It's all about the home - we spent many moments there and the dynamic of it changes as we take on new projects. It's essential to maintain this space much like we would our closets. Whether you do it little by little or take a room by room approach, here are some ideas that I have! I love the rustic chic look that Pottery Barn has right now! With us living on the beach, we also like to add these elements too. The Wine Bar Treasure Trunk is perfect for a coffee table and also to stow some of your wine as well. With a focus on the living room or a sitting area, my goal is to have an inviting space that's perfect for large and small gatherings. I love the idea of adding various baskets as it adds elements of styles that you're trying to bring together.
In addition to baskets, I have gotten into glass as well! I love natural stones and shells so adding this is a way to present ornate objects into a room and to balance it with the rustic feel. A throw blanket is a great way to add a cozy element as well! By putting everything together, you're home doesn't have the look of being an exact replica of a showroom or your favorite home store! Think about how your room will reflect all your styles in one place
I think that when it comes time to work whether you do it from home or just from time to time, you need the perfect space. I am a huge fan of this style of table! Available at West Elm, the Sawhorse Work Table has a glass top and sits on steel plated legs. This table is perfect to place within a studio, guest room or more. In addition, having a nice lamp on it which is also apart of the minimalist aesthetic as well. To add a bit of texture to the room, having a cubed bookcase which is accented with wicker baskets is a perfect touch and allows you to keep unnecessary clutter off of your desk as well.
No matter the season or the style of your apartment/home, having blue in your home is definitely therapeutic and should be used even if it is only a pop of color! These glass vases which are perfect to fill with liquid, flowers, marbles, etc are available in a variety of sizes at Pottery Barn and yes they can be monogrammed as well. This is such a great housewarming gift, graduation or something for you to get yourself whether you line them up in various heights, place it in your kitchen or within your bedroom. You can make your own seascape in whatever way best fits your mood or style. Of course, this will ensure that you'll either visit the store, catalog or site in order to find other items that would work as well! I love summer and a great idea!
I love these Short Teardrop Jars by More Fire Glass Studio, available at one of my favorite sites - Vivre.com, that are perfect for popping summer elements into your home. It's almost like having a little bit of MoMA in your home. Whether you live in a studio or a large home, this definitely steps it up. Of course this fits perfectly into our THINK CITRUS campaign which will continue to bring all things citrus like to each and every post within the month of March!
I love that these jars are handcrafted and I love that they have little stoppers as well. This is perfect if you just want them empty or if you want to have them filled with your favorite beverage. You can't lose when it comes to which one you wish to bring home - is it going to be the lovely lime or the amazing amber?
First - Happy Valentine's Day! No matter what you're doing today, it should be full of fun and spent with those that give you that! Today I am spending my last night here in Vegas and will be having dinner at David + Burke's which is super exciting. I ate there earlier this week so I will have to try something new. I think that this will be a lot of fun - I can't wait to share a lot of the fun things that went on this week. I must say that with coming off of Fashion Week, meeting many of the good people of Coutorture and now being in Vegas with not only my best friends but friends that I know even better - this is definitely a great way to spend the week. That being said, I wanted to end the series of Valentine's beverages with one of my favorite drinks that I tried as soon as I got these recipes. I will also be having this tonight as I think of one of my new friends who is always down with giving me the recipes that I send out to you - so I am raising a virtual glass to her, my best friend who without him - the trip would not have been possible, my dancing friend and of course the amazing people that I got to know so much better during my trip here: Cupid’s Cherry Jubilee 1 ounce Appleton VX Jamaican Rum 1.5 ounces Cherry Juice 4 ounces Korbel Champagne Fresh coconut shreds Honey Cherry for garnish
Rim a wine glass with honey and roll on coconut shreds. Pour in Appleton, Cherry Juice and then fill with Korbel. Add cherry for garnish.
My entire department is not decked out in Ikea; however, there are certain elements that I am a fan of. This table top with legs isapart o f the Vika collection. My favorite element of this table top is the clear glass! This so essential for me as a designer when I am tracing. I can place light under the glass and trace my items easily. There is a bit of a ledge across the top that you can use to keep your utensils and other instruments in their place and still accessible! This table is perfect since it can remain flat;moreover, you can also tilt and adjust this as necessary. Growing up, I had a drafting table and this is something that could come in handy for architects and designers alike. The wooden legs are perfect for extra storage as well. What a great way to add this in to your home office!
We love hearing from you! Suggestions, ideas and thoughts are always welcome.
