Last night was an interesting night. First, it never fails that I accept one invitation only to find that there are a few more events going on the same night! But what's a girl to do but think about which one is the perfect one for the readers and of course, herself. Last night one of my two events that I attended was a Jimmy Choo and Vogue.tv event that was held at their boutique on Madison Ave. Now words can't express what I felt just going to this store. It had been a crazy day but upon entering, I became relaxed and went from feeling rushed to being in awe. I have to say that I have never been to the store and the intimate vibe that it gives off is one that instantly makes you feel at home. This event allowed bloggers to come and intereact with not only those that worked with the store but their president, Brian (who was amazing and so down to earth in explaining the brand) in addition to other key individuals in the company. To see the passion that they felt for the brand, made me think of my photoshoot with DVF and working with their staff.
When I think of Jimmy Choo, I do think of it as such an iconic brand - to me, it's like Tiffany's and a staple in the industry (I can't say how many times I enjoyed watching Breakfast at Tiffany's and how I identified with the Holly Golightly in her affinity for the brand). The same can be said here; however, it's amazing that the company has only been around since 1996! But the icon factor for me, came while seeing it on various episodes of Sex and the City. As much as I loved the design, I have always had a hard time fitting into designer shoes. As much as my feet are small, they are also a little wide and sometimes a delicate shoe makes my foot look as it has been stuffed in! This was not the case here!
In this economy where people are making choices about many of their shopping purchases, I find myself still buying the same way and feeling that having something that is a quality purchase means more then buying something that won't last as long or that I won't feel excited about the purchase. Although Jimmy Choo may be at a price that's above the moderate range, the comfort that one feels is AMAZING. These shoes with amazing heels make your foot feel comfortable and as Brian said, you can run in them (don't even get me started on my experience in airports to catch a flight). From day to night and everything in between this is definitely a shoe that's worth having in your closet and one that you will go back to in time.
Not only was this presentation about the iconic nature of the brand but also where they're going. We were given a peek into the world of Jimmy Choo with peeks at the handbags and shoes that will be hitting shelves in the fall. I definitely had my eye on a few pieces which you will see in the gallery. In addition, I also saw an amazing wellie that is one my list. In a collaboration with Hunter boots, they have made a croc wellie that's $395! It's amazing and as much as I love my Marc Jacobs wellies, I must have the ones from Hunter & Jimmy Choo. At the end of the night, and after hours of being surrounded by shoe luxury, we were given a pair of shoes (which will be included in a future post). I am in LOVE with this pair and couldn't stop looking at them even when I got home! A brand that works for all times of the day, all types of situations and one that continues to push what it means for them to be competitive within the market as well as maintaining their quality and percision is one that I definitely want to continue to have in my closet!
There are certain times during the year that I absolutely love to be in the midst of shopping mania! One of them is when Lucky Magazine holds its Lucky Shops event! I love going and checking out a variety of items that are greatly reduced while enjoying some cocktails. Each fall that I have attended, the deals have been better and I have walked away with some great finds and awesome goodies to go with it (I am still giddy about my Tory Burch bag and the most amazing CK seamless panties - TMI I know but I love them so it's ok). This year, Lucky Shops will be at the Metropolitan Pavilion on November 7th and 8th. This year the denim bar is back thanks to Lycra and of course Singer will be there for complimentary hemming. Lucky's "The Lucky Guide to Mastering Any Look" will be available for purchase and I love that Benefit will have a Brow Bar. With so many giveaways available and more, you'll want to get your tickets to be apart of this. In addition, the lovelies at Lucky Shops want to give you a little love so we have a giveaway for the coveted goodie bag! One of you will win this bag stuffed to the brim with goodies by visiting the site and providing comments here on the following question: Tell me why you like Lucky Shops and what you hope to get while there from the vendors that will be attending this shopping event. Those with the correct answer will be randomly drawn. Winners will be announced on Oct 24th! If you're going let me know and I'm sure I will see you there!
Growing up, many of us were all about the Pop Up Books. There's something about turning a page and then realizing that something is much closer than what it would be in a traditional book. As we grew up, we got over the Pop Up Books but the idea still lives on - after all a Pop Up's beauty is that it lets you grasp something that you normally wouldn't be able to and as quick as it seems to come, it's gone again. Case in point is Ananas' Pop Up Store for her handbags which will be on the LES! This handbag designer is making sure that everyone has the opportunity to experience her pieces but for a limited time beginning June 24th - July 15th. Not only will you get the experience but you get first dibs on handbags, scarves, jewelry, etc that won't hit stores until Aug! In addition with your purchases, you will have the opportunity to receive a special tote that bares the logo included within this post. This is a great way to go from enjoying her collection online to being able to come to the store. But like any other Pop Up Book experience, when that last page is read, it will definitely be over. Get ready now by visiting her site and as she turns the page on this event, you can see her shop for yourself!

I am looking for the perfect clutch! Yes it takes a bit to find the right one. I always see those that are great to pair with certain outfits; however, I have yet to find one that is my "Go To" bag. I love this clutch which I think would work with a variety of outfits (but don't think it's quite the one - so the search continues). This clutch is from Gianfranco Ferre and has the brown logoed canvas and leather that runs thorughout the clutch. This is perfect for the evening or to pair with your denim outfits. If this clutch isn't what you had imagined to purchase, check out other items that are available on Forzieri which is known for their Italian products that they carry. I love that they have great designers from those that you know and those that possibly you may not be as familiar with. You're guaranteed to find something that will definitely work out and getting introduced to something that you would have never known.
