You guys know that I love Dashing Diva. I have been getting my nails done there since 2003 or so! I have always loved how relaxed I feel when I'm there. Going from a super happy patron to someone who has attended their events and gotten to know the team including Robert and Alisha, it's nice to get a better understanding of my favorite salon and also seeing them step into new areas! I was so pleased to see a few things that have popped up over the past few days and had to share it with you!
Jennifer Hudson stopped by at my favorite location on 3rd Ave and 15th street to get her nails done for the shoot of the online video "SpotLight" (I love this song and can't wait to see this). For those who want to sport her look, she selected Lolly Lilac. Of course, one of Dashing Diva's newest members of the team (who I took video of during Fashion Week, backstage at Erin Featherston), Alisha Rimando the Head Nail Tech extraordinaire, worked on Jennifer's nails to make sure they were perfect for her shoot! What a star studded day!
The good news doesn't stop there as Dashing Diva continues to walk the pink carpet in the celebrity zone. Between now and Oct 15th, Dashing Diva has partnered with ABC Daytime and SOAPnet for a nationwide sweepstakes. Whether you're in LA or in NYC, participating salons will allow you to fill out a card to enter. While enjoying the salon between noon and 3pm and/or 5pm and closing, you will be able to catch up on all the details of your favorite ABC soaps including: All My Children, General Hospital and One Life to Live! There are so many things going on around Kitten Lounge that it's nice to have a round up. This is something that I will introduce starting today to keep you up to date! This week there will be tidbits from the first half of the month. Of course we had Fashion Week which brought such shows as Tracy Reese, Carmen Marc Valvo and more. We even went behind the scenes at the Erin Fetherston show to talk with Robert Cleary of Dashing Diva. Fashion Week also brought us up close and personal with Victoria's Secret's holiday presentation which was amazing. We even launched our music focus with Rachael Sage and of course right now, we are doing a giveaway that includes her special pack and you can still enter as well. In the midst of this, I celebrated my 29th birthday which was a lot of fun and who wouldn't love to end Fashion Week on that note! Once Fashion Week ended, we took a step down memory lane where we looked at some of our favorite toys that we played with; however, they have been reimagined by such celebrities as Courtney Cox and David Arquette - super cute. We are getting closer to the holidays so we started peeking into Halloween and I can't wait to share the goodies.
Of course, we can't talk about Kitten Lounge without talking about Paul! Our Food Editor is not only creating yummy posts such as his Avocado Squash but we will bring amazing posts starting this fall for weekend getaways. We are getting our calendars ready for long weekends which involve resorts, great foods and just getting out there with nature. I'm so excited to share more things with all of you but I just wanted to get everyone up to speed!
Much like Elle of Legally Blonde, when I am frustrated, you can find me running to Dashing Diva. I love that it's pink, girlie, always has a nice drink that you can enjoy sips and they're super clean and friendly. For the time that I'm there, I can be in the moment and just enjoy my thoughts. Now that I know one of the master minds of this great nail salon, I love them even more. Robert Cleary, the Direct of Product Development and Operations always has a smile and a strong passion for this amazing chain. I took a moment with him backstage at the Erin Featherson show to find out what's going on with this brand and what we should be on the lookout for.
