One of the favorite things that I love when I go out or am planning a trip (SoBe this weekend woohoo) is thinking about my outfits! No matter how much I have going on, the favorite part of my day is thinking about where I'm going and what I want to say through my clothing. I'm always on the lookout for amazing pieces and designers that are new to me. With that being said, I found out about a line that was new to me and most recently, I have a few favorites from Tamara Pogosian! I love that these are definitely glam looks that make everyone feel like they came straight from a magazine shoot. Whether you're going to a lounge, an opening and beyond, I believe that these should be something you should consider. Of course, I had to think about which ones I loved the best (all the ones included in the gallery) and I definitely love the gold dress that I labeled as My 30th birthday dress! Now I have quite a few dresses that I included here so, I'm sure that you'll find looks that are perfect for whatever you're planning!
I loved, Ethel's Chocolate place when I visited my friend in Chicago! Who wouldn't love a space that allowed you to relax and to enjoy your favorite chocolates. I love the fact that this pink lounge was such a cozy place that took my mind off the rain that was going on outside at the time. If you enjoy going to an icecream shop and selecting your favorite scoops, you will enjoy this place without a question. Take some time to check out the website it you can't make it to their various locations in Chicago or Las Vegas. What's my favorite - Chocolate Rum.
I have written about Hafdis Huld before and she has a new CD out which you can hear right here! This singer from Iceland has such a unique sound that I am so eager to share with all of you the new single Stop! It's interesting because it was recorded originally for a Merecedes TV ad in Europe, with such a great reaction, they decided to really put some great instruments behind it and to release it! Don't you love when you use something for one purpose and then realize that it can really be something even more amazing? Check out the new song and some others on Last.FM and if you like, check out this previous post which includes her video Tomoko!

I remember when I first joined Ideeli. It was a site where you knew that you could get access to a small quantity of items at a fraction of the price. All the goodies that you saw in the magazine were available here but in limited quantities and at set times. In addition, you could be a free member and have access while also being a paid member to get an advanced opportunity to score these coveted pieces! But like all things, a good idea starts and takes shape in other ways. Ideeli not only has items but giveaways as well and they also help you build your style. See a bag that you love, it may not be available yet or sold out but you can see where Barney's may have other items like this or go back to the brands site and purchase items from there. In addition, you can see what celebs love the brand as well. I also love that you can see what is currently offered versus what will be available soon! Ideeli loves Kitten Lounge and I love you so I am giving you a link that will allow you to gain access to these great finds! Just enter: fashionmaven and let the fun begin!
Personally, I love nap time. Is there anything better than an afternoon nap on a chilly Saturday afternoon with a heavy blanket, a lightly cracked window and the warmth of Kitten Lounge’s Editor-in-Chief? The answer is no. The problem is that most of our weekend naps usually follow a heavy meal full of the deadliest combination of carbs and protein; in other words, meat and potatoes. The problem is that our bodies have an extremely difficult time digesting such combinations. But, don’t worry help is on the way. Instead of pasta, rice or potatoes a textbook side dish to any protein is taboule (pronounced: tuh-boo-lee).
Taboule is a traditional Middle Eastern wheat salad and is prepared best with The Roots blasting in the background, accompanying the company of the delicious and the healthy. The brain, the source, the transistor radio transmitting the message from the messenger – healthy body equals healthy mind.
So, here is the recipe:
2 cups 100% Whole grain quick cooking Bulgur Wheat
1 ¾ Cups of Boiling Water
3 Cucumbers
3 Black Tomatoes
1 Medium Onion
Dill, Cilantro and Parsley
1 Small head of Garlic
2 Cups of Raisins
Freshly squeezed juice from one Lemon
1 Jalapeno Pepper
Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper
The preparation is simple. Combine 2 cups of bulgur wheat with 1 ¾ cups of boiling water and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Chop the rest of the ingredients, combine with the wheat and season with olive oil, salt and pepper to your taste.
The beauty of taboule is that you can add pretty much any ingredients; from kiwis to mangos. If you are new to cooking, one important note is to make sure to purge the herbs in cold water to get rid of all the sand before chopping. And if your delicious taboule is being accompanied with a piece of delectable fish, I would suggest pairing your dinner with a bottle of La Playa’s Sauvignon Blanc.
Last night was a crazy night! I was on Pop17 with Sarah Austin, a lifecaster who I find funny and love that she responds pretty quick to email (PS if it wasn't for @JuliaRoy, I would not have known about her and been on the show - you have to love Twitter)! Pop17 is a super cute show that looks at internet celebrity, issues and more. I was able to meet Famous Andrew who you should all follow on Twitter (FamousAndrew). Currently, he is a student at Parsons and is taking a course there about being famous on the Internet. He generates suggestions from those who visit his site and then he does various videos. Last week he pretended to be a banker that was affected by the current economical environment. You definitely should check out his videos since they are not only amusing but it helps him get a great grade for his course.
As a guest, I shared how Internet Celebrity works in terms of Fashion. Sarah made a great point that Paris Hilton became famous by appearing on the red carpet and I gave some examples of people that I know! Although this video is about 27 minutes, I am towards the end of this video and I give shout outs to Natali del Conte of Cnet's Loaded, Sarah Conley of Style It and Kiki Kannibal. Of course we chat about my sites and interests as well. I love being a guest and sharing how the internet and fashion work so well so enjoy!
Of course, not only was I running to get to Mogulus Studios to get to the interview, but I also ran from there to go to the Clearisil presentation at Bowlmor Lanes to look at new products that will launch in March. I will definitely do a special post on this later on today but let me just say that it was amazing and worth being out of breath to get there in order to enjoy great nibbles, a few beers and to see the products up close (a little teaser: I can always tell when a pimple is starting and now I have something that can fit in any bag that will stop it! Absolute love!!). More on this later on today as I am super tired and wanted to get you guys an early post to enjoy for the nightowls this Friday!

I am supporting Blog Action Day by lending my voice, post, etc to ensure that we all know that we can support the effort in making sure that poverty is no longer an issue for anyone. Happy Harvest everyone! There are three months left of the year and this is definitely a great time. Kitten Lounge is officially a year old today and it has been an amazing time with all the coverage and we have so many goodies which we will let you guys know more about. But on to a very serious issue! As summer ended, I came face to face with a hard reality - I didn't have a fall bag! Even more gasp worthy is that I switched back to last fall's bag until I found the right one. Being someone that loves my handbags and is an accessory queen, this move was met with mixed emotion - I definitely want to sport a new find but I am pleased that I have an eye for things that are timeless. So when I found out about Ellie Handbags and her fall/winter collection, I started wishing that I could get one of these bags in an instant.
Ellie Schwimmer Carotti (yes that would be David Schwimmer's sister) is a trendsetter, so much so that her line brings the trends of Italy to her customers here in the states before they are even big here! Who wouldn't want to carry something that will get multiple stares not only because it's fabulous but ahead of its time as well. Ellie Handbags have various skins such as deer, snakeskin and supple leather. Now it's essential with the holiday season right around the corner, that we have all of our accessories in line. Now more than ever it's important that we add a lot of pop into our lives. Ellie knows how to make a fabulous black bag but with the use purple and red which are dominant colors for this season - she knows how to take a classic body and to make it something absoluely drool worthy! Stay ahead of the trends and look at our gallery of our favorite finds from this collection. If you love what you see here, there are plenty more items that you can look at as well that will fit your style well!
Today is a busy day! I woke up this morning thinking that my boyfriend and Food Editor of Kitten Lounge, Paul, will be attending a foodie event which will find its way on next Monday's post! Of course I will attend this afternoon after going to a few meetings myself which will include info for Island Fashion Week, my clothing line and the lines of others. Of course, all of this will end with us hanging out at a bar to watch Paul's beloved Jets (and I will enjoy watching Brett as well). So this morning is definitely key as we tie up a lot of loose ends and start projecting the rest of this year (how crazy is it that we are close to the beginning of a new year??). We will be confirming a future weekend trip which will make its way on this site and so much more.
So when it comes to a busy day where I will be running around, I definitely like to have something enjoying - I will start with my flavored Green Tea and maybe have a nibble of Madeleines! I love this soft cookie and I will make these this holiday season. Of course, I had to go online to check out some great recipes and Milk and Cookies Blog has a nice orange infused taste, Yumsugar had the classic and Taste of Home has a nice hazelnut one as well. What a great way to create some great variations off of the classic recipe! I knew these were amazing when I gave some to Paul one afternoon and he declared it his favorite (I couldn't believe he had never had one). Anywho - I can't wait to share a lot of the goodies that are going on on the site and as soon as I can I will let you know. Until then, treat yourself to a Madeleine!
All the planning and tests of endurance and witihin a few days, it's all over! Well the good news is there will be some recapping on Fashion Week next week but we will start to go back to our normal structure. There were a lot of outfits and coverage that made it onto other media outlets which I can't wait to share with you and my lovely sponsors but I don't have the footage and like you, will have to wait for it. When I receive it, I will let you guys know! With that being said I am recovering from Fashion Week and definitely had some parting thoughts and I have a new Fashion Week that I will let you know about shortly that I will be covering which takes place right before the holidays and it's International as well! We are getting the last bolts tied down but I can't wait to share with you.
Fashion Week - I have been to shows before but never seriously covered it in the way that I did this year! It definitely take a lot of planning and there are events that happen prior to, during and after! My big thing was feeling amazing each day and it wouldn't have been possible without starting off the day with my beauty regimine which consisted of Mistral Soap (I used a different one everyday and always smelled amazing - they are a must for any day), Nars Cosmetics (I need to know that I will look amazing and not have to retouch as I was running around all over the place) and Model Co (which kept me fresh with the misting sprays). These were my basic tools that I relied on!
Comfortable but amazing clothing was a must as well - Lauren Conrad's Collection made everyone smile as I went from the tents, suites and off site locations! I can't thank their staff enough and it actually made it live on air in Sacramento since Fox News was at the tents on Friday and a few Japanese magazines (once again, when I get the footage and magazines, I will let you know). Linea Pelle had amazing belts and on the first day and with my outfit from Inhabit, I included it within my look which was amazing. It just goes to show you that you can put your flair in there and still look amazing.
Every now and then I had to take a breather and constantly rework my schedule as I had plans to see one event but would recieve an invitation to another. When covering the shows flexibility is the key! Most important, being able to hang out with people in the industry and to remember that this is an amazing series of days is also key. I have to thank Sam Dark PR and Dashing Diva for not only keeping me amazing in manis and pedis but letting us go back stage to Erin Fetherston and Tony Cohen to see what they do and what it takes to put on such a show. I love you guys and it added so much to this coverage.
Finally, when it was over, yesterday was my birthday and with Lauren Conrad on my back I felt amazing covering the show and then heading out to dinner at Nam with my boyfriend and later to Mocca Lounge. There is nothing like hanging out in Tribeca with the rain, a few friends and your boyfriend. Today, I'm heading out to the beach and working on covering the super secret Fashion Week but it was all worth it and I can't wait to do it all over again in a new location! I have included two images: one is me on the red carpet of the Total Beauty party which kicked off Fashion Week. They had a daily sponsored suite at the Bryant Park Hotel with Chanel, Ted Gibson, Aveda and more. It was nice to meet fellow bloggers and to get away from the madness. You guys throw a great event. The next is last night at Mocca Lounge after a few drinks with Paul our Food Editor and also my boyfriend. Speaking of Food Editor, he was linked on Food Channel so you can learn a bit more about him there!
Much like Elle of Legally Blonde, when I am frustrated, you can find me running to Dashing Diva. I love that it's pink, girlie, always has a nice drink that you can enjoy sips and they're super clean and friendly. For the time that I'm there, I can be in the moment and just enjoy my thoughts. Now that I know one of the master minds of this great nail salon, I love them even more. Robert Cleary, the Direct of Product Development and Operations always has a smile and a strong passion for this amazing chain. I took a moment with him backstage at the Erin Featherson show to find out what's going on with this brand and what we should be on the lookout for.
On past Fashionable Fridays I have shared interesting editorials, cute outfits that I considered to be a must and how it would look amazing with denim and anything else you can get your hands on. But as of this week, something amazing has taken place and in my mind’s eye, this is as big as many of the industries that continue to bubble at the service within the fashion industry. Right now we talk about two issues, that we want our models to reflect real people in the sense that they should look healthy and not as if they are seconds from fainting. In addition, our models should also reflect us as a people – coming in a variety of hues and that there should be an increased goal to ensure that our runways give everyone an opportunity to show how garments look. The runways promoting positive health and also promoting the very awareness that Italian Vogue did in their ground breaking issue of showing various black models. I commend anyone that can be the first or be apart of any movement that aims to change the face of how we see everything around us. Although I have made strides to change something whether it is within the industry or not, I have not placed myself on a platform that says, “here I am, recognize me as I am apart of this team”.

Sarah Conley, Coutorture Community Manager, Style IT Editor, make up artist and my friend who has helped me learn much more about social media and just what it means to be connected even when you don’t see each other everyday (yet you share the same city) – is on this platform. This Fashion Week as I become excited in not only attending the shows but sharing it with you, I felt the need to focus on the preparation and what it’s like to be there in one of fashion’s greatest tests of endurance. Sarah aims to launch the ground breaking webisodes of "On the Plus Side: A Fuller Figured Fashion Week", a documentary on what it means to be a plus size woman covering New York Fashion Week. To know Sarah is to know someone that is so vibrant and passionate about what she does that you are also engaged in what she is working on as well. This is someone who has style and so much so that many of the clothing companies: NARS, Old Navy, B & Lu, Lane Bryant, Silhouettes and Kathryn Kerrigan are assisting her so she can inspire other plus sized women to embrace their inner style and to be comfortable in their own skin.
With this big step and with so many people supporting Sarah within the blogosphere (Girl Woman Beauty Brains) and in PR (PR Couture), I felt that it was necessary to show my support for my friend. I am not only supporting her by creating an exclusive lariat necklace from my line, Kitten Couture for Sarah. This necklace will be named Lola (pictured below and is constructed of Mother of Pearl, Green Chips and vibrant Red Coral), and a percentage of the proceeds will be given to an organizations that encourages young girls to strive for their goals as they continue to gain a strong sense of self.
But as she covers NYFW and explores "On the Plus Side", we will also play her videos here as well to keep you in the loop! I have had the honor of hearing this from a plan to seeing it morph into an amazing plan. Although Sarah's focus is on representing a positive statement on being a plus sized woman and participating in NYFW, I can't help thinking that this is also a cry for all of us to enjoy who we are no matter our size, height, appearance etc! Stay tuned and also stay tuned to the sites mentioned within this post who will also be covering this. If you are a company that is interested in assisting Sarah, then please reach out so that you can be apart of this event as well!
I love when you begin working on a new project! Yes it is a lot of hard work but when you think about what it means in terms of the enjoyment and long term effects, you stop thinking about how long it will be. Well last night, I attended an event that reminded me that I would have to find time to do something that I don't know how I will find the time, but it is well worth it. Although I can't reveal details this second, know that you will be able to enjoy many of the things that you have come to enjoy about this site and it will be enhanced! Kudos to Golf Girl who turned my attention to this fun site where you can play a game of words and it makes a nice little arrangement of selected words whether it is your feed, words you chose (as I did) or more. Take some time to visit the galleries and to find out a lot more about Wordle.
I am a Seamless Web girl! I love the fact that I can open up the page and get a variety of restaurants that are available in real time to me. Generally, I tag some of my favorite orders such as my Calamari Roll, Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll and Veggie Gyoza (Go Sushi) or my salad with everything but the kitchen sink (Food Exchange). Simply enter in your address and you'll find all restaurants that deliver to your area and only those that are open will be displayed while the other ones that are in the area but are not open will show that they are closed. I love it as you can store multiple addresses (I use mine when I am working more then when I am at home), you can store your favorite places you order from in addition to those items that you love the most so that you can order them again without wasting time. If you wish to order something hours from now for a conference you will have with others, you can let them know the time you're interested in having them come. This is the best thing ever and I have noticed that more and more restaurants are signin up so it's definitely catching on! If you have never ordered, the fab people at Seamless Web will give you 20% off your first order with the special code KITTEN. This is good for first time orders only and this code will be available from now until 12.31.08. Take some time to check it out and see how great it will be to order in a snap!
As you know, Mingling Mondays is about going out to places to eat that you can share for your next office function, friends or significant other. Well Mingling Mondays will now introduce you to not only the most amazing guy ever (my boyfriend) but a foodie who will post on here two Mondays a month! I want to introduce you to Paul and of course you will love him as much as I do. Enjoy learing about some of the favorite places that we have eaten at and his honest opinion of many of the meals. I think that this will be a great addition to the segment and seeing that he is teaching me a thing or two about cooking (he is a great cook) and I think a natural to host his own show one day, he is a great guy to join the Kitten Lounge family starting in August!
So I love Twisted Silver they have a great collection of pieces that are not only extremely stylish but very pocket friendly as well. I introduced them on my sister blog See Pretty Things and now want to make sure that you guys know about it as well. They are such a fan of Kitten Lounge and the other blog, that they love to spread the love. Starting today through the 29th, you can enjoy 50% off of this Metallic Orb Funky Bracelet - use promo code FUNKY. In addition to this piece, they are launching gold as well and if you check out See Pretty Things, you will see what else is on sale as well. I love that the pieces are versatile and you should definitely have a few of these in your jewelry chest as well!
Today was so hectic that I didn't get to sit down and check in with some of my favorite blogs - which is always unfortunate because you miss something. Well it wasn't until I got home tonight, via Gchat, that my friend - Sarah of Style It told me that I had won an award and directed me to her site!
The Brilliante Award highlights those blogs that are amazing and allows the person who receives it to pass it on to other blogs that they love. You can only give this to 7 people and it must be that number - tough choice but rules are rules and I am so not giving it back! I love passing kudos on and letting others know why I like something so without further ado my 7 picks for this award:
*I definitely want to be more green around the home and with a move coming up and a lot of furniture and items to be purchased, I have quickly grown attached to Jennae's blog, Green Your Decor. I love supporting this and bringing it into my home; however, I love knowing that I have a great resource to find some great leads. Between her site and Domino - I am so caught up on my decor needs!
*My mom and I work on various business projects together and it's nice to not only have that sense of team but to know that you're with family at the same time. I love Girl-Woman-Beauty-Brains and I love that this is a great lifestyle blog and am always eager to see what the super duo - Beckie and Jamie are talking about. It's like yet another slice of home and you can never have too much of that!
*I remember when I first came across Katie when I saw that she had jewelry pouches. In fact, she was one of the first people I blogged about on my first blog, Kitten Couture Blog and then was one of the first accessories people I blogged about on See Pretty Things. Since then, I continue to blog about her pieces as I am a HUGE fan of supporting indies and I continue to check in with her on her blog Fashionmista which is so cute whether she is talking about her wedding, graphic projects or how to keep people who work from home motivated. She is always out there and I love being connected to someone who shows so much of themselves and helps others as well.
*As some of you know, my day job is working at Lacoste at the corporate offices and thankfully I have always been a tennis fan and since working there, have embraced golf as well. I watched it growing up as a kid but now being surrounded the sport, having a friend whose dad is a golf pro and always keeping an eye out for how great our product looks on Christie Kerr, I have also enjoyed Golf Girl's Blog! Patricia brings fashion to golf and lets us all know about it!
*If it wasn't for Sarah of Style It, I wouldn't know about a lot of applications that I use now such as Twitter, Twitterfeed and there are a lot more. It was because of her that a few months ago, I learned about iJustine and I love popping in on her site to see what she's up to and I agree with Sarah that her underwater Flip footage is super funny. I am always excited to learn about new items even if I don't have one (no iPhone I'm still pleased with my Pearl!).
*Last summer I came across Fashion is Spinach and I was in love. In my mind, it's like the Anthropologie of fashion blogs. I love the tidbits and the way that everything comes together but whether she is talking vintage, showing runway images or talking about being the winner of the Eddy's contest, she has a great voice and one that I love visiting.
*You can't be in the city and not think about where you're going to eat, what's a great place to have a drink and occassionaly, what do you want to cook? I have a lot of sites that I read to keep me up to date on what's the next best thing and since I walk around the city a lot, I love finding things on my own. But I am a huge fan of Restaurant Girl and love that she always suggests a place that I love when I go or sometimes without reading her review or knowing that one will be created, I go to a place that she has gone to as well. You always have to have a great resource and she is one of mine!
These are my 7 picks who I will pass this award on to! I look forward to continuing to read their sites, to talk with you through Twitter and to learn more about the areas you cover!
I love giving away something amazing that makes us all feel good and I love getting to know more about all of you at the same time. Tomorrow, two people will be chosen for this giveaway randomly and all responses can be left via the comments within this post! The summer is here and we're all super busy, "How do you stay calm and refreshed as we go from one day to the next?" Let me know what you do and you could win! Maybe you shop certain places, do yoga, make something special - whatever it is it's something you enjoy!
Spongelle is an amazing scrubber that keeps your skin looking fresh, soft and it's like having a spa when you don't have the change to get one. In addition these soaps last for awhile! You can enjoy over 20 washes. I absolutely love the way they soap up when you use them and they smell really good as well. Tell me and the rest of the Kitten Lounge readers what you do and 2 of you can enjoy this. Extra bonus points go to those with Flip Cameras that would like to provide a "day in the life" of how they relax; however, keep it clean haha. I'll contact those entries that won. If you don't win this time, stay tuned as we have so many goodies from a number of sites that you will be super excited to know more about and to get!
This weekend is going to be hot and when it's hot - you have to get nibbles and beverages! Think back to previous weekends - maybe you grabbed icecream in the park, had brunch at an outdoor cafe or you enjoyed a back patio with friends. You have to change it up a bit by making sure you head out to the Big Apple BBQ sponsored by Snapple this weekend! I am so excited as The Kitten Lounge will be attending this event! I can't wait to tell you guys some of the hottest places in the city to enjoy BBQ and what cities are definitely bringing it too! Now if you want more than BBQ, you will enjoy yummie sides, dessert and beer! In addition to hanging out in Madison Park with tons of people that will be your jolly new friends, there will be live music and seminars. When you check in this weekend on the Kitten Lounge, I will bring you recaps of what you can enjoy as I will be there on Sat and Sun will have closing thoughts on this 10th annual event. In addition, my Flip will be coming with me as well. To check out the schedule and to see what works for you, make sure you visit their snazzy site! If you were fortunate enough to get your Fast Pass - congrats, I can't wait to try all the amazing items. If not, everything is reasonably priced and waiting - come on an empty stomach and remember to drinks lots of fluids! The inconsistent weather of this week will be worth it to enjoy the sun and heat of the weekend.
The best thing about being apart of the Coutorture network is to see a variety of writers that talk about various areas in fashion and beauty. When I first started writing, my focus was purely accessories. I enjoy writing about all items that within this category on See Pretty Things. Of course after writing about this, I realized that I wanted to be able to bring in entertainment and style so I included that within this blog - The Kitten Lounge. This site has definitely stepped it up by adding additional elements and today I launch Beauty! I am really excited that going forward, Thursday will covers makeup and cosmetics. I want to share with you my favorite products and those that have just hit the market! Previously I have posted about this here and there but to have this as an ongoing selection makes me very happy!
With that being said I am including my 2nd favorite item that I love using. Those who know me know that I love my MAC Studio Fix powder. I love the coverage and how natural it is and whenever I am out and about, this is in my bag and knows that it is time to travel. Recently, I became a fan of
as I have her baked products that include bronzer and eye shadow. As we transitioned from winter to spring and on to summer (and because I am never without my lip gloss or balm), I wanted to find a nice Lip Strip that would ensure that my lips would stay soft! This soft sugar scrub comes in a tiny cute container and can be massaged on the lip for about one minute. I love that there is a great peppermint taste if you happen to taste it by accident and upon first use, this $15 product is absolutely worth having! Available exclusively on Sephora.com - this is a must have no matter where you go. I use it about once a week after I have used my mask. It's a nice quick spa with great results.
First off, Coutorture has an amazing segment that looks at amazing designs and pairs them with starfish. For example, looking at this beautiful dress, you can see a bit of the starfish on the right! If you love this gallery, you will want to visit Coutorture to see additional images that are apart of the "Three As Four for Starfish" Gallery. I love how seeing the two images together, generate a lot of similarities. Obviously, you can also enjoy other fashion shows and interesting editorials that they have created on their own! It's always nice to know that there is something fashionable going on and between visiting this site and seeing other blogs such as this that are apart of the community, you will never run short of getting your fix satisfied! These images are not only fashionable; however, it leads to something that will be introduced on The Kitten Lounge over the next few weeks!
As many of you know, I am all about style, entertainment and a great time as well. To this end, I want to introduce the component of travel. Throughout the next few weeks of the summer and going into Indian Summer/the fall, I will be taking you into places that are a car, plane or train ride away. We all have our favorite places to go to and sometimes with half day Fridays and extended weekends you want to go somewhere that you weren't aware of whether it is down the turnpike or in another state! I hope to bring you cute restaurants, boutiques and so much more. It will be like an ongoing travel guide of sorts which you can refer to no matter when you opt to go! If you have a place you would like to highlight, let me know as I am getting my Ame & Lulu bag packed for these great weekends!

So I was minding my own business and someone actually approached me about their site Fab Crush - which gives you information on the best in not only accessories but amazing looks that can be found on some of your favorite accessories! As you know, here at the Kitten Lounge and my sister site - See Pretty Things, we are all about attainable fashion! Fab Crush may be a new site that is still gaining momentum (and fast too) but they definitely know about flashing some goodies which makes you want to continue to check in! Visit Fab Crush and make sure to read about their amazing giveaway courtesy of Gorjana Jewelry. But in order to get it, you'll need to make sure that you visit Fab Crush! If you want to know what one of my favorite posts are from this site, make sure to check out Monrow Fleur de Lis Tank!
Before you start wondering where the Citrus is in this post, let me explain. I really do enjoy the Sunday segments of the Kitten Lounge since they are always home oriented and for a girl that is prepping to move in May - this allows me to help you guys out with great ideas, while establishing my own list of what it is that I need. Now, I haven't decided my color schemes for my apartment especially since the apartment itself is not fully established either (details details); however, I know many of the main pieces that I definitely want.
Recently, I received CB2's (the sister store to Crate and Barrel) catalog. By the way, if you thought that the whole THINK CITRUS concept was great here, you have to visit the store, go online or look in the catalog. They definitely have focused on citrus which is a lot of fun. ANYWAY - this bed is apart of their Indie Collection and I love the open platform style of this bed while having the poster option - very Victorian. This definitely makes me think of having a cute bungalow in Bermuda or something like that with long whispy drapes. Now you can add citrus here too and this is definitely for those that are a little shy when it comes to bold colors. Think about your bedroom having a nice mocha or cream motif and popping in some citrus hued beaded pillows or those cute candy rolls. You can even have the matching side tables and have a little vase that is in this eye popping color as well. Whether you embrace the color trend completely or simply let it peek in every now and then, you'd be surprised how much it changes the look and feel of everything. If you're looking for new pieces - this is quickly becoming one of my favorite shops!
While at Project in Vegas, I learned about an amazing design house, Sogoli. What caught my eye was the fact that although you see all of these pieces, it is the same chain. I love that you can wear it as a long necklace, a sash of sorts and you can wrap it around your neck as a choker too. This is such a great way to wear pieces like this and you are not limited to wearing it like this. I also love the pop of color of this item and that it works so well within THINK CITRUS which is perfect. Visit Sogoli to see which pieces you'll wear with your tunic, tank dress and so much more. Visit the sister blog See Pretty Things to see another color which is also perfect for this season as well.
