Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Accessorize With Yellow

Yellow is a great hue and this vibrant tone is definitely one of Pantone's Spring 2013 hues that dominated the runway! I love that just by wearing this color, you have an extra spring in your step and as we continue to have longer days and warmer weather, why not shake up your wardrobe with some fun additions? This is the perfect look for the weekend, casual days in the office or of course when you're working from home. This definitely falls within my category of "nuvo glam" as it's an effortless style of dressing that can be worn to a number of places without having to change.

THE LOOK

Start out with this Rag and Bone tank top which has a nice flare to it paired with these Victoria Beckham denim leggings which have a slightly yellow hue. Keep it cozy with this striped yellow and white cardigan by Splendid.

ACCESSORIZE THE LOOK

Complete the look with fun accessories including these vibrant heeless shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti. Add a yellow sapphire by Jade Jagger which is the perfect cocktail ring. This gold plated and onyx necklace by Just Cavalli. Adorn your wrist with this fab Alexis Bittar cuff which is frosted with crystals. Finally, complete the look with this Marc by Marc Jacobs Q hobo bag.

Fashionable Fridays: Win It ~ Chic & Layered

This winter season can be a challenge from surprisingly warm days to down right chilling to the bone temperatures! How do you dress for something like this? It's all about layers and great pops of color. I love a neutral palette and believe in mixing white, black and grey together. The versatility of this look allows you to go all over and throughout your day without wondering if you're appropriately dressed no matter the impromptu situation.

I love a great pair of skinny jeans and this pair from Paige Denim and add a fab white tank that can be dressed up and down by Rag and Bone is a fab look. Complete the look with a great rolled cardigan in grey from Ralph Lauren Blue Label. A fab pair of ankle boots add a nice touch to the look by Saint Laurent.

Of course, I'm all about accessorizing and love adding in fab embellishments to jazz up this look. All of these pieces have notes of silver, Mother of Pearl and quartz. Although I'm not a watch person, I do like this Michael Kors timepiece. Layer on a Chan Luu bracelet that adds in another subtle hue. I love this Mother of Pearl necklace which has a great depth of texture as a way to bring in an old world charm as well as being very modern. Finally, I love this quartz and diamond ring by Sandra Dini.

Finally, it's all about the bag - with this winter season that will soon transition into Spring, you have to have a pop of color and you know that I'm a huge fan of Linea Pelle as I love their rich leather, fab embellishments and amazing colors. This Dylan Medium Tote is a lovely yellow and I have been carrying this body style in the fall. I love that you can fit so much in here (many times I have my laptop in my bag and all of my tech goodies)! So kicking off today, you have the chance to win this fabulous bag and a winner will be announced on Feb 7th (the first day of NYFW) so that you can begin building your closet on the way to great style!

Win this great bag by visiting Linea Pelle and making sure that you sign up for their newsletter. Next follow and tweet @KittenLounge and @LineaPelle telling us what fabulous color you are looking forward to adding into your wardrobe this season and include the hashtag #LPKLSpring2013. A winner will randomly be selected!

Our win it has ended, congrats to @Objets for winning a fab tote from @LineaPelle!

Mingling Mondays: Snag the Look ~ Inauguration Day 2013

We're not finished with inauguration day activities but we had to share our highlights over the weekend as well as what took place today as President Obama was being sworn in. We love the looks that everyone has been rocking. Michelle Obama (how much do you love that she has her own Twitter account to share her thoughts with us - @FLOTUS) and her girls looked amazing during the Kids Inaugural Concert this weekend with performances by Usher and Katy Perry.

Yesterday, Obama was sworn in to office for another term in the White House and had his fabulous family by his side. Michelle wore a Reed Krakoff dress and matching cardigan in blue, the color of the party. Malia wore a cute dress which was on trend with an age appropriate color blocked dress (which was created by simply layering a long sleeve top under a sleeveless dress that she wore while her father campaigned). Sasha wore purple Plenty by Tracy Reese dress named, Mariposa (you can still snag this piece and we love how Sasha updated this look as she had worn this ensemble before) and added oomph to the look by pairing it with a gold sash to create a belted look and a flare in her outfit. Both opted for - tights.

This morning, a number of stars were present at the inauguration including John Legend, Jay-Z and Beyonce (who sang the national anthem immediately after President Obama was sworn in). Jay-Z looked dapper wearing a Dior suit. Beyonce was a vision with a Pucci dress, Dior coat and stunning jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz which looked phenom and were making statements of their own as she walked in and sang (without her ear piece). Michelle and her daughters looked fabulous as usual. Michelle had a coat by Thom Browne in navy with a dress whose fabric was inspired by a man's silk tie (love when menswear goes femme). I love that during the swear in, her legs were exposed and the coat was not accessorized and she completed the look with kitten heels from J.Crew. This look was accessorized (when she was getting ready to walk) by Reed Krakoff boots, a jeweled belt and gloves from J.Crew and Cathy Waterman earrings as she headed to the parade after the swear in. This entire look is slated to go to the National Archives!

Her mini style mavens rocked cute looks as usual. Malia (the oldest) wore a Double Cloth Lady Coat in plum (love that you can still snag it) by J.Crew. Her sister, Sasha, wore a Kate Spade coat and dress.

We can't wait to see what the family will don for tonight's events and we'll keep you in the loop!

UPDATE: 01.22.13 Racked reported, that during the Today Show, Jenna Lyons, Creative Director of J.Crew will be retiring the color of the Lady Coat that Malia wore. Although this style has been a staple within the brand's line, out of respect for her to have her moment, the color will no longer be available. The belt that Michelle added to hear Thom Browne coat, was actually a bedazzled bridal sash from the line and this too will also be retired! If you were able to snap up these finds (or still can) fab - if not, the hunt continues!

Wearable Wednesdays: Closet Essentials Edition ~ LBD Chic

Each Wednesday in 2013, we'll provide a number of options within a theme, This month, we're focusing on the classic Little Black Dress. The LBD is typically associated with a cocktail dress but there are so many styles that carry over to a number of looks! We're loving Victoria's Secrets The Little Tee Dress which is perfect to wear alone or layered within an overall look. This is also perfect for heading out to dinner with friends and family in a casual setting, a work event or just running around! To dress it up, rock these McQ Alexander McQueen two tone leather ankle boots which are a mix between preppy style and a bit of an edge. Ass this textured Ncbis Eve necklace. Complete the look with this Deborah Pagani diamond golden moonstone and onyx ring which has a great array of neutral hues. Finally, keep the winter chill away with this fabulous Missoni mohair coat. This works well no matter the season whether you add a fun pair of glasses, tights, a boyfriend cardigan and a fabulous scarf. In addition, this dress comes in a number of hues which are perfect for creating an essential component to your closet. Throughout the month we will continue to provide more options on various LBDs.

Mingling Mondays: FW2012 Trends ~ My HSN Segment

Roll over the images to see where you can purchase these items

Last Thursday, I had two segments on HSN and since I was talking Sebago fall style, I had to rock a few layers. What I love about fall is that you can wear a number of your summer items layered together. On this day, I wore a cowl neck short sleeve top from Forever 21 and paired it over top a pair of jeggings from Avon I also wore a navy cardigan which was super easy. Of course I had an Onyx ring from Ana Reign as well as layered bracelets from Lagos Jewelry as well as Charriol. For an added pop, I put on Rubr Watch Nation which allows you to take the face of the watch in and out of the straps of your choice! Finally, I do love to accessorize with nails so this look was finished with Deborah Lippmann in Billionaire which is a hunter green hue with a tone of black in it!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Travel Ready

I love finding my perfect outfitr to travel in so that I can hit the ground running when I land. On Thurs, I will head out to Tampa for another series of shows on HSN. I always take the same flights out and back. I love an early morning flight to Tampa so that if there are delays, I have plenty of time since my shows never start until the next day. Upon landing, I always meet up with my rep as we catch up, then we do a training session, I go back to my room to lay everything out, pop back out for lunch, spend some downtime and then go out for a reasonable dinner and then back to the room to prep. Because of this schedule, I never really change out of my clothes. Here in NYC it's rainy and in the 60's and I'll be heading down to 90 degree Tampa so I like a convertible outfit.

I'm loving these Alexander Wang pointelle leggings paired with this twist racerback tank from Rag & Bone. These can be worn alone but when you hit the flight, I love this striped Haute Hippie black and cream cardigan which is cozy and will look fab with a scarf to make everything super cozy on a flight. Finally accessorize it up with this Marni cotton and gold toned brass necklace. Slip on this Giuseppe Zanotti tubular ring and complete the look with this fabulous pair of Chrissie Morris striped sandal which is such a fab look!

Mingling Mondays ~ Morning Sunshine

Ever since Paula Patton rocked canary yellow on the red carpet during the Golden Globes - I have been looking for ways to bring this hue into my wardrobe. Now many of you who are connected to me on Facebook or on Twitter weighed in on Paula's bold look when I shared a way that one could wear it in a super cute short style by Cynthia Rowley. Some said that the color was still bold and that accessories definitely should be used to tone the color down. Today I present a muted yellow that is also layered with a grey tank. I am known for wearing tanks year around and am able to do so in the colder season by having layers! I love the burnout jersey tanktops by T by Cut 25. I would pair this over jeggings by Black Orchid Thunder (loving the side zips which add a little sass) and of course, I can stay warm by rocking T by Alexander Wang. The best thing about this cardigan is it travels well and it has a hood which will always keep you looking chic. Mixing the yellow and grey together ensures that any bold color you were concerned about - no longer becomes a problem.

Slip on these fab boots from Report (as you know that I am a huge fan of their shoes especially their thigh high boots - love the pair I have in brown) which will complete the look. I ADORE Melanie Georgacopoulos pearl and chain necklace mixing sweet and edgy together and adding a fun layer into the overall look. Effy Collection has a fun ring which is perfect for this laid back look whether you're catching a flight, popping into meetings or running errands. Slip on these stacked pyrite bracelets by Lisa Freede and end the entire look with Fendi's gorgeous satchel bag which adds another yellow but is playful and whimsical.

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style - Kimmie's 5s ~ He Rocks The Look

When it comes to his style, it's ok to watch him stack on the accessories and to encourage him to continue building this portion of his closet. As I said earlier this week, it's all about the top 5's/. Guys love the simple half zip cardigan and you can never go wrong with this charcoal Polo Ralph Lauren classic and to pair it with All Saints' jeans. Everything else is a fabulous series of items that are also perfect for gifting!

I am all about the weekender bag which is great to run errands and to have as you travel throughout the holiday season. When it comes to a lush bag, you can't go wrong with this brown Gucci bag. One of my favorite jewelry designers, especially for men, is Konstantino. This necklace blends silver and gold together and I love the Pegasus in black which adds a richness and ties in the multi tones that can be worn together. Rock out more silver with David Yurman's chain bracelet. Slip on this watch by Ritmo Mundo which once again ties in our fab neutrals while popping in color and then finish the look with Tod's driver which I love in this shade and think this is a staple.

NY Fashion Week F/W 2011: Wearable Wednesdays ~ Rachel Roy

By far, when I think Rachel Roy for fall, I think about her amazing outerwear. I'm obsessed with shearling, fur and all of the fun elements that add a little pop to your winter wear and once again, she didn't disappoint. I love that both looks represented here are perfect for brunch, going out to dinner or wherever the day takes you. They beg to be layered, paired with booties and amazing fingerless, long sleeve, cashmere gloves. I would definitely love to rock both of these looks at this very moment!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Wheels Up

Here lately I have been asked about my travel - what I wear, how do I stay chic and of course how comfortable is my look? There are times that I love to be a bit more casual when I travel if I know that I can change. But in an age where flights get delayed and schedules are moved up, I have no choice but to be ready for everything. Regardless of the temperatures, I am always in a flowing cardigan. It's easy and it's perfect for me to wrap myself up as the planes are super cold. A friend of mine told me that she loves the super long hoods as she can put it up and even block people out - I must try this as I get a lot of sleep on flights! I'm all about tank tops which make the look easy and when I'm going to a warm climate, I can just slip off the cardigan. I love traveling in boots - yes it's a pain at TSA but it looks fab and you can always pack up a pair of flip flops. Finally, it's always about the jewelry and I love this piece here which makes this casual outfit one with a little pop. Over the next few days you'll see some travel looks which are perfect to also wear for meetings, going out for drinks and so much more for your lifestyle.

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Love It

I can't even work on something if I'm not wearing something that's super comfy and yet fashionable. I am all about being cozy and yet wearing something super chic no matter what the elements outside say! I am all about the over the knee boot as it's perfect for the femme fatale look. The jeans are perfect and I love that it has a greyish hue which is a great way to add a pop of color and to elevate your denim look. To complete the overall look, you can wear a simple tank which doesn't need to be over the top and with the cozy DKNY cardigan you're set for all the elements and the events that take place during your life!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Cozy Whimsy

Snow finally stuck in the city so that means you have to rock that super cozy look no matter what! I love that this is such an easy look as everything is a bit of a slight twist. I love that that cardigan has a cute symmetry to it and has fab stripes that provides the right amount of edge. Of course this can be paired with leggings or jeans which makes it super easy. Then it's all about spicing it up with some fab accessories like over the knee boots, a fab ring which is always a nice way to set your hand apart and of course a necklace with meaning.

Snazzy Sundays ~ Our Obsessions

Everyday we have a new obsession but this weekend we had to settle in on one of my favorite looks. Black and grey don't have to be drab at all which is one of the key components of this look. In addition, I am a huge fan of the brands above especially nOir which is a phenom jewelry line! I am all about the cozy cardigan, a simple tank and the fab accessories that make this look rock when it comes to your leggings or your jeans! Each day is a bit closer to being able to get closer to opening presents and ringing in the new year wherever you plan to see the ball drop. This look is perfect for errands, traveling and meeting that cutie across the way where the mistletoe begs to be used! What are your go to looks when it hits this season and what about this makes you want to carry it into the new year for your signature look?

Mingling Mondays ~ Resort Tory Burch Style

As you're reading this, I'm flying to St Petersburg for HSN so that I can start training on camera for my time with Sebago which will take place in Feb! I am a huge fan of Tory Burch, her boho chic style is one that I love without question and I have also enjoyed throwing an event at their NoHo store as well. Last wek, I kicked off the first day of December at their Meat Packing District Store with a number of bloggers. Our mission was to style a look from the resort collection whether it was ski inspired or beach oriented! Now knowing me, you know that I had to think beach. My vision was to have a nautical bikini that had a gorg orange cardigan to create a pop of color as you head to your SoBe cabana (preferably at the Delano). Accessories are everything, so I loved including wedges, a large bag and gorg shell necklaces and a bracelet to complete this look. I think that my model is phenom and even even better - I would SO wear this look without a second thought! Although I love it, you'll be able to have the opportunity to vote for your favorite model look so that you can weigh in on Tory Burch's Facebook Page!

Fashionable Fridays ~ Cozy Up

Can you believe how quick this week has flown? There are tons of great looks that you can rock when we continue to go into the cold weather. You know my staple look is to wear a cute tunic as well as a great pair of leggings. To stay warm, I think that it's also essential to have a cozy cardigan to get you through the long days ahead. Now to feel that you have a pop of color out and about on your arm as you begin to look at all the holiday windows, get a cute bag that has a rich hue! What do you wear when it's time to go out and stay cozy with a cup of coffee in your hands!

Mingling Mondays ~ Rocking Rocker

Who doesn't love rocking the rocker look? It has edge and yet you're guaranteed to enjoy the sexy look that comes with it! Today's look pairs a fab pair of skinny jeans with the Zafira (Tamara collaborated with Marilyn Minter to create striking imagery of the 15th Crystal Anniversary Collection) from Jimmy Choo. Nude heels continue to be a fab trend that everyone is paying attention to. Top it off with a simple tank and a fab necklace and the look works from coast to coast. Layer up with a cardigan when you get chilly or a motorcycle jacket. On days where it's required for you to fly in and fly out this is perfect to wear when you board your flight!

Snazzy Sundays ~ Rocking Game Day

It's a lazy day but it's all about football whether you're into the game or you're coming to enjoy some fabulous nibbles. I love fall Sundays as it's always all about cozying up with cardigans. I have been rocking Ann Taylor Loft's necklace over the past few days and love that it has a mix of chunky chain and the bling that I enjoy wearing. This week, I've also enjoyed being around Rebecca Minkoff and her collection so how can you not have one of her super cute hobos! Finally pair the fab accessories with a pair of skinny jeans (or jeggings) and add in a cozy sweater!

Snazzy Sundays ~ A Time For Chic

Whether you're off to have a serious "Ladies Who Brunch" or you find yourself off to a meeting where it's essential to showcase your fab style (where I am off to today), having something that sets you apart from others is essential. Today my dreams involved being able to enjoy the end of Daylight Savings Time; however, I got a last minute call for an opportunity that I am super excited to be apart of (after I get the ok of course - as if!). I feel that everyday, I reflect my style but when I am asked to seriously bring it in my "Kimmie way" on short notice, I definitely take a very quick inventory of my closet and hone in on my accessories. Today that means that I will rock a bit of old world accessories and although I will have a black dominant outfit, it's super chic with fab leggings, over the knee boots and a gorg cardigan! Not only will it look amazing on camera but I think it's a stellar look that reflects my concept of fab investment pieces that are simple while allowing my accessories to pop! Of course this look must be supported by a fab handbag as well as an even better necklace but it's sure to be a winner and when I can share the opp, you'll be the first to know!

Wearable Wednesdays~ Caught in the Mix

I am in a love/great dislike feeling at this time of the year. I love Spring because the temperature starts to get warmer, you can do a lot more outside (walking, hanging out, enjoying a drink or two) and you're only moments from Summer. But I don't like the flip flop nature of this weather. You're always unsure of what to wear, you can't really pack everything from winter as every now and then Spring seems to take two steps back and so many times you're either under/overdressed. It makes finding things to wear a bit difficult. People ask me what I wear when I'm out and about. The Spring is all about layering. You never know when you're going to be in a warm office or a chilly one and since a lot of my work has me in showrooms planning, consulting or just listening, I have to be comfortable. Although we're not quite in flip flop season yet, you'll find me in various types of cardigans and swing jackets. I love the cardigan above because it's a soft cashmere, it drapes and it had a hood! It's a way to have that fab hoodie without looking like you you just fell out of your dorm room (we are adults after all). I'm also the queen of tanks so although grey is one of my fave colors to wear, it's nice to pop in color.

Even my best planned days still have room for changes here and there. You never know if you're going to grab drinks, meet up with friends or reconnect with someone you saw earlier and once again that's when I always have a great pair of heels to slip into as this look would be worn with my skinny jeans or my leggings. To finish it off, I love this chunky necklace by Kelly Haas as it plays with proportion and plays up my simple tank and of course, you have to have a the eye popping ring and at Kitten Lounge, we're a fan of Mesi Jilly. The pearl in the ring is an homage to the classic sense of dress but the coral and the fact that it's in a large shell definitely makes it modern and fun! Love the look and you won't be caught in the mix with this fab look!

Fashionable Fridays ~ Casual is Sexy

Whether you do casual Fridays or you just like to be casual, there is no need not to have a sexy look at the same time. Yes it's Black Friday and with all the deals that are going on, this is a great excuse to start changing your look. You know I'm all about skinny jeans and a simple tank - who doesn't love the cardigan that is elbow length. A pop of yellow is a fun way to look cheery even when the days are a bit overcast. Add a cute bib necklace which has elements of vintage mixed in. Add a sexy femme edge with an over the knee boot (I love this pair) and of course a lush bag is a nice way to add a conversation piece that ensures that people will love you coming and going.
