If you're running around today to get some last minute shopping done whether it's for gifts or to get your home in order for guests, it's not REALLY last minute as this is the day before Christmas Eve and the last Sunday prior to Christmas Day. The Kitten Lounge has been remote working on a number of fab updates that will take affect in the new year but we're definitely in holiday mode! Today, we're inspired by green and how this can be in your home as guests come over! As there is nothing wrong with a little sparkle, we had to share this show stopping dress that's perfect during the holiday season and is very regal by Alice + Olivia. This is perfect whether you're planning for a New Year's Eve party, an innauguration or another special event in your life.
Bring in some pop of this color as well as other hues of green with this vase by Crate and Barrel and an open mouthed container that's colorblocked at Anthropologie to add some decor options into your space. As you may be spending some hours cooking a fabulous meal or having others assist, ensure that you're in the holiday season with Staub's cooking set essentials (available at Williams Sonoma cooking) which is perfect for what you'll be having. Finally, sit down at your dinner table with plates by L'Objet Fortuny. From now until the end of year, we'll bringing some fun lists of things that we love, recapping over the following year and spending a bit of time down memory lane!
It's getting to be at about that time when you only have a few hours to get the gifts that you want others to enjoy! We have a number of accessories that are perfect for you and who you're gifting! Egard Watches is a fabulous series of limited edition watches that are perfect to bring his look together. In addition, he could use fabulous cufflinks and why not have white and black diamonds on them to ensure that he's snazzy from Luisaviaroma. Of course when it comes to her (and what you may think of sending my for Christmas) are these fabulous Yves Saint Laurent Blue Tribtoo stunning metallic blue shoes! These will dress any jeans and simple looks. In addition, we're loving Ramiro Encizo's Petit Noor Tote in this neon cherry wash that allows bright pink to mix in with the neutral tones of this bag.
There's nothing like snuggling in your home whether it's curling up with a loved one, a good book, your laptop, watching TV or whatever you do when you get inside your four walls! As always, every Sunday we look at how to enhance our living space with a nod to a fab fashionable item. Today, we've fallen in love with this fabulous Mary Green (in addition to doing fabulous lingerie, she is also the designer of fabulous sleep masks and it wasn't until including today's chemise, that I realized that she created the very much so coveted Breakfast at Tiffany's inspired sleeping mask that you may have seen all over a number of websites - so on our list this year and a must when traveling) 1930's chemise which is available at Brooklyn Fox Lingerie! I love the ornate silk and lace garment which is perfect for lounging around the house on a weekend! You can also check out more items available at this fab boutique as in addition to lingerie, they have a number of swimwear brands, shapewear and more. This classic hue can be placed throughout your home just in time for the holiday as well as when this season is over.
Deck your trees, mantles and more with these fabulous Gold Sequin Ornaments which keep the holidays as accessorized as it should be thanks to the Land of Nod! Add more pop and texture to your window seat, bed, couch or favorite chair with this fabulous Donna Karan Glimmer Star pillow at Neiman Marcus. Place your petite gifts in these fab Champagne Frost Christmas Stockings at Neiman Marcus. Feel like royalty with Isabella Collection by Kathy Fielder in a Damask style at another of our fave retailers, Horchow. Adorn your walls with a Gold Antoinette Mirror at Neiman Marcus and after a day of enjoying the indoors in a luxe way, prepare your beverage of choice in Same Cristallerie Four Gold-Patterned Goblets Neiman Marcus.
Last night, I had the chance to chit chat with party planner and bridal planner extraordinaire, David Tutera! We know that the holiday season is a crazy time period as you want to hang out with friends and family, have parties to plan, gifts to purchase and there's only so much that a person can do! When stress starts to hit, people tend to notice that this leads to frequent heart burn (that acid feeling that makes it hard for you to go to sleep, that has a burning sensation and all the symptoms that come with it)! I sat with Dr Steven Lamm who talked about the fact that stress is triggered when you realize that you have time crunches, a number of items on your plate, expectations that you want to meet and more. Dr Lamm is passionate about good digestive health which is a combination of a balanced diet and reducing stress - both are essential and of course when things flare up, having Prevacid 24HR and taking it as prescribed will help you!
In talking with David (who suffers from frequent heartburn and learned how to manage his stress levels), the main take away was honest expectations and living in the moment. We stress out when we take on too many things, don't delegate when needed, and don't participate within our own activities (stressing while our party that we planned is going on when we should be our own guest). When we manage our expectations and have appropriate realities we can have fun. In addition, use the tricks when you can! If you're planning a get together, here are some tips that we must keep in mind to make Holiday 12 a success:
• Decorate simply & quickly by choosing one item and using it in abundance
• For soft lighting, add candles. I love using tea lights along window sills or across a mantle
• Add ambiance with a soft, jazzy soundtrack or use nature’s soundtrack - a crackling fire
• Simplify the menu by having one homemade signature dish and supplement with frozen foods plated on unique serving dishes
• To create a welcoming environment, stay calm and stress free! Everyone has different reactions to stress - I know that my frequent heartburn can flare up, so whatever your issue, make sure to arm yourself with what you need
Can you believe how amazing the weather has been this week and the fact that it's December and we're enjoying 60's weather! Nothing is cuter than when couples rock matching hues and go all out to ensure that their puppy looks equally as fabulous! So I love the idea of rocking black and cobalt blue as it looks fab. I'm a huge fan of wearing skinnies whether it's Cushnie Et Ochs in leather leggings for her and these fab Dsquared2 slim fit jeans for him which look amazing! I am a big fan of black tees - for him, I love this Nell Barrett V-Neck (double) and for her, OBSESSED with this LGB Vibration sleeveless t. How can you not love this gold thunderbolt (it's like The Flash) and to accent, either person can rock this Botto Giuseppe scarf. This blue color continues to your shoes with heels by Jerome C Rousseau (exclusive to Intermix I love these booties) and he can rock uber sexy Prada kilt lace ups that also have blue. Once again, play twinsies with this fab cap by Eugenia Kim and for her, rock this Gucci White Gold ring which is FAB! Finally, we're loving that the gold thunderbolt shows how fab you can accessorize with your pooch with this Couture by Sophie fabulous bag for your puppy, matching leash and this jacket! We love this line as it was apart of Shoe Week during NYFW and TODAY will be making its debut at a fun trunk show this evening. Check out more from Couture by Sophie's, Icon Collections at D Pet Hotels in Chelsea (104 W 27th St Btwn 6th/7th Ave from 7 - 9pm). Shop, nibble and sip and RSVP at Chelsea.NYC@DPetHotels.com. We also love it as this bag is cruelty free as it's a high vegan leather grade AND the fur is faux - who doesn't want to walk around the city with this fab and uber chic family?
One of my favorite color combos is charcoal and pink fused together! It's fun to wear if you're off to work, running to meetings or even to have drinks with the girls. I'd say rock this look out with the following items - start off with this fab pink ruffled blouse which is the perfect femme quality to add to this look by Moschino Cheap & Chic. Pair this with fabulous skinny jean leggings by Adriano Goldschmied and add a bit of texture with this charcoal and pink blazer via Paul Smith! Of course it's all about fabulous accessories which will up this look to a whole other level. I'm loving this fabulous ring by Mossa by M.g. which has a bit of a caged look with this pink quartz ring. Continue this look by adding in this large fan charcoal bracelet by Alexis Bittar and add a bit of a rocker edge with Camilla Skovgaard as we're a fan of spikes and love how fabulously pink these heels are.
With the hectic holiday coming up, you have to do some mental escapism. We were checking out Anthropologie (our favorite store) and found some items that would be perfect. We love this tent (the floor is not included) because you can create your own oasis. Imagine being on an island and prior to arriving, having a team add a floor to the bottom of the tent so that you could move furniture into the space. Check out the inset as the inside has that warm carnelian hue on the walls. If you're floating within a tent, you want lounging furniture, fun pillow pops and of course, you want to have a few mixed cocktails so why not continue the orange hues within this fab Kumquat Pitcher! I believe that the final layer is the perfect bikini and this Missoni as well as fun Quiksilver board shorts for him!
Happy December! We are now 31 days from the end of the year - can you believe it? It's amazing how fast 2012 has gone and it seems like we all have some crazy stories. Now it's about wrapping things up, kindling good things for next year and trying to spend as much time with friends and family as possible. We launched our Holiday Gift Guide last month and now we're excited to include another series of goodies that's perfect for you to think about whether you're gifting for yourself and others! We have a number of brands including Affinitas Intimates, Balsam Hill, Shobha, Korres, Marissa del Rosario, Beam Laser Spa, VelaShape, Sol Republic and so much more! We also have a series of giveaways to be included within here as well which will help you with your list.
We have been a fan of Linea Pelle for years and now you can win this fab bag known as the Jesse Speedy which is perfect for the fall and all the holiday events that you will be heading to as 2012 quickly comes to a close! We love the ease of this bag and how it also can dress up your look while carrying everything that you need (meaning that you'll have to pass on some items that we carry as our necessities such as our laptops - it's about having the important items so you can have a great time).
We're making it super easy to enter simply click here to join Linea Pelle's list which will not only give you an instant code on something you may have your eye on now as well as to keep you looped into sample sales, product launches etc BUT ALSO make sure that you TWEET and FOLLOW @LineaPelle and @KittenLounge to say where you will #RockJesse and a winner will be announced on Mon, Dec 3rd by Team Kitten Lounge.
This holiday season is going to be insane! I'm in the midst of launching a new line that's weeks away, already projecting a few projects for 2013 and definitely ending the year strong! This year has been insane when you think about how many things took place and how I met new people as well as was able to get back in touch with old friends (here I am pictured with the uber talented, stylish, acclaimed photographer and Beauty Guru, Franco Lacosta who I'm beyond thrilled to know and who shot me for a fun DVF project 5 years ago!
To get through the last few weeks of 2012, it's all about style that adds a pop of color as the late fall/winter is when I love rocking grey, black, neutral tones and more. I also believe that it's essential to keep the beauty love flowing! Over the past few days, I have been sharing what my musts are and so today I tackle fab go to's when you're out and about, whether it's at work, meeting with friends or just being a busy girl on the go. I JUST received Murad's Energizing Pomegranate Lip Protector which keeps them soft and ready for the camera. I'm always about fun color and I LOVE Deborah Lippmann's Dark Side of the Moon which is vampy and rich! I love that whether you rock short (I tend to) or long nails - it looks fab. A statement ring is a must and I love to rock interesting ones such as this one by Alexis Bittar - how can you not find rich depth in this vine? Chan Luu is about more then just jewelry, but this dip dyed color is phenom and is the best of spring and fall! I love a large frame and when the air gets super chilly, wearing shades ensures that my eyes don't water and irritate my skin - these Gucci frames are fabulous. Finally, Sergio Rossi has a fab pair of heels that jazz up my leggings and skinny jeans - love when you're ready for any and every moment with these essentials!
This is the last weekend before a massive holiday so we have to relax and enjoy our homes prior to all the activity that is about to place. On weekends like this, we want to relax with our friends and roomies over tea, drinks and sushi! We love Haute House's tufted sofa available at Neiman Marcus which brings Old World charm to your home and is fab to pop your pillows of choice. This Taka table is also available at Neiman Marcus as this is another way to ground the room and to create warmth. Bodum's tea pot is a perfect way to infuse your tea or have tea cocktails which can be enjoyed in Jars glasses which has this great Grecian - antiqued vibe. Sip cocktails from these Marc Blackwell fabulous glassware which has accents of silver. Extend your seating with these felted wool stone pillows by Viva Terra which continue pops of grey within your living room. Finally, have this sushi set by Rosenthal at the ready. Whether you make your own sushi OR you order take out, this is a great way to present it.
It's funny, everyone that I have been talking to over the past few weeks all seem to be saying the same thing - that the month of Oct was a crazy series of weeks and nothing short of a test to say the least! Many of us dusted ourselves off and focused on being positive and making headway. Being in NYC, we not only had the hurricane, the aftermath of it but there were also a ton of things that took place that definitely felt like I was getting a chaotic learning experience. Coming into Nov, I was still feeling the shakes but at least, there was a light at the end of the tunnel and I was seeing the makings of what I truly wanted even though I had no idea that all the chaos, stress and near "holy crap" moments could lead to what I wanted. When I hit those points, I dig deep within and get into uber focus mode which means a lot of work, internal assessment and I emerge on a whole other level.
Every now and then, I like to talk about what you can expect over the next few weeks and now that we're days away from being apart of the festive holidays, Kitten Lounge will be in holiday mode to talk about dressing you to the ultimate fabulous person that you are! Kitten Lounge will also be incorporating a number of items that I have been working on - like my line which will be out next month in one of my most favorite stores that's a must visit (deets to follow as I definitely want you at the launch) and I am truly excited about it and can't believe that that is coming forward and just in time for the holidays. We'll also be going behind the scenes on a lot of the things that I do as an Accessories Expert and the people within my community that I work with from those that I dress, to those who assists me in making my nuvo glam world a reality! With less than 7 weeks to the end of the year, I'm excited to bring a number of new concepts on to the site which will carry over into next year.
We're uber excited for next weekend as we will be in the thick of the Black Friday, Shop Small - Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday madness (you can look above to links about what this is and how your brand can be involved). With the holiday season there is a massive adrenaline rush so check out your holiday goodies to add to your wishlist (or to check off) via our Holiday Gift Guide and on Dec 1st we will have our Last Minute Guide which has a number of additional goodies to keep an eye out for! Also check out our recent Style Tweetup that we had which has some fabulous tips to look holiday ready. Once everything calms down, I'm so thinking of going back to Montego Bay (which I was at this fall for a press trip) as I could use a little R&R after all this activity!
The holiday gifting season is getting closer everyday! Although our Holiday Gift Guide for Kitten Lounge is out today with a number of amazing goodies, we had to think of the perfect items to gift or to get yourself so that you look amazing for all the events that are taking place! It's always nice to have amazing brushes and this set available by and at Sephora, is the perfect way to start your day in a glam way this Deco inspired brush and clutch group! Keep your skin soft with this Laura Mercier sample set which gives you a bit of variety when you're stepping out the door. One of your best beauty accessory options involves your nails! Why not provide yourself or others the option to choose what lacquer is best for you with this 16 hued set from Tom Ford Beauty!
It's been a crazy few weeks and now we can start thinking about all of the holiday traveling that we will get ready to do as we end the year! Sometimes when I travel casually, having a simple duffel from Herschel is perfect to bring all of your items with you as you head home to friends and family. Make sure that all of your makeup and skincare come with you via this Anya Hindmarch which is very roomy! One of my favorite skincare items to have with me which also works when applying my makeup is Beauty Blender. This sponge makes sure that your foundation is evenly applied so you don't have hard edges. You may be used to this in the pink color; however, they created Pure, which is a white sponge that is for sensitive skin. Instead of the cleansing fluid for the pink sponge, there is Solid that cleanses it with a fabulous lavender scent. Finally, it can be stored within this container which allows it to air dry and is super travel friendly.
For those rocking contacts, Brahmin has a contact case which is a great way to transport them in amazing hues. My jewelry comes with me and as many rolls as I need to bring them is never an issue - loving these by Neiman Marcus. Finally, it's all about keeping your lingerie safe as they shouldn't mingle with everything else in your bag. Natori (which makes a fragrance that is included in this set as well as a series of lotions) is a great way to transport them!
We have now moved into one of my favorite times of years, the holiday season and although NYC has definitely been going through some changes with the weather - it's great that we're getting back to normal. With that said, I enjoyed celebrating my sister's birthday last night as she is a Halloween baby and now with the first of November being here, I am so excited for a number of goodies that will be included within Kitten Lounge. Today as we try to get through the end of this week, I ask for your input! You know we cover beauty each Thursday but what would you like to see as I was just reminded that we were 55 days away from Christmas so that means each Thursday needs to count! Vote in our poll so we can get a good idea of what you want to look stunning this holiday season!
Happy Memorial Weekend! As you read this I am heading back from Tampa to come home to NYC! I had a great weekend selling my Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12 on HSN. So now that I'm heading back home, it's time to think about rooftops, fun parties and more. I'm loving this maxi dress in colorblocked style in orange and bright pink by Tibi Slip on these amazing Ted Rossi wrappd cuffs to add depth to your look. Of course, it's all about fab bling with this Swarovksi ring and complete it with these leather sandals by Jimmy Choo!
Merry Christmas everyone and to those that don't celebrate this day, Happy Holidays for whatever it is that you do enjoy! With only a week left, it's all about being happy and enjoying your surroundings while thinking of how you are going to take everything to the next level next year! With that said, I thought about the warm hues that he holidays in general bring your mind to. I love amber as it's a warm color and since I am all about lights, everything in today's spread supports the amazing bird cage that is the perfect item to include in your living room and is accessorized by my top 5 choices. We kick it off with Restoration Hardware.
First, warm lights are only amplified by amazing aromatics such as those that are created by D.L. & Co. which sits in an amber jar. These Hungarian Jars which are also available at Restoration Hardware are a fab hue and look amazing when the light passes through them. I love glass even when there is nothing in it. Because I am constantly hydrating, you can never go wrong when you bring in a little DVF into your decor with this twirl pitcher which has a fab aesthetic. When it comes to giving our bookshelves a little love, this Daum figurine is super graceful with a ballerina which adds a bit of zen and class to your space. Finally, I'm loving seating options and this Rhys Ottoman available at Anthropologie has rich leather that gives off that fab sunburst hue that has been dominant within this post!
From now through the end of the year we will have a number of Top 5 lists that will appear on the posts on Kitten Lounge. You'll see what we have our eye on, what can be gifted and how you can bring all these things together for your next holiday event, outing, party and so much more. This time of year is all about having a fun time while prepping for the next fun item with all of your friends!
I'm in holiday mode for sure! I have a number of fab outfits lined up that will keep me looking festive for items that are planned (like tonight's fun event at the Irish Consulate) or those that just pop up but you know that you have to make room in your day/evening to attend! It's all about color that rich and that which is subtle coming together in this fun magenta look that was created. Now I am not really someone that gravitates towards these hues; however, Paul loves me in this color which I will be wearing tonight!
I start off with Ramy Brook's dress that's easy to wear but definitely has a bit of a holiday vibe but can carry over to all seasons regardless. For me the color is definitely one that will play well against my skin so I want to get accessories that cool it down a bit so that my dress is what you see coming and going! This pendant from Miguel Ases has Mother of Pearl and as one of my fave designers, I love how he mixes his metals so that this piece is yet another great carryover. You can never go wrong with Kara Ross and I believe that my rings always have to have a lot of pop so this geometric ring is a lot of fun and who doesn't love white sapphires? Round this out with Carlos Falchi's hibiscus clutch which brings in the nude tones that we have been weaving into the look as well as providing visual texture with the pattern. Slip on Vince Camuto's Jamma shoe which is studded (you will find the need to rock this out in a number of colors as it is a great staple) so it adds the perfect amount of femme edge!
With all the holiday commercials that have magically hit our screens, this is a time where we not only think about gifting but reconnecting with friends so that we can see them prior to the end of the year. After a hectic Thanksgiving and getting items ready, I am super excited that I can squeeze time out to hang out with friends. I'm off to a fun afternoon of drinks and nibbles with a friend. With that said, we need to grab fun, easy outfits that will allow us to laugh for hours without worrying about our comfort!
I'm love this Chloe yellow and python top which can be paired over French Connection's stretch leggings which are a staple for any wardrobe. With such a dynamic top, I'd definitely suggest that rocking more of a monotone look would be the best suggestion. Fun peep toe boots by Camilla Skovgaard adds an edge without going over the top. Slip on this cuff from one of my favorite designers Ted Rossi and this ring which is beyond fab Sevan Bicakci which has carved citrine. Finally, make sure that you have a super cute clutch like this fold over option by Balenciaga which has a pop of gold in it to add some oomph to the overall look!
I'm already thinking of Thanksgiving from what I'm wearing, how the table should be set and of course what is being served. I'm super pumped that I have started picking out color themes based on some of wardrobe choices and today I present charcoal and blush or neutral tones. As you can see from this Bottega Veneta gown, I love the extremely chic but easy flow of this dress that has a dominant grey/charcoal color as well as color blocking with the neutral in this fab racerback style. This look can definitely be seen and utilized throughout your home.!
We start off with your table which can be set via Thomas O'Brien who has an entire set of charcoal matte settings! Before guests sit at your table to chow down, make sure that they enjoy some cheese on these fab Marble Cheese Boards from Velocity and Design. Lay out more appetizers on this custom buffet from Ethan Allen which has the fab distressed wood and maintains the charcoal look as well.
Guests can enjoy lounging in between and after meals by resting on this Louis XV Sleigh Back Chaise from Restoration Hardware. This elegant furniture can have a bit of that boho chic vibe by throwing on these French Grain Sack Linen Pillow Covers which are also available at Restoration Hardware. Together you have an effortless but chic look that all your guests will enjoy as you move throughout your space during holiday season.
As an Accessories Expert, I enjoy sharing what looks makes sense and how they are supported by accessories! Throughout the rest of the year, I will be hosting a number of seminars that look at accessories for fall, holiday and spring 12 trends Yesterday, I announced the first date which will take place in November at a fab space in the Garment District! If you have yet to have a one on one personal shopping session with me or have always wondered what it would be like, these sessions are in intimate groups (no more than 30) and will allow you to hear my thoughts on the topics of Accessorizing for Fall by showing how you can integrate key pieces within a number of looks, you'll receive a lookbook to maintain these trends, obtain accessories that will get you ready to start on your style path and of course, you will receive a complimentary one on one session with me that we will schedule based on your calendar!
I am so excited to see everyone during my Mix Fall's Accessory Trends Into Your Look and to share the vibe that you have been accustomed to from my style that is available on Kitten Lounge or on my appearances on such networks as HSN - right in front of you!
We have a number of upcoming sessions which you can see in the sidebar. Simply use the code KimmieFallAcc at checkout in the field for discount codes. Find out more about myself and upcoming appearances at She's Kimmie.
I love this time of year when you can walk around with a few layers on and yet still have the need to want to be outside. Many of you know that I started in the fashion industry first as a model and then as a visual merchandiser (doing amazing window displays for a number of premium brands). Fall is one of my favorite seasons to check out the windows and since I live not too far away from Saks and around the corner from Bergdorfs I always pay super close attention to their visuals! My good little Kittens saw these images last night as I was walking and Tumbling the looks I loved and how I would be bringing this into my wardrobe by taking components and having them remade to be very Kimmie like. This fall, there are a number of phenom trends that we can think about bringing into our look from - texture, light hues and draping. At Bergdorfs, I'm loving the grey trench with the fur that brings in a pop of color. I love tailored items and I love the hat that picks up the fur color. Whether you're rocking a fur collar or finding another way to add a pop of something (anything Swarovski like - amaze). Bergdorfs also rocked it out with gorgeous blush tone dresses that has sparkle and ostrich feathers - find a way to bring this in ladies whether it's on the dress or an accessory that picks this up - must have now
As I said last night, you can never go wrong with Chanel and this tweed cloak must be seen in person as it has a number of textured fabrics in black and white of course and would look fabulous over a pair of leggings with thigh high or equestrian style boots. Saks brought it with the Chanel series of windows and really took it to the next level with this diva centric windo with caged booties (get a pair NOW) and textured tights. When I was at Robert Verdi's during my Meet and Greets for the launch of my Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12 shoe line, I loved that Hanes was there and they were definitely pushing textured tights (just like Capezio did when I was at their booths this summer for their tradeshow). You know I'm not a tight girl but I am loving this trend and will rock it out every now and then. Stay tuned for more window love throughout the fall and holiday season!
Yesterday I closed out July heading to the Javits Center to check out a number of apparel, intimate and accessories brands at a massively large series of shows. I was inspired, excited and pooped! Now that we are in August, there are a number of things that go on this month that are in an effort to have a truly successful NY Fashion Week experience for Team Kitten Lounge! But in addition, with my upcoming collab launches, fab media push and events - things are just a bit more amped up then usual. The next few weeks is a serious push that I am super excited about and it's also the hottest part of the summer here in NYC! I'm already thinking of post Fashion Week which always involves phenomenal massages to end out 9 hard core days but I am also making sure that by the time I have come down from the fashion and last trade shows of Sept that Paul and I can say that we are hopping on a flight to Santorini!
I have never been but the images alone have given me such peace that I do believe that this season it must be a reality. Although I travel to a number of locations some of them being super exotic, it's not a vacation and if I revealed the last time I went on one, it would be too shameful to even admit! As always, it's all about the outfits, I definitely would want to rock an amazing bikini (love Matthew Williamson) that's super simple and can be paired with a kaftan. With these accessories from Noir, Alexis Bittar and Virgins, Saints and Angels I would definitely be in my element! Everyone needs bling even when it's time to relax. Of course, a simple pair of sandals from Christian Dior is a must! Only a few more weeks and then I'll be in holiday mode!>/p>
My travel schedule is all over (not that it's because I write about travel directly but my work takes me all over between design projects, appearances and TV - it's a luxury to definitely be home in NYC) and even when I'm in the city I'm in brand meetings on top of the shoots with all the launches coming up this fall and holiday. So it's not often that I get to be out and about to have fun with people I don't see as often as I would like to! Amy, of Midtown Girl is also the founder of Socialista NY a group that allows fashion influencers and bloggers to come together and engage with one another. Amy's first event took place at the UGG Showroom in the Crown Building and did I mention that they have a fabulous wrap around terrace! This event allowed us to mingle, nibble on fab appetizers and enjoy sangria, margaritas and more. In addition, we all enjoyed getting manis and pedis via Spa Chicks on the Go. It definitely came at a fab time since I had a photoshoot the next day and even as the rain began to fall at the end of the night, we took the party inside! Throughout the night, I took a sneak peek at UGG's Fall 11 offerings. This brand is about much more then the pull on shearling boots that we're familiar with. I am obsessing over many of the handbags, jackets and stacked heels that are available. In a few days I will include info on their new launch since I am attending this in early August but know that it's super cute. It was definitely a fab event and one that definitely sets the tone for future Socialista NY events!
