Those of you who know me know that I am a huge Hello Kitty fan as I love all things that are cute and whimsical. Over the past few years I have become a fan of tokidoki as I love a number of their creations - mainly Unicorno. This brand (much like Hello Kitty) not only has their own series of characters and products but the number of collaborations and licenses that they have is astounding (and oh yes they have also worked with Hello Kitty).
With Fashion Month coming to a close for the fall season and many of you are headed out to or are in SXSW (and let's not forget that Coachella kicks off next month, I was pleased to get an email from SOL REPUBLIC about getting these fab headphones and offering it to my readers. SOL REPUBLIC has amazing headphones as it has great sound quality. When I'm out and about, I wear the in ear headphones (I have these in grey) and when I hop a flight. the headphones that sit on my ear (these I customized so that it was a vibrant pink from cord to headband) - they're comfortable and that's an essential. Over the Christmas holiday, I gave a pair away and so it was a no brainer to partner up and do it again!
The SOL REPUBLIC and tokidoki Tracks HD fuse art with music to create two new Tracks HD on-ear headphones featuring SOL REPUBLIC’s signature interchangeability, amazing sound, and virtually indestructible design, these two exclusive Tracks HD headphones integrate colors, characters and trendsetting designs that are signature tokidoki. With their collaboration with tokidoki, I couldn't say no to these headphones and my boyfriend just snagged this pair yesterday and loves rocking to his music in them. When purchasing this, you have two versions to choose from (check them out), both showcasing the world of tokidoki, you receive a cute little toy and an easy to carry case for your headphones. For those that follow me on Instagram, you know that I kicked this contest off yesterday afternoon!
To enter, visit my Instagram page @AccessoriesExpert and tell me what your favorite tokidoki character is (I love Unicorno). One winner will be selected on March 30th and you will receive a pair of the headsets pictured within my Instagram image! Remember, I will only select a winner from comments left on my Instagram page.
As you read this, I just completed Day 5 of my 12 week Revolt Now Fitness with Nichole Huntsman. She's like having a personal trainer that you can do from your phone (I did that earlier this week as it was a crazy day), tablet (check) and your laptop! More on this in a few paragraphs. As you know, I'm always working out and I'm a huge believer in looking amazing when you're doing it. I am that girl who will still wear makeup, super cute outfits and more as I never think there is a reason to look less than your best. This week, I have been rocking some cute looks and wanted to share a few of my fave key pieces for the next time your hitting the workout routines!
I always rock a bit of pink when I work out, some workouts are intense and a bright hue can make you push through that wall! This pink sports bra by Under Armour is a great way to keep you cool and you can layer a fun tank on top of it if you feel like you don't want to show that much skin. I love pairing this within my Victoria's Secret Pink Colts shorts (although I've lived in NYC for over 10 years, I'm from Indiana originally and this is my fave football team) which is perfect for when you're hitting the gym super hard. When I'm not doing yoga and am doing super cardio, it's all about wearing the right shoes and I love these navy and pink New Balance sneakers. There are times I head to the gym and come home but I still have quite a few things that I take with me so this super cute Hello Kitty duffle is definitely about the business of working out. Since the weather is still chilly here, it's all about the hoodie and I do love a little retro love - so this is Adidas one is the perfect look wherever you're going! Complete the look with a fab accessory that won't get in the way - Catherine Michiels is definitely a great piece. I find that when you're hitting the gym or whatever your workout is (and yes these can be used on a daily basis even when not working out), ENERGYbits can be swallowed with liquid (it's not a pill though) or chewed and is made of 100% algae. It boosts your energy, balances your blood sugar and is also a meal replacement - just to name a few things that it does which can help you.
Now this time of year is crazy, it's post the holiday season, the spring/summer is coming up, I start booking a lot of work and like any woman in this time of year, you want to prep the body to look amazing. So I have been doing a number of workouts and one of them includes Nichole Huntsman's Revolt Now Fitness. I love that she has videos that range between 21 - 40 minutes which allows you to work out, learn why these exercises are beneficial to building muscle and she creates a very conversational tone. In this challenge, if you work out as well as eat the menu that she has set out, you're bound to see significant results within 6 - 12 weeks. I have to say that even after doing it for the past 4 days with her instructed day off, beyond feeling sore, I feel the results beginning which is such a win! I love that for under $10 a month, you have access to her videos and whether you're doing it at home, on the road, etc it's worth making the commitment to yourself. I can tell you that there are times that I double up her workouts or I also go into a number of other routines that I love to do!
This Thanksgiving, we got a fab surprise, we actually saw the parade from our windows. I loved being able to see the preview as it made its way down 6th avenue! As many of you know, Hello Kitty is one of my favorite characters and seeing her balloon glide down the street was so much fun! As is typical during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (which was in its 86th year of running on a gorgeous day in NYC), there are a number of performances that take place. Carly Rae Jepsen sand one of her songs and bundles up while showcasing pops of color! Many times when people think of what they will wear, it becomes a little tougher when it comes to dressing for colder temperatures. To show pops of different colors, how about rocking spring/summer tones in the fall/winter - it's a great way to stand out and for Carly, it keeps her looking sweet!
I'm loving these Marc by Marc Jacobs coral leggings which are comfortable to stand at long periods on a float, traveling or shopping. When it comes to your outerwear, how can you not love this Michael Kors cape style, double breasted belted coat. I think this is such a timeless look and provides structure and comfort to the outfit. This way, she is able to perform while showcasing a specific style as opposed to one that suggests that she is wearing a coat to stay warm. Lengthen your leg and show the look pulled together with these over the knee boots by Steve Madden. We love that she is popping in a rocker style element to her look and these boots with their buckle detailing will assist in the look. If you're singing, you have to have a fab statement ring as your hand will be on the mike - so I suggest this multi stone ring by Stephen Dweck. Finally, a hat is a fab way to cap off your look. I am not a fan of the black hat that Carly wore and would have opted for this Mischa Lampert Beanie XL Hat which blends in grey (yes I love mixing neutrals) and this coral hue!
Here at Kitten Lounge, we love our location! The surprise was on us that the parade was viewable from our windows this year! It's interesting to be able to see the floats, bands and balloons prior to when it is being broadcasted. Although we didn't have the insane views that we have seen, we were able to lean into our windows to catch a number of fab balloons. Although I missed filming Hello Kitty, I do love seeing Spider Man which is shown below. It's amazing how fast it goes by! Happy Thanksgiving to all and watch out for our posts over the next few days for Black Friday, Shop Small - Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday.
I love that the New Year continues to cycle through as you have New Year's Eve, Ukranian New Years and additional ones that allow all of us to kick off the year with a fresh start and renewed senses. This year, Jan 23rd is Chinese New Year! I have been told that Chinese New Year or the Lunar year spans a number of days and in that light, today and tomorrow we honor this holiday on Kitten Lounge! This year is known as the year of the Dragon and today's beauty post focuses on all beauty products that have that dragon tie in. Some were named to be included within the holiday and to acknowledge it and others include the name and work well with this post simply based on the theme!
Around Kitten Lounge, I have fallen in love with Gianna Rose Atelier Soaps which has year of the dragon soaps in fragrants scents that incorporate a blend of Green Tea, Ginger and Bergamot. This box contains four soaps within in and I love that it is unisex as Paul has embraced these soaps as well! Cartier's Le Baison Du Dragon has a fab ornate bottle that incorporates this theme and as you're running around the streets and ensuring that your face is flawless, Sephora and Hello Kitty present a compact mirror in gold that honors 2012's Year of the Dragon. We always think about our guys when it comes to Jack Black which keeps his lips moist with this Dragon Ice and I love that it pulls double duty as the scents are just as fab for women!
I have been a fan of Hello Kitty ever since I could remember so of course I officially wanted to wish her a Happy Birthday which kicks off for the month of November. I know that the merchandise has been around since 1976 and being a 1979 baby I can say that I grew up with this brand from having school sets complete with staplers to being able to enjoy the luxe high end nature of it as well! I never travel without my Bling Mirror which is shown above and is available at Sephora along with a myriad of beauty items that will sass up your every day routine. In addition, she makes the perfect look when it comes to the perfect tee (available at Tilly's) which can be paired with a fab look when you're running around town! Get business done with this fab business card holder from Swarovski as well as the fab over the top ring which shows that cuteness and business can happen together. Finally, it's all about pulling it together. With the weather we're having lately, it's all about ensuring that you stay warm with these knit leggings from Y's, and perfectly layered with this leather jacket from Acne Studios and rock out with these heeled Hunter Boots (even if it's not raining or snowing you won't be caught unprepared)!
All that gliiters is Swarovski. I have had an obsession with this since early 2000 and if I could encrust everything with these stones, you would definitely see me coming and going. Today's post is throwing love to these stones and to your vanity. Thinking about what a Swarovski world would be like is so much easier when you have Judith Leiber's perfume sitting on your stand! Night has an intense scent with oriental notes in it. It's for that glammed up evening where you will embody bergamot, black cinnamon (so decadent), spices, flowers, carmelized amber, patchouli and more. Even when it's not in use, you can enjoy the appearance of this Art Deco design which makes you feel like it's a super cute clutch.
To have this phenomenal bottle, just imaging upgrading your Tweezers (for those that do this although I am an eye threading girl). Who doesn't love fab stones decking out this tool and of course, Hello Kitty is always welcome in whatever I am doing but how cute is this Swarovski Crystal hand mirror that's pink and fabulous? It's the little things that make me super happy and this is definitely a nice way to add a wow factor before you even head out the door.
I am super excited! It seems like I have been talking about it forever but I woke up to 20 degree weather here in NYC and by later this afternoon, I will be rocking in 75 degree temperature and relaxing in my hotel room waiting for my HSN air date on Wed 23rd for my 2am, 7am and 3pm slots! It's another project with Sebago and I will take you through their cute collection that has been curated for their premier appearance! As always I will be providing behind the scenes images, videos and more. To kick it off, I wanted to give you a sneak peek of my carry on bag. For those who know about my obsession with Hello Kitty and my love of Matchta Cream Puffs by Beard Papa - you'll notice that they have a fun collab and I will be rocking this bag in the Terminal 5 Jet Blue section!
I no longer carry my Travel Cow Mookie with me when I fly, starting this year, I have Chompy the alligator who is apart of the beanies collection. Something whimsical to calm me down. My iPad is protected by my Rebecca Minkoff cover (and I love my matching coin purse). My laptop is also with me for items that can't necessarily be done on the iPad. I still keep it retro with a stack of magazines (and my need to scour through West Elm with a new apartment to furnish). I even have a little black book for quick topics to jot down, my lip balm that never fails me and of course a small assortment of product in my cosmetic bag - all FAA approved in terms of their size! Of course, I still have my iPod with me (charging) as well as my HTC phone so I am all set and teched out! You'll hear from me later on today and stay tuned by reading the posts this week about HSN and of course you can follow and tweet me @CocoaBebe!
There is something to be said about embracing black - it's not to say that it is drab or that it is even morbid. But in many ways, it is super romantic especially during the holiday season. Many people feel that when you are wearing something that is predominantly black, that the only way to make it look phenomenal is to pop in another color. I say that although that is totally an option, there is something slightly whimsical about taking black and adding more into it to bring out that inner ballerina look and feel. As soon as I saw this tulle dress by BCBG, I knew that I wanted to maintain the black theme and to continue the dream like sense from this gorgeous pair of Christian Louboutin chiffon pumps (which the little polka dots are super cute) and then to add in more whimsy with these amazing Hello Kitty earrings in onyx which pair amazingly well with the ring from Tiffany's. Together, everything has such an allure to it that you can just imaging being the belle of the ball. This same look can be re-interpreted within a number of looks whether it is a ball gown or it is a much shorter number. These are great items to take into account when you are getting dressed for the holiday season or even the biggest night of the year or the first one of the next!
There are days that are meant for shorts and a tee and then there are days that you want to regain that collegiate feeling and rock a graphic tee! I may just be speaking for myself but I have those days and I give in! This is when I'm running around on personal errands, doing work in the afternoons on my balcony or on a rooftop! Yet you still have to be fashionable! Now I have never seen any of the Twilight movies nor have I read the books (I know GASP) but everyone has done something that either ties into the movie or is about it. Now Mighty Fine is one of my favorite graphic tee lines and I ADORE Hello Kitty! So seeing that they have gotten into the Team Werewolf or Team Vampire debate it's a cute way to rock the movie. Now these aren't official Twilight tees but how cute are they. So regardless of your team or if you're like me and had no idea but just think it looks cute, enjoy your Friday while you check out a fun way to spice up tees when you're out and about.
This is it! The last weekend of Spring 2010 it's Dunzie Dunzos! If you happen to be enjoying the summer weather let this weekend go out with a bang as Mon morning we will officially be in the summer season! I am beyond thrilled and plan to take in a lot of the beach, enjoy some parties and hit up some other summer randomness. On weekends where there are no set plans, I love dressing easy breezy and only carrying what I really need - but I always rock a fab piece no matter how relaxed I am (I'm also obsessed with Hello Kitty)! There are a lot of exciting things that are coming up and kudos to the brands that are taking us up on our $21 offer to be included within our Hamptons Guide which continues to grow (if you know of someone that has a fab brand and a website, they can get in the Hamptons Guide for the entire summer thanks to our super special summer promo but this deal ends at the end of today)! Happy spring it's been real and now let's get to the business of the summer! Are you Liking us - really? Then make sure to follow our Kitten Lounge Facebook Page as there are goodies in store coming soon!
Today has been a hectic day but in the evenings I'm starting to go to dinners, birthday parties, holiday events and more. So even though the day is spent with me just keeping up with everything, I like the ability to go out to look like a million bucks. My outfits are always simple and of course, I love to pile on the accessories! Today, we're focuing on Free People's one shoulder dress which you can wear as a dress or with leggings if you're so inclined. Nothing is better (at least for me) than to have a solid color and then to pop in one of my favorite skins - python to add a little texture and to make the whole look pop! Whether you have a pair of python slingbacks or this super cute clutch that also serves as a bracelet, you're all set. To add a little more glam, Hello Kitty is not only adorable but decadent in Citrine and a Cameo - you can't get any classier than this is the perfect ring! You'll shine for all of your events while being completely comfortable!
I am so excited - as many of you know, next month, Hello Kitty's line will be available on MAC. If you have yet to hear about it and want to know more, you need to sign up! Although the products will only be available for a limited time, I am so excited that there is not only a diversified product assortment but that it has varying price ranges so that everyone can get in on the fun. If you haven't gone to the site in awhile, you'll love the site which has cute imaging.
Even though it's NYC, I love that you can take a moment to leave your offices and go to a hidden park or even on 53rd and Madison to enjoy Hello Kitty and her friend Merry Melody as fountains. The summer may end soon but you can always take a breather and find a place to grab some nibbles and to take a breather!
