Whether you're old school and get your magazines on your local newsstand, at the airport when you're jetting or on your tablet of choice, we all love our mags and part of the fun happens to be the covers! As some of you may know, next Wed I will be shooting a campaign for a luxe brand in a fab major magazine! The following week I will also shoot a video as well. As many of you know, I'm frequently on HSN (back next month) as well so the fact is - I'm always prepping for the next shoot. I have a series of items that are a must in making your skin look amazing. Even though I think that you should always treat your skin right, I'm a firm believer that a week prior to any shoot, video or segment you must do a few things a little different. In addition to my increased workout regimen, I step up my beauty game! Below are some fab items that I definitely approve of!
I have been a Palmer's Cocoa Butter girl since I can remember (first memory - being 3 using it and currently, I go through quite a bit of this - no container is large enough to last around me)! It makes sure that you're skin has a fab glow, you smell like a walking cocoa butter ball and your skin is ultra soft - all things that play well for the camera. Over the past year, I have been a fan of my Clarisonic Mia which is perfect for my face, has timed rotations and keeps my face glowing! So when the Clarisonic Plus arrived at my door, I knew that this would be an updated oldie but goodie that I would not want to miss using whether I'm at home or on the road traveling! I love that this is for the face and the body which means super soft skin all over when you leave the shower with heads that are appropriate to use! With all the focus on the skin, I do believe in body scrubs which should be used twice a week. I'm always trying something new but I love Pacifica Kona Coffee & Sugar Detox - smells phenom and it's super invigorating! Finally, it's all about the lips. Philosophy has a Kiss Me exfoliating lip cream that is amazing and using this (I love doing it daily a week prior to an appearance or shoot) will only enhance your pucker, allow your gloss to go on evenly and make you feel better. Protect your lips by constantly moisturizing. I just became addicted to Sally Hansen's Vita B which leaves a nice layer without being crazy. WARNING - it's super addicting and you will go through a tube very quickly!
So last week, I attended the Manhattan Cocktail Classic Gala at the New York Public Library at Bryant Park. Being able to walk around the library after hours with a cocktail in hand was definitely a lot of fun and I loved the little sign details that directed you to areas that had more beverages and more that didn't! I have to say that this sign (Paul directed me to it) seems to definitely encompass a lot of what is going on within the Kimmie and Kitten Lounge brands! It's always fun to see amazing emails about items as well as attending meetings and trips about Project(s) X but it's so hard not being able to share them until I'm given the green light! It's a constant state of giddiness, I will say that! I feel that over the past few months that the team has been working double time when it has come to Kimmie's Gimmies (fun event tomorrow thanks to our partners at Lucky Magazine, Bloomingdales and Dior - tweets will be flowing), appearances and networks that I have recently joined which are always good things!
I love that next weekend (Memorial Weekend) I'll be back on HSN May 27th at 2am and 7am and then again on May 28th at 6am sharing fab shoes from Sebago on air for an hour each. Interestingly enough, an hour for each slot seems to run by like 2 seconds and of course, I'm in the final days of choosing what my final looks will be for each slot. I love that literally the same day I'm flying out I will have a super cute photoshoot as I'm joining a fab magazine network which definitely makes me super happy and you'll hear tweets about this next Thurs I'm sure.
Beyond that, we also know that I will be working on my Kimmie Smith x Sebago Fall 11 collaboration which will be out soon - working on the official photoshoot is always something that I enjoy doing and having notables involved with it is even better! Of course, I always have to do things above and beyond so I can't wait to show how this lookbook will truly come to life and of course, while I'm at it, I will do the same for Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12 which is a new baby that's been added to the mix! With so much going on, the sign is actually comforting to know that this is just the normal state of things in terms of Team Kimmie and Team Kitten Lounge but the best part of a secret is when you have the opportunity to share it!

After seeing it and playing with it, it's my new obsession and is at the top of my list and I do believe that I have been very good this year. Fashion Week kicks off this Thursday (yes I know we are enjoying our long weekend during Labor Day); however, it's crazy how many shows and events take place right before or after the official start of Fashion Week (Sept 9th - Sept 16th). I find that this is the time that I start seriously prepping my mind, body and soul during this time! You can never be prepared and it's all about having great skin! There are certain times during the year that I absolutely love to be in the midst of shopping mania! One of them is when Lucky Magazine holds its Lucky Shops event! I love going and checking out a variety of items that are greatly reduced while enjoying some cocktails. Today was amazing as I purchased Sex and the City on DVD (woohoo and yes I saw it in the theater) and today I get to follow it up with something as equally enjoyable! I love when the fall season starts and you get to see a lot of new shows and of course you get to have your old favorites back. NBC's Lipstick Jungle kicks off its second season at 10pm EST! I am very excited as I am a huge fan of Lindsey Price and think that she is the cutest. In addition to watching Lindsey, I love the portions that include Bonfire Magazine whose cover girl is none other than Hazuki who is one of Janice Dickinson's models. In this clip, you learn about Hazuki and what modeling means to her, her personal style and how it is to be at the agency. I can't wait for season 2 to start and if you're fan, let me know!
