Although the first day of Spring kicked off yesterday, this in between weather makes me think about taking a proper getaway and when that happens - you have to go warm weather and beaches as far as the eye can see! With that in mind, I present to you the 10 items that are an essential when it comes to looking amazing. What I love about these key items is that many of them can be interchanged with your looks even when you're back battling the temperatures. Fitness Fridays ~ Workout Will Travel
For the past 11 days, I have been adding an additional layer to my workout with Revolt Now Fitness which allows me to work out every day without having to leave my home. This is great as many times I have done it from my tablet, laptop, phone etc whether it's been in my apartment or when I've been on the road. It's that season where toning up is the theme of the season as the Spring makes me think of the summer, beaches and being on a rooftop, appearances I'll be making and TV Segments. The ease of being able to add this into my workout and being able to rewind it as I do a number of workouts throughout the week, is why I'm a fan of Revolt Now Fitness.
When working out, a goal is always an essential and although there are a few of them, I think there is no goal more sobering then of course fitting into your fave bikinis as they become an essential for this upcoming season! My beach look will include fabulous bikinis from Dolce and Gabbana in Sicilian Print. Pair this with Yosi Samra's flip flops in bronze which is a great color to where with a number of hues. Finally, accessorize this look with a statement ring from Maison Martin Margiela's gold tone pearl ring.

A few weeks ago, I shared a video from Eric Ripert's On the Table which has Marcus Samuelsson of Harlem's Red Rooster. Today, Eric cooks Thai recipes from her mom (check out her blog which has some recipes), talk modeling, life with John and her new show "Hungry" on the Cooking Channel with supermodel (and soon to be Mrs John Legend), Chrissy Teigen. Swoonfest Saturdays: Miami Edition ~ Prep For a 2013, Beyond
Everyone (including Kitten Lounge) has been taking the "look back" over the past year of 2012. We have shared things that we have loved about magazine covers over the years, our favorite celebs, press trips to amazing locales and of course the launch of Shoe Week! It could take a number of posts to share everything but it's time to focus on what we can't wait to continue sharing and including on the site and our related properties!
As the winter weather is being felt more each day with snowstorms, winds, etc - our thoughts turn to Miami and more specifically, South Beach! I call this location my favorite place - especially The Delano and The Loews - South Beach, I'm obsessed with The Standard - Spa Miami Beach which is included within today's post! This is definitely a view that's perfect when you're escaping the cold and need to gain a new perspective. The next time I'm heading down to South Beach, I'm going to check it out for sure! While down here, it's all about fabulous swimwear and being able to transition easily between taking a dip and gliding in and out of boutiques and our favorite spots for a bevvie and nibble!
Typically, I'm not a matchy matchy girl; however, I love this kaftan and bikini from Emiio Pucci - I love a fabulous neutral with a pop of decadence. Of course, it's essential to ensure that this look is complimented with fabulous gold and silver which is a great way to show a little bling. As always, I adore Balenciaga's Classic City bag and this silver hue is perfection when paired within these fabulous gold/silver Jimmy Choo Malika mirror perforated leather sandals. Add a bit of whimsy with this Amedeo Rose Gold elephant necklace and this fabulous Roberto Coin stingray cocktail ring in gold.

Snazzy Sundays ~ Winter Escapes
With the hectic holiday coming up, you have to do some mental escapism. We were checking out Anthropologie (our favorite store) and found some items that would be perfect. We love this tent (the floor is not included) because you can create your own oasis. Imagine being on an island and prior to arriving, having a team add a floor to the bottom of the tent so that you could move furniture into the space. Check out the inset as the inside has that warm carnelian hue on the walls. If you're floating within a tent, you want lounging furniture, fun pillow pops and of course, you want to have a few mixed cocktails so why not continue the orange hues within this fab Kumquat Pitcher! I believe that the final layer is the perfect bikini and this Missoni as well as fun Quiksilver board shorts for him!

This time of year is always strange as we just came off of Labor Day and yet I'm working double time in order to finalize the calendar for Fashion Week for Kitten Lounge and this season am launching Shoe Week which is full of a number of events that focus on footwear. What keeps me zen is thinking about what will happen over the next few days. I always plan a spa day as well as a little vaca and what's not to love about the simple pleasure of fab heels, a shirt dress, a bikini and fun accessories.

Fashionable Fridays ~ Prep For the 4th
Where is the summer going? In the midst of the bombs that have been dropping today - Tom and Katie divorcing, Lauryn Hill going to jail and Adele bringing in a bundle of joy (if you haven't heard get thee to E! immediately). In the midst of the madness, we're in the midst of planning 4th of July outfits! We'd kick it off with Diane von Furstenberg whoc has a fab white bikini with knot details. This will look amazing with Virgins, Saints and Angels Magdalena necklace! As you strut around your roofdeck watching the fireworks, rock these Christian Louboutin python and lace wedges! Finally, when you have to rock appropriate attire, slip on Roberto Cavalli with this dynamic red and white caftan.

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Accessorize Your Bikini
Every time you're out and about, it's an opportunity to allow your favorite accessoires to come together! I love that swimwear becomes a blank canvas to show your glam side. When I rock my swimwear, I'm all about my Miami - SoBe style! I start over with my Norma Kamali classic bikini with a plunging neckline (I have a green kelly one but love this one in black) and pair it with this Mawi Single Dome Necklace with Spikes. Slip on this Jamie Joseph moonstone ring available at one of my favorite online retailers, Ylang 23! Finally if you spiked your necklace, spike and bling out these heel-less wedges by Giuseppe Zanotti Design are the perfect shoes to rock out to when you're pool side or on your roofdeck and only want to enjoy the sun (with SPF of course) and no interest to pop into the water!

Mingling Mondays ~ West Coast Bound
Vacations seem to be few and far between but I am constantly traveling! Tomorrow I will jet off to LA to mix business and pleasure together! I'm excited to be with my boyfriend on his Social TV conference that he produced and will be on panels for, I'll be working on a number of items involving the ever growing Kimmie brand and of course taking some much needed down time/ I'm loving that I will have a chance to enjoy some time by the pool!
When it's time to have some pool time, I believe in rocking it out! First you have to start with the bikini, I'm loving DVF who has an awesome zebra beaded ensemble which is perfect! Make it look super cute by slipping on a pair of shorts by Rag & Bone. Super cute shorts beg to have fab heels on and when in a bikini, I love rocking wedges and this pair by Brian Atwood is amazing! Rock on a pair of sunglasses with Tom Ford and finish it off with Bottega Veneta's woven leather satchel which is the perfect way to take much needed down time - when you can!

Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Pre Spring Vaca
We're almost out of January, our first month of the year and already, I'm thinking of vacation in the spring! With that said, we have to think about the brands that are a must to bring with you when it's time to take some time for yourself! First off, when it's time for Paul and I to take some super much needed time, my bag isn't complete without Norma Kamali! I have to say that I am typically not a girl who would wear a one piece; however, this classic piece is one that I would wear as it brings an essence of old world nostalgia with a sexiness of what a swimsuit can bring. This emerald suit is definitely a stunner and I love that today's accessories support this look with one of my favorite stones being jade! What I love most about this is - if you're taking a vacation with mixed groups whether it's family, friends, etc this style of suit allows you to show off your assets without being as obvious as wearing a bikini if you're in a quandry of what you should pack in terms of being appropriate.
Emilio Pucci's cuff is fabulous decadent and the perfect item to compliment the fab swimsuit. Gypsy Explore has a phenomenal necklace that is perfect for the halter swimsuit which is a great way to showcase this piece. In addition, I love the tassel and the ornate quality that is bound to draw stares. A girl should always have her handbag, so I'm loving the large envelope clutch by Pour La Victoire which has fun hardware and picks up this fab color that I can't get enough of. Slip on Tuleste Market's gold and tiger double egg ring which is a great way to add a little edge to the look. Finally, rock the entire look with a fun shoe from Fendi which adds another hue but is the perfect way to make you look phenomenal when you're on deck, in the cabana or wherever your destination takes you.

You know I love showing runways from shows past and today, I'm all about Luli Fama which heated up the runways during the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Miami Swim this past July. I'm such a fan of the brand as they embrace color, fun stripes and so much ore - it oozes sexiness. With the last few weeks of the summer coming faster then we can catch the rays, we have to still think about adding to our bikini closet. In fact, even though the summer may be ending in your neck of the woods, there are still tons of opportunities to go sun chasing in other locales. Enjoy the festive and vibrant show!

Mingling Mondays ~ Santorini Style
I Dream of Santorini
Yesterday I closed out July heading to the Javits Center to check out a number of apparel, intimate and accessories brands at a massively large series of shows. I was inspired, excited and pooped! Now that we are in August, there are a number of things that go on this month that are in an effort to have a truly successful NY Fashion Week experience for Team Kitten Lounge! But in addition, with my upcoming collab launches, fab media push and events - things are just a bit more amped up then usual. The next few weeks is a serious push that I am super excited about and it's also the hottest part of the summer here in NYC! I'm already thinking of post Fashion Week which always involves phenomenal massages to end out 9 hard core days but I am also making sure that by the time I have come down from the fashion and last trade shows of Sept that Paul and I can say that we are hopping on a flight to Santorini!
I have never been but the images alone have given me such peace that I do believe that this season it must be a reality. Although I travel to a number of locations some of them being super exotic, it's not a vacation and if I revealed the last time I went on one, it would be too shameful to even admit! As always, it's all about the outfits, I definitely would want to rock an amazing bikini (love Matthew Williamson) that's super simple and can be paired with a kaftan. With these accessories from Noir, Alexis Bittar and Virgins, Saints and Angels I would definitely be in my element! Everyone needs bling even when it's time to relax. Of course, a simple pair of sandals from Christian Dior is a must! Only a few more weeks and then I'll be in holiday mode!>/p>

Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Beach Brunch
When it gets super warm in NYC, my thoughts turn to SoBe where it's even warmer but totally acceptable to parade around in bikini infused looks! Here you have to have a coverup whether it's a gorge kaftan, sarong or a number of other looks. The cabanas are plentiful and you can meet your fellow gal pals there as you're fed grapes, order drinks and of course nibble on whatever happens to be on the menu. With that said, today's selection is a fab reversible bikini which is a HUGE essential for the summer in a vibrant fuschia color by Tooshie Tooshie (love the name), oversized pseudo translucent sunglasses by Dior, jellies redefined into these thong sandals by French Connection and of course everything can go in your brightly colored Cleobella Mexicana Clutch with your cards and info at the ready!

Mingling Mondays ~ At the Beach
Today, I'm in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic as I design yet another fabulous collection for Sebago which will be out in Fall 12. You can't come to this gorge island without thinking about fab bikinis that you want to rock! Even though I'm here for work, you know I have to sneak in some beach AND pool time! I'm loving this aqua bikini available at Victoria's Secret with a fab cuff at Free People that is intended to be worn on the arm as opposed to on the wrist! Cap it off with this super fab and simple Christian Louboutin's to ensure that you have that casual glam that I am such a fan of. Finally, you're never dressed without a fab bag and much like Saturday's post, you can never go wrong with a Marc Jacobs bag to make everything easy breezy!

Fashionable Fridays: Client Files ~ Hamps Bound in the City
Earlier this week I worked with a fabulous client who was looking for the best look that screamed Hamptons but was appropriate for a housewarming here in the city which has a roofdeck! Today's look is a version of the look that was created for her! I'm all about kaftans as there are so many options and they are my "must haves" for Summer 2011. TopShop has a fab serene blue that can be worn as a cover up over your fave bikini or paired with a cute tank top so that it is worn as a dress. If you feel that it is a little short, you can pair cute shorts and on cooler nights, how about a pair of leggings? Because the kaftan is the perfect mix of casual and dressy, it begs to be paired with fun accessories. I'm loving the fun peacock elements of jewelry with House of Harlow's peacock locket pendant and Free People's ring as well. In addition, everything can be evened out by popping in fun nude/blush tones. Love, love, love the fact that Jimmy Choo's clutch is the perfect item to pair with Alejandro Ingelmo's woven platform wedge pumps (I am obsessed with this designer and have been since Sept Fashion Week last year when he was on a Harper's Bazaar panel focusing on accessories) which are phenomenal. Regardless of how leggy you are, this is a great look and as always, I'm so happy to get pictures from my fab clients when they're set to have a fab night out (hopefully she remembers the fab gift she's supposed to bring and will enjoy dancing the night away with friends).

Trendy Thursdays: Spring Break 2011 ~ Indah Tachi
Sometimes when people are thinking colors they over look the power of beige! I got inspired the second I saw Indah Tachi's bikini in this fab shade. It's a fab color that looks fab on brown and tanned skin! In fact it's translucence is also quite illuminating. As we are in the last days of Spring Break 2011, it's important to also take into account the impact that this color has on beauty as well! As I begin prepping for my trip to DR for tomorrow, without question, I know I will toss in my black bikini. No matter how much I love trying something new, there is something to be said for wearing that classic black bikini! Today, Vix hits Kitten Lounge and we think about the classic going out to meet your girlfriends. It's a time to dish, drink mojitos and of course to ensure that everyone knows that you have ultimate style! Complete the look by going super classic. I'm loving Kate Spade's half circle tote which can be worn with whatever you're wearing (even if it's not beach bound)! Pairing it with a large hat is so decadent! Snazzy Sundays: Spring Break 2011 ~ Shoshanna
This Sunday's Snazzy Sundays continues our Spring Break 2011 theme! Sometimes you get inspiration for how something looks by something in a magazine or on a runway. But then again you may get an idea from your bikini! I'm loving Shoshanna as they're bringing in the fun Ikat print that everyone is rocking one way or another with their looks for yet another spring/summer season! There is something about white, turquoise, green and yellow coming together that makes everything bright as well as perfect for gatherings. We also love that it's still in keeping with the colors that we think about in terms of Easter as well! Follow the Ikat love by adding various hues that are found in the suit! I'm loving Haute House's Monroe Sofa which is so Miami chic and begs for color to be placed on it's cushions. For that, we get inspired by our fave Trink Turk pillows. Finally add some whimsy and bring in the sun with Perch Zooey Mini Chandelier Pendant Lamp. All are fab choices for a day/night in of keeping the season year around!

There is something about a stark white bikini on tanned, olive, caramel or any number of the gorg brown shades that many rock that makes you want to run to your nearest oasis!
