Sometimes it's difficult to go to the gym as much as I want to depending on my schedule but as you know, I have been heading to Lucille Robert for the past month to show you all the elements that are great about this gym with our readers. The biggest takeaway is that Emily is my trainer and she always teaches me little things that I can work on regardless of when I see her! This week, this came in handy when I didn't hit the gym as much as I wanted between doing lunges, wall push ups and more! I definitelyl suggest a trainer whether you do this weekly, once a month etc as they can spot you and let you know how better form can be a benefit for your ongoing excercises. More importantly, they can let you know about modifications that make it easier to your routines as you work up to doing it a standard way or to make you feel comfortable!
Of course, I work out best when I feel good which means - an outfit is essential! I am obsessed with Reebok sneakers as I love how it distributes my weight easily and that my feet are completely supported. I also love wearing socks by New Balance as they have just enough cushion! With the fabulous weather, I love that I can dress straight for the gym and throw on a hoodie to block the slight chill so this means that capri exercise pants are the perfect item to rock out in. Nike has a great pair that's puffed. I always keep it simple with tanks (although the other day I was working out in my Lakers tank) such as this one which is perfect for yoga by Tek Gear.
You know that I am a fan of creating spreads to show how an outfit can look - this way you have a fab idea! Today, I am presenting a peek into what I am looking to build into my wardrobe for now and most importantly for spring! These are great items that I would love as a gift or as a way to treat myself for doing something amazing. The unifying theme is that these pieces are a great way to provide a pop of color or just a different element into my look since I adore wearing simple looks whether it's a monochromatic look or a pair of jeans and tees.
The Tiffany Key is a fun look that works with a number of outfits. I love that it's large classic and has a slightly pinkish or rose hue to it which will provide a nice glow. Yves Saint Laurent has a fabulous bright pink cashmere scarf that I have been eying for a number of reasons. It all started when my logo changed to a bright pink color, then I wore a phenom dress by Aiisha Ramadan for NYE and slowly but surely, I realized that this is a color that I would love to embrace into my wardrobe. This is so cute when I'm rocking grey from head to toe or the classic white tee, and jeans with a casual scarf! I also love B.Rawlings Santorini Ring which has a nice aged, antiqued and stacked quality to it which will elongate the finger! Finally, you can't go wrong with a pair of Christian Louboutin's and these python peep toes have a nice blue hue that would look amazing no matter what dye your jeans happen to be or whether you're rocking boyfriend, capri or skinny jeans. Together this look is Beyond Adorable and I can't wait to begin collecting the pieces.
Yesterday was the craziest day ever! In addition to running to a number of meetings which will be revealed throughout this month, launching Project Accessory finally and continuing to work on the Hamptons Guide and our amazing giveaway that kicks off next month (did I mention we have 4 tote bags and you could win one) - I know today will be just as much chaos! When it's like that AND you hear that the weather will be in the 80's you know that you definitely have to dress with comfrt in mind. Today, I'm all about wearing something that's light, adding a scarf in a new way and pairing it with capris! Not only are these Tory Burch pants cute but the shoe (I saw them in person during Kitten Lounge's shopping event at their NoLita store in Feb) is an absolute must when you're wearing the pants. I also believe I saw this ring (great pop of navy and gold) when I attended the Kate Spade x Rebecca Ward event in Feb as well! For all those running at 300 miles an hour, make sure you dress right for the hustle!
One of my favorite fashion icons is Audrey Hepburn. How can you go wrong. Well when you think about adding classic elements to your wardrobe, think about pairing skinny jeans with heels, the classic black dress, the cute trench coat and a cute geometric dress. The great thing about these pieces is that they can all be accessorized to your personal taste and you'll never have to wonder about what to wear for an evening function that is slightly dressy but casual or what to wear when you're meeting the girl for drinks!
I love this selection of pieces and of course no ode to Audrey could be complete without having Ms Hepburn herself courtesy of Getty images!
I love that we live in an age where many rules of fashion are meant to be broken and what we took to be truths at the time, are being reinvented. Yes, it is true that in fashion we are all learning new tricks and many of us that may have always been able to wear something are just coming into the realization that we can wear a number of styles, colors and much more.
The other day as I was on Facebook, I happened to learn about a Petite Fashionista Show that will take place in Canada. Christa Jean is a Petite Stylist and has put together this show with tickets still available It's aim is to showcase the beauty of models that are 5'4" and under. In addition to being intrigued by this event, I came across one of the sponsors - 5ft2in. This fabulous company makes pants for women within this height range! In addition as I talked to the designer, Sunny, she was so excited to show me her most popular pant style! This capri pant is not only popular but she definitely wanted to let me know that it is a complete and total myth that petite women are unable to wear this length of pant. I think that those who strive to focus their efforts on certain demographics of women that may have a harder time in shopping are absolutely amazing and should be commended without a doubt! Take a peek at her site and contact her directly if you are in need of having a pair made for you or someone that you know. I am always a fan of attainable fashion and love presenting those that make that dream a reality for women everyday!
