Treasure Tuesdays ~ Bring on Swim Season

The first weekend of summer (and half day Fridays for many of my Kittens) starts this weekend - hello Memorial Weekend and all the plans that that entails! This is when you have to have your go to swimwear at the ready as you never know what the summer will entail whether it's boarding the Jitney, getting pumped for Hamptons weekends, swinging down to Miami or rocking it on your terrace right here in the city! Roll over the above images to see what's on my style radar which is filled with bathing suits full of color (you can't say swim and not think Norma Kamali, snake print wedges by Alice + Olivia, a fun tote from Rachel Roy x FEED, Ten Thousand Things, Lagos and Roberto Coin. Find out why I'm loving these pieces and how they can be included within a number of looks.

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Awards Well

Monday night, the CFDA had their annual awards at Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. Some of my favorite designers and icons hit the red carpets. Stuart Weitzman who definitely ensures that we rock phenomenal shoes had a bit of a casual look meets Hamptons for brunch. Kenneth Cole always looks fab wherever he goes and I'm such a fan of Jason Wu as well. Of course you can't talk about the CFDA without a nod to its CEO, Steven Kolb as well as one of my favorite designers across a number of categories, its President, Diane Von Furstenberg.

Snazzy Sundays ~ Coral Inspirations

I love that coral can either be that chic lighter tone that makes you think of the Hamptons and subtle spring hues or the rich deep hues that invoke notions of Morocco! The entire look was created from a fabulous Missoni dress that has shades of coral, light mauve and white. This look made me think of all the ways that this color can work within my living space. I am obsessed with Anthropologie's small market basket that you can imagine placing fruit in and other tasties. Continuing into the kitchen, the rich tones is the Noritake Coral Soup Bowl. When it comes to your living room this bench by Ballard Designs is apart of a much larger collection but is a great way to bring in that sense or old world or you can place it in your bedroom to add a bit of edge to your sheets that are available at Williams Sonoma. Finally, add a touch by bringing in a fun bauble which is available at Gump's.

Trendy Thursdays ~ Jetset Beauty

Everyone loves when we have long days and warm nights! Nothing is better then having the opportunity to have a staycation (hello having the opportunity to stay at a friend's penthouse) or to head out to the Hamptons or wherever your destination takes you! Now whether you're thinking that you should say thank you to your friend's generosity of giving you a change of scenery OR you want to thank your guests for coming all the way to you - I rounded up some must have items that are not only easy to throw in your tote but will make you look amazing and are fun to share!

In the upper hand corner, I'm loving the refreshing Clean and Clear Morning Burst which has a fab citrus smell to it! This is also great for unisex sharing as well. If you're gifting, you can throw in this vibrant Essie and a complementary hued eyeshadow, by Maybelline, as eyes look phenom in shades of green regardless of the skin tone! On the right hand corner, we love making sure that your hair looks phenomenal and I love olive oil so this shampoo and conditioner is perfect by Palmer's. I'm a huge fan of Palmer's as a cocoa butter for the body so why not continue using this fab brand for as much as possible! Of course, to make sure your girls look phenomenal this is a fab very pale robin's egg color by Essie - once again perfect for sharing!

Finally, we always need to have more items in our beauty arsenal so why not ensure that everyone's lips and eyes look phenom by having Rimmel London on hand! I'm loving the eyeshadow which is perfect for the weekend as you can make a number of sexy cat eyes with this look as well as their Moisture Renew which comes in a number of hues with SPF that is included! It's all about keeping it simple and beautiful!

Fashionable Fridays: Client Files ~ Hamps Bound in the City

Earlier this week I worked with a fabulous client who was looking for the best look that screamed Hamptons but was appropriate for a housewarming here in the city which has a roofdeck! Today's look is a version of the look that was created for her! I'm all about kaftans as there are so many options and they are my "must haves" for Summer 2011. TopShop has a fab serene blue that can be worn as a cover up over your fave bikini or paired with a cute tank top so that it is worn as a dress. If you feel that it is a little short, you can pair cute shorts and on cooler nights, how about a pair of leggings? Because the kaftan is the perfect mix of casual and dressy, it begs to be paired with fun accessories. I'm loving the fun peacock elements of jewelry with House of Harlow's peacock locket pendant and Free People's ring as well. In addition, everything can be evened out by popping in fun nude/blush tones. Love, love, love the fact that Jimmy Choo's clutch is the perfect item to pair with Alejandro Ingelmo's woven platform wedge pumps (I am obsessed with this designer and have been since Sept Fashion Week last year when he was on a Harper's Bazaar panel focusing on accessories) which are phenomenal. Regardless of how leggy you are, this is a great look and as always, I'm so happy to get pictures from my fab clients when they're set to have a fab night out (hopefully she remembers the fab gift she's supposed to bring and will enjoy dancing the night away with friends).

I may be heading to DR next week but it's for work I swear! I'll be designing my Spring 12 collection for Sebago! Now I know that he's all about smelling phenom and I love Ginseng so Molton Brown is the perfect way to spice up some good things! We have all visited friends with fab spaces for a house warming, Hamptons weekend and more and this is a great gift. Treasure Tuesdays ~ 2010 in Review Part I

2010 went by super fast and readers were able to enjoy the journey along with us in all of the amazing changes that took place over the past few months. Over the next few days we will have some fabulous recaps as next week is a new page for all of us especially with some new concepts that are being brought on to the site. This year brought a number of press of trips our way but hands down, things turned up when Aly (SheKnow.com), Jeannine (Beauty Sweet Spot) and I hit Miami to hang out with a number of other top bloggers in our industry and the fab teams of Lippe Taylor and Schick. It's definitely hard work to be at a cabana at the Delano and to interact with everyone on the most perfect of 90 degree days and then to party on those 80 degree nights!

We also enjoyed the Hamptons in the fall so of course I rocked plaid chic in the perfect way) and then we spent some time at the Make a Wish Foundation Charity Benefit that took place at 1Oak this fall. We're all about having a good time for a cause of course and that night certainly didn't disappoint. When I think of this year, I also think of the amazing people that I work with that make it possible to do what I do. It's always amazing to add new people to my list of people that I adore! Love that Lori Diamond and I took a moment at a lunch recently as she introduced me to a new client list where members have become friends and she definitely knows how to throw an event! The funny thing is, we were already quasi or pseudo connected! Take sometime to enjoy the above images as I can't think of 2010 without thinking about these items and of course this week we will continue to post up more items!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Rocking the Home Office

There are two days out of every week that I tend to work from home or maybe from Starbucks depending on what is going on! I get my pitches out, go through conference calls etc but I am still dressed for the possibility of having to dash when necessary. A couple of weekends ago I was in the Hamptons for OnStar for their Women's Empowerment Weekend and I rocked a fun plaid look (seen in the above spread) that apparently people loved. So I had to show yet another way that this look could be created. I love skinnies that are a dark wash and just like in my pic, I have a cute pair of Sebagos that complete the look. No matter how casual you are, wearing a necklace that's a statement is super important. Whether you're staying home all day or are running errands, this is a fab look and super comfy as well.

Snazzy Sundays ~ Holiday Season Starts Now

Happy Halloween whether you're spending it brunching, continuing to party or getting some thoughts down since some people like to power through their weekend. When Halloween comes, I say goodbye to Oct and hello to the next two months of parties and functions as holiday season has officially begun for me at this point! This time last week I was enjoying the last moments of being in the Hamptons during our OnStar Women's Empowerment press trip weekend in Sag Harbor in the Hamptons. We took an opportunity to stop by a Farmer's Market and I was super impressed with corn. I didn't want to eat it but what a great way to create a fall harvest look in terms of decoration! The colors were rich and would even be perfect in terms of thinking of colors that work into your outfits. Enjoy this video about corn and why I loved it so much!

Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Jetting to the Hamptons

Last weekend, as many were prepping for Sunday night football, I headed to the Bryant Park Hotel to meet up with the group of women that would be apart of OnStar's Women Empowerment weekend. It was a time to get to know about the use of the navigation system within our daily life as well as to get tips on how to enjoy our lives through all activities whether it was having wine at a vineyard, exercising, cooking and of course being car smart in general. I learned a lot about what it is to be women, to enjoy and support one another and to just apply the skills to the everyday life. Above, watch various videos that document this trip.

Wearable Wednesdays ~ His Style Crew Grey

I came back from the Hamptons yesterday and enjoyed running around Sag Harbor in plaid, Sebago's and jeans. Although there will be a full debriefing on this fun trip this weekend, one of the moments that I loved was meeting Alana Kellen, who is a stylist for VH1 and MTV. She took us to a J Crew (which I don't really pop into that much) but this one had a slightly different inventory as it focused on the shore style of dressing. So today, I am inspired by fab shades of grey (one of my go to colors), casual weekend trips (we went to a Farmer's Market that was along the road which was a lot of fun) and of course his sense of casual style.

Cashmere is a must and just because you're wearing it doesn't mean you're going to the office. I love when it is paired with a tee and jeans and casual sneakers that have a bit of pop. Throw on a cap as you get behind the wheel and make sure there is a fab bag to pack up all your gear for whatever it is that you'll be up to! Our J Crew focused spread is perfect for the fall!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Hamptons OnStar Getaway

OnStar is known for the fact that they have created a navigation system that allows you to focus on driving and getting from point A to point B without having to fuss with fiddling with your phone or touching multiple items on your console. Driving while knowing that you're only one button away from an advisor downloading your turn by turn directions is amazing and freeing!

You can follow OnStar on Twitter to find out about this system as well as various editors that have been apart of this event! In addition, you'll find out about fab experts that are good at their lifestyle category from chefs, trainers, stylists and so much more (the hashtag is #OnStarOnPower! Above you will see the video that I created on Sun which I shared via Twitter. I'm obsesssed over the Sony Bloggie which took this and I am still learning how to use it so sorry for the skinny screen as well as the bit of a bumpy ride but it's a fun video.

Mingling Mondays ~ Effortless Style

When the weather is just consistently hot, it's not even worth complaining - seriously we have those crazy winter days and so I'd rather have this weather then the alternative. But you have to work with the weather so I love anything that's easy, breezy and simple. I allow the accessories to take it to another level. This dress is such a great "blank canvas" in that it can be worn to work, brunch, meetings and more. If you feel that you're too exposed, you can layer more necklaces or have a larger piece to take up some of the space. I see this as something I would wear going to an event in the late afternoon. Having a nice pair of flat sandals is a great way to create this Hamptons vibe but having a pop of the gothic jewelry that comes from one of my favorite brands, Virgins, Saints and Angels adds a bit of color. The clutch and the ring add a bit of an edge to this very simple and femme look. Who doesn't love an outfit that doesn't look like you're trying to hard?

Wearable Wednesdays ~ Coach's Fall Poppy Collection From Oasis Days to Crisp Nights

Last week I presented the question of whether everyday could be Poppy, if you missed it then you need to check back to find out about Coach's Poppy Fragrance collection. Now in addition to this amazing launch of Poppy's first fragrance, I'm super excited to be apart of Coach's MYNY Poppy campaign launch for fall! For those that are not familiar with Poppy, this is a fun fresh line that came out last year! How excited am I to show you guys the two images that I shot for the brand? I am always inspired by 70's elements, Audrey Hepburn and Barbie (don't ask) and I think these inspirations tie into both of these looks and yes I would definitely spritz a little Poppy to add to that whimsical but sexy sense of style. I have to say that I fell in love with the pieces that I wore because this collection has elements that you can still wear to the Hamptons, South Beach (my little oasis), etc - it's the perfect summer look! But I'm also excited about the fact that they have fab pieces for the Fall that will be perfect for brunches, crisp walks, Fashion Week and so much more. The only items that were missing in my looks were a fab pair of sunglasses as it's a great way to add an instant change to your overall look!

In the summer I love having a bit of that Boho Chic meets Miami so it's all about light and airy colors! A great way to add pop into the outfit are those nice goddess like qualities such as fab sandals. The Poppy Leather Glam Tote in Gold is beyond phenomenal and I do plan on wearing it to a blogger trip that I will take next month to SoBe, imagine having it at the Delano sitting poolside. It's roomy and fun and whatever the weather happens to be, the sun is always coming from you! I also love the Poppy Lightening Bolt Necklace which has Swarovski Crystals that are afixed to a black thunderbolt. Fun and edgy and works well in the fall as well. I love that this works well whether I'm in NYC or jetsetting!

Now I also received the fab Tyler Moto Jacket in Bordeaux is so chic, I love the Farah Fawcet feeling I had as soon as I put this jacket on! I am all about super cute heels (yes my little Jimmy Choos), a great pair of skinny heels, a tank and an awesome jacket which has fab zipper embellishments! This is something that can really work with my wardrobe and can travel well! Let me just say that when I opened the bag the jacket came in, it was definitely super luxe!

I'm so glad to be apart of this fun campaign and seeing that this is the second time that we have been apart of Coach's fab collaborations I'm excited to see the new collection and to introduce it to you! Also check out Coach's MYNY campaign which can be accessed at the "New at Coach" tab under the MYNY link so that you can see the other amazing bloggers that styled pieces from this collection! Who doesn't love tips on what they should be purchasing this fall season?

Snazzy Sundays ~ Lessons From Breakfast at Tiffany's

What a weekend! Sometimes my weekends mean that I have to get some work in and to run some errands which this happened to be one of them. But beyond getting things done, I was able to have some my bestie, sister and her bf come over, headed out to a fun party (kudos to DJ Eloy, my sister's bf who rocked the Shore Club last night), wake up late and then headed into Brooklyn to grab some dim sum with them! You never know where the weekend will take you and with so many people staying over, going out on trips (Kitten Lounge is going to the Hamptons Fourth of July Weekend and then Miami) and more - it's also fun to have some down time!

I'm inspired by Breakfast at Tiffany's for a number of reasons but ask me my favorite scene and it's the one pictured above! Holly Golightly is a party girl and always knows to have a good time but when it comes to shutting the world out and getting Z's - well she still looks fab. I'm a big believer in people looking just as good for bed as they do in the day! So today's spread encourages you to find cute items to sleep in so that when you and your friends wake the next morning to go over the night's activities, you don't find yourself asking yourself what to put on! If you need to shut out the sound as you're hitting the sack at the same time that others would be getting up, these ear plugs are perfect! Also when it's all about pampering yourself after the hectic nature of the weekend, then I suggest you Lush so your tootsies look fab and to also rejuvenate yourself so that you can do it all over again!

Fashionable Fridays ~ The Aha Moment of Style

Yesterday was the day of all days for me. There were some highs (finally trying out Townhouse Spa and LOVING IT, meeting my new mecca of accessories (hold that thought) and chatting with various people that continue to rock out with ideas that keep me moving and grooving with possibilities. And of course there were the lows - one of them being falling in the middle of Times Square and scraping my elbow - but hey I saved the face haha (can you say embarrassing but we have amazing tourists and NYers who saved a lady in distress that merely wanted to creep and hide into the crevice of the sidewalk). This week has been quite the hustle of hustles and I have learned a lot about what I'm doing and taking it to the next level. Every now and then, I feel the need to share these "aha" moments - random musings but what can I say, it's my version of "Letter from the Editor".

I have always supported and in many cases upheld my belief that social presence has been supreme and that it's a cost effective and yet a great way to reach a large group of people that you may not be able to reach. Of course, being online means that you have to really incorporate social as a means for people to understand your brand and fully engage you; however, lately I have realized that it's super important to still have that in person contact. I have spent the last few weeks doing a lot of coffee chats, touch bases and one on ones. To that end, I have begun creating great events that people can come to to see the product, mingle with their friends etc. Coming up on May 13th we have a fabulous shopping event at Apart Showroom and we will be kicking the summer off with our Splashion Soiree! There are more events like these coming up and some that are in the Hamptons - of course details will follow!

But my intent when I came to NYC was to not only embrace the fashion industry but to provide an all access pass to items that people normally don't have or to be able to "cut the line so to speak" in terms of fashion. In addition, I wanted to make it personal. My concept was to provide people the luxurious experience of finding fab pieces in a truly comfortable environment where they could play with accessories and seriously build their look without having to come to a store during off hours or to buy it out. In addition, this experience could be enjoyed by those who are corporate execs as well as those that are assistants.

Yesterday, I finally found the last puzzle to this and I'm so excited to be able to do personal shopping in a cozy and chic space where you're only limited by your imagination. Being an Accessories Expert and being able to talk about items for the past three years has been amazing but helping you shop with them, that's the best part! If you love being introduced to new designers or have a certain look that you're going for (everyday, prepping for the Hamptons, a night out, bridal, etc) then I am definitely you're go to girl and can connect you with items that are not only dazzling but meet your expectations. Who knew that after this amount of time in the city, I could finally open up this portion of my idea! Simply contact me and we will work on getting your look set up!

Yesterday also became my induction into the world of watches (among other fab accessories) at the Ana Martins Showroom! I have not always been a fan but I fell in love with gorgeous pieces that finally made me wonder if my cuffs would have to finally move onto my left hand so that a dazzling watch could be on my right? Expect to see more watches styled into looks and of course I love bling and conversation pieces so I know you will love them!

So simply put, Kitten Lounge is growing again with great events, coverage (yes it's true we will have a bridal week on the site in June with another in Nov and no I'm not engaged) and finally we are offering personal shopping not only within apparel as we have offered but most importantly within accessories. Look for more information on this as we will kick this off in May 1st but if there are fashion emergencies and you're in NYC, then of course contact me stat! Above are fab accessories that you should become acquainted with, of course styled with a fab look and since we kick off Hamptons style May 1st, we had to go with one of my fave looks!

Mingling Mondays ~ Back to Basics

My style is definitely super easy. I need clothes that I can move in, run around and can cover a number of things as who knows how my day will end up? I am known for having great core basics and then amping it up with accessories. It's a signature and one I continue to perfect over the years! Especially when the weather is so back and forth, it's all about layers and with me, many of my looks in this season and the summer begin with Gap's essential or 'My Favorite Tee/Tank'. Simple colors that can be paired with a number of looks and pieces to ensure that people will ask where you got it from. Throwing a super cute jacket or shrug completes the look and on a day like today, wearing a pair of cute flared pants is a great way to complete the look. Philip Lim's shrug is perfect so that if the weather warms up, you won't be too warm and yet there is a pop of dressiness to this that makes it look like you put thought into your look.

Apart is a brand that you will see a lot of around here and they love Kitten Lounge and its readers so enjoy 10% off of your purchases by using the code - KittenApril as you shop! In fact, for those in NYC, they will have an amazing Hamptons style shopping event next month that I am co-hosting with them and of course, I will share some styling tips with you as well! Finally, a fun piece changes the dynamic of the entire look so Kitten Couture (yes my collection) has created this fun safari/tribal piece that you can wear super long OR that you can wrap. It is inspired by this whole Hamptons theme that will be kicked off on the site in May and is made of shells, wooden beads, snail shell, botswana agate and glass beads - but it's super light! This is definitely going back to basics for Spring.

Even though we're not even half way through to the end of the month, there are lots of great things going on at Kitten Lounge, Kitten Couture and our partners. For those that were participating in our Exhale events for this week, due to some switches, we are now doing this April 26th (with a fun event on this date) - May 3rd. We will also share with you our Hamptons Guide which launches the first of the month, our 4 Hamptons Totes that we are giving way (the value is over $500 per tote), our Hamptons Baby Shower baskets, our Hamptons event with Apart and so much more - there's lots going on so you'll definitely want to make sure that you're signed up for our newsletters and tweets to stay in the know!

Wearable Wednesdays ~ The Resort Runway

I'm already thinking about Miami Swim Fashion Week. Although the dates haven't been set, it's one of the Fashion Weeks that I tend to be unable to go to - until this year! Nothing is better than running from show to show in beautiful settings and having guaranteed gorgeous weather. I live for dresses like the one that Nicole Miller has above and due to so much color, I love having my accessories maintain the black theme with pops of their own color. Ranjana Khan has a gorgeous beaded necklace that is perfect for this dresses' neckline. If you feel a bit bare wearing something so deep, thinking of having a necklace that takes up some of the space so you're not so visible! The cuff by Robert Wan is not only a wide cuff but I love the pearls that pop out of it as if you're emerging from the see and to cap it off, I love the chunky ring by Iosselliani which has such a raw element to it! Together, you're decked out whether you're attending a show or a Hamptons pool party!

Mingling Mondays ~ Resort Chic Parties

Spring may have come last Sat but it's been flirting with us the past couple of days! I know it's super greedy and I should just be happy with the elevated temperatures but I'm already thinking of resort baby! You know fab outfits when you're out at various events be it on the rooftops in Manhattan, South Beach, the Hamptons, etc. Yes, I love embracing my new love of color but there are times that I want to be the sassy island empress in black. Although I live in maxi dresses, I love this one shoulder pant suit which really allows you to go daring with your accessories.I love Aminaka Wilmont's Black Cut Bodysuit which is available at Blue & Cream Boutique! They have a location downtown and once the Hamptons is back in my future this summer, I will definitely stop by there shop. What I love is the fact that there are so many designers out there and this boutique is always on trend with pieces that you'll be salivating over. Since this piece is already eye catching and is perfect for a night out of shmoozing and dancing, Pamela Love's Arrowhead Chain Ring with Cuff is instantly my fave piece! I love the fact that it adorns your arm and it is the epitome of having a conversation piece! Top it off with this Lucite Handle Clutch by Ricky Designs which ensures that you won't lose it as you hit the dance floor. Finally, the Thorn Dagger Earrings by Stephen Webster Rapture have a sexy edge to them that will ensure that everyone's eye is on you!

Mingling Mondays ~ Transition into Spring

Um there has been quite a bit of snow and last night I heard that we have the possibility of two more snowstorms coming! Although I'm a huge fan of the winter Olympics and love snowboarding, I am so over the snow. This week, I'm officially in the spring state of mind and refuse to think about anymore sweaters, layers, etc! It's all about cute dresses, heels, letting your toes be free and so much more! So of course, I had to kick in the color and no look would be complete without having a few fab accessories. This is perfect for weekend getaways, brunch and so many more Hamptons events! Check out some of my favorite designers and begin to build your wardrobe for the next season and try not to get too chilly when you go outside!

Trendy Tuesdays ~ The Goddess Within

I'm officially over the cold temperatures! I know that you guys have heard me talk in previous posts about loving boots and the idea of layering but the fact is, that I am a summer girl trapped in a seasonal world! With that said, you will see a lot of spring/summer posts even when it's super chilly outside! One of my favorite looks involves a maxi dress. I love the fact that you can wear super cute sandals and yet your dress is so long, it's ok that you're not wearing heels. In fact, you just ensured that you'll be able to dance throughout the night without an issue! When you want the maxi dress to be spiced up, think about wearing this fab one shoulder look and then pairing your bear shoulder with a long cuff and and your other arm can wear this antiqued cocktail ring. I love bringing a new take on the goddess look which wears well in Miami, the Hamptons and anytown USA!

Fashion Week Edition Spring 2010 ~ Rosa Cha

Fashion Week is on and it kicked off with a bang with one of my favorite shows, Rosa Cha! I have loved this Brazilian swimwear line ever since I can remember and you can search for last year's show that I covered as well to see various portions of her line from the suits to the cover ups! Each one is flawless and ensures that you look absolutely stunning whether you're on the beaches of Rio or simply hanging out in the Hamptons. This year's coverage will be different as opposed to showing various looks, I will take a look and then accessorize it to give you a theme! So since we're looking at Spring 10 fashions, I wanted to blend in some of my favorite looks. I'm a huge fan of Tortoise Shell and Amber there is something very old world about it and when used together with just the right pieces you look like the goddess of whatever space you happen to be occupying at the time! Today's theme is the Egyptian Hollywood Look. I love how this black and white bikini can be worn anywhere and since sometimes you go to parties where swimwear is the outfit, why not think of ways that you can take a piece and dress it up! A large cuff is a must and really makes your arms seem longer and quite slim. The Bib Necklace is a piece that I think is an essential (I wear one about 2 - 3 times a week and seriously dresses up the most casual look) and of course the large sunglasses are a must. I love that these have a ring detail on the side which is perfect when you're lounging and as you know - I believe the large cocktail ring is central to any look that I put together.
