and fries!
Sept 13th: It's Tuesday and I'm still going to shows, presentations, media lounges and spending a few hours chatting it up at my second Meet and Greet at Robert Verdi's We end the night having dinner with an amazing meal at The Red Cat with Adam, winemaker of Cupcake Vineyards.
Sept 14th: Wednesday, I have a few shows but that night, I had a fun Kitten Lounge NYFW 4th Anniversary Party at Shobha (where I get my brows threaded). This night was made possible by Shoba, Vita Coco, PopChips, Covergirl, Cosmo, Havaianas, Elizabeth Grant, Crest 3D White (I'm a brand ambassador for them - they are a must for me) and Birchbox - so much fun to have people swing by (read about it here). Earlier on this day, I saw that an article about myself and the merge of traditional and new media had been posted on Huffington Post Style (apart of AOL media) - so this was super amazing!
Sept 15th: It's Thursday and the last day of Fashion Week, so it's all about seeing the last shows and of course my final day at the Verdi Lounge to showcase my Spring 12 collection. By this time, sleep has definitely been a luxury and I have met so many people, brands and so much more that I can say that this is not only a successful season from a coverage standpoint but it is also successful for Kitten Lounge as well as the Kimmie Smith brand. Due to the coverage, we have received a lot of press and interest for upcoming projects and people finally get to see the items that I have been working on from my design line - SUCCESS. I also love that Shobha (which I'm a huge fan of) included me as a blogger/personality that is not only browlicious but my thoughts on Fashion Week and how I prep for it!
Sept 16th: That brings me to today - Fashion Week may have ended yesterday but now it's about making sure that everything was accurate on the coverage end, saying that you for the invites and of course following up on the items that involve my personal brand. We will be doing interviews about the shoe collection and my brand ambassadorship positions as well. In terms of what's next, it's about holiday at this point and I am already on the schedule to shoot an amazing video for a large beauty brand that has a tie in with a movie that will be released on DVD which is exciting. I'm already in the planning stages for designing yet another season and we're excited that it seems that Kitten Lounge will get a fun mention in a show that will be airing that covered Fashion Week - beyond thrilled. So the work continues and moves on but I'm so glad to have been apart of the hectic nature that is NYFW. Also a HUGE thanks to Natori, that dressed me for a number of my Meet and Greets - as I always know that her line makes me look phenomenal and she has fun cuts and prints that I adore! Stay in the loop with She's Kimmie.
This morning marked the 2nd official day of Fashion Week and my 3rd day as I had shows prior to the official season. With a long day of shows and events yesterday as well as Fashion Night Out (loved being able to do Style Sessions at Henri Bendel with fab designer Ted Rossi) - it was a full day. But I popped up to head to Emerson (yet another show produced by People's Revolution and my third day in a row to see Ms Cutrone in action) at Lincoln Center. This season was the first one that they had done in the tents which is always an accomplishment and creates additional buzz. They also had eyewear that was provided by Eyefly. There were a number of cute dresses and separates. As a whole the collection had a fresh look that was dominated by white and black with pops of blues and purples. As always, I have the final walk of all the models and the designer herself that popped out as is custom!
Tonight was such a fun night as I participated in Fashion Night Out with my favorite Accessory Designer that I have worn and talked about since 2004. Ted Rossi ensures that I look amazing in python and Swarovski whether I'm in town, on vaca or on segments! Taking place at Henri Bendel (my fave place to shop accessories and to see new designers that are out) Ted Rossi and I held a Meet and Greet where we met with fans of the brand. We introduced them to the phenom fall collection and I styled them of course to ensure that they had fab bling to where! It's always fun to do style sessions as an Accessories Expert, with people who know the brand, want to know or have been fans of Kitten Lounge and want my tips in real time - tailored just for them!
It's the night that has been bombarding my inbox, been teasing us in stores - it's about Retail Therapy at its finest while doing it in style and meeting some of your favorite personalities! Tonight is Fashion's Night Out here in NYC and in many cities around the US and globally of course. Here in the city, you can definitely rock your shopping at a number of locations from 6 - 11pm tonight! It's a time to support your retailers, boost your closets and to enjoy it in a festive atmosphere. With global acceptance, you have to check out the official site to see what is taking place in your area! For those in NYC, I will be participating this year with Ted Rossi one of my favorite luxury accessory brands at Henri Bendel! You can meet Ted Rossi and myself, your fave Accessory Expert as we show you the collection and find the perfect piece to cap off your look!
On Kitten Lounge, I'm always excited to showcase items that I have my eye on and think that you should know about. I'm also all about accessibility so whether you can head out to your local Fashion's Night Out or want to get some shopping in prior to the official time slot of 6pm tonight! I present Kitten Lounge's Digital Fashion's Night Out which presents a curated group of amazing finds that are a must to have and you can shop throughout today and still head out later in the evening to continue filling your closets!
Beauty finds come to your door and this month, Birchbox partnered with Scoop to create the perfect look! I also love that Birchbox is a sponsor for Kitten Lounge's NYFW 4th Anniversary Cocktail Party on the 14th!
I do a lot of travel and TV segments and I love exfoliating about 3 times a week for smooth, soft and glowy skin! Elizabeth Grant's Vitamin C Body Scrub is a must!
Tired eyes are a no no whether you're in front of the camera or just hanging out Vitamin C Illuminating Eye Pads are an essential!
There is no excuse to not rock a scarf as it can add a pop of color to any look but you don't have to wear it just around your neck - find out the number of ways that you can wore these gorgeous pieces from SabinaLes!
Ted Rossi was my first introduction to the world of python and Swarovski Crystals so he has a special place in my heart as well as being a phenomenal human being! So you see me rock his pieces frequently AND I am honored to participate with him in tonight's Fashion Night Out at my favorite and most essential home of accessories - Henri Bendel!
I love mixing materials and when you pair a large bag with a pop of texture you have an amazing combination which is what I present to you in the Belt Bag!
Too many options are never a bad thing and when you have a 3-in-1 with amazing exotic leather, you have true success!
I have been writing about Virgins, Saints and Angels for years and if you've seen recent appearances since this Spring, you know it's always on my hands - but there are so much more. LOVE this Tribal Cross Pendant which is also available in silver!
The depth of Virgins, Saints and Angels is astounding and I love that many of their pieces are available at one of my favorite online stores, Ylang23 - their customer service is BEYOND! I'm such a fan of this Temptation Serpentine Cuff in Gold With Pacific Opal
I'm heading home to NYC after being in Tampa/St Petersburg/Clearwater for my appearances earlier this week on HSN! With Labor Day weekend coming up, the summer went by way too fast! With that said, there was a lot of travel, meetings, events and so much more. It meant that although I always look my best, I had to take it to another level Enjoy the clip of one of my segments that I did talking about Sebago's Fall line on HSN! I'm rocking SBS (Smart by Style) which I became the face of and which you will see for Spring 12. But equally important is my love for fab brows (thank you Shobha), having a dazzling white smile courtesy of Crest 3D White - as well as rocking nails courtesy of Polished Beauty Bar. In addition there are a number of lotions, scrubs and more that I use! Next week is New York Fashion Week which means tons of shows, participating in Fashion Night Out with Ted Rossi meet and greets at Robert Verdi's for my Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12, my 4th anniversary party for Kitten Lounge, it's my birthday and so much more. All of this will take place within a nine day period but at least my skin will look phenom! Of course, accessory wise you''ll see me rocking Virgins, Saints and Angels and Ted Rossi.
Last night, I was back at the showrooms of UGG Australia to preview portions of their fall collection. I always love a night with fab footwear and handbags, great wine and nibbles and times to catch up as I never know when I will be traveling again! Above Felicia, myself, Megahan, Jordan and Katy posed as we were chatting up who knows what! In the midst of the rain we had a great night and I fell in love with two pairs of shoes that are an absolute must in my closet! Finally, people always ask what I'm wearing when I'm running around in terms of accessories so yesterday I picked my massive amount of charm bracelets that have been my signature this summer and I rocked two rings from Virgins, Saints and Angels, a Ted Rossi cuff and loving my Rebecca Minkoff bag! See more images, my fave looks from the collection and more right here.
Yesterday we kicked off (yes in the midst of the heat wave we're experiencing in NYC) our week of transitions in our closets! The fact is, many of us begin thinking about what we want to wear in fall and the easiest way is to begin with Accessories which we did in Monday's post! Today, we continue on our love affair with transitioning into fall with one of my favorite ways to dress in early fall. First off, colorblocking is perfect as it is a hybrid between black (perfect for all seasons) and white (which is always a nice way to pop in spring or even summer). In addition, many people wonder what to do when it hits the fall season and how one should dress. The beginning of fall allows us to wear a lot of summery items for quite a few weeks which is perfect and is exactly what the above look allows us to do when it's that Sept/Oct season!
I'm always a fan of black leggings (love that they have this python look from Victoria's Secret), when paired with a simple tee it has a fab casual meets edgy look! To glam it up, it's all about the accessories. These Giuseppe Zanotti Platform Slingbacks in black python are phenomenal and play well with pants, dresses and so much more! They're your staple for all seasons. Loving that these work well with one of my favorite python accessories designers, Ted Rossi, who has an amazing line with another texture that I love - Ostrich! Finally, I'm all about Swarovski as you guys know! So having a fab statement piece on my finger is a ring and why not go to Swarovski? You have a chance to win this Nirvana Swarovski piece as they are giving one away a month beginning from earlier this summer through the end of the year! Make sure you visit their site so that you can enter to win their fab giveaway.
