The Olympics reminds us of the best of ourselves and following Gabby Douglas' story as well as seeing her actually win her individual and team metals makes us love her even more! Here at Kitten Lounge, we always thinking of styling people and since Gabby is young, I think of ways to dress fab people for their next event. I have to say that after seeing Gabby shine in her uniform, she deserves all the rest that she can get. I hesitate to say it but in NYC, we've had one of the best winters ever! In many ways, we've been able to leave the house with a lighter jacket on and layers. Since it's almost mid March, we need to continue thinking Spring and rocking as many layers as possible! I'm all about taking super cute looks and keeping it easy. Pair this grey tank from Splendid with these super cute skinny jeans from Faith Connexion which has a great rinse and distressing on it. Top it off with Rachel Zoe's tailored leather jacket which is definitely a nod to menswear and will make you look ultra femme. To take this look for casual runs to the office and then to go out for drinks and beyond, I have fab accessories that you can layer in! First off, I'm DROOLING over Burberry Prorsum's rich plum clutch which I have been seeing in the windows currently and is always a head turner. Pair this look with these hinged bracelets (love mine) from Alexis Bittar to add in a pop of jewels and you can never go wrong with a cork heel. I'm loving this paisley brown toned shoe which is a great neutral fro Theodora & Callum. Finally, I love rocking fab rings on my hand and this one by Charriol has a nice texture and that casual bling which can go from day to night!

I ended my first day of NYFW FW 2012/2013 at the Empire Hotel for a fabulous presentation of Emily Cho handbags. Lauren Rae Levy (LRL Group) who I always love seeing at the shows and in between, hosted a fun evening of presenting the collection and having the opportunity of being able to talk with the designer. As an Accessories Expert, I'm always looking for the next piece, brand and designer that should become apart of my must haves when I am curating as well as appearing on segments. This season's collection focused on jewel tone bags that are made of calfskin and are full of texture. In addition, I love that the models were styled with over the top cocktail rings (which I rock all the time) as well as hoodies and leggings that were in fun hues! What a great way to show how luxury can enhance the most casual of outfits! These are clutches that I definitely will include on this site and with my clients for future styling!

Growing up, my sister's closet was always a gem to run through. My style was preppy and conservative while hers was a lot more fun. I wanted to merge my style (great investment pieces that are core to the closet) with hers (surprise pop elements) that would make my look one that was super comfortable and chic. Borrowing items continued until I started to build my new wardrobe which became the beginnings of my dream wardrobe once I arrived to NYC! I always think about my Sister Closet and the importance of remembering to balance the aesthetic. I would define my look with great classics, boho chic style and more. My sister and I don't borrow from our closets as I have amazing showrooms that have opened up my world! My sister and I now share business ventures with one another and I love when she shows up to my events (upper left hand corner I hosted a phenomenal diamond event, lower left hand corner my sister came by with the launch of my collab shoe line at Robert Verdi's and lower right she was there for the 4th birthday of Kitten Lounge) or will work with me on photoshoots.

As different as we are in terms of some elements of our styles, we love the idea of having core basics! Navy is always super chic and we love the blazer which can go from preppy to sexy chic depending on how it's worn! I love this J Crew blazer. A few times when I have been on HSN for my segments, Molly Sims has been rocking it out with her line right before mine or after - loving this lariat style pearl necklace which blends prep with a sexy edge. A fun statement ring is an essential in my wardrobe and I love that my sister also expresses her style in this way as we are both focused on accessories - this ring by Mark Davis Bea is perfect in blending of materials and really making the cocktail structure of this piece as an added bonus to any look that you're looking to complete. Finally, those who follow my social networks saw me tweet out about these YSL Riviera Suede T Strap Wedges that I saw in the windows of Bergdorfs! These shoes are drool worthy and are cute additions to any look that you're rocking - they're sassy, preppy and in a sense it's like taking the French Riviera with you wherever your heels go! My Sister Closet sense still drives many components of my look but now she knows her actual closets are completely safe from me!

Fashion Week here in NY is a few days away and I have been immersed in Fashion Week coverage around the globe! It's only appropriate to highlight a fun show that took place during the 2012 Fall/2013 Winter Menswears shows earlier this month with Dean and Dan Stanton's line, Dsquared2! As we continue to bundle up, I loved seeing the line which rocked sexy suits which is always something that I can appreciate with classic and casual denim looks! I love that denim was accessorized with fun outerwear and amazing leathergoods (ladies this comes in handy as you can share a bag when going away on a weekend). Anytime Paul and I travel together, he loves when our items can fit in one bag which makes heading out easier! On the upper left hand corner Dean and Dan, the designers of this line, rock out a classic suit while their models hit the runway showcasing fabulous and flawless style!

I'm all about neutral tones and love rocking black and grey together as it's the cutest and chicest way to rock a style! I am a huge fan of boyfriend cardigans and lived in them last fall which means that they will be perfect for this season as well - Lola has the cutest one that has nice details. Pair this with a simple James Perse tee who has amazing soft and simple tees that are perfect to build your wardrobe. True Religion has a fab pair of grey super skinny leggings which are perfect for the season. We know that the LBD is a staple in our wardrobes and we've all seen that the Little White Dress is also a seasonless essential as well! Of course you can always pair it up with black or blush but you can also kick it up a few notches. We've been sampling Kanon Organic Vodka and we've been loving it! One of my fave ways to enjoy it happens to be a Bloody Mary and I have always been a fan of using things that I love as an inspiration for my outfit selections such as the LWD. The gorgeous orange hue made me think of my favorite stone - Carnelian as well as python in a fab orange and rust hue. I'm loving Theory's dress which is a fab sleeveless white and Grecian inspired dress!

When it comes to accessories, pair this look with Alexandra Beth's jasper necklace which look fabulous and can be worn with a number of looks from casual to dressed. Pair this with Bottega Veneta's clutch which has such a rich look that you'll have no problem holding it all night. Free People's Veda Stone Ring has another casual to luxe look that I'm loving and it has such an antiqued look. Finally, rock it out with Yves Saint Laurent's python wedge heels that are a fab neutral with pops of orange.

For the ultimate accessory at brunch, we couldn't leave you without sharing Kanon Organic Vodka (made from 100% organic wheat, distilled in a continuous, single column and mixed with fresh spring water - it has a light and aromatic taste with a warming feeling, but without the typical vodka burn) Bloody Mary's recipe which is super easy to make and refreshing!

Kanon Organic Vodka Bloody Mary

Yield: 1 quart pitcher

4 cups of organic tomato juice

1/2 tsp celery salt

2 tbsp soy sauce

2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce

2 pinches pepper

Sweet splash of Sriracha sauce

1/2 tbsp horseradish

Stir together and combine with 8 ounces Kanon Vodka. Serve over ice, garnish with celery and pickles, and enjoy!

Earlier this week I worked with a fabulous client who was looking for the best look that screamed Hamptons but was appropriate for a housewarming here in the city which has a roofdeck! Today's look is a version of the look that was created for her! I'm all about kaftans as there are so many options and they are my "must haves" for Summer 2011. TopShop has a fab serene blue that can be worn as a cover up over your fave bikini or paired with a cute tank top so that it is worn as a dress. If you feel that it is a little short, you can pair cute shorts and on cooler nights, how about a pair of leggings? Because the kaftan is the perfect mix of casual and dressy, it begs to be paired with fun accessories. I'm loving the fun peacock elements of jewelry with House of Harlow's peacock locket pendant and Free People's ring as well. In addition, everything can be evened out by popping in fun nude/blush tones. Love, love, love the fact that Jimmy Choo's clutch is the perfect item to pair with Alejandro Ingelmo's woven platform wedge pumps (I am obsessed with this designer and have been since Sept Fashion Week last year when he was on a Harper's Bazaar panel focusing on accessories) which are phenomenal. Regardless of how leggy you are, this is a great look and as always, I'm so happy to get pictures from my fab clients when they're set to have a fab night out (hopefully she remembers the fab gift she's supposed to bring and will enjoy dancing the night away with friends).
