I love playing with tones of grey it's a gorgeous color to pair with others or alone. I love Juicy Couture's Peyton boot which is a very dark grey and over the knee which is one of my favorite looks. Cole Haan's Prudence bag (I have it in Red is my favorite and this was one of the best presents that I could have received this year! When it comes to jewelry I say silver all the way and the pop of citrine is just enough to have a little flash. I love going to Madison Ave to head to Judith Ripka and her collection is so large that you're bound to find just what your looking for! Of course this look comes together with skinny jeans or leggings and I love that you can pair a white tee with a nice grey wrap which is perfect if you're out and about or going out to a nice dinner. Not only are these key pieces but Bluefly is known for having fab pieces that are always available for what you need!
When it gets super chilly, I'm not a fan of cold weather; however, I love outerwear for a few reasons. I love coats - if it has to be chilly then it's fun to wear them. Then there are times that you're running around all day and as opposed to your coat being a secondary, it's definitely a primary. The reality is that when you're running from place to place and shopping, you're coat becomes an essential. Recently, I found out about a line that is new to me, Mackage which makes coats for men (my boyfriend is obsessed with Bruce) and women. I love that this a-line coat has a cute neck embellishment. This would be perfect for me to run around to in showrooms, shopping and events. So to that end, it's essential that these looks become accessorized complete with over the knee booths (this is a must when I'm out and about and sometimes it's nice to have a flat boot as opposed to heels). Boots add a bit of an edge look but also a little Paris chic as well. The fingerless gloves are a nice way to add a bit of a rocker chic but when paired with the coat and shoes it's a look that looks like it was super easy to put together and effortless. Finally, it's all about the bag! I'm all about wearing dark colors in the winter but there has to be something which has a pop of color whether it's a scarf or a bag and to me, the bag is essential. This red croc bag is the perfect way to standout and to beat the blahs and greys that can take place once we've been in this weather pattern for too long.
Since I got back from Vegas (last Sat) I started seeing fall everywhere. The temperatures are significantly cooler, last night I hung out with a friend that talked about movie nights and apple cider and this morning clinched it - I smelled fall! This time last year, I remember covering Fashion Week and still wearing my "best of summer" looks but it seems that this will not be what I'm wearing this season to the shows or Fashion Night Out. Where did the summer go and why am I not sad that it's passed? I'm no fan of winter but the fall with boots and layers that can be done in a sexy way are a huge plus for me! Boyfriend cardigans aren't only comfy but they can defintiely be done in a femme way so I decided to post one of my first "ode to fall" articles. Leggings are a sure way to make sure that you don't look frumpy when you start layering and are a great alternative to wearing skinny jeans (although I will totally rock my Hudson Jeans). This is my favorite look - a femme top, a large ring, layered necklaces and awesome boots! The Marc Jacobs boots have a fun heel if you look carefully and I love that when I'm not feeling like a tall heel, I can still wear this and look completely put together. What's your fall signature look?
I have been living in leggings all this week! I love how it makes every outfit have a bit of sass whether you're at work, running errands or just hanging out. Since it has been chilly here, I have been wearing boots but I love wearing them with heels! Check out some of the ones that I have had my eye on!
I have no idea if some people's sales that were a bit early were their Black Friday or Cyber Monday specials. Either way, tomorrow you can either hit the streets or have the benefit of enjoying Black Friday from your computer as some people want to intice you days prior to the Cyber Monday extravaganza! DSW is having various specials today and also on Monday as well. Obviously, they are not the only ones doing this as Woodbury Commons opened last night later in the day in anticipation if great sales.
Whether you're shopping from home or out on the streets today or this weekend, deals are bound to be had! Make sure you have a plan and have plenty of fluids as some people begin building their days. Leave a note of any great finds that you happen to find along the way so that we can share this with others.
During Fashion Week, it's more than the fabulous clothes and parties, I love being in the tents and getting introduced to new products. As I walked around the various booths, I came in front of Boots. I knew them to be a store that sold various skincare, beauty products, etc. But I was surprised that the line called No7 was their own line. I was given a moisturizer for day and night and I have been using it since Fashion Week! I love how fresh my face feels and as I received a full sample, I know that when it's time to get another one, I can either go to Boots or I can get it at Target. This is affordable and attainable skincare that will make your face glow everytime you apply the creams! This has made my skin look very refreshed and I honestly feel that I am getting a mini spa everytime I was my face! So although this post is late in coming, I wanted to spend a few months with this product before sharing it with all of you!
I love shoes and in the winter, I am all about boots. Since it feels like the season lasts forever, it's essential to have as many of them as possible (the same goes for fun scarves and winter gear). I buy shoes from all over and growing up, I used to go to DSW! I loved the fact that you could get designer shoes at an amazing price or a variety of moderate shoes that instantly boosted your closet! When I left Indiana, I was happy to have so many shoe stores in my area; however, I was always a little bummed that there wasn't a DSW! Then one day after a walk in Union Square I found one and a bit later downtown received one as well!
I love that they are near by and every now and then I pop in but I am so pleased that DSW allows you to order online! Now you don't have to walk around looking for your new found love but you can enjoy browsing for hours and everytime you visit the site, you'll find new items to fall in love with! So definitely make sure that you think about the looks you want to rock this season and see if you can replicate it here as well!
When it comes to my handbags, I never skimp on the whole style and function factor. The way I think about it, my bag is worn throughout an entire season with barely any change ups. This bag needs to become my staple and go with a number of things that I happen to wear. There are so many factors that dictate whether a bag will be appropriate or not. I want the color to pop but not to the point where it seems like I am lost in color. I need a sizeable bag with many compartments and I need to feel that my personality is definitely reflected as well. In addition, I always love when I can find a great boot that makes me love the bag that much more.
Earlier this week, I was introduced to Hayden Harnett and I fell in love. Not only do I love their accessories but I love the boots and they have a clothing line too. They know how much pop they need to infuse in their pieces while allowing your personality to come out too. Essentially, you're wearing the pieces and not the other way around - which is a good thing. So without a doubt, to close the week I present my favorite pieces from this line which is getting a lot of visibility!
I think August has us baffled here on the east coast. These are supposed to be the dog days of summer and this week I have sported cute scarves and have thought about some of my cuter long sleeve items as well. So once those come out, it's hard to deny that we need to think about fall and to make sure we have fun core pieces as we toggle back and forth in this transitional weather. These are great items that are perfect for work, running errands and for a night when you'll be out and about.
I think it says super cute and sleek! What can you say about these great looks - first off, a great tunic top. This is a great way to highlight your shoulders and I love that there is extra length which looks so cozy.
Next I love the belt, it's simple and black and yet there is a pop of color, this is definitely something that you want to incorporate into a few looks. Not only is this belt cute, but I love the boots which will pair nicely with these liquefied leggings! They look great with booties and also with something much longer.
Top everything off with this poor boy knit cap in grey which is perfect on a not so great hair day or just to look super cute and then there is the bag. I love bags with fun shapes which are perfect to lug what you need while making sure you look super cute! What a great look to wear together and with other pieces as well!
I love boots! I love i them in the winter and when you hit those long parts where you wonder if you can take another one of those grey days, there is solace in knowing that you have cute footwear! I am such a fan of these boots as it allows you to rock a number of looks by wearing these. Each one is good whether you're going for a sassy mood like the Magdalena, a casual and comfortable style as in the Rampo Boots or something that shows you kick ass and take names as in the Botkier boot! Either way there are so many fun options available that you'll be excited to know what look you're going for.
We love hearing from you! Suggestions, ideas and thoughts are always welcome.
