This time last year, we had the freaky snow that came right before Halloween and now on the East Coast we're dealing with a hurricane (in the midwest there was an earthquake that came in at 3.9!) Yesterday we were out braving Sandy to stock up and I have to say there are times when an umbrella isn't the best thing when there's wind running around! But if you are able to rock an umbrella in this weather, Marc Jacobs can definitely complete the look. With the rest of the week being rainy, it's a pretty key accessory. I'm obsessed with Ahnu rainboots which came thanks to me attending Pamela Pekerman's Well Accessorized for the Holidays. I have to say that these are super comfy and yet fit your feet in such a way that you don't feel like you have a clunky boot. When the rains hit, you want items that are perfect for getting wet - this leather shopper tote from Hunter Boot is amazing and can be worn with this rubber watch from Swiss Army watch. Finally, I'm loving that there is no reason to not look super chic in this inclimate weather by Burberry trench coat with a hood! Together this looks super cute and ensures that your items will not be drenched! Stay dry and safe as we continue on with Hurricane Sandy.
Arguably one of Anna Wintour's and Vogue's biggest night is the Met Ball (also known as the Oscar's for the East Coast). This is a night where everyone steps it up and although I loved a number of looks that hit yesterday's live streamed Red Carpet, I think without a doubt that Beyonce definitely had the best look! We know that Beyonce always stuns and this figure hugging dress is an accessory in and of itself and I'm loving the black to purple feathers! Check out more amazing appearances by visiting Vogue.com (if you want to continue looking at the fab dress from Beyonce from various angles, these pictures are courtesy of Young, Black and Fabulous)!
For those of us on the East Coast we have been getting minute to minute updates about Hurricane Earl (how is he going to show up on the last weekend of the summer) and it seems that today is absolutely gorgeous! So it's perfect to grab your bikini and for me and my friends, we're heading out to Fire Island to get some sun and to see Shontelle perform! You guys know that we covered her last year, she was apart of She's the First which we were media sponsors for and now she is doing this concert in conjunction with Housing Works and MTV so it's a super worthy cause!
We have been talking about fall but today I do believe is the last day that we will talk about summer treasures; however, many of us will dip into our summer closets for a few more weeks as our temperatures are still high. In fact if you travel, you still do this as well. Later this month, I will be in Cancun and then next month I will be in the Dominican Republic - so I'm always on the hunt for the cutest bikinis possible. Above, I'm all about orange as we're going to Fire Island today. I love this Gottex bandeau because it's different and I will be attending their Fashion Week show as well (oh please let me see Rosa Cha too as I am still awaiting invites for a few shows). I'm loving this Tory Burch clutch as well as I'm a huge fan of Rattan and this can be worn poolside, at the cabana and then for a night out. Of course I am never without a pair of Marc Jacobs and I think a person can only be dressed when they have a pair of Jimmy Choos on their feet!
