Trendy Thursdays ~ Silver Disco Beauty

As you're reading this, I'm already on my flight jetting to Charleston to style Expatriate Clothing for their runway show during Charleston Fashion Week. It's going to be a quick trip but definitely fun to be in a different environment for awhile. What I do love about traveling no matter how long it is, is that you can have a number of fun beauty items that you can try on when you're in a new climate. The same can be said when you're heading out for a fun night out, sometimes you start looking for or purchasing items that work within the theme that you're looking for when it comes to having a great night! Today's post focuses on silver and how fab it is to include in your look.

SHOE INSPIRATION

Today's look was inspired by these fabulous Christian Louboutin heels which are peep toe, wedges and espadrilles. Not only will you be in trend because they are snake embossed - but they're perfect to be worn with a number of looks. Since these are classic and timeless, you'll want to check out other items that are highly suggested.

GET THE BEAUTY LOOK

Roll over the images to find out why you need the above items to complete your beauty look! Whether it's beauty items, skincare or just ensuring that you're always put together, I think that you will find something that works for you! Silver is a great alternative to rocking gold looks (another alternative that you can consider is bronze).

Trendy Thursdays ~ Iridescent Beauty

I'm not into overt sparkle but a fab and subtle iridescence, I'm all about that without a question! I love that it translates well whether you're talking about day or night. These are some of my fave beauty items that look well on a number of skin tones and add a bit of pop to the overall look! Today's spread focuses on two of my favorite things - eyeshadow, which I typically do not wear but when I feel there is a need to be made up, this is my go to. The other, my essential beauty accessory - nail polish and as always preferred in a rich dark color with a bit of shimmer in it!

ACCESSORIES INSPIRATION

All of my faves are inspired by this fabulous Dara Ettinger Sharon Geode Sliced Cocktail Ring which has a great neutral with a fabulous mix of colors that bring out little elements of your personality and what you want others to know about you. As always my ring is one of my main accessories to rock as I think it's a great conversation piece and it sets the tone of my look and gives a lot of indication into my personality.

GET THE BEAUTY LOOK

Eyeshadow is something that I love but in my 5 mins get up and go routine, rarely do you see me rocking it day or night which is interesting as my eyes are definitely something that I focus on. But when it's a moment that I need to step it up whether day or night, you'll see me rocking mega notice me eyeshadow OR when I am doing my appearances or segments. I am a huge fan of what is called the Marble look. This is because it's fun to mix it with other hues when I'm feeling my inner makeup artist and yet I can just wear it on its own as it's already infused with a number of hues. Nobody does it better then Laura Geller with her Baked line. I have been wearing it for years and I feel it's an essential. Other faves include Giorgio Armani's Maestro quad eyeshadow - which has a great pop of blue and I love that charcoal hue which is one of my faves to wear. For their take on marbelized, Armani Beauty's Eyes to Kill has a great golden tone with a pop of bronze. Bobbi Brown has a fab metallic hue as well which is more of a gold - think fun disco chic. Finally everyone needs that bronze look as worn alone it smouldering and when layered with other eyeshadows it's super decadent! Nars' eyeshadow in cream is an essential within my cosmetic case.

When it comes to nail polish, you'd laugh if you saw how many colors I have and how many hues I have that are only slightly different from one another. I have a series of colors that I love to wear and they all tend to be in the dark spectrum but the amount of variety that I have within this area is pretty eye opening. In terms of variety, there are hues that I have that I tend not to wear unless it is being requested by someone for something that I'm working on. For those that like a great neutral, Deborah Lippmann which is Naked. A great toned down gold shimmer is Essie's Good as Gold. Now of course, when I'm not asked to wear a specific hue, then I love going to my faves. Butter London is one of my favorite brands to wear (but you'll also see me rocking the other two as I think they have great coverage, last for a great amount of time and they look AMAZING). They have such a range of color and this fabulous green shimmer has the bling effect with a great rich hue. If I'm not in a high shimmer/rich hue then I will go the other way with a color that is so dark that it has tones of black in it with a shimmer so it doesn't have a matte effect.

Trendy Thursdays ~ Kaleidoscope Beauty

I love my beauty trunks as there are a number of goodies that are in there for any given situation. Since I'm always receiving mascaras, eyeshadows and more prior to their release, I know that whatever look I'm going for is bound to be in one of cases! With that said, sometimes I go for what speaks to me in theory - it's not even lifestyle specific. Right now I'm definitely loving a few pieces that will be included in future outings from traveling, brunch and just being out and about.

ACCESSORIES INSPIRATIONS

My inspiration comes from this fabulous multi colored cocktail ring which reminds me of a kaleidoscope from Sharon Khazzam who is known for her one of a kind pieces. I love a great ring and many of you know that it's my signature without a doubt. This ring has a number of colors in it which also inspired me when I'm thinking of looking great for whatever the occasion happens to be.

GET THE BEAUTY LOOK

Last week, I attended HSN's Oz Preview which had a number of brands that had created products for the launch of the movie which is coming out on Friday (so excited). Urban Decay created two kinds of color palettes and I have been loving the one I received which embodies Glinda the Good Witch! The collection comes with eyeshadows, eyeliner and a lip pencil. It's such a great number of hues and I love that everything (minus the lip pencil) can be stored within the case. Another eyeshadow favorite (which is perfect for smoky eyes) of mine is Sue Devitt and although I have the purple version of this, the green Marine Minerals is definitely on trend and a great series of hues to have. Another eyeshadow that I love is YSL's Ombre in Topaz Blue! When I feel that it's a bit bright, I love blending it in with charcoal. Another beauty fave that pulls tones of the ring into this selection is Deborah Lippmann's Ruby Slippers which is a rich garnet with a bit of shimmer.

Obviously great skin is maintained skin! I LOVE cleansing wipes and have a number of brands I use that are amazing in a number of ways. I also carry a to go version with me as there are times where I have to change from one makeup look to another - these Sephora Express Cleansing Wipes are perfect! I think it can never be said enough but SPF regardless of whether the sun is out, regardless of the season and DEFINITELY regardless of your skin tone is an essential. I just started trying out Murad's Age-Proof Suncare Oil Free Sunblock. I love that it has pom in it and is great coverage for the skin.

Trendy Thursdays ~ Rich Tones Comes to Beauty

Last week ended a series of projects that were focused on the beginning of the year and with a lot of them closing and transitioning into new projects to start, I had to take a bit of a breather from things and seek a little inspiration after going to a few meetings and events. There was just enough time to take a little personal time and to see what was out there. This time of year is amazing as you're getting items from Spring, carryovers of items from the fall/winter that you may not have received and of course, you start thinking of items that should be hitting your closet! With my initial focus being boots (which didn't happen) I decided to have an open mind to find whatever would catch my eye!

ACCESSORIES INSPIRATIONS

I walked away with a fabulous pair of heels thanks to the amazing sales that took place at Lord and Taylor. Getting these Joan and David Quella heels which are a mixture of burgundy/berry, a mossy green and skate grey in snakeskin obviously gives me ideas on how my accessories can inspire items to add into my beauty case. Joan and David reminds me of classic heritage heels - it makes me think of looking in my mom's closet growing up and seeing heels that were in an array of hues and in my favorite magazines.

GET THE BEAUTY LOOK

With such a mixture of hues there are fab items in your local counters or online that you can purchase to bring this into your beauty case. Butter London is not only a nail polish brand but they also have lip glosses as well - I love how rich their hues are and both allow you to rock the burgundy tone whether you choose Come to Bed Red (the polish) or Primrose Hill Picnic (the lipgloss). Yves Saint Laurent also has two products that are fabulous their Volume Effect Faux Cils Burgundy Mascara and Eyeliner in Moss is another way to rock these hues. Burberry makes a number of grey hues available with this eyeshadow palette. Another great eyeshadow option is from Giorgio Armani and is a mixture of grey and a bit of green mixed in (which reminds of these heels even more).

Finish the look with these great finds. Smashbox keeps your lips richly hued in this burgundy shade. Rock these Slate nails by RGB And finally, pop in a bit of green with this waterproof and retractable eyeliner in green from the Sephora Collection!

Mingling Mondays: Awards Season 2013 ~ Amy Adams

Hitting the red carpet is a dream and even more so when you're at the Oscars! Amy Adams, continued the theme of a dream with this fabulous neutral Oscar de la Renta dress which is full of whimsy. Although I love this dress and the grey tones, I'm still not convinces that this was the right dress for Amy in terms of the hue (I would have loved seeing her wear it in a toned down gold or any color that would have a pop in it as it's hard to pull off a neutral depending on your tone/undertones). She completes her look with fabulous diamond earrings and a bracelet from Mouawad which makes the entire look even more regal!

To get Amy's beauty look, she has Chanel and Celebrity Makeup Artist Stephen Sollitto to thank for this! You can create the same effect when you want to have this same look. Below, Stephen let's you know how he created it and of course, what he used.

INSPIRATION:

My inspiration is always a combination of the girl, the dress, the occasion and our feeling the day of the event. Since the gown is a pale slate, I wanted Amy's face to have subtle color. I thought a palette of plums, taupes and pinks would be
perfect for her. This is no specific look, just a stunning overall appearance with focus on her eyes.

SKINCARE:

Her skin was given a good dose of hydration with CHANEL Hydra Beauty Serum followed by CHANEL Sublimage Essential Regenerating Fluid and CHANEL Sublimage La Crème Yeux. I find that by moisturizing well, the foundation melts into the skin rather than drying on top of it. If her skin doesn't look healthy, you distract from the whole look. CHANEL Hydra Beauty Serum protects and helps the skin achieve optimal moisture levels, while CHANEL Sublimage, the most luxurious cream you will ever use, delivers the moisture. This step is just as important as I want Amy's skin to be at its best.

FOUNDATION:

I used a combination of CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-‐Light Skin Perfecting Sunscreen Makeup Broad Spectrum
SPF15
in 20 Beige on the high planes of the face and added a little CHANEL Perfection Lumiere Long-‐Wear Flawless Fluid Sunscreen Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF15 through the center of the face to give a velvety complexion. I apply this with a damp
sponge so the application can be gentle and sheer leaving Amy's well moisturized skin to breath.

BLUSH:

On the apples of her cheeks, I lightly dusted CHANEL Powder Blush in Rose Petale, which is a perfect pink so she
looks flush with color, but not overpowered by it. I then added Poudre Signée De Chanel Illuminating Powder on the high cheekbones, a tiny amount on the bridge of the nose and the heart of her lips to add dimension and illumination. This effect is really beautiful and I love that it enhances how skin looks in photographs.

EYES:

Amy's eyes were the focus today. We thought an ethereal smokey eye using plums and taupes would be softer and
perfect match for the dress. I swept her whole lid with the pale pink shade from CHANEL Quadra Eye Shadow in
Mystic Eyes
. This just gives me a blank canvas and a clean eye to work with but adds just a hint of sheen. Next, I lined her inner
upper and lower lids with CHANEL Precision Eye Definer in Brun. I did this first so it would blink away as we continued. Next, I lined
her upper lash line with the same pencil, smudging it out with a small brush. Over that pencil I swept this beautiful reflective shadow CHANEL Illusion D'Ombre in llusoire. This smudged the eye even more, softening yet deepening the color. I swept this
out to the corners making sure to blend. Lastly, in the very outer corners -‐ right in the lash line -‐ I tapped the deep plum color from CHANEL Quadra Eye Shadow in Raffinement with a flat brush into her lashes darkening the root and the corners of her
eyes. Under her lower lash line, from corner to corner, I brushed the taupe color from this quad. Then with a straight flat brush, I
ground the muted lavender from this palette into the lower lashes. You're building the eye out here and each color is important.
The end result is subtle drama.

MASCARA:

I curled the lashes and added two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in Noir. I always use waterproof
mascara on so it stays all night. I added a few individual lashes in medium and small to thicken the lashes and add some drama without having to go too dark with the shadow.

LIPS:

I used CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Pygmalion (Available May 2013) on her lips for an
easy, effortless hint of pink. For a bit of reflection, I did a light coat of CHANEL Glossimer in Eden (Available May ) over it. This adds a bit of glamour with out stealing focus.

Mingling Mondays: Awards Season 2013 ~ SAG Awards Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington of ABC's Scandal never disappoints! I also feel that if there's a person who can rock the heck out of a color, she does it and is always a vision in white! Kerry stunned on the SAG Award's red carpet as she made her way inside to be one of the presenters of the night in a show where actors vote for other actors. Decked out in an embellished ensemble by Rodarte, she completed the look with a classy Chanel makeup look.

Snazzy Sundays: Awards Season 2013 ~ SAG Awards Julie Bowen

I love when stars rock fabulous looks and it seems so true to their personal image! Julie Bowen of ABC's Modern Family looked amazing in Johanna Johnson in a black leather gown (on trend) with embellished cap sleeves from their Spring Summer 2013 Red Carpet Collection. I'm obsessed with this designer and I always love when looks that hit the runway, make it onto the red carpet. Although I love how it looked when it was presented, I do like how Julie made it her own. As always, I let you know how you can get the beauty look as this is perfect for NYFW, Valentine's Day or anytime you want to step it up! All of these items can be obtained at Avon as you know I love sharing finds from here as I am a Brand Ambassador for the brand. As more updates of this look are known, this post will be updated.

Makeup artist Heather Currie complemented Julie’s stunning sultry black leather dress with a subtly sexy cat eye and a soft, romantic pink lip. Here are Heather's steps to get the look:

Face

Currie kept Julie’s skin looking dewy and fresh by applying Avon Be Blushed Cheek Color in Powder Pink on the apples of her cheeks.

Eyes

Currie used Avon Irresistibly Sexy Eyeshadow Palette in Bombshell to bring depth and smokiness to Julie’s eyes and add a little shimmer to pick up the glimmer on the jewel's on Julie's dress.

The inner rims of Julie's eyes were lined with Avon Glimmersticks Eyeliner in Cosmic Brown, and the tops of her eyelids with Avon Ultra Luxury Eyeliner in Black. She then smudged the black liner into Julie’s eyeshadow to create a subtle cat eye and finished the look with a coat of black Mascara.

Lip

In order to create a romantic lip that would complete Julie’s look, Currie swiped two coats of Avon's NEW Totally Kissable lipstick in Lovey Dovey on Julie’s lips. No gloss was used in order to keep the lip color soft and rich at the same time.

Trendy Thursdays: Pre NYFW Beauty Prep ~ Paul Innis

Avon's Makeup Artist, Paul Innis Gets Us NYFW Ready

With NYFW days away, I always think about how to rock fun makeup looks that will look amazing from sitting at the tents to a number of activities that follow during this time! As you know, I'm a Brand Ambassador for Avon and I absolutely adore, their Makeup Artist, Paul Innis. Who better then him to tell me about great looks that can be worn and of course how to get it!

Get the Look – Purple Pop

During Fashion Week, sometimes you need a bold and dramatic look that will turn a lot of heads! For this look I took inspiration from my mother and the way she wore makeup in the 90's. This is definitely a look for someone who isn't afraid of a little color!

Start by using Avon's 8-In-1 Eye Palette in Water Colors. Using the lilac shade in the palette, sweep the shadow from the base of the lashes to your brow bone.

Take the medium blue shade and fill in a little above the eye crease to the base of the lash line. Using the darker blue shadow, line the lower lash line on top and under the eyes.

Add Avon Glimmersticks Eye Liner in Blackest Black all around the lash line, both top and bottom, and then smudge it with Avon’s Ergonomic Eye Liner Brush. Complete the eye by rimming the inside of your entire eye with your liner and applying Super Drama Mascara in Black to your lashes.

Add a nude lip using Avon Ultra Color Rich Lipstick in Sheer Naturale and coat with Ultra Color Rich Brilliance Lip Gloss in Pink Icicle.

Finish off this dramatic look by adding blush to your cheekbones. A strong eye and nude lip can wash you out, so to prevent this apply the right amount of blush once the rest of the look is complete.

Get the Look – Kiss & Makeup

Fashion Week can be so hectic and exhausting and this stunningly simple look is quick and easy to apply so you wont be late for any shows! This look is inspired by natural beauty with just a hint of flirty sex appeal.

Apply a moisturizer and foundation best suited to your skin type and tone.

Set the look with Avon Ideal Flawless Loose Powder. Then add a cream blush, such as Avon Be Blushed Stick - for oily skin try a powder blush like Avon Ideal Luminous Blush.

Take Avon Eyeshadow Duet in Dusk or Maize. Use the neutral color and apply all over the eye lids and into the crease.

Use Avon Glimmersticks Eye Liner in Cosmic Brown and smudge into the top of your eye. Finish with a light coat of Super Drama Mascara in Brown Black.

To finish this stunning look, use a vibrant and flirty shade to make you look extraordinary! The model in this image is wearing Ultra Color Rich Lipstick in Pretty.

Trendy Thursdays ~ Face Charts

I love this time of year as it's glam on another level! You get to kick off the year with awards season, a number of trade shows showcase what is coming into the market for the fall and of course you have a nunmber of Fashion Weeks globally and that's just the overall calendar within the Fashion industry! There are so many organizational methods taking place to keep everyone on the same page as companies are involved in a number of events and Face Charts are a life saver.

Years ago when I first modeled, I don't believe it registered with me that they were being used as I just sat in the chair and let the magic happen around me; however, when I began to cover backstages of NYFW or attended shoots, I realized that these face charts were not only there so that people had a guide of how the look would be but it was a great way to ensure that the makeup look complimented the clothing. When I launched Shoe Week last year during NYFW, it was much easier to ensure that the vision I had for each runway show was being communicated as I was able to look at the face chart that our makeup artist created! Finally, I even create them for myself for events that I am doing or when I am going on HSN - so simple and easy!

This is a look that was created for Erin Heatherton when she attended the CFDA Fashion Awards and is actually a signature look that I have worn off and on as I love that it has a smouldering eye and a great pop of pink lip, I always call this my "Sun Kissed" look when I am doing TV as it's warm, totally works even for early morning call times (on HSN) and it's super chic! You can find blank face charts for your needs and then play around with creating your desired look!

For those that want to know how to re-create the look from this chart, here is how you can recreate it courtesy of Victoria's Secret Beauty:

FACE

Get this Bronzed Bombshell look by applying VS PRO Radiant FX Face Illuminator everywhere the sun naturally hits: forehead, tops of cheekbones, bridge of nose and tip of the chin.

Lightly dust VS Makeup Baked Mineral Bronzing Powder in Goddess on temples, under cheekbones, and to the tip of the chin for extra sunkissed radiance followed by VS Makeup Luminous Blush Duo in Starlet.

EYES

Define upper and lower lashlines with VS Makeup Eyeliner in Dark Chocolate. Use a flat, firm liner brush to blend and soften the line.

Apply VS Makeup Shimmer Eye Shadow in Chestnut from lashline to crease. Next, apply more color to the outer corner of the eye and blend up and out towards the brow.

Using fingertips, dab Shimmer Eye Shadow in Taupe Love to the center of the lid. Add a dab of the shadow to the inner corner for an eye-opening effect.

Finish with two coats of VS Makeup Triple Drama Mascara in Blackest Black.

LIPS

Complete the red carpet look with a swipe of VS Makeup Lip Gloss in Intimate.

Mingling Mondays: SS2013 Trends ~ Classic Style

Now admittedly, the American Ballet Theatre Spring Gala took place here in NYC back in May at the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center and one of my favorite housewives from Bravo's, Real Housewives of Atlanta, Cynthia Bailey looked so timeless when she hit the red carpet this summer! I had a brief moment of meeting her weeks after this event in New Orleans at Essence Music Festival at the My Black is Beautiful Booth where I was a celebrity stylist at this P&G booth on behalf of Crest as I am a Brand Ambassador for Crest 3D White! She was absolutely stunning and has amazing skin! I love the plunging neckline of this color blocked dress that also huge her curved and how she mixes her metals together. As an Accessories Expert, I am always focused on styling the right touch for this look. As a fan of natural pieces, I have fallen in love with Kimberly McDonald and am obsessed with this large geode ring with rose cut diamonds (my signature piece is an oversized large cocktail ring by Ana Reign and when I see people that can carry this look off, I'm always looking for was to add it in) as well as her geode necklace! Usually, I love mixing designers but these pieces are perfect together.

I left dramatic eyes and that's something that Cynthia knows a lot about! I would definitely use NARS' Night Collection Eyeshadow Night Breed and Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Intense Eyeshadow which has a fabulous blend of gold and black.

Trendy Thursdays: Color of the Year Beauty

Last week we shared fabulous news about Pantone picking the Color of the Year 2013 - Emerald which is vibrant, fresh and a great way to infuse your wardrobe year around. We shared how it works in apparel and accessories and we couldn't lead out beauty! Today we showcase just a few items that you'll want to have when working with this hue. As noted in our Holiday Last Minute Guide which re-launched yesterday, we shared Laura Mercier's Creme de Pistachio Body Souffle as well as the Body Scrub which will leave your skin refreshed and moisturized. She also created a fabulous green eyeshadow known as St Germain which is great to wear alone or to be worn within an exotic smokey eye! Continue with your face to keep it primed. Although Smashbox's Photo Finish Foundation is not green in color, we did love the packaging and find it to be a must. Finally, we're team Butter London all the way and love (although it's not Emerald per se) British Racing Green which is a fabulous rich green color with a bit of shimmer in it - perfect for the holidays and definitely a hue you'll see Team Kitten Lounge rocking on our way to Exhale's Core Fusion class later on this morning.

Trendy Thursdays: Kimmie's 5s ~ NYE Beauty

This weekend is New Year's Eve - can you believe it? What is it about this holiday that brings low stress and has the most fun possible? I think it's that you can be as glam as you want to be and no one questions it whether you're off to a big bash or doing something smaller - glam comes with the territory! In that vein, today's post was inspired by Eugenia Kim's super sassy earmuffs that make me think of fab shades and hues. In today's Kimmie's 5s, we explore some of my faves!

Start out the night with Diptyque's Do Son Shower Gel which has tuberose, berries and flowers in it. This is a great way to ensure that you're night will start off amazing since you'll be aromatically in the right direction. For a fabulous look, it's about the eyes. I'm loving Bobbi Brown Black Ruby Sparkle Eye Palette which gives you quite a few options for a smoky eye. Bring in some of the old Hollywood vibe with YSL's eyeliner. Lips look amazing with Tom Ford's beauty line and with a rich hue which is perfect for lipstick. Finally, rock fab dark nails with Butter London which has a fab black polish which looks amazing no matter where you spend this evening!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Holiday Glam in a Flash

When it comes to my go to holiday look, I don't mind being a bit more bold then I normally would! I'm all about subtle hues for sure when it comes to my face but I love a bold eye. Here are some of my personal faves that I don't leave without and always have in my bag especially during the holiday season in case I need to spruce up quickly! Besides using my new found fave foundation from Dior as a base which hydrates my skin, I either use my 24/7 Urban Decay Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Kohl but my backup is also Sephora's kohl pencil as I like having a powerful black eye. With eyeshadow, you can't go wrong with Givenchy which has a number of fun hues that you can wear alone or can pair with one another to make a fabulous smoky eye. I believe you can't look amazing without bronzer - it doesn't matter what the temperature is, it's a necessity and gives you that natural glow so Lancome's compact is a great one although I love using a number of them but tend to stick to Laura Geller's Baked versions. Lips in a natural hue always look stunning and refreshed and Guerlain has a number of lipglosses that are a must. I have been known to mix 2 - 3 glosses together to create my signature hue! Dior's mascara is a must for me and whether I mix it in a cocktail (meaning placing other mascaras in if it's a huge night out or a shoot) or alone, my lashes would not leave the house for a night out without it! Finally, stay fresh with Coach's rollerball which comes in a duo scent and has my favorite half - Poppy!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Plum Beauty

Purple, plum, lilac and more are fabulous shades that can be included within the beauty routine that you do on a day to day basis! Whether you're looking to spruce up your vanity or you simply want to add a new hue to your look, I've definitely got you covered! Start your day off with Caress' Fine Fragrance Elixirs Body Wash Sheer Delight in Cashmere Luxury Silkening Body Wash which has orchid milk and warm vanilla essence. This is the perfect blend to start or end your day while enjoying a fragrant smell that will keep you refreshed. Pair this phenom body wash with a lilac colors Clarisonic that will ensure your skin is beyond soft and vibrant. If you find that you'll be running around whether to a shoot, long weekend or on vacation, you'll want these Eastern Opulence Bag Collection in various sizes that are available at Sephora. When it comes to adding color, think about changing up your eyeliner with Lancome or your eyes can rock a phenom eyeshadow of your choice by Dior. I'm all about rocking dark shades for nails and MAC Cosmetics has Mac Me Over's Shirley & Nicole for that lush look! Finally, spritz yourself with one of my favorite fragrances by Natori which has more of that great eastern sample of flavors that will enhance the bodywash from your day!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Clutch Beauty

I love carrying clutches but we all know that you can't take all your fave beauty items with you. So you definitely have to pack a lot lighter! Anya Hindmarch's gold/glittery clutch is a phenom item to have on an evening out with your girls or your significant other! When I have to pair down, I always make sure that my eyes and lips have back up! I love Nars eyeshadow as it adds a fab pop. This gold color works so well when I want to switch from having a dark charcoal which tends to be my go to for a night out. I love plump lips so Bare Escentuals, Buxom is never outside of my bag. As a base, I love using Dior Creme de Rose as it smooths and also plumps my lips as well. Together, these are the perfect items to make my look flawless and ready all night long.

Everyone loves when we have long days and warm nights! Nothing is better then having the opportunity to have a staycation (hello having the opportunity to stay at a friend's penthouse) or to head out to the Hamptons or wherever your destination takes you! Now whether you're thinking that you should say thank you to your friend's generosity of giving you a change of scenery OR you want to thank your guests for coming all the way to you - I rounded up some must have items that are not only easy to throw in your tote but will make you look amazing and are fun to share!

In the upper hand corner, I'm loving the refreshing Clean and Clear Morning Burst which has a fab citrus smell to it! This is also great for unisex sharing as well. If you're gifting, you can throw in this vibrant Essie and a complementary hued eyeshadow, by Maybelline, as eyes look phenom in shades of green regardless of the skin tone! On the right hand corner, we love making sure that your hair looks phenomenal and I love olive oil so this shampoo and conditioner is perfect by Palmer's. I'm a huge fan of Palmer's as a cocoa butter for the body so why not continue using this fab brand for as much as possible! Of course, to make sure your girls look phenomenal this is a fab very pale robin's egg color by Essie - once again perfect for sharing!

Finally, we always need to have more items in our beauty arsenal so why not ensure that everyone's lips and eyes look phenom by having Rimmel London on hand! I'm loving the eyeshadow which is perfect for the weekend as you can make a number of sexy cat eyes with this look as well as their Moisture Renew which comes in a number of hues with SPF that is included! It's all about keeping it simple and beautiful!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Fab You Made Easy

Most people know that I don't spend a million hours putting on a pretty face. It's all about quick items that give my face the perfect glow. Of course my eyelinerfrom Urban Decay 24/7 is essential to enhance your face. I'm a huge lover of Studio Fix M.A.C. Cosmetics which is N9 and makes my face look perfect without looking like my face has a lot of makeup on. Whether I opt for the liquid version or the powder both are amazing and make my face look phenomenal. I love Armani's Beauty Eyes in eyeshadow five the perfect shimmer for sunkissed looks. Lips pop with Laura Geller's Lip Palette. Who doesn't love the rosy hues that make your lips have the perfect pluckable look. Of course, the most important part is shimmer which can be applied over the cheeks as well as other key areas on the face which looks phenom in Bobbi Brown's shades of pinks.

Trendy Thursdays ~ NYE Chic

I can't believe that tomorrow is the last day of the year! So if you have yet to find the perfect outfit, then now is just as good of a time to figure it out! I never really think about what my makeup will be when I dress but on this night, it's practically the first thing that I think about without a question! You want to look super chic and you want to have the face that looks amazing when you look at it from every picture that you see of yourself and your friends. I think that sometimes when you're not quite sure what to do - the simple dramatic eye is the best thing to do! I love that your lashes can take on new levels and must say that Guerlain has a simple way to do so with their serum which can be used during the day or night! If you use it in the day, I like to let it dry and then apply my mascara right on top for the most lush look possible. In addition to mascara, having a nice smokey eye as well as a nice swipe of gloss which looks super glam and natural! What look will you rock when it's your turn to head out for NYE with your group or special someone?

Trendy Thursdays ~ Foundational Bling

You'll see little tweaks all over the site over the next few weeks and one of many is the way that we will go about introducing our beauty segments. Much like I choose my outfits from my accessories, people think of the makeup that they want to wear and build from there. I don't think like that but I definitely get the concept. With that said, we'll do pairings with outfits and what better way to kick it off than something that would be perfect for a party during NY Fashion Week which isn't too far away. Yes this is the last one that we will be having at the tents but since we're all about being in the moment, I have the perfect look.

The dress is from Tory Burch which I love for her Boho-Preppy style - who doesn't love her tunic tops? But it's awesome knowing that she has something perfect when you need to glam it up. Now when I go out, I love to play up what I would normally do during the day. After my MAC Foundation, you'll find that I always wear Urban Decay's 24/7 in Kohl Eyeliner and Laura Geller's bronzer! It's a great way to play up my eyes and to also have the goddess glow. For night, I love to wear Dior Show (sometimes I double it up with Big Fatty by Urban Decay as well for an extra effect) and then I also love Laura Geller's eyeshadow. I love that everytime I put it on it's a different effect and yet it's super easy! What a perfect compliment to this one shoulder look!

Trendy Thursdays: What's In My Makeup Bag?

While I was in South Beach, I went to Tapas y Tintos and their sister bar, Cafe Barcelona! Pictured here is me well into the night with my friend Fernando (owner).

I am no makeup artist by any stretch of the imagination! But I do know what I like and I know how to make it (and to keep it) simple! Whether I'm out and about at a fashion show, meeting with people in the day or going out at night - this is one of my favorite looks! Now every now and then, I love to go totally glam and to put in a lot of color but I would say that this is an example of something that is perfect in the day and works well with the night as well! I am a HUGE believe in M.A.C. Studio Fix N9 - I feel that it gives a natural look without making me look too made up! Last fall, I found out about Urban Decay's 24/7 Eyeliner which not only glides on super easy but it also makes you look like a rockstar without going too far (although you can apply it slightly thicker for night for an exotic look). I really embraced NARS last year as I love their eyeshadows and normallym I don't wear a lot of this at all. Dior Show was something that I heard a friend of mine rave about and I love how my lashes look when I use this although once again, I don't usually do this a lot but on a night out like this one, it was definitely something that I wanted to have on! Just like I believe in knowing about what clothing works best for you as a go to piece, I believe the same is true for makeup as well and especially on a sultry night in South Beach!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Get in Color

I can't even lie! I'm obsessed with Urban Decay! I love their cosmetic line and how they take you from fab natural to rockstar in about as long as it takes to get your look on! My favorite thing about them is the eyeliner! I can't leave the house without it and need to run to Sephora stat to get more! In addition the Big Fatty Mascara love it when you definitely want to look amazing. Check out the selection and let's be glad that we're closer to the weekend when we can really do our look up!

Trendy Thursdays: Iman

If you were to ask me who my favorite models were, Iman would definitely be at the top. She is one of the most exotic women in the world and I love her focus and mark that she has left within the beauty industry! Iman Cosmetics is focused on making sure that all women have fabulous shades to choose from that will work with their tones! In addition, she released a book a few years ago, The Beauty of Color, that also touched on this topic. Recently I received some new items from her line and I definitely liked the rich hues. My favorite is the Eye Defining Powder which is an eye liner that has the silky application of eye shadow with a great pearl finish. It will be available in stores next month!

Wearable Wednesdays ~ Night Clubbing Before You Hit the Lounge

NightclubbingSorry for the tiny image but I am so excited about this new eyeshadow that I purchased at Sephora from NARS Cosmetics. I love that their new Spring 2008 Collection has amazing shades that add a bitter of shimmer. This shade is known as Night Clubbing - it is black mixed with gold pearls! Those who know me know that I am not a gold girl; however, I loved the shimmer that I received when I tried this on. Depending on what you fall in love with, you'll be ready for the clubs in no time whatsoever. The secret to the amazing and seductive portion of this collection is the fact that pearls of various colors are mixed in to give you that amazing look! Nothing is better than playing with your makeup and giving yourself a variety of looks. I am so falling in love with this line and can't wait to test it out in Las Vegas next month during Project, Lingerie Show and Magic!
