This week, we were so fortunate to have beyond amazing weather! I was able to rock flips flops, a maxi dress and a tank top! But the Spring is a mix of amazing weather, a bit of winter attempting to hang on and then that rainy period as well. You'll find yourself rotating through a number of looks that are weather specific. Today, it's a bit overcast and it's Friday! So with that in mind, this is a day of errands, wrapping up the week and more - I want to be comfy! Roll over the above images to see what I'm obsessed with at the moment. As you know, I'm a huge fan of grey and I love a great oversized top to keep me cozy and this one by Poison Ivy and available at Alloy is so great for a day like today. Keep it simple by pairing it with skinny jeans by Current/Elliott. In addition, accessorize the look with pops of coral and fab neutral hues via Coach, Dannijo, Clare Vivier, C Wonder, and Me&Ro.
Each month, I like to highlight what accessories I'm super excited about including within my wardrobe. With the weather moving into warmer temperatures, that means we'll lighten up the outerwear as well as shortening our sleeves. This means that there's no reason to spare a little love towards more arm candy, rocking fabulous heels, wearing super cute bags and more. When you roll over the above images, you'll find why I'm loving a number of accessories to rock with a number of styles including: Monika Chiang, Plukka, Christian Louboutin, Balenciaga and Indochine.
It's the first day of April and we know that there are bound to be some April Fools shennanigans throughout the day but this isn't one of them! Now that we're in step with spring, throughout the month I'll be sharing fabulous coral infusions in a number of ways as we continue to Spring into Fresh which is an overall theme for this month in general. It can be done in a number of ways with a range of hues within this fabulous shade!
ACCESSORIZE IN CORAL
Roll over the above images in order to see how we took a fabulous strapless dress and popped in some color while keeping the look simple and clean! In addition, make sure that you check out how fabulous the shoes are within this spread! Coral is such a great hue as it makes a number of skintones look amazing and brings a warming element to the overall look! Included within today's post, you'll find accessories to enhance your Quiksilver by Alice + Olivia, Alexis Bittar, Marissa Collections, Hugo Boss and Bottega Veneta to name a few!
A great color in your favorite accessory is also a nod towards a hue that could work with you in your makeup routine! With the Oscars taking place this weekend, there are bound to be a number of beauty looks that will be great takeaways. We'll be tweeting the looks of the runway on Sunday starting at 1:30pm EST and would love for you to share what you're looking forward to seeing, what you think will be trending or what you thought should have been added!
ACCESSORIES INSPIRATION
Personally, I'm loving Coral! This hue has quite a range as it can be a bold vibrant color as you would find in this Giuseppe Zanotti heels which is a vibrant pink with a slight red element in it all the way down to a hue that has more of a dust rose/dust blush in a toned down version of coral like these Steve Madden heels which are perfect to accent your fab pedi and ankles!
GET THE BEAUTY LOOK
With such a wide range and so many options (I don't even want to tell you how many lipglosses, shadows and blushes I have within this range of hues), there are a number of ways to bring this look into your face to warm up your skin and to create the sunkissed look that I love wearing when I am on TV segments or that you see your fave celebs rocking. With the nail polishes, if you're going to go coral it has to be bold and although Essie has a number of polishes within this hue that are just slightly different from one another but still having major impact, this one in Geranium is a fave without a doubt! This is perfect for the days of being out and about, hitting the beach and just a fun color in general.
The lips are an essential when I'm on air as I love to do a lip cocktail (mixing a number of shades together to get the perfect pout). Within lipglosses, I'm loving Glazed Lips in Sheer Deep Coral and I love the subtle nature of DuWop's Venom Gloss Coral Tree. For the ultimate in lip color, Yves Saint Laurent has the perfect stain in Extreme Coral. For a shade that's in the middle of vibrant and subtle hues, Tom Ford's True Coral is a great option as well. Line your lips or fill it in as a layer with Colorescience's lip pencil in Coral Life's a Peach.
It's all about the cheeks and having those amazing cheek bones with great blush. For subtle style mavens I suggest Bobbi Brown's Coral blush which has a bit of shimmer. For those who wish to go bolder, I suggest Revlon's Photo Ready Cream Blush in Coral Reef. As a side note, I use a number of corals on my cheeks so those with mid to darker skin tones shouldn't be afraid to have blush that fits in the dark pink to berry tones. In many cases, I actually mix is in with a bronze hued bronzer to tone it down so you have the hint of pink or coral hue coming out which makes your skin look illuminated!
It's that season! Everyone is trying to do a better work/life balance by getting things done while also ensuring that we meet with friends before the year closes. We make the right decision in taking care of those that we hold dear whether it's buying gifts, having lunches, sending cards and more. We love rocking out with fun looks as we know our days will be longer and with chilly temperatures on the other side, we know that it's a matter of time before we're somewhere cozy having the essential F's - food, friends/family and fun!
To look good no matter what, we want to ensure that we're ready for wherever our days take us! I'm loving this Coldwater Creek crinkled shimmer shirt which is so cute and has texture visually as well as physically. Pair this with a fab pair of skinnies by Joe's Jeans (I live in jeans from this brand and they never fall short of expectations)! Complete the look with a number of fab items including this Rachel Zoe faux fur coat which has such a chic look. Add a pop of color into this neutral look with this coral/rose medium satchel by Chloe. Add a few extra inches with Laurence Dacadewhich are black and gold and are stretch suede. Rock this ring with Daniela De Marchi which is bronze and quartz coral ring which is a favulous cocktail piece that looks amazing and brings in warmth to your overall look.
It's getting chilly out there - although our weather has been up and down with it feeling like Spring in Dec, you can be sure that we will need to cozy it up! Above are some of my favorite items that are a MUST for this time of year. I'm loving the Pom Beanie by Anthropologie as I think it's so cute and perfect for running around. When we hit those times during the year when it's grey and super cold, having this pop of coral is a nice site! I love wearing by Gypsyz by Gypsy05 as they keep my legs warm and are perfect for indoors! Pair them with leggings and fun shorts when you're home, it's a fab look. I LOVE wearing long fingerless gloves as I wear short sleeve tees year around and I like being able to type as I'm running around even outside. These gloves by Barney's are so chic and a fab charcoal color. I love an infinity scarf and this neutral heather/oatmeal one is perfect and available at Otte. When you're running around, there is nothing better then over the knee socks such as these by Roxy. Finally, glam up your warm look with this tied fox fur from Coach.
This Thanksgiving, we got a fab surprise, we actually saw the parade from our windows. I loved being able to see the preview as it made its way down 6th avenue! As many of you know, Hello Kitty is one of my favorite characters and seeing her balloon glide down the street was so much fun! As is typical during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (which was in its 86th year of running on a gorgeous day in NYC), there are a number of performances that take place. Carly Rae Jepsen sand one of her songs and bundles up while showcasing pops of color! Many times when people think of what they will wear, it becomes a little tougher when it comes to dressing for colder temperatures. To show pops of different colors, how about rocking spring/summer tones in the fall/winter - it's a great way to stand out and for Carly, it keeps her looking sweet!
I'm loving these Marc by Marc Jacobs coral leggings which are comfortable to stand at long periods on a float, traveling or shopping. When it comes to your outerwear, how can you not love this Michael Kors cape style, double breasted belted coat. I think this is such a timeless look and provides structure and comfort to the outfit. This way, she is able to perform while showcasing a specific style as opposed to one that suggests that she is wearing a coat to stay warm. Lengthen your leg and show the look pulled together with these over the knee boots by Steve Madden. We love that she is popping in a rocker style element to her look and these boots with their buckle detailing will assist in the look. If you're singing, you have to have a fab statement ring as your hand will be on the mike - so I suggest this multi stone ring by Stephen Dweck. Finally, a hat is a fab way to cap off your look. I am not a fan of the black hat that Carly wore and would have opted for this Mischa Lampert Beanie XL Hat which blends in grey (yes I love mixing neutrals) and this coral hue!
Gucci left me breathless as Milan hit its first series of shows during their Fashion Week! I love the coral and vibrant fuschia hues that hit the runway in a dramatic flair. These are closet stunners to be sure!
It's the weekend and whether you're enjoying amazing weather (as we are here in NYC) or just loving that you have an entire day ahead of you! A great way to take this day is to head to your nearest rooftop stat for your friend's brunch! Start it off with a fabulous red and white dress available at Free People which is vintage inspired! Pop on a pair of Falchi by Falchi Shoes (I love that there are red and coral strips within this shoe which add a little fun flair). I'm loving this hammered cocktail rin gavailable at Designs by Stephene. I also love adding in this gold plated cuff by Philippe Audibert which adds some pizzaz into the look. Finally, never show up empty handed this Bartenura Moscato is a great way to share with friends!
If you follow me on Twitter (@CocoaBebe), you know that I was at Webster Hall for my sister's East Meets West event which brought the groups (Rize & Fade) that she reps as a DIgital Publicist for an amazing show with various people in the industry! Now I typically don't go to this venue so how do you dress to be chic and yet super comfy as you sip your beer? This was an easy look for me and I wanted to highlight a few accessories for a recreation of the look OR to pick up so that you have them for a future look!
I'm obsessed with a brand called Aqua which is available at Bloomingdales (and I believe is an inhouse brand of this department store) This blazer is shirred at the 3/4 sleeve and is a nice ponte knit that can be dressed up and down! I headed over to H&M and picked up a simple pair of knit pants, this fab black and white striped tops that is about 4 inches longer in the back and layered under it is a black tank! I have had this sherbert orange hued scarf for a million years from Gap. My rings of choice as always is my onyx Ana Reign ring and my San Benito from Virgins, Saints and Angels. My wrap bracelet is from Linea Pelle and I love that is provides depth and texture - such a staple. I obsess over my Brahmin collection and this Nicolette Dream Bag from the blogger collection is chic, roomy and can definitely play hard! Finally, I have been chatting it up about wedges for weeks and have the perfect comfy pair from Miss Trish (who just had a meet and greet in Dadeland last weekend)! Although my tan pair is a one of a kind, she has a number of pieces that are within this look and I love this pink sherbert pair which is available! I love that it feels like you're on clouds and when you're running around on your feet for hours, this is a go to!
Whew what a busy week, I've been running back and forth between a number of appointments. Now that I have a new laptop thanks to my Sugar platform, I'm rocking a 17" in screen again. This means, it has to be accessorized. As many of you know, I'm a Brahmin fan and this laptop case is FABULOUS! True to the colors of the season, I am loving the shrimp/coral hue that it's available in (although they have brown and black as well). When I am meeting with my brands, I love having a fun dress that looks amazing but also keeps me comfortable. I love this kimono dress by Issa which is the perfect compliment to Spring. Place this Paige Novick pendant with this dress as it picks up the hue of the laptop case. Citrine by the Stones has a fun small wire intertwined bangle which looks fab with the sleeves of this dress. Finally, I love rings! I like the concept of mixed metals as there is no rule stating that you can only wear all gold or all silver. They are neutrals and can be interchangeable. Melissa Joy Manning has a cute set of alphabet rings and that's a fun piece to include in the look. For the pop of color, I'm all about Nam Cho's Bulls Eye Ring! This is a fab look whether you're at the office, doing a TV segment or meeting friends after work/on the weekend!
Tuesday, I'm off to LA for the week! I always love when I'm able to pack my bags and head out for a series of days where I get work done, meet people and do a number of other items! With the Oscars being this week, there are a number of fun activities that I will be able to attend as well! When it comes to traveling, it has to be all about comfort for sure. Since I am going in between temperatures, I love wearing a skinny jean such as the ones by LAgence. Pairing this with a simple grey tee from All Saints, allows me to fly and hit the ground running! Add a fun necklace such as this choker from Aurelie Bidermann adds such a much needed flair. I'm loving this color blocked trench in navy from Ivanka Trump!
More adornment can be found with additional items such as Azhar's black and white Contrarie ring which adds a special sparkle. Coach's Poppy collection brings in the classic horse and carriage aesthetic which has a nice rose hue to it. I'd cap this look off with Delman's patent leather ballet flat known as the Falon! I received this a few weeks ago thanks to the fab PR team at Delman! If you want to add a bit of color in, this is a great way to do it in a very simple way and allows you the utmost comfort when you're boarding your flight and then hitting the ground running!
Everyone is thinking about having a few days of down time wherever that may be for you! That means that at a moments notice, you never know where you're off to or when an overnight trip becomes one that could be a little longer. In these cases I pack up my weekender from Brahmin which is apart of their Melbourne Anywhere collection in this fabulously rich almond shade and I ensure that my fave 5's make it with me as I need to look refreshed no matter what the day or night holds!
Included in my bag of beauty tricks is a fun shade! Now we all know that I am all about Zoya's Indigo which is a fabulous blue with a glitter component in it but when I received Butter London's nail polish in Jaffa a vibrant orange/coral shade, it got me into thinking about upcoming spring vacations or winter vacations in Turks and Caicos (there soon). I definitely love the idea of embracing fun shades on holiday and I love that it's free of all the chemicals that you don't need on your nails or adding into the environment. In addition, I recently became super fond of Clairvoyant Beauty, another eco friendly line. Because I do a lot my eyes can get super tired and with pictures and having these be the window to my soul, I love that this line contains a product that is all about De-Puffing with it's Cucumber and Cranberry Eye Gel. It's refreshing and yet again making sure your skin is fab.
Don't leave the rest of your skin out without using Fresh's Brown Sugar Body Polish which is a must. It smells phenomenal but I believe weekly use (and of course using Palmer's Cocoa Butter afterwards ensures that your skin is soft and supple as if you just finished spaing. When it's about topical solutions, I'm all about having my atomizer of my fragrance of the moment so I'm not TSA concerned as I jet through the airport and I'm loving Frago's (Fragrance on the Go) Atomizer which comes in a number of hues! It's all about the gloss at the end of the day and Tom Ford's lip gloss in Pink Guilt is sultry perfection and perfect for wherever you're off to.
ABC's Modern Family was a win before an award even went out (amazing that all the adults in this show were nominated with the show taking away an award for Outstanding Comedy for the second year in the row, wins for writing, directing and also for supporting actor and actress Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen) Sofia Vergara stunned on the red carpet in a chiffon custom dress Vera Wang. Not only was she wearing a vibrant coral color one-shouldered crepe gown with chiffon draping and tumbled tulle (which I have to say that although red is amazing, when you're walking a red carpet you may want to rethink that choice - interesting to see that it was a dominant color theme of the night) but her accessories were phenomenal. While I watched the red carpet coverage, I thought she had accessories by Columbian designers; however, it seems that she is rocking jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz Jewelry (I'll have to double check). She rocked Casadei heels and her makeup looked phenomenal.
Makeup artist Kayleen McAdams, worked her gorge look by using COVERGIRL (who sponsored Kitten Lounge's NYFW 4th Anniversary Cocktail Party) by starting with her face and using COVERGIRL Invisible Concealer in Honey which was place under her eyes and wherever else she needed it. Next, COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Foundation in Soft Honey (#255) was applied and set with COVERGIRL’s Clean Pressed Powder in Warm Beige (#145). To finish this base, Kayleen used COVERGIRL’s Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Plush Peach and set that cream blush with COVERGIRL’s Classic Colors Blush in Natural Glow.
The eyes truly allow Sofia to pop as the diva that she always is (I also love the prep that was used for this as I am a huge fan of the Queen collection. Kayleen used COVERGIRL Queen Collection 1-Kit Eyeshadow in Hot Toffee in the crease, COVERGIRL Liquiline Eyeliner in Black Fire along the top and bottom lash line, COVERGIRL Queen Collection 1-Kit Eyeshadow in Black Tie along the top and bottom lash line to set the eyeliner and completed this portion with COVERGIRL Lash Blast Volume mascara in Very Black. Finally, COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipcolor in Rapture (#280) was applied to give this perfect look that was red carpet ready.
Every award season coverage and looks are better than the previous one - which is always something that I hope for. As a whole, I'm glad to see the installation of the Stiletto Cam that took place on E's Red Carpet as well as everyone stepping it up so that accessories took a much bigger stage then they have in the past.
Congrats to Sofia who is having the launch of her line later on this week as well as to the cast of Modern Family. In addition, here are ways that you could achieve the accessories that Sofia did even if you don't have the connection of the phenomenal Columbian designers that Sofia wore - more deets on that (you'll see in today's post I am giving you an idea of how you can complete the look). As always, this post will be updated to let you know who she's wearing!
I used to love sherbert growing up as it was all the swirls and tones of colors. My fave was orange and whatever the flavor pink was. When it gets hot outside, the legs have to show and the arms have to be out and today, I'm inspired by the simplicity of the faint hues of sherbert. Today is my boyfriend's birthday and yet there are so many things to do that I am still running around as this week has been so busy! I love this romper which allows you to stay cool but it's also a little sassy so you can do everything you need to do and yet still look super cute to end the night with drinks! This is a fab pinky/coral color which looks amazing when you mix it with other pink, gold and citrus tones. To this end, I am loving, Tuleste Market's Circle Pendant which has an amazing goddess effect in all of its golden and orange tones. Pair this with the amazing Jamie Joseph Fossilized Coral Ring and you can never go wrong with simply Christian Louboutin peep toes!
As you know, I have spent the past few days in Florida! I began my press trip in South Beach at the Delano, hung out in Orlando with my bestie at the Happiest Place on Earth and then hanging out in Ft Lauderdale! I definitely needed some time away and anytime I'm in Florida, I'm always in awe of the fab colors and rich tones. I decided to bring in these coral, agate and turquoise pieces as they are so Florida! They remind me of my trip as I head back home and get closer to a number of trips that will be taking place over the next few days. These can be paired with jeans, maxis and so much more. They're also seasonless so don't feel like you can't wear them beyond the spring and the summer!
Notes from Paris is a new series of posts from Valerie Nahmias, Beauty Editor of Femina Magazine in Paris. Brought together by their mutual friend and fashion photographer, Franco Lacosta, her posts will be featured each month bringing us her insights on beauty from products to fabulous tips! Today she lets us in on beauty's true power - Freedom!
Today is my first post...when Kimmie asked me to contribute to her already fabulous blog, I said to my self: Let's talk about the power of lipstick and the freedom that we get from it.
After all, this is what I do... My name is Valerie , I work as a beauty editor in Paris and lipstick is to me what candies are to children;"YUMMYS"
Never underestimate the power of beautiful lips! A well define mouth with rich sumptuous lips can get you what you want! Remember that the skin of the lips is very delicate, the perfect care routine involves gently exfoliating, a nourishing balm and getting into the habit of drinking enough water to hydrate it from the inside.
I love color that makes you feel empowered. A dab of lipstick on your cheekbone gives a natural blush - Grandma's secret! The best way to create a natural glow? To apply the color just after the skincare cream, on a well hydrated skin. Without this, the make-up is dull.
Lipstick…is every woman secret weapon!! We must choose them by love and necessity. Formulas that nourish your lips, color that enhances your skin tone and illuminates the pupil of your eyes:That's Magic!!. I am a fan of the « YSL Rouge Volupté », because of his nutri-protective vegetal complex, his delightful texture saturated of pigments, his golden metallic packaging and his YSL logo. The « Red Muse » color is out of stock? No probleme, the new trend color is the N°27« Rose Paris », just the perfect hue!! A super fresh coral, elegante and young, the same color as the cabochon of the perfume “Paris”, a fabulous fragrance of Yves Saint Laurent that was presented at the Autumn-Winter’s 1983 Fashion shows.
Color is always the way to express how we feel at any moment.... For me, Coral Lipstick is sublime, strawberries macaroon from "Ladurée" inspires me as well… but the real questions goes out to you.. What is the right color for you ? « With what color do you feel is your best? What is your favorite flower ? Do you really love that spécific « Paris » pink or are you an « Unconditional Red »?
Just be all of you ...or nothing at all!!!

Yesterday (minus the rain) the weather was pretty nice! It made me think of the fact (unless I'm too hopeful) that Spring could sneak up on us sooner than we think! I wouldn't mind having a longer spring season! Regardless, trench coats are a staple and although the classic tan color is something that we should all have, we should definitely branch out. I find when I'm running around to Editor's appointments and more, that I rarely take my coat off unless I plan on staying for a bit. With that said, my outerwear becomes my outfit for the day.
So with that in mind, I am including a super fab color and great accessories that will work with the coat and whatever you happen to wear! I love Michael Kors bag which has a great texture and really makes this look pop in such a subtle way. In addition, I love that Diane Von Furstenberg has branched out into eyewear. The same classic look that she has brought to her apparel comes in these glasses and allows all of us to embrace our inner Jackie O's. Finally, it's all about the ring and I love that this incorporates my love for the beach with the mixture of a seashell and coral! This is cocktail luxe to the max!
White House Black Market has been around for a number of years. Whether you've seen these boutiques in the city or you have them in your local malls, they stand out due to the fact that their products are black and white! I have to say that in the past, it wasn't a store that I visited a lot even though I love various items that are available in black. If you noticed during our Holiday Gift Guide, we included various pieces that were perfect for holiday parties! I have to say that after a number of years, I became a fan!
On today's post, I have included a fab video of items that you should check out for Spring! You'll notice great looks that are perfect for brunch, nights out and much more. In addition, you'll notice that in addition to their typical black and white colors, there will be pops of coral as well. What a great way to think about what pieces you should be thinking about as you evaluate what spring will mean for your wardrobe!
