What are my beauty essentials? It's what you see right here! When it comes to my everyday signature I know what my go to pieces are. I am a huge fan of eyeliner that looks amazing and is noticeable without looking crazy so when Urban Decay came out with their 24/7 collection, I was beyond thrilled and now I can't use any other eyeliner. It glides on super easy and just looks amazing! I love having bronzer and Laura Geller makes this great moonbeam version that is a mixture of hues that makes you look like a sunkissed goddess. I'm a lip balm fanatic and have been wearing this Rose Lip Balm since I can remember. I love the fragrance and how it feels on your lip. I'm not a fan of that tacky feeling you get and haven't found this to be like that. Finally, my day begins with Glowelle. On my lazy days, it just goes straight into my water but when I am giving myself a treat or feel like putting some work into it, I mix it as a smoothie. In 5 - 10 mins I'm ready for the day!
Yes I am a Real Housewives junkie and I actually liked the song. If you think about songs to get ready to before going out, this definitely works and believe me, we all have some songs that some people would question. That being said, it's Memorial Weekend (Tote Bag Winners will have their items sent out this week) this week - where did the time go and we're that much closer to consistently gorgeous weather! I'm also getting files in order as this is the season when my clients approach me to style them on a dime so I'm beautifying my space if you will to make it easier. Part of this is enjoying our deck. We have two and above you'll hear my plans in general as this is the headquarters for not only Kitten Lounge but The Style Pod as well. I want to try my hand at growing flowers, getting new furniture and we are buying a new grill which is an essential around here. Last night, I celebrated an anniversary of sorts. About a year ago, I went to my first Lippe Taylor event for Clearasil at Bowlmor Lanes. Not only was I introduced to how a product that I grew up with had taken steps to being something that I should be using now at the ripe age of 30 but I was introduced to a group of girls that I can call friends! Now I'm not saying that I don't love the PR firms that I work with but the LT team is definitely a favorite and as I headed over to Chelsea Piers Sky Rink, I expected nothing less of an amazing night!
Keren (our very own Life Balance Editor), came with me as we were both going to learn about Shaklee, a company that creates supplements that are organic for your body and that the US Snowboard and US Ski team use to ensure that they have their daily nutrients! In case you're wondering, the clip above included members of the Lippe Taylor team in addition to members of the US Ski and Snowboard teams. They will not find out until the beginning of next year if they made it to the Olympic team! So we very well could have been talking with people that will be on the team.
I loved being able to chat with Michelle Roark who is not only won the World Cup Championship in the 2006 Olympics but she is a Chemical Engineer for her own perfume line, Phi-nomenal (there will be more on her line in a future beauty post on Thurs). She was super spunky and listening to her you really understood what it was like to be a vegetarian and traveling to countries where they eat a lot of meat. Michelle was excited that she was able to have a product that would nourish her and allow her to be at her top performance.
Now Shaklee has had a 30 year relationship with the US Ski team and last night they introduced chews that you can eat to give you a burst of energy. These lemon lime pieces gave lots of energy while giving you a boost! This boost came in handy when we all played Wii's new ski game and I'm happy to report that Keren took the bronze and also a signed Wii by various members on the team! Even if you're not an Olympian hopeful, Shaklee has a large book of supplements that help you in your everyday life. Many of you remember from my previous posts about Glowelle and Functionalab, that I'm on a quest to find the perfect tablets that are perfect for my lifestyle. One of the items that I'm eager to try is the Vitalizer + Iron. Finally, one of my favorite items has been Matcha Source! I love that this green tea can be a latte, used within a sauce or even used as a frosting as well.
