Wrist Wednesdays ~ Watch the Face

As you know, I'm not prone to rocking watches personally (strange that there are only 2 accessories that you'll rarely see me wear - but so it is) but I do love seeing one that has a good face. Whether it's matte, blinged out, white, etc - it makes for a great conversation piece. Today's Wrist Wednesdays includes a number of brands that I do love seeing whether it's on me or when I'm out and about. Roll over the images above to see more about why I'm loving Versace, Movado, Patek Philippe and Girard Perregaux.

Mingling Mondays: Awards Season 2013 ~ Zoe Saldana

Zoe Saldana looked amazing on the red carpet last night at the Oscars in this stunning Alexis Mabille Couture gown. Straight from the runway, this Parisian designer is known for color and if you know of former dresses that Zoe has worn for red carpets, you know that she isn't afraid either. I love the hem line and how it allows you to see her Roger Vivier shoes with bow detailing.

To compliment her beauty look, Celebrity Makeup Artist Vera Steimberg shares her steps which can allow you to do the same when you're looking to do this for your next event.

INSPIRATION:

My inspiration for Zoe's look came from her amazing classic French chic silhouette style dress. I used soft palettes for a natural, sensual, feminine look around her face.

SKINCARE:

Her skin was given hydration with CHANEL Hydra Beauty Serum followed by CHANEL Sublimage La Crème. For the eyes, I used CHANEL Sublimage La Crème Yeux Eye Cream.

FOUNDATION:

I started with CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra -‐ Light Skin Perfecting Sunscreen Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF15 and then combined CHANEL Perfection Lumière Long -‐ Wear Flawless Fluid Sunscreen Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF15 in 44 Beige Ambre and 94 Ambre to perfectly match her skintone.

BLUSH:

After a light dusting of CHANEL Poudre Signèe de Chanel Illuminating Powder on her high cheekbones, I applied CHANEL Powder Blush in Frivole.

EYES:

Zoe’s eyes were the big focus! I started by applying CHANEL Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Mirifique all over her eyelid and CHANEL Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Fantasme under her eyebrows as a highlighter. On the edges of her eyelid, I used CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Smoky Eyes to give the outer part of her eyes depth. On her inner eyelid I carefully applied CHANEL Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long -‐ Lasting Eyeliner in Santal. For a final bit of drama, I finished her eyes with a black liquid liner and CHANEL Le Volume de Chanel Mascara in Noir.

LIPS:

I finished with CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Chic for a soft lip color that complements the
gray in her dress.

Mingling Mondays: Awards Season 2013 ~ Halle Berry

Versace hit the red carpet and had the best person who could wear this black and gold dress with a nod to geometria, Halle Berry! When asked what made her say yes to the dress, she explained that since she was involved in presenting the award for the James Bond Tribute and she wanted to personify the Bond Girl and that this dress did it! Without a doubt, this dress proves that you can have a sexy and body conscious dress that looks amazing without the concern of wardrobe malfunctions. We know that Halle has an amazing style and body and you too can rock her beauty look which combined Revlon (Halle is the Global Brand Ambassador) and Chanel.

Kara Yoshimoto Bua, CHANEL Celebrity Makeup Artist, created a soft and feminine look with bold eyes and a colorful cheek to complement her Versace dress. “I kept Halle’s look pretty casual and tonal, yet still glamorous, to complement the striking look of the dress,” said Bua. “I focused on the eyes and added some shimmer for dimension. Halle is presenting the Bond tribute award, so that was kind of the theme for the entire look.” Bua's look can be found below.

Trendy Thursdays ~ Winter's Must Have Bag

We know our Midwest friends have been dealing with the snowstorm and here in NYC, we have to remind ourselves that crystal blue skies and fabulous sunny days don't mean it's warm when it's in Feb! With that said, this bitter cold hasn't stopped me from still looking like I have been frolicking in the Miami sun (and I haven't been in ages and yet I'm still rocking sun kissed skin). It's all about me finding a skin routine that works for me which is adjusted based on weather, stresses I may be under, etc. My basic routine is very get up and go friendly but with weather like this, I need to give some extra love to my skin so that means while I drink more water, I lather on a lot more moisturizer to maintain that soft fresh skin! Those who know me know that I have a million cosmetic cases, one that allows me to travel on the go if I'm called and have less that 3 hours to pack and get to the airport, I have a winter kit and a spring kit. This means that my winter kit is my must have essentials for this season and I want to ensure that my skin looks great. My Marc by Marc Jacobs bag ensures that not only are they in this dragon scale nylon case but that everything I need is there.

For those that may suffer from skin that's flaky or extremely ashy, Topricin is a great moisturizer. It also doubles as a great pain reliever. Sometimes when you've been outside for long periods, you find that your skin may feel tight and achy so this is great to deal with both issues. Moving on to skincare for your face there are a number of items that I am obsessed with! If you've been in my beauty closet, you know that makeup wipes are my not so secret guilty pleasure. I have wipes that include cocoa butter, dead sea salt, etc - the options are astounding and only a few are on my short list of what I wouldn't use. These Noodle & Boo wipes are cute. If I'm lazy I wash my face off with this or I start with this, use my clarisonic and use another to wipe off whatever residue that may be left behind. They're refreshing and they are a must in any beauty kit no matter the season. For those that have sensitive skin and worry about cloths being too astringent for their skin, I do suggest using products that are geared towards babies/children as if it's perfect for their sensitive skin, you don't have to be concerned for yours!

Once you're skin is clean, an exfoliant is a must. I do this about 2 - 3 times a week in the winter as I want to keep my skin soft and ensure that irritants are not on my skin. I have some faves that are definitely great options. Fresh Rose Face Mask will keep your skin looking vibrant as well as I love the use of rose in a number of my beauty options. Make it decadent by using caviar with Balenciaga's scrub - caviar has been known for its amazing properties when it comes into contact with your skin and is perfect for a spa day. If I have had a super busy week where I had to do segments, shoots or appearances with a number of days in a row, I do like to clean my face with something a little more abrasive. Bobbi Brown's Buffing Grains for Face can be used with your fave cleanser or water in order to create that spa like exfoliating experience.

When you're done cleaning your skin, you need a great moisturizer, I tend to go with items that are infused with milk, sake or soy. Once again, Fresh is to the rescue with their Soy moisturizing cream which is another way to put much needed nutrients in it. Every morning for breakfast, you can find me eating hard boiled eggs, sliced avocados (both sprinkled with sea salt) and Pom Juice - I'm not someone who really likes the first meal of the day but I do love these items! Why? Because these items make my skin look great and they add a lot of nutrients. Sponge has an Avocado Oil that is great for the face. When I don't plan on going out for the day or it's at the end of the night I do like using this as it keeps the skin smooth. Another moisturizer that I suggest especially for those that have sensitive skin (note that I don't have sensitive skin; however, I feel that once again using these items are still great for your skin), use Aveeno's Eczema Active Naturals which contains oatmeal which is great for skin.

For me, the winter is all about protecting my skin the area under your eyes is thin and for me, when I'm outside in the cold, the weather makes me over tear and the water can actually attack that area! In college, I noticed that when I didn't treat this area (along with walking around without sunglasses in the weather) I would have aggravated skin that not only got slightly darker but would get a bit scaly - not cute! La Mer has a great Eye Balm Intense that I use on my face and I must say that when I'm home, I always add a little more to ensure that the area stays smooth and flake free! Another thin area involves the lips! This area without moisture gets tight and cracked - not cute! I'm obsessed with Jack Black which is known for its men's line but I love their balms which are great for men and women. My favorite is Black Tea - I love the scent, the coverage and that it has SPF (remember that even in the winter, you still need to continue having sun care within your routine regardless of the season, weather and your skin tone - it's a must for all)!

Mingling Mondays: Awards Season 2013 ~ SAG Awards Jaimie Alexander

My favorite look of the night (which reminded me of Katherine McPhee's Golden Globes dress by Theyskens Theory in terms of dramatic plunging necklines and this femme/edgy look) is the dress worn by Jaimie Alexander (she was most known for her role in Kyle XY as well as being in the film Thor)! Now there was another attendee who had a dress that showed severe side side cut out that bordered on being a bit much for my taste; however, Jaimie's was definitely daring while being a great way to show skin in a spin on the classic gown by Marc Bouwer. The ruching and draping of this gown left a lot of texture to enjoy.

Most importantly, Jaimie's look is accessorized by Orner plaatform strappy heels by Jerome C Rousseau. Her chic look continued with Norman Silverman earrings and a fab Demarco diamond ring.

To create Jaimie's fabulous look, hair and make-up artist, Jeffrey Paul worked his magic with hair products from Not Your Mother's Haircare and a number of beauty products. You too can recreate the look.

Mingling Mondays: Awards Season 2013 ~ SAG Awards Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington of ABC's Scandal never disappoints! I also feel that if there's a person who can rock the heck out of a color, she does it and is always a vision in white! Kerry stunned on the SAG Award's red carpet as she made her way inside to be one of the presenters of the night in a show where actors vote for other actors. Decked out in an embellished ensemble by Rodarte, she completed the look with a classy Chanel makeup look.

Celebrity Makeup Artist Matthew Vanleeuwen wanted to bring a modern elegance to her look. you too can get this great finish by:

Skincare

Kerry's skin was prepped with Chanel Sublimage Essential Regenerating Fluid for her face and neck, while Chanel Regenerating Le Creme Yeux was used for her eyes.

Foundation

He applied Chanel Perfection Lumiere Long Wear Flawless Fluid Sunscreen Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in Beige Amber to her skin. She was a perfect match (her foundation definitely looked flawless)

Blush

Kerry's cheeks had Chanel Powder Blush in Malice and on her cheekbones, Route des Indies de Chanel Illuminating Powder with Shimmer was applied

Eyes

For fabulous eyes, Chanel Quadra Eyeshadow in Vanites was used with the richest plum applied to the crease and the palest silvery/lilac shade used into the lash line. Snazzy Sundays: Awards Season 2013 ~ SAG Awards Julie Bowen

I love when stars rock fabulous looks and it seems so true to their personal image! Julie Bowen of ABC's Modern Family looked amazing in Johanna Johnson in a black leather gown (on trend) with embellished cap sleeves from their Spring Summer 2013 Red Carpet Collection. I'm obsessed with this designer and I always love when looks that hit the runway, make it onto the red carpet. Although I love how it looked when it was presented, I do like how Julie made it her own. As always, I let you know how you can get the beauty look as this is perfect for NYFW, Valentine's Day or anytime you want to step it up! All of these items can be obtained at Avon as you know I love sharing finds from here as I am a Brand Ambassador for the brand. As more updates of this look are known, this post will be updated.

Makeup artist Heather Currie complemented Julie’s stunning sultry black leather dress with a subtly sexy cat eye and a soft, romantic pink lip. Here are Heather's steps to get the look:

Face

Currie kept Julie’s skin looking dewy and fresh by applying Avon Be Blushed Cheek Color in Powder Pink on the apples of her cheeks.

Eyes

Currie used Avon Irresistibly Sexy Eyeshadow Palette in Bombshell to bring depth and smokiness to Julie’s eyes and add a little shimmer to pick up the glimmer on the jewel's on Julie's dress.

The inner rims of Julie's eyes were lined with Avon Glimmersticks Eyeliner in Cosmic Brown, and the tops of her eyelids with Avon Ultra Luxury Eyeliner in Black. She then smudged the black liner into Julie’s eyeshadow to create a subtle cat eye and finished the look with a coat of black Mascara.

Lip

In order to create a romantic lip that would complete Julie’s look, Currie swiped two coats of Avon's NEW Totally Kissable lipstick in Lovey Dovey on Julie’s lips. No gloss was used in order to keep the lip color soft and rich at the same time.

With the red carpet wrapping and the SAG Awards on their way to honoring actors by actors, I had to share a fab look from one of the attendees hitting the red carpet! You too can get this fabulous look as well since we're sharing how AMC's Mad Men (which is airing its 6th season, 2 hour premier on April 7th) Elisabeth Moss obtained the look. She wore a stunning Dolce & Gabbana and accessorized it with $1M earrings from Forever Mark and Jimmy Choo heels and clutch.

mark Makeup Artist Jamie Greenberg worked with Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss for the SAG Awards. Jamie and Elisabeth wanted to keep the look down to earth with a chic French street touch.

Trendy Thursdays: His Style ~ Skin is Skin

I'm always talking about what I love but I have to share what works well with men and their beauty routine. "Skin is Skin" is something that I say a lot. Although I love that my boyfriend enjoys trying a number of the beauty items that come to me, there are times when I am baffled by the lack of a consistent lotion regimen. When he wonders why his skin is dry, I tell him that skin is skin - all skin regardless of race or gender needs moisture! Fortunately, I'm so happy that there are a number of items that he does love without me saying a word. In addition, there are a few items that I highly suggest. Especially in the colder temperatures, it's essential to find what works!

The Art of Shaving Sandalwood has a fab shaving cream that leaves an amazing smell and I love that Paul loves using it. I love that it leaves his skin soft. I use separate exfoliants for my face, body and even zone areas (I love certain items for tush and legs that are different from the rest of my body - what can I tell you, I love product). For him, I suggest in an effort to introduce and simplify, Borghese Active Mud for Face and Body is a great way to get this into the routine while also saving space which is important. Plus it's good for everything. For a body wash, I suggest H2O Plus Sea Salt Body Wash is a great cleanser to use and is perfect to have in the shower especially when you and your boyfriend live together so that you don't have to have a number of bottles sitting in such a small NY space.

I think the eyes are essential and I love that Ole Henriksen Eye Lift PM Gel is a great way to begin restoring your face (Pro Tip: Many of my gels sit in the fridge so that I have a nice cool feeling when applying the product at night or when it's the summer). Even if eye sagging is not an issue, I believe in preventative maintenance and am a fan of a number of the products within this line. When it's time to call it a night, I love that Paul loves keeping his face fresh by cleansing it with a Pond's Facial Wipe. This version has lavender which is calming. When I wipe off with a cleansing wipe, I still like to have a moisturizer, I highly suggest Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Night Cream - this has Clary Sage and is a nice aroma mixture with the lavender. Finally, lips are my other love! I use lip balm throughout the day and I always put on a healthy coat at night. I highly suggest Jack Black as they have an entire line that's phenomenal and good for you and him. My personal favorite is Black Tea!

Trendy Thursdays: On the Runway to NYFW ~ Skincare Prep

With NYFW starting in a little over 2 weeks, this is about the time I begin to do a beauty prep. Truth be told, I do some version of a beauty prep anytime I know there is a TV segment coming up or that I will have a series of days where I will be out and about including photoshoots, client lunches and more! Fashion Week is a little over a week of attending runway shows, after parties, presentations, meeting up with those that are in town and even booking work whether it's a campaign or something interesting to throw in my routine. I feel that being prepped is not just about what you want in general but also that you're face forward. Feb Fashion Week is always a challenge as the weather is a bit different and your face may be going through seasonal changes. So stay a step ahead with pampering it prior to the day before!

These items are great ways to prep, to use during the big week (or any week you're focusing on) and a great way to ensure beauty longevity! My quick tip that I highly suggest if you're not going to a manicure at your favorite salon whether you're spot is backed up or you're en route and had no time - Sally Hansen's Gel Manicure Set comes with everything you need to ensure that your polish will stay put for up to 2 weeks! This way you don't have to worry about chips and you have a fabulous shine. The lamp, all necessary coats, cleansing pads, files and removers are included! This is a great way to stay ahead. You can also opt for the Sally Hansen Gel Strips as well which has its own set and is a matter of preference in terms of use!

In addition to your regular cleanser, I like to exfoliate or do a mask 1 - 2 times a week, Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Treatment Mask with Clary Sage. This is something that you can do from now to NYFW as well as during and after. This is a great way to hydrate as well as to bring a fabulous glow to your face. If you're opting out of adding this to your weekly routine, I have some other items that are perfect. Dior One Essential Capture Totale Serum (which you know I am obsessed with their foundation as well as a number of their skincare products) is the perfect way to look refreshed. I love using this in the day time after cleansing my face. This serum doesn't feel tight on your face and feels more like a moisturizer (although normally I still do add a moisturizer after using this but from time to time I have skipped it). My moisturizer that I enjoy and works no matter the season or the locale, is Clinique Moisture Surge Intense which hydrates as well as feels super light on your face. I always like to wait about 5 minutes before I put makeup on; however, I find that you can directly apply makeup and look completely natural.

I have 2 secret powers that are phenomenal. During NYFW in Sept, I stopped by the Artistry Media Lounge and learned about their Intensive 14 Night Restore Program. This is to be a 2 week program, one vial per day which would be used on your face (if there's still some left, use on your neck as well as across your décolletage). Within the next two days, I will use this and since it's a leave in treatment, I can go straight to bed and allow this to work its magic. Once I'm done, I still have a few days between the end of using this program and the beginning of Fashion Week so that my skin can rest (I'm a big believer in this although this is not necessary).

Murad Energizing Pomegranate Lip is the perfect way to prep your lips to looking the way we want them too! I have been using this since Christmas and I love how it feels on my lips as it is a balm but I find that it heals your lips especially when you're in the chilly NYC temperatures and is great for a base for your lipgloss as it already has a high shine to it!

When using all of these items together, your taking every step to making your face look red carpet, front row and picture ready!

Mingling Mondays: Awards Season 2013 ~ Golden Globes Katherine McPhee

Kathering McPhee stunned on the red carpet of the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Decked out in Theyskens' Theory with a plunging neckline and a high slit dress in black - it's no wonder that she is on many "Best Dressed" looks including Kitten Lounge's! We love the accessories that are feature here including her black and gold clutch, chain linked bracelet, diamond drop earrings and fabulous strappy black platforms.

To complete the Smash stars look, NARS was used to complete her stunning look thanks to Makeup Artist, Jake Bailey. His beauty inspiration came about as, "Katharine's dress looks like it belongs in a Helmut Newton photograph, so I thought the makeup should be strong and sultry...the kind of eye makeup that would be in one of those photographs. It's an eye look for sure - a smoky eye with a beautiful nude skin palette." You can get the same look by getting the following items!

Snazzy Sundays: Awards Season 2013 ~ Golden Globes Claire Danes

Versace was the perfect dress for Homeland's Claire Danes to wear she hit the red carpet of the 70th Annual Golden Globes Awards! We also love her earrings from Joanna Laura Constantine which are on the geometria trend. Claire's smoulder look was phenomenal thanks to one of my fave beauty brands, Laura Mercier. We have the scoop on how you can get it, so read on!

Matin Maulawizada, Global Artistry Director for Laura Mercier, created a “sexy, fun look” for the starlet and gives you some of his comments on creating it.

EYES: Maulawizada determined that a sultry, smoky eye would perfectly complement the star’s glamorous, red Versace dress. “I decided to go with a smoky eye and not a red lip since the dress was so red,” stated Maulawizada.

• Maulawizada accomplished this by applying Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Liner in Black ($22) on Danes’ top lids and under her eyes “to create depth and shape.”

• Next he applied Laura Mercier Tightline Cake Eye Liner in Black Ebony ($22) with Laura Mercier Flat Eye Liner Brush ($25) to “deepen the lash line.” He then rimmed the inside of the eyes using Laura Mercier Kohl Eye Pencil in Black Gold ($20) to “intensify the depth and to create a contrast with Claire’s blue eyes.”

• Maulawizada added the final touch of glamour by applying multiple coats of Laura Mercier Faux Lash Mascara ($24) to Claire’s upper lashes.

LIPS: Maulawizada used neutral colours to “contour the lips” and make them appear “pouty, à la an early ‘90s supermodel pout.”

• He first defined the lips using Laura Mercier Lip Pencil in Hazelnut ($20).

• Then he contoured and shaded in the lips with Laura Mercier Lip Pencil in Praline ($20).

• Lastly he applied Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Angelic ($26) to make the colour a “bit more beige and quiet.”

FLAWLESS FACE: Maulawizada determined that “glowy, warm skin” would be the perfect canvas for Danes’ sultry makeup look.

• First, he applied Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Crème Compact SPF 20 in Almond ($45) to warm up Claire’s skin tone.

• Next he sparingly used Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage #3 ($30) to “cover up little imperfections and darkness under the eyes, which she really doesn’t have.”

• On her cheeks, Maulawizada applied Laura Mercier Crème Cheek Colour in Blaze ($24) followed by Laura Mercier Bonne Mine Palette ($48) to “highlight, bronze and make her even more glowy.”

• Lastly he used a combination of Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder in Translucent ($35) and Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder ($22) to set Claire’s makeup and concealer.

• To ensure Danes glowed from head to toe, Maulawizada applied Laura Mercier Mineral Illuminating Powder in Candlelight ($32) over Laura Mercier Repair Eye Serum ($80) on Claire’s shoulders and arms.

Trendy Thursdays ~ Face Charts

I love this time of year as it's glam on another level! You get to kick off the year with awards season, a number of trade shows showcase what is coming into the market for the fall and of course you have a nunmber of Fashion Weeks globally and that's just the overall calendar within the Fashion industry! There are so many organizational methods taking place to keep everyone on the same page as companies are involved in a number of events and Face Charts are a life saver.

Years ago when I first modeled, I don't believe it registered with me that they were being used as I just sat in the chair and let the magic happen around me; however, when I began to cover backstages of NYFW or attended shoots, I realized that these face charts were not only there so that people had a guide of how the look would be but it was a great way to ensure that the makeup look complimented the clothing. When I launched Shoe Week last year during NYFW, it was much easier to ensure that the vision I had for each runway show was being communicated as I was able to look at the face chart that our makeup artist created! Finally, I even create them for myself for events that I am doing or when I am going on HSN - so simple and easy!

This is a look that was created for Erin Heatherton when she attended the CFDA Fashion Awards and is actually a signature look that I have worn off and on as I love that it has a smouldering eye and a great pop of pink lip, I always call this my "Sun Kissed" look when I am doing TV as it's warm, totally works even for early morning call times (on HSN) and it's super chic! You can find blank face charts for your needs and then play around with creating your desired look!

For those that want to know how to re-create the look from this chart, here is how you can recreate it courtesy of Victoria's Secret Beauty:

FACE

Get this Bronzed Bombshell look by applying VS PRO Radiant FX Face Illuminator everywhere the sun naturally hits: forehead, tops of cheekbones, bridge of nose and tip of the chin.

Lightly dust VS Makeup Baked Mineral Bronzing Powder in Goddess on temples, under cheekbones, and to the tip of the chin for extra sunkissed radiance followed by VS Makeup Luminous Blush Duo in Starlet.

EYES

Define upper and lower lashlines with VS Makeup Eyeliner in Dark Chocolate. Use a flat, firm liner brush to blend and soften the line.

Apply VS Makeup Shimmer Eye Shadow in Chestnut from lashline to crease. Next, apply more color to the outer corner of the eye and blend up and out towards the brow.

Using fingertips, dab Shimmer Eye Shadow in Taupe Love to the center of the lid. Add a dab of the shadow to the inner corner for an eye-opening effect.

Finish with two coats of VS Makeup Triple Drama Mascara in Blackest Black.

LIPS

Complete the red carpet look with a swipe of VS Makeup Lip Gloss in Intimate.

Trendy Thursdays: Kimmie Picks ~ Beauty Carry All

There are times when I know that I am traveling over night and not by plane (perhaps I'm hopping to Long Island, Jersey or Philly), then I know that I can bring my favorite beauty items without being concerned about taxing TSA issues! That means I simply have to pop everything into my bag (loving this Pierre Hardy bag which is an essential for overnight or as a carry on for a flight). Bags like this also work when I am prepping for an HSN segment as I can put so many items in there without having to have multiple bags and can unpack quickly within my green room. As EVERYONE knows, I love my Clarisonic Plus as I can alternate between the smaller and larger head for my face as well as for the rest of my body. This is a must and you always feel squeaky clean when you're done using it a fab mini spa. I obsess over Korres White Tea Facial Gel Cleanser. Being a tea fan this is fabulous for my face and I am a big believer in after cleansing my face, to soothe it with my Shobha Rosewater Toner Mist (it's great as a refresher as well as to just allow your skin to rest - between this and the gel it's never too far away from me). When it comes to a nurturing body wash, Dove is always a great way to keep your skin looking and feeling amazing! Being someone who grew up on Dove and to this day I use their deodorants - this is always something to have within your routine. Finally, make your skin look dazzling within moments with Michael Kors' glimmer body creme.

Trendy Thursdays: Kitten Lounge 5th Anniversary Giveaway ~ Artistry

During NYFW, I had the pleasure of heading to the Artistry gifting suite to learn about various innovations that they have within their line. I love that they're able to work with you to tailor products to your needs and as usual, I wasn't disappointed. As many of you know, I'm really into my skincare regimine as I never know when I am going on camera, doing a segment or just want to have skin that looks like I spend all my time in a spa! I love that they are celebrating our 5th Anniversary by providing one winner with a set that I have enjoyed using which includes their Intensive Skincare Renewing Peel (great way to renew your skin and to make it feel softer), Intensive Skincare Anti-Wrinkle Serum (firms skin as you sleep) and 14 Night Restore Program (use a vial each night and if you have already put it on your face, I use the rest of the vial on my neck, chest and hands for a radiant glow)! Trendy Thursdays ~ It's All About the Face

A few weeks ago, you guys know I was at Pamela Pekerman's Well Accessorized event which featured a number of products. One of the items included was this amazing product for your face - think of it as a facial toner for your face's muscles! I will have a full review of this fab product but for now, check out the video from BMR Beauty for the BMR Facial Toner which uses natural, comfortable stimulation in the form of gentle electrotherapy pulses to enhance the face’s youthful appearance! What a fantastic FDA-cleared device to use as a massager for the face. I'm always interested in trying something out and will let you know how it feels. As a disclosure, I'm someone that is genetically blessed with high cheekbones so I'm trying this out as a means to see how it feels, to see if it's something that just feels amazing when you're home and to see what the benefits are! Check back within a few weeks as we all know I will be on HSN and I will definitely be checking this out while I am away next week!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Simple Luxuries

I have a number of fabulous beauty products that I enjoy using. Many of them come from foreign locales and can be hard to find and then there are those items that are super accessible at Target! I'm a huge fan of Apotheka M: Suds and Luxuries the fabulous packaging and the ornate scents turn your bathroom into a spa! I love the shower gel as well as the lotions and the Mandarin Guava scent is one that is perfect for him and her which saves space in the bathroom! In addition, I have been a fan of Yes to Carrots for years. I love the Yes to Cucumbers Eye Makeup Remover Pads which are perfect for when I am on TV and need to remove all the pigments that are on my face to give it the fabulous glow that you see on air! Yes to Blueberries has a facial exfoliant which keeps your skin renewed! These are fabulous finds!

Trendy Thursdays ~ NOLA Bound!

As you read this, I'm running around with last minute duties before I hop on a flight to head to New Orleans! I will be at the Essence Music Festival as I am a Brand Ambassador for Crest 3D White - which means I will be sharing accessories tips to everyone, styling and showing what's the best way to accessorize in the summer as well as transitioning into fall! Of course a white smile is essential; however, I do have my faves. In addition, I am obsessed with a number of my beauty needs as well!

I love fun scents so I have been trying our Flirt! Cosmetics - Kittenesque which is always a great item to have on hand. I'm all about items that restore my skin as well as making it look amazing so I love that I can use Jane Iredale to scrub my lips with brown sugar to keep them soft and then to put on the fabulous lipstick if needed. You can also add another layer of lipgloss such as this fab shade by Elizabeth Grant. My skin stays amazing with Ole Henriksen's sugar flow face scrub which is soft against the skin. When I catch a little nap, I love these DuWop IGels. I love that I can relax with these on and listen to music while breathing in Mor candle in Sugar Rose Tiger Lily! When you're traveling to do appearances or other work related items, this is a nice way to use special beauty items to help you settle in!

Trendy Thursdays: His Style ~ Beauty Travels

It's definitely a trend for brands to create products based on gender. Now Paul loves using whatever I use and it's actually tough to get him to use his own products as he loves the smells of my products. Above includes a few items that he does like that are within the men's category and items that I would like for him to try.

I have been a Dove girl since high school when it comes to me deodorants. So I was super glad to see that we have a number of men's Dove producst for him. I like that in terms of simplifying, some guys may like that they have a body wash for the body as well as the face. Personally, I like to use separate products but can see how this would be a time saver. In addition I love this two sided shower tool by them that has a sponge on one side and a loofah on the other! When it comes to lotion, I'm a huge fan of Palmer's Cocoa Butter. I definitely want to see about having this for Paul as he he likes the smell and this lotion will definitely keep his skin soft. Jack Black is a men's line that actually has a number of lip balms that I obsess over and this face moisturizer is the perfect item for your guy no matter the season. To keep a great smell, I suggest this John Varvatos limited edition cologne. When traveling he can put everything in this Burberry toiletry bag!

Trendy Thursdays: Event ~ Dr Loretta Brunch

On a rainy afternoon earlier this week, I headed to Milos for a Beauty Brunch that was hosted by my friend and Social Media Director, Michelle Joni Lapidos of Spa Week - also make sure to check out their blog as well. The brunch allowed attendees to sit and chat skincare with Miami Beach based Dermatologist, Dr Loretta who has her own practice, a skincare line in her own name as well as a line that does private label for various spas. For those that follow Kitten Lounge on Facebook, you saw a number of my videos popping up talking about how gum (sugarless free is suggested) is great to keep your neck muscles firm, her skincare's innovation with stem cells that contain lavendar as well as other information regarding African Americans and the types of peels that they should use. The video above shares why we should apply new beauty products to only half of our face as they are done during clinical trials! It's a great way of seeing how well the product works for you and what results you can expect to see - a novel idea and one that we should always remember to do!

In addition to a fabulous lunch, we were able to have many of our skincare issues answered as well as to test a number of products within the Dr Loretta line including Age Change Daily Moisturizer (includes SPF 30+ which is perfect to use day and night), Age Change Body (which is great for all skin types and allows your skin to glow) and Age Change Eye (which lessens dark circles, bags and puffiness and protects the thin skin that is around the eye area). These can be purchased individually OR you can select the Age Change Kit which allows you to receive the Age Change Body for free when you purchase the Age Change Eye as well as the Age Change Face (which is the daily moisturizer).

Trendy Thursdays ~ Hosting Avon's Head To Toe Dinner

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to do one of the many fun and engaging duties that are apart of my Brand Ambassadorship for the Avon brand! I hosted a dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in the city, Ilili, which is known for their amazing Moroccan/Mediteranean style of food as well as fabulous drinks! In addition I wanted to share with (Amy - Midtown Girl, Kitty - Kitty Bradshaw, my sister Dorian - Big Apple Style Marketing, Christine - Tineey and Shaunequa - Temple of Glam (I rocked a fab dress by one of my favorite design houses, Theia.

As many of you know, I'm always traveling and although I do go to a lot of spas, I find that I have to have an arsenal of my own products available so that I can have a spa wherever I happen to be whether it's HSN (I'm back on air on May 25th 5am and 3pm launching summer fun shoes with Sebago as well as my Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12 collection) segments, a photoshoot and more! Trendy Thursdays ~ Summer Skin Now

As many of you know, I have received laser treatments for under my arms before and the experience was great. My biggest concern was that by having darker skin, you have to ensure that the lasers that are being used on you or for your skin so that you don't have discoloration! I learned that the Alexandrite laser is what you have to look for if you get laser treatments and have darker skin. Recently, I received the No! No! Hair and I fell in love with it. There are no lasers in this treatment as it uses thermal treatment. The longer you use it, over time it makes hair finer and disappear over time. Guys and girls can wear this and you can take it wherever you happen to be going! With a number of heads which allow you to take care of smaller areas (face and bikini line) as well as larger areas (legs) and the buffing items - you'll be that much closer to hairless, sexy skin. Of course when you start talking about glowing skin, I believe that it is all about having an amazing system! Hairless skin meet soft and luminous skin with additional items that are a mist to have!

Obviously, your skin needs to be dry when using this tool and don't be worried if you smell burning hair as this is something that is totally normal. If you're prepping your face, I have fallen in love with St Ives Apricot Scrub which is a gentle exfoliant that I have been taking on recent travels. These thin pads clean your face and also ensure that little rough areas are taken off of your skin. After loving Soap and Glory's Flake Away treatment that I shared with a few weeks ago to make your legs fab, I had to share with you their Butter Yourself Body Cream which is a great way to keep your skin refreshed and smooth! For the past 5 or 6 summers I have always shared how much I love Nars Cosmetics' Body Glow which I believe is perfect for all skin tones. I like that it gives me that warm tone as if I have been enjoying the sun (in a healthy way) and have that natural glow. L'Occitane has a fab lip balm in a Desert Rose fragrance which is perfect when we're transitioning into consistent summer warm weather. I also love a great scrub and Caudalie has a fab one that is infused with Cabernet (as all their products have wine varietals included) which is a great way to keep your skin looking amazing. Finally, I'm all about my Clarisonic Plus which allows you to use it for your face and body as there are two heads that come with this! Together, you're skin will be summer ready for sure.

Trendy Thursdays ~ TV Beauty Takeaways

When I go on air, I have the items that I never do without whether I'm traveling or not. When I get the chance to work with new makeup artists, I leave with a takeaway of items that need to be within my arsenal of beauty items. Here is a portion of my checklist that goes with me!

The Clarisonic is a must and I have 2! My yellow one stays in my travel beauty bag and is perfect to keep my face clean and clear. This way my larger Clarisonic that works on your face and body can stay at home. I am also a HUGE fan in Sibu Beauty Sea Buckthorne Hydrating Serum which is perfect to put on your face after you have cleaned it with your favorite cleanser. I'm also loving Essie Good to Go Clear Nail Coat is always nice to put on your nail to make it shine even when your nails are done. Who doesn't love a glossy nail when you're on TV?

Now during this trip, I came upon items that are new to me! When I was on HSN, I fell in love with a lip combo that looked awesome! I love M.A.C. Lip Pencil in Plum that lines and fills in the lip entirely. On top, she had Stila Lip Glaze Gloss in Sugar Plum. I have had this in my closet for awhile but used it on this trip, Fresh Brown Sugar Affair Set has the polish that exfoliates your skin, the lotion which smells phenomenal and when you're not rocking gloss, how about that awesome light tint hue that also makes your lips look amazing. Many of you know that I love Zoya's Indigo but when I couldn't get it - I fell for Butter London in Big Smoke which has that great dark blue, elements of black and glittery hues. I love being introduced to new items and getting to play with beauty.

Trendy Thursdays ~ Red Carpet Beauty

There is something that many of your celebs have in common when it comes to hitting the red carpet, they have great skin or the appearance of that sunkissed look! I believe that your beauty regimine is a total system and not just something that you do for a specific time period. When I'm traveling, doing segments and more, I utilize a number of items that ensures that I am always red carpet ready! From Burt's Bees, Gud is a complete skincare line. I have to say that my boyfriend is hooked on their Orange Petalooza Shampoo which has a fab smell that is perfect for clean hair! I'm obsessed with L'Occitane's Immortelle brightening system which includes their Hand Care which has SPF15 included, Brightening Essence which is mixed into the Moisturizing Cream which is perfect for the face. I have been taking two drops a day of IO Beauty's Beauty Booster which tastes like berries and can be taken straight or mixed in your favorite beverage. It's a quick way of nourishing your skin whether it's first thing in the morning, or later on in the day. Of course great skin is all about lotion and Jergens ensures that regardless of the season, you're protected. I too have jumed on the Beauty Balm wagon! I love that Dr Jart's BB cream can be mixed into my foundation that I apply onto my face when I am prepping it for my makeup routine or can be worn alone. I love the water base of this particular one as I feel that it spreads on evenly and makes my skin radiant. Finally, when you're running around, you can't allow a headache to keep you down. Migralex was introduced to me a few years ago and although it was explained to me that it helped those with chronic migraines, I have found that it is perfect for light headaches, stress headaches, hangovers, cramps or those annoying headaches I get when I have been flying for a number of hours. It's fast and effective which is perfect for keeping that well maintained look! Together, all of these items keep me going and are apart of my routine.

Mingling Mondays: NYFW FW2012/2013 ~ One on One With Dr Loretta

As you know, yesterday I went backstage at the Czar by Cesar Galindo runway show. While there, I had the chance to see the paraben free line, Dr Loretta in action. Today I actually sat with Dr Loretta to hear her tell me more about the products. First off, Age Change Eye (Next Generation Rejuvenator) is going to become one of my favorite items to use daily as well as to travel with! Coming in at .5 fl oz, this is definitely TSA approved. A few years ago, when people would describe a product as something that had 'age' within the title, I would shy away from using it as my skin is youthful and I didn't think that I needed it. But I have come to learn that along with using products that are designated for problems that you may have, you need to also perform preventative maintenance as well. I love how this gel feels cold and can be used under and around the eye. It's super soothing and calm. You can also use it on top of your foundation as it seeps in your skin.

Second, I'm in love with Tea-rrific (Antioxidant Mattifier) which is perfect to put on your face after you have cleaning it (morning and night) and right before you put moisturizer on. I love that once again, it's perfect to travel with as it is 1 fl oz. I also love that it soothes the skin and doesn't have a tacky feel on your face. It creates a nice illuminating glow to your skin - I noticed it immediately after use! Both products are perfect to use everyday and especially when you're running around and putting more stress on your face whether it's traveling, NYFW, doing a number of TV segments and more.
