Merry Christmas everyone and to those that don't celebrate this day, Happy Holidays for whatever it is that you do enjoy! With only a week left, it's all about being happy and enjoying your surroundings while thinking of how you are going to take everything to the next level next year! With that said, I thought about the warm hues that he holidays in general bring your mind to. I love amber as it's a warm color and since I am all about lights, everything in today's spread supports the amazing bird cage that is the perfect item to include in your living room and is accessorized by my top 5 choices. We kick it off with Restoration Hardware.
First, warm lights are only amplified by amazing aromatics such as those that are created by D.L. & Co. which sits in an amber jar. These Hungarian Jars which are also available at Restoration Hardware are a fab hue and look amazing when the light passes through them. I love glass even when there is nothing in it. Because I am constantly hydrating, you can never go wrong when you bring in a little DVF into your decor with this twirl pitcher which has a fab aesthetic. When it comes to giving our bookshelves a little love, this Daum figurine is super graceful with a ballerina which adds a bit of zen and class to your space. Finally, I'm loving seating options and this Rhys Ottoman available at Anthropologie has rich leather that gives off that fab sunburst hue that has been dominant within this post!
There is something to be said about embracing black - it's not to say that it is drab or that it is even morbid. But in many ways, it is super romantic especially during the holiday season. Many people feel that when you are wearing something that is predominantly black, that the only way to make it look phenomenal is to pop in another color. I say that although that is totally an option, there is something slightly whimsical about taking black and adding more into it to bring out that inner ballerina look and feel. As soon as I saw this tulle dress by BCBG, I knew that I wanted to maintain the black theme and to continue the dream like sense from this gorgeous pair of Christian Louboutin chiffon pumps (which the little polka dots are super cute) and then to add in more whimsy with these amazing Hello Kitty earrings in onyx which pair amazingly well with the ring from Tiffany's. Together, everything has such an allure to it that you can just imaging being the belle of the ball. This same look can be re-interpreted within a number of looks whether it is a ball gown or it is a much shorter number. These are great items to take into account when you are getting dressed for the holiday season or even the biggest night of the year or the first one of the next!
Every now and then, I feel the need to give my tootsies a break! I wear heels a lot in the winter and if there is a day where it’s not too chilly, I let the girls have some flats time. I don’t really wear a lot of ballet flats but today I decided to do a little Audrey love and I grabbed my skinny jeans, a tank, cardigan, a cuff and my chosen pair this morning! It’s going to be quite a week and in addition to manis/pedis, we have to give some love to our feet when they’re used to being in towering heels and boots. Look above for today’s round up! I love the python pair and I like how you can still be totally styled even though you’re wearing a flat!
Sometimes I get up with a look that I want to wear and somehow between running out of the shower and looking in my closet, the outfits don't always seem to translate as well as they seemed in my mind. Sometimes that super snazzy outfit that had that great pop factor, can be replaced by much simpler pieces that allow the accessories to totally carry the outfit. I love the fact that I can wear a cute tank, t-shirt or tunic with a pair of denim of varying washes and looks. It is important to know what accessories are an essential so that you never have to wonder what looks best when you head out of the house.
What are the basic pieces? Check out our spread! You can definitely bet that I will use these tips while I am at the tents and reporting to you guys about the amazing designers hitting the runways of Fashion Week! You'll want to check in for the coverage right here and to check out my daily post: Kimmie On Style. From Sept 5th - Sept 12th, I will rock a different look that is accessory heavy! I can't wait to reveal the final day of Fashion Week's outfit which also happens to be my birthday as well. On these posts you'll see who the designers are and how I chose to wear them and of course, I'll let you know where you can get it as well!
Don't laugh, you may need to ask and get this one day! Spare Soles has all of us in mind in terms of tired feet that need pampering, tootsies that unexpectedly needed to glam up and you didn't bring the right shoes or you simply felt that you wanted to put your best foot forward! I had the opportunity to wear the cutest shoes this week/end from Spare Soles. First off, I carry so much in my bag that it's important to me that whatever I need to have is as slim as possible. Secondly, it needs to be something that looks stylish. The other day I slipped out this super cute pouch from my back and felt like Dorothy except I was in silver shoes. I love that these ballerina shoes fold easily and have super cute bows that make these shoes more than just a back up. In fact, I love that they definitely get noticed and look so cute when you pair them with baby doll dresses and jeans. You never have to hide your feet again due to an unexpected outing that suddenly needs your attention. When you're not using this, simply slip it back in its wristlet and place it back in your bag. Although I must say, the other night, I did use it as a wristlet and place my Metro Card and a few dollars within this bag. I have to say that these are essentials and I love my black and silver pair. This is a must - visit Spare Soles to get some for your very own!
