The holidays are definitely here whether you're thinking about the major ones you participate in OR you think of all the ways that you think of having people over as we build up to the big days! Your dining room table becomes even more appropriate and should be dressed accordingly! It's always about the details and ensuring that your personality comes through as well so that your eating space reflects your overall living space! Just as Michael believes that you can jazz up your fave couch with fun pops of color with pillows, your table can get the same treatment with napkins - I'm loving the boho chic vibe of these napkins by Williams Sonoma! They are a great and easy way to make your table phenomenal and get napkin rings (loving the ones available at Barney's New York which plays to my keeping it natural but glammy sensibilities) that are interesting - you won't have to worry about how to fold your napkins and it's a great conversation piece. Michael believes that you can quickly luxe your table by, "adding a shiny bowl to your tabletop - nuts look great in a glitzy silver bowl". His belief here can also be said for choice in flatware and other serving platters and bowls. Whether you opt for silver, gold or bronze - it looks amazing! With all the meals that you will be hosting and the fact that some guests may definitely come more than once, make sure to add in candles - a fab suggestion by Michael as it sets the mood whether you're going for something romantic or simply want to awaken the senses to appropriately set the mood. Bring in your aesthetic but we don't need to say everything about ourselves at once - I love looking at pictures but even Michael says, "edit your framed pictures - too much is too much". Finally, lighting is everything and he suggests, "dimmers are key - mood lighting always helps control the ambiance".

Earlier this week - yes the one that was super rainy, windy and just annoying navigating around NYC all day long. I am someone who never likes to run around wearing wellies and wet things but there was no choice as I was very excited about heading over to someone that I definitely admire within my fave field - accessories! Pamela Pekerman hosted her 2nd Annual Accessorize for the Holidays event at Kimpton Hotel's Ink 48 (a fab sponsor). We didn't have to worry about raindrops as Pamela insured that one of her sponsors, Ford picked us up in cars to the hotel. It was a nice way to get ready for a cozy night in with friends, accessories, nibbles and bevvies. I arrived rocking dual animal prints, leggings, wellies, trench coat and fab scarf!

Once inside, we headed up to the Heaven Over Hell's Kitchen Suite where we had the option to enjoy getting our hair touched up as well as manis in a portion of the suite courtesy of Maria Bonita Spa. As everyone settled in and enjoyed nibbles and bevvies, we were introduced to Pamela Pekerman's holiday picks (above she takes a picture with one of her friends from The Real Housewives of NY, Romona Singer who also brought her daughter along for the fun) which were focused on us getting ready to travel home and getting ready to enjoy the holidays with friends and family. We were introduced to fab Swarovski bling from Chelsea Taylor which I have had the pleasure of wearing for my appearances on HSN as I love to add a little sparkle which you can as well when you're at home with a fab brooch, ring and more (they even have water bottles that are blinged out).

In addition to loving a bit of bling, it's absolutely necessary to have a scarf - not just for cold weather, it looks amazing to have just a pop of color while keeping your neck cool! I have been living in my Olsen Europe scarf in ombre which looks so luxe and has been getting so many compliments! It comes in a number of colors as well as styles so you'll find the perfect one that works for your look. When it comes to finding your style, it's all about color so I love that Pamela introduced us to a site where you can shop by category but more importantly, you're favorite hue! Colour Me is the perfect site for the times when you're super particular on getting that shade but want to see all the available options!

My FAVE FAVE FAVE item of the night was from The Chick on the Go! Interestingly enough, Pamela joked that I needed this since I am always going on air and I was one of a few people that won an entire collection. This fab brand has a kit which has 5 garments and 2 accessories in it and a card that shows how you can make 25 outfits - (includes black pants, white long sleeve top, white tank, black tank dress, black poncho and a sash in white as well as black) within a case and is $289 total. I love the fact that it travels well and ensures that you can make everything fit in your bag when you're traveling which is nice as it can go over your head on your flight. As you think about traveling via your favorite airline, Travalo allows you to pump your favorite fragrance into this atomizer without dripping everywhere and this TSA 3 fl oz container ensures that you can take your scents with you.

Finally it's all about the look and we ended the night with Franco Sarto boots which elongate the leg, are comfortable and are staple as the weather goes from crisp to chilly! In addition TJ Maxx and Marshall's completed the night as they are a great way to obtain various on trend and designer looks from attire, body and home which is essential for all of your personal touches!

What a busy week and my weekend is pretty busy too! But it's the holiday season, we'll be out of the house more than we're in it and even when we are in it, we will have many people over so when you have quiet time, enjoy it! Last week I was introduced to Lavinia Firenze (you know I love intimates and this week I seem to keep finding ways to talk about it) - if you are a fan of La Perla, you will love knowing that this is yet another exclusive lingerie line that is not only very high in quality but I love that it's not as commercial and they have gorgeous pieces. I'm a fan of a cute top with little bottoms and I love the lace and other details. It's so femme and whimsical that it makes you think about just hanging out at home whether you just got out of the bath or plan on just lounging in bed with some tea! Of course every now and then you may want to run to the door or to knowck the chill off - I'm also a fan of Natori (I visited their booth at the Curve Show this past Aug in Las Vegas) and this robe has such a powerful zen about it that I would love to add this to my collection!

When it's hectic, I need to get some calm and Godiva's candles that smell just like their yummie chocolates is a nice way to transport yourself someplace else! Of course, one of my favorite magazines which is no longer with us, was Domino. I love planning for the home and although the holidays encourages me to get many of my items together, it also signals the fact that I need to get ready for the spring and summer when I have even more events at home then the holiday season. This book is still an excellent resource and what a great way to enjoy the peace of your home with something comfortable, a fabulous scent and ideas of the future?
