Tonight, Paul and I will brave the heat that has descended upon NYC by heading to the Central Park Zoo for the Wildlife Conservation Society Hosted Elephant and Ivory Gala 2011. The event supports elephant husbandry, conservancy as well as research. Those in attendance will eat, drink and dance as they support WCS's century long commitment to elephant husbandry, research and conservation; therefore, these efforts to save important elephant populations around the world can continue. Saving the elephants is definitely a beautiful thing and perfect to include on today's beauty segment on Kitten Lounge! What a great way to purchase tickets for a great cause and to enjoy a unique night in NYC.
This week has been a crazy week! Earlier this week I co-hosted the Walk on Water Forever 21 Fashion Show which took place at the Frying Pan! I enjoyed being able to be apart of an event that was also apart of the Times Square opening of this retailer and what an amazing night! Tonight, I encourage you to go to tonight's Benefit Concert for Girls Who Rock with a number of amazing performers that will wow you with their stellar star power while your ticket purchase goes to educating girls in Africa! I'm so glad that Kitten Lounge is a media sponsor for this event and hope that you guys will go to support this important cause.
With the hooplah of everything this week, I had to catch you up on something that I'm super excited about! I'm working with Project Migration within Fashion Marketing for this fab charity that works with single mothers in Africa to ensure that they have a good quality of life for themselves in their children! I love it and I love that this is done through the sales of super cute tees that you can wear with jeans as well as accessories! If this isn't enough, I urge you to go to Project Migration
to learn more about this event and to RSVP (donations are accepted at the door) to our event on Tuesday, June 15th where we will auction off the cities' eligible bachelors and bachelorettes (enjoy complimentary cocktails as well as nibbles) as well as your first look of the fashion line that you're bound to see in a number of boutiques online and off! I'm so proud to be apart of this team and to be able to work with Hilary Rowland who is impassioned about this cause! More details to folllow and I can't wait to share info about this event!
After an event, I love reading about the press mentions and they're definitely continuing to come in so this Fri, I can't wait to share with you the event in total. Stay tuned tomorrow to find about the Hair and Makeup for the show as well as it is a beauty day after all! Jeannine of Beauty Sweet Spot and I were dressed by APART for our dresses which look amazing! We were also accessorized by Ted Rossi for our bangles and Vince Camuto for our shoes! Our role was to host the show and for those that saw the show as it was also streamed live, I also worked on the format of creating the vignettes which broke out into 4 fun themes (Fitness, Beach, Flirty and Sophisticated - the music choice I'm happy to say was perfect for each one and the girls were amazing and had a great time at this packed show). We hit the runway at the end of the night to close the show. Even though it took months to plan, the Walk on Water Fashion Show Presented by Forever 21 x Smashbox Cosmetics and To Be a Star was a huge success! Right after leaving the stage I was interviewed by various outlets which I will continue to share (in the audience we had people from Fox News, Us Weekly, Getty Images and so much more - recap on Fri)!
In addition the fun doesn't stop here! If you have yet to get your ticket to Girls Who Rock which happens tomorrow night, then this is a must! As media sponsors for this event, we're so pleased that the money raised goes to assist girls in Africa to have the opportunity to go to school so that they can enjoy the benefits that many of us take for granted. This Benefit Concert has amazing artists performing including Shontelle who you have seen me interview this time last year on the site! Find out more by visiting Girls Who Rock!
